We went with our kids and the restaurant was very kids friendly. Not many Asian restaurants has kids friendly menu. One thing I do want to mention is might be adding some sort of safety feature for the bathroom door. The door is very heavy but it not soft closing which unfortunately finches my littles finger. I've been here a few times and it is a somewhat nicer Chinese/Thai "fusion" place based in the Galleria mall. I have almost always enjoyed the food with only one exception (I would avoid the beef and broccoli.) Other than that, the food is pretty fire to be honest and you can even customize your meal by visiting the little bar they have where you select the veggies and stuff you want. My favorite dish is the 7 flavor chicken because I enjoy spicy. I've also tried their drinks and they are pretty tasty. Be ready to pay for a higher level of food and service than what you would at a hole-in-the-wall kind of Chinese place. This is fancier. And if you go during peak times, be prepared to wait. Kate had wonderful drink suggestions and she thought of absolutely everything to help make our dining experience wonderful with my toddler! My partner and I go to Big Bowl every year for his birthday as the food hits every single time!! If I'm being honest we really haven't explored the menu much, we get the same thing every time just because we love it so much, he always gets the Beef Chow Fun which is no longer on the menu but they still make it if you ask:) We are both obsessed with the fresh ginger ale made in house its way better than store bought just saying. I love the classic orange chicken with white rice! & order the chicken dumplings for an appetizer as well. At the end of the dinner they said in addition to the free birthday dessert we get two free desserts because we were nice to them!! We were seated right away in a nice booth close to the bar where our very kind bartender, Bennett, greeted us and got our Happy Hour drinks and apps in! After ordering, we were told they were out of lettuce wraps so my friend ordered the Kung Pao Chicken instead. My salad looked, smelled and tasted amazing, however it there were no visible pieces of chicken! I had to dig to the bottom only to find barely about 1-1.5 ounces of chicken. Really disappointed to pay $20 for a salad with less than half of the amount of chicken. A serving of chicken is 3-4 ounces. I'm pretty sure it was the same chicken they use for the lettuce wraps. As the original location, I hadn't been there in a while. The server was attentive and came out with our waters and drinks right away. We ordered a few appetizers like their calamari, green beans, edamame and a hot and sour soup. The calamari wasn't as crispy as i remembered but good flavor. The green beans were good and the soup was pretty decent. Expected more chicken in the soup but found a lot more tofu. For entrees, we ordered family style with a variety of dishes. Our family just experienced a negative response to our three year old little girl at the Edina Big Bowl - primary from the manger. Definately put a negative cast to our meal. After we paid our large bill and were getting ready to leave the very quiet restaurant at 2:00, the manager came over to tell us our 3 year was too noisy and disturbing people who wanted to eat. We were leaving and I found her rebuke unnessary. Our little girl was excited but not bad as we prepared to walk out The manager was not interested in hearing my disappointment as a very long term Edina customer in her unnecesssary reprimand. She had no empathy to my disappointment to her rebuke as I explained to her our family had been customers for many years and had really enjoyed the Big Bowl. One of our staples in MInneapolis area! Walked in and greeted by a "well-stocked" hostess station with plenty of smiles and hello's (It's a first impression with me always when I go to a place like this and I was impressed). Once we were seated we mentioned to the waitress that we were celebrating 25+ years of friendship and it was a double birthday! She congratulated us and took our orders. First you have to order the homemade lemonade which is a "must order" as it's so fresh and amazingly sweet! Then the potstickers ( sautéd in a pan with a light crunch on the bottom - I get these every time). I love the sesame chicken here! It is tender and not like your typical rubbery chicken you get at other places. My wife ordered the curry and the great conversation with our friends commenced into the evening. The grand finale was our birthday celebration...and it never happened! She proceeded to hand us our checks and forgot. We were disappointed. Our server was "nice" but she should've went the extra mile! We came there to celebrate and while it could've been great ended on a high note... it ended with a thud. Side note: I grade my bathrooms as a 5 Star Bougie (clean, pleasant, smells great, picked up, in order), 3 Star Basic (like home with the basics and equally as clean) or 1 star Bad (filthy, paper towels on the floor, sink is disgusting, smells like a toilet, etc) ... this gets a 1 star Bad! While the price points may be at a premium I have found that the food is of high quality and the portions are not unreasonable to me. I dined here the other night and thought it little changed. I was with a husband/wife team, also Big Bowl veterans. He and I split an order of spicy Sichuan green beans and I ordered Sichuan beef to which I added (for an additional $1.00) Chow Fun noodles. I thought that the noodles (somewhat like Chinese lasagna sheets) were well matched to the spicy stir fry. I ended up with enough leftover that I could enjoy another dinner the following night. I drank a cool, refreshing Hibiscus Lemonade that to me seemed to mesh nicely. Cordial and professional staff, low noise levels, upscale surroundings and plenty of free parking. I have recently tried big bowl on three separate occasions. On my first visit, I got a kid's meal. The portion was great and the food was good. On my second visit, I got the chicken peanut egg rolls. It enjoyed trying a new kind of egg roll and loved they offered chicken. The egg rolls are nice and crispy but I'm not much of a fan of the peanut combo. On my third visit, I tried ordering on the app and was having issues so I just called. I placed a pick-up order over the phone and after I gave the order they said it would be ready in 16. I was surprised they didn't ask what time I want to pick up. I did respond by letting them know I didn't want it that soon. So glad we chose this restaurant over others at the galleria. The food was so fresh and came out steaming hot!! We were in for late lunch/ early dinner. A few other tables and a large group were already dining in this low lit establishment when we arrived. The host was quick to seat us and when we mentioned to or server we were there for the first time, he was very helpful in explaining specials and appetizers that might be appealing. We chose cashew chicken and a chef special stir fry of teriyaki shrimp with veggies and fried rice.
