The chicken Shawarma was juicy, and very tasty. The burrito has a hole was not necessarily my favorite because it needed a little something, but overall it was absolutely tasty. The portion is very generous, and definitely I could make this shareable. The fries... I'm always on the Outlook for the best fries around, and these garlic fries were absolutely delicious. Perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside light on the inside, and just the garlic flavor was amazing. I love the fact that they just didn't dump some jarred garlic on top of some french fries and call it done. Nope these are the real deal. The staff is friendly and I'm glad that I took the recommendations. The store itself is filled with everything you could possibly want. This is a neighbirhood grocery store with an extensive list of cooked food. Pleasantly surprised they had the fresh hummas I was seeking. On this rainy New Year's Eve day I was trying to find a good eat, I have been craving for some Kofta. I called the business before ordering to see if they were open, the man was very pleasant and nice. 5/5 Kofta Rice Place w/ extra white garlic sauce! So f delicious. I am into it. You would never assume from the exterior that this corner deli/market dishes out great grub, but that's exactly what you'll get and you'll get it at a great price. I've only ever ordered delivery but the food has been great each time I've ordered. The beef philly cheesesteak is delicious. It has tons of meat, peppers and onions and mushrooms, and the right amount of cheese to make it clear this is a cheesesteak without being too much. This is good on the bread it normally comes with (a "soft roll" that is grilled nicely and has a great texture) or on Dutch Crunch. The tuna melt is also very tasty but that's something I can make it at home pretty easily and faster than the delivery would arrive. They randomly also have some of the best chicken wings I've had in SF - juicy inside, very crispy outside even with the delivery, excellent sauce (I like the BBQ). Their cheesecake is also very good. The only menu item I haven't liked was a chicken cheesesteak where it was clear the chicken was their shawarma and the spices from it overpowered everything else. I think it'd also be nice if they let you order extra sauce on the side (even for a fee) as it'd make things easier for them to track as well instead of trying to put everything under "Notes" or whatever. The food is definitely on the heavier side and not what you would order often but a dependable option for comforting food and the food always arrives warm and quickly. read more

Before heading off to our family gathering, called, "Thanksgiving Dinner", I dashed 2 sandwiches and fries. I had delivered Philly Cheese Steak, Chopped Cheese and Garlic Fries to my spot. I can't complain about the service. The dasher delivered on time as expected (45 minutes) and the Chopped Cheese was still piping hot. The beef in both sandwiches were of decent quality and were stacked moderately on the inside. I preferred the Choppy Cheese over the Philly since it had a more "meaty" bite to it thanks to the ground beef chunks. I reheated my Chopped Cheese and the bread was outstandingly crisp, with a very soft texture inside. It wasn't " my type" of bread but it did the job. Both sandwiches were decent, except for the fries. The fries were shoestrings topped with the standard garlic-parsley mix. The quality could have been better, but since it was a 45 minute wait, I could understand what my Garlic Fries went through. At first I didn't know where to find the spot, but I figured it was inside the Family Market. Store is packed out with all your essentials. And I mean, all your essentials. This spot is like Mr. Liquor; but on crack, but let's dive into the food experience. Now what surprised me the most was they had this one particular item on the menu. I didn't believe it at first, but it was the CHOPPED CHEESE. I thought it was NY thing, but they brought it out here in the Bay. My Habibi and habibtis; listen up, the sandwich was huge. Pause. Unevenly cut, but the chopped cheese was the reach of the lower part of my forearm. Ingredients they used for stupidly fresh, and every bite I took I damn near wanted to cry of joy. It was a top 10 experience for me when it came to eating food in general. I couldn't finish the entire thing, and I had the late night munchies. Forgot how much I paid but it was like around $16-$17 and I would not mind paying that again for how blessed and packed out that chopped cheese was. Days after, I tried their beef shawarma. Again, the same experience. Not as big as the chopped cheese, but it was absolutely blessed at every bite I took. They threw on this garlic sauce that just made every bite orgasmic. First time trying their food and I can say it's really good. The staff and owner is super nice. I only came in once to buy some drinks but saw on Yelp they sell food. So I finally get to try it. The price is reasonable with the amount of meat they gave. My stomach isn't too big so it will be great for two meals. Their French fries really good too. Sometime simple is good. Easily a full meal, if not two for you smaller folks. 4 stars / 5 - the kofta was also delicious. Ground beef formed and seasoned, then grilled. If anything it was a little dry, but they give you garlic sauce to dip it. 5 stars/5 - The chicken shawarma plate. This is the star of the show, wow!! Absolutely delicious, moist and tasty chicken. Flavors were incredible. One warning, it is spicy but between mild to medium. But this dish was incredibly delicious. Other notes - the garlic sauce is delicious as well is the hummus. The salad that comes with is good. Only gripe and it's a tiny one is the rice pilaf is kind of boring. Extra garlic sauce and spicy sauce on the rice cures this complaint. Conclusion: I highly recommend big Baba eats for a quick take out dinner. It is closer to me than another place on Valencia. Three stars for the chicken shawarma. I went with the fries as my base. The hummus is okay; it is not as smooth as I'm used to. I cannot tell if it's homemade; Dolma, on the other hand, is definitely not handmade because it was out of a can. I do not mind being out of a can, but it has to taste good, too. This one was not, and I don't recommend getting it. The pita was drier than a desert, so I think I might have gotten the older pita. It was unconsumable, so I can't judge much whether it was good before it dried out. The place is basically a grocery store, and it could be awkward when other people are not there and you're just waiting there. If you're just trying to get a wrap, it might be a bet. read more

Very pleasantly surprised by how good the sandwich was that I tried here. I love sandwiches so when my friend told me her had a great one, I wanted to try it too. I think sandwiches out of small markets are always a hit and this one proved to be true. They use a garlic spread that makes it so good. It's a pretty big size too. Enough for me to have 2 servings.
