I tried Big Chicken today. I had pretty high expectations based on Yelp reviews. I was disappointed. I got my food to go. I had three people in line e in front of me and it took almost 15 minutes to get my food. The fries are soggy and not crisp. And my least favorite , I got their popcorn c chicken. It's made out of thighs - which isn't my favorite. The flavor was good but I'm not a fan of thigh meat. Their menu states that BTW. Bottom line, it's not the place for me. We went with my dad and he ordered the sides and loved those. So I am going by what I got. I got the chicken tenders, I wasn't too hungry. They are very flavorful but have like a peppery-spicy after taste and I don't do spicy. However with the right sauce they are good. I actually took my leftovers home and dipped them in this Kinder's Chicken dipping sauce and that took away the spice and much better haha! I'm not sure why people think this place is good. My wife and I shared loaded French fries she got the sandwich with Mac and cheese in it and I got the shaq attack. Never going back it was like eating upper scale 711. No flavor just a lot of bbq sauce the whole meal is dependent on the flavor of the sauce. Pictured is the Original Big Chicken, the Crispy Chicken Grilled Cheese, 5 piece Chicken Tenders and Lucille's Mac N Cheese. I wasn't to keen on the grilled cheese, personally, but would still recommend it. It just isn't my thing though I can still appreciate it. My highlights were the Original Big Chicken and the tenders. The tenders have good flavor and are juicy. The Mac n cheese was good but I can probably make a just as good if not better version at home. The Chicken sandwich gives Chick-fil-A a run for their money. I tried the Dirty fries last time, and while I liked it, I wasn't really into the bbq sauce in it. My wife asked for spicy sauce on her original Big Chicken. Someone in the kitchen thought it would be funny to add something to the sandwich that was SO hot that it could not be eaten. She puked immediately as a reaction to the heat, and this morning, my tongue is still burnt and hurting. I like hot food and even have a nice collection of various hot sauces. This was my first and possibly last order with Big Chicken. The store is 8 minutes away from my work. I ordered extra crispy waffle fries and the Shaq Attack burger. The fries came cold and soggy. I tried one almost instantly just the driver handed my order and was on her way. The buns of the burger were the same, soggy and barely warm, not as cold as the fries. The chicken was dry and over done. I am not impressed. With Uber Eats the total, not including the tip was $25. A ridiculous price for what I received. I paid over $10 of the original price to have my order delivered and couldn't eat it. Into the trash it went. When I walked in I took my grandson and it was like any other fast food place on the inside. I went because I heard it was a Shaq associated chicken place and wanted to try it. I ordered the original chicken sandwich and fries. The fries were very thin steak fries. However they were very tasty! The chicken was great! It was moist and well seasoned! It was breaded different than other places I've had before. Even damn Chick-Fil-A can't compare. The service was outstanding everyone was really nice. Second visit; this time I tried the popcorn chicken and Mac&cheese. Popcorn chicken was great; made with boneless thigh meat, they are juicy and tender, with a crispy and well-seasoned exterior. I got the regular ("Big") size and it was a lot! They have several sauces available and it was a good way to taste-test various sauces. The Mac & cheese was very good. Very creamy and cheesy. I did need to add some pepper and a little salt, because it was a little under seasoned for my taste, but that is a personal preference. Service was friendly; order came out very quickly. This place went downhill fast. We used to love this new restaurant and said it was better than Chick fil A. But they keep changing everything on the menu. A week ago, I ordered a chicken sandwich and it tasted like it was cooked in the microwave. It was rubbery and something tasted "off." Only ate half and threw the rest out. Still got really ill. Salty! I love the aesthetic of the restaurant, but the food was just salty. Portions were kind of ridonkulous as well. The coleslaw was $3 and literally smaller the the KFC gravy to-go bowl (seriously can finish it all in 3 spoons). Nothing to write home about, just pickled jalapeños, cabbage and onions. Fries were crispy but flat. Definitely not a place to go and try to find a healthy item on the menu. The interior is clean and cute though. Popcorn chicken: made with chicken thighs, this results in a grease bomb that overwhelms any seasoning or flavor. We ordered the bigger box and four total bites were eaten. Just nasty. Chicken tenders: a little dry and somehow soggy at the same time, but decent flavor and works well with the sauces. Nashville hot sandwich (Uncle Jerome): someone should tell their corporate office that Nashville hot sauce is supposed to have flavor besides chemicals and some heat. Luckily most of the acrid flavor was drowned out by an entire cucumber's worth of crappy pickles. BC fries: first couple were alright, but after that they became the consistency of an overthick potato chip. Most of these went in the garbage too. Sweet potato fries: first couple were amazing, but then they became absurdly soggy. The entire meal was eaten in the span of ten minutes so this shouldn't be an issue. Mac n cheese: actually really good except for the decision to put cheez it crumbles on top. Turns a solid Mac into kinda a disappointment. Sauces: chicken sauce is standard mayo/ketchup with spices fry sauce. Sweet Memphis BBQ and spicy chipotle BBQ seemed to be the exact same, but they were good. Didn't try the Carolina mustard. The food was fast and fresh. It just wasn't good. That's not the fault of this particular shop, as I'm sure they don't house make the sauces and I know the fries come in frozen, as I saw them.
