The only complaint was that they served other groups in the middle of ours, so half of our group got their food, while they served 2 other groups...and then they finished our order. Stopped by Big Bad Breakfast on Route 17 in Mount Pleasant and had a delicious experience. The atmosphere was upbeat and welcoming, and the food lived up to the hype. Everything was cooked to perfection, from the eggs to the chicken and biscuits--and the coffee was spot on too. My veggie omelette with goat cheese was savory and our son's biscuits and gravy had a clean bowl ending. Our server was so attentive and even joined us in our pre meal prayer. What an asset she is there! Service is above excellent with generous portions, and a menu that makes it hard to choose just one thing. I'll definitely be back to try more selections next time I'm in the area. A must-try spot for breakfast and lunch lovers because I saw those plates of food coming out too and they looked amazing! I'm back people...well for now...my friend and I came to this breakfast place the other day and absolutely LOVED it!! Everything was so wonderful!! Well, we are back here and once again, a great beginning to our breakfast. We were greeted with a smile and sat right away which is pretty good for it being a Saturday morning at 9:00...we honestly thought we would have a wait which wouldn't bother us since we loved the food. Last time my friend got the avocado toast with 2 over easy eggs...she said was delish!! I got the Mother of all biscuits, the Dirty bird...OMG....sooooo delish!! This time my friend is getting the BLT omelette and I'm heading right back into the dirty bird...I'm taking pics this time! The omelette comes with a choice of sides, my friend is getting the grits...the restaurant is an open floor plan , think cafeteria with great music. Well, breakfast is done and OMG so good! Riley is our server and she is a doll. So friendly and informative! She suggested the omelette to my friend and that suggestion did not disappoint! And once again, my Dirty bird was fabulous!! That chicken, soaked in a dill pickle brine then breaded and fried is to die for! Service was mixed - I sat outside with my dog and saw another table that ended up going in to get their waiter. They told me that they'd let them know I was outside (ince I couldn't go inside with my dog). After that a staff person came who was not the regular waiter but got my order, brought water. I ordered their version of eggs Benedict. I love eggs Benedict but this did not hit the spot. It's on me foe not reading the description better but didn't like the biscuit note the country ham. I have to say I was a little dubious about going to BBB no cases on Highway 17S in Mount Pleasant. But once I got there, I was pleasantly surprised. It's a big open restaurant with booths, four tops six tops a coffee bar where you can sit and eat or just drink coffee. I was pleasantly surprised at how good my espresso was and following that my latte. Excellent. I had the Yard Work skillet. It was delicious and satisfying, it came with a slice of toast, butter, and jelly if youwanted it. It was yummy. What I liked was each menu item displays the calories so you can make an informed choice. The staff were super helpful, attentive and kind. they have a huge menu, not just breakfast items but all day items. If the breakfast was anything to go by, I definitely would return for other meals and it's an ideal location for families and people visiting from out of town. The prices are very reasonable. There is plenty of parking beside the restaurant, but it is rather hard to see when you're driving on 17 south so my suggestion is put on Waze and it will take you right there. read more

This chain's got it goin' on! Open at this location for just a few days, the operation is running like it's been here for years. They have a wait list and that was a good thing cause it was packed. (Know that you won't be seated until your whole party is there.) It's noisy and energetic! Everyone is smiling and no one appears to mind the wait. The parking lot is large but spots are at a premium. Biscuits, egg creations, specialties, cocktails, pancakes, waffles, skillets, sammies and wraps ... they've got it all ... but, my eyes gravitated to the healthy and waist friendly ... sorry ...not. I opted for the veggie omelet and requested that it be prepared as a scramble. The ample portion arrived, loaded with mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach and goat cheese, accompanied with lightly dressed, very fresh, mixed greens. (I actually selected a cup of fresh fruit ...blueberries, sliced strawberries and watermelon as a side.) No complaints ... my meal was delicious! My friend selected the Jack Benny ... a crispy fried hash cake, sliced ham, wilted spinach, hollandaise, powder and two poached eggs. Looking for a quick bite on our way to Charleston & this spot more than delivered. The chicken was just the right amount of breaded & had good flavor from the pepper in the breading. For the biscuit sandwich - it didn't feel heavy, I could tell the eggs were fresh from the yolk color & overall the plate was balanced in its flavors. The broiled grapefruit we ordered on a whim because it looked so good in other Yelp reviews & so many were on the line to go out to tables we figured it must be good if so many people are ordering it - and it was!! I was extremely disappointed by the excessive add-on charges and overall pricing. Customers are being squeezed for basic items that should be reasonably priced. Charging extra for a simple substitution like a side salad, or inflating the cost of coffee and orange juice, feels like blatant price gouging. Coffee should not cost $4.00. Orange juice should not cost that either. Substituting a side salad should not exceed $1.50, yet it did. On top of that, a surcharge was added, and by the time taxes and tip were included, my breakfast totaled nearly $90. That is completely unreasonable. Mount Pleasant restaurants need to stop treating customers this way. It has become exhausting to deal with inflated prices everywhere, every day. What's happening here is not about quality or service--it's about charging more simply because businesses think they can. It's also impossible not to notice the inefficiency. There were excessive employees on the floor doing very little--multiple hostesses standing around chatting while the restaurant was only half full. Overstaffing while simultaneously raising prices is poor management, and customers are the ones paying for it. Raising prices across the board while competitors do the same eliminates competition and hurts the middle class. This kind of pricing strategy may benefit owners in the short term, but it is not sustainable. People will eventually stop spending, and there are not enough wealthy customers to keep businesses afloat. My suggestion to ownership is simple: reduce unnecessary add-ons, stop price gouging, and operate more efficiently. Lower overhead, staff appropriately for demand, and respect the customers who keep your business running. Until pricing becomes fair and transparent, I won't be returning. read more

It's solid. While the Mt. P location doesn't have the same ambience as downtown, the food is consistent. It's not a 5 star but indeed a solid 4. Service is hit or miss but honestly, it's usually good enough. I'll keep coming back. read more

It was a busy weekend morning and the server was still very attentive and on time. We started with some breakfast cocktails and they were delicious. We had a manmosa and an Irish coffee. Feeling unsure about breakfast or lunch I decided on a breakfast scramble with fried oysters which did not disappoint. My guest decided on a fluffy stack of French toast covered in berries and cream which was also very tasty. One of the best starters I've ever had was a grapefruit brûlée and it was the feature of the meal. It doesn't sound so amazing right? Prepare to be pleasantly surprised. The grapefruit was fresh and juicy topped with a thin hard shell of sugar slightly browned just like on the famous dessert. The combo of the juicy fruit and thin layer of crunchy sugar was over the top. I just don't think I can return to the Big Bad Breakfast without starting with the fresh grapefruit brûlée. read more

We met up with old and new friends here, and were seated immediately. The server was attentive and friendly. The music was very loud making it a challenge to converse across the table although the server did try turning the sound down a bit for us. The food is known for its southern flair-chicken on a biscuit smothered in gravy however, we went with a little healthier fare and split the veggie skillet as we were told the portions were ample. The food was good, but to be completely fair I would like to be able to sample some more items on the menu. Sadly we are unable to as we live on the west coast, and this here establishment is east coast. Should we visit our friends again in the future we would likely opt to try this place again. read more

Staff here is really friendly. Food is top notch. Good variety for breakfast or lunch. I've had a skillet breakfast, eggs with toast and bacon, and tried their BLT and fries. Their Tabasco mayo on their BLT was a nice touch. The apple cider mimosa special hit the spot. Freshly squeezed OJ. Great ambiance, as the restaurant is full of color and welcoming. Funny sayings on their T-shirts that the staff wears. We've been several times and always pleased. Parking isn't an issue but you may have to wait a bit for seating depending on when you go. You guys it's the end of 2023. What better way to start the last day with an amazing breakfast. We came to BBB and were immediately sat and greeted by Ema (love her vibe). I asked for the Grinch-mosa which is a cute take on a traditional mimosa but green. I'm not a vodka guy so tequila was subbed instead, DELICIOUS!! We went with the biscuit crumble (something about it was calling my name), spicy bacon, French toast, hash cake (Emma said they are MCDs hash brown but on steroids). I am here for all the fixings!
