Great local spot. It's a wonderful place for people watching and enjoying yummy food. There were great gluten free options as well. The workers were quick, helpful and very kind. Bonus: they have a coupon in the Palm Beach coupon booklet.

Just went to Big Al's for the first time. I'm a little skeptical since I have spent 30 years in the steak and deli business in Philadelphia. This place base on reviews probably makes a decent steak during the day. Unfortunately at night they seem to really drop the ball. Maybe they figure the drunker the customer the less quality the product has to be. As I'm typing this my wife just said worst cheesesteak she's ever had in her life. Super greasy super chewy. Actually smells and tastes like the grease trap. All I'm saying is that if you are the only cheesesteak joint in Delray. You need to do so much better for your customers. You actually have inspired me to consider opening a competitor cheesesteak place near you. Please do better. I'll try you again next time I'm in town to see if you take comments serious or not. Thanks for listening

Stopped here after a night out. There was someone who placed a huge order before us so the workers were trying their best to get everything out in a efficient time frame. The restaurant is small with outdoor seating. The food is definitely interesting. Being from Jersey I was hyped to see familiar options. The fries were okay and pretty average. The Mac and cheese bites came highly recommended and they were okay but nothing phenomenal. The cheese wiz sauce was good but I'd prefer a ranch personally. The Philly cheesesteaks were okay but the meat was a little tough. The hoagie was made incorrectly but we blame that on those who ordered before us. Not a bad choice on a late night but def not a first choice.

Big Al's is a no frills dive on the corner of Southeast Fifth Street and Atlantic Ave in Delray Beach. You order at the window and the are a couple of dirty tables surrounded by cigarette butts on the sidewalk. Parking is by pay meter on the street. I was going to eat somewhere else that ended up being closed so while walking down Atlantic I ended up at Al's, a place I passed thousands of times but never ended up stopping. According to the story Big Al and his son Adam were Philadelphia natives who couldn't find an authentic cheesesteak experience when they moved to South Florida. They set out to create it themselves with rib eye steaks and Italian rolls and Big Al's was born. I ordered the regular cheesesteak with onions and provolone ($12.95), with an iced tea and tip the total came to $17. A small order of fries would have been another $4.75. I cleaned off the table the best I could and dined al fresco on the avenue. They are open late, all the way to 3 AM on Friday and Saturday so it is the perfect spot to grab some food to soak up the alcohol if you are bar hopping down Atlantic. I am glad to finally knock this Delray Beach staple off my bucket list.

The staff is awesome! The prices are high and the advertised prices are not true. The prices are higher in the register even when paying cash!!!!! They tack on 20% for debit cards. Advertise your REAL prices and stop ripping your customers off. I come here every week!!

Until I found 3 Gs gourmet deli. This place is the real deal. My first time here was alone, and I grabbed a sandwich with two meat some cheese, Russian dressing, and coleslaw. And for good measure, I added a Schmear of chopped liver. This turned out to be one of the most outstanding deli sandwiches I have ever eaten. The deli was fresh and delicious and without ordering it lean it was in fact quite lean just the way I liked it. The flavors all complimented each other and nothing was overdone. The sandwich was in a word outstanding served with a sude of the best potato salad, you will ever taste as well as complementary pickles, like the deli of old would do and even some delicious extra bread. I just loved it and I had to bring my wife back for a second visit. This visit was even better than the first. I got an over stuffed two meat sandwich of pastrami and corn beef. It was absolutely wonderful. Same excellent service. There is so much on the menu. I want to try that I will be stopping there pretty much every time I pass by. Finding this wonderful delicatessen atmosphere with superb service and outstanding food is really rare. Highly recommended.

At first sight, its unassuming traditional strip mall storefront belies the fun deli interior. It is a reasonable size, with good attentive staffing and the usual fun deli counter. Atmosphere is buzzy and enjoyable. The clientele is mostly local retirees, so don't I feel so youthful here! It may skew younger at other times, but we've only been here twice, at odd times. Prices are high, but usual for upscale deli in the area, And portions are great. The menu has EvErYtHiNg your heart desires, and I could not resist the usual overlarge traditional B & W cookie to go. I had a delicious Turkey breast salad. Unusual option to the usual chicken salad, and terrific! They've got a strong lineup of pies behind the counter and some great lunch specials that make it an easy midday stop. I kept it simple with a classic cheese slice and a water for $6 (a steal). There's also a two-slice and drink combo for $8.95, but the slices here are generously sized, so one was more than satisfying for me. Service was quick and genuinely friendly--my slice was heated up and in hand within minutes. The pizza itself checked all the boxes: hot, foldable, with a crisp crust that still had that slight chew you want in a true NY-style slice. Simple, classic, and done right. The space is casual with a handful of indoor tables and a couple outside, making it perfect for a quick dine-in. They also offer takeout and delivery, and there's plenty of easy parking out front--always a win. Danny's is officially on my go-to list when the pizza craving hits. Looking forward to working my way through more of their menu.

My husband I order here often and we always see the owner on site. He says hello and is welcoming when we go inside to pick up our order. For the cost, these cheesesteaks are a great deal and delicious. The steak sandwiches come in a nice box which retains the heat without sogging up the sandwich. Very nice touch! We use the app to order and we always order the same thing (steak and cheese with lettuce and pickles) and we really appreciate the "order your last order" option. We ordered the cheese fries for the first time tonight. Tons of cheese sauce (yum - thank you)! Fries themselves are too limp. I have no problem with them but I can see what other reviewers have mentioned. Note to Charley's Steaks, as I know these are franchises): Change the French fry vendor, product, or check the process. The fries don't hold the crisp after the fry. Personally, I will eat them and love every drop of cheese on them limp soggy fries but I know cheese fry connoisseurs will be appalled. With so many good places completely missing the mark on hospitality and not engaging a welcoming feeling, it's nice to be acknowledged as a customer. I'm not sure if the owner is new (or same owner that prior reviews were based on) but it's pretty evident that the tone flows down from the top. He shows he cares when you walk in. This place has a good vibe and caring staff! And the steak and cheese is fabulous!
