Honest people who treat my dad right. That's hard to find in the auto repair business.

I thought it would be too costly to do an oil change at a dealership so I went to Herbert…read moreAutomotive. The charge was $114.98. I found out the Toyota dealership charges $79.00. Also I was told I need new brake pads immediately and that my brakes failed the fluid test. In checking with a reputable repair shop, I have about 30% left on the brake pads and can wait a while longer before replacing. Also, the repair shop is not aware of a "test" for brake fluid. I will not be going back to Herbert.

I found you a fantastic automotive shop where the staff is friendly while you relax in their comfortable lobby. Herbert Automotive really impressed me with the best service, quality work and value! They have a free coffee bar for customers! Derrick and Nathaniel were our customer service representatives and they were helpful and allowed us to use our coupon we found online and they gave us an additional $10 off. How kind! The best thing is how unbelievably fast it was to get an oil change without an appointment. 20 minutes and they helped me out by offering additional services. After getting my approval, they put on new windshield wiper blades, cabin filter, and an air filter for the motor. The prices were quoted to me and they showed me the old dirty filters. Best of all the mechanics noticed my vehicle had a leaking rubber boot at the axle area. Which was great timing since my vehicle is within warranty and I can have the repair done free of charge at the dealership. I had called another shop about an oil change and they told me my car would have to be dropped off and I could pick it up in six hours. What a joke, no way. Having my oil changed and other items replaced in 20 minutes was a miraculous accomplishment!

My vehicle had a brake failure which dumped hydraulic fluid all over my brake pads and calipers and…read moreassociated parts. I called, they were very friendly, got out to tow my truck quickly (the driver was exceptionally quick and also very friendly). 4 days for repairs at a bit over $1,000, cool. I pick it up, the brake pedal pressure is significantly different; the brakes don't engage until the pedal is at the floor. I assume the hydraulic pressure hasn't evened out, I drive it low speed for several miles, pumping the brakes. No change. I call again, and am offered a free repair, bring it in ASAP, we'll fix it. Cool, thanks. I know you're booked, and it's pretty easy to let an it bubble slip in. I bring it in, they get to it right away. 30 minutes later, they tell me it's ready, I test the brakes. No change. I let the guy know, he gets angry with me because he "just fixed it". You said you fixed it. it's not fixed. I go inside and let them know I'd like my money back, minus the cost of parta. They argue with me, I relent and let them try again. 20 minutes later, significant improvement, but not pre-failure status. I tell them that. They tell me they can bleed it again, they're explaining to me that my brakes I had failed (I was a HEO for over 5 years, I know how brakes work, thanks). I told him us talking likely wasn't going to settle it, and that I'd dispute the charge (minus parts) with my company, and sorry we had to have a rough morning. because I wanted to give them a fair shake, (I came in slightly irritated because I had to drive into Atlanta metro on nonexistent brakes before bringing it back to the shop) I had my daughter drive my truck around. She noted the pedal pressure is significantly spongier than before, but she also says "I don't think it's dangerous or anything, it's just not close to how it was". I'm not going to dispute the charges, but I will wonder why it took 3 trips, an argument, and a third-party confirming the repair was "acceptable" but not to the pre-failure state. I will not be returnin, and I will not encourage people I know to go there.
