We are BBQ fans in general - I would probably choose BBQ over any other food, except sushi…read more We have been to a couple Mission BBQ's - the visit to the one on Bluemound was our first time there. Kids and hubby all ordered their faves and I tried a little of each. I love the turkey and brisket. I also enjoy the beans. Service is always pleasant. While we were eating, we were discussing taking a walk around target to work off our dinner. One of the employees heard us trying to figure out which was the closest Target and filled us in on which was not only the closest, but the nicest. Walls have lots of stuff to look at and read. My favorite sauces are KC Classic and Memphis Belle.

THEY ARE LYING ABOUT HOW THEY PREPARE THEIR FOOD…read more This place is pretending to be a barbecue restaurant. The food I received today was not cooked in a smoker. It didn't taste like it was barbecued; it had no smoke ring or bark. The restaurant doesn't even smell like there's any barbecuing happening on site. They're lying to anyone who purchases their food, thinking it is smoked. IT IS NOT SMOKED. I can't believe they're operating a restaurant like this. What makes it even worse is that they wrap themselves in the American flag and profess to have the highest regard for soldiers and first responders, but they serve food under the pretense that it's real barbecue when it's not. THEY'RE LYING ABOUT THE FOOD. MISSION IS NOT A BARBECUE RESTAURANT.

I haven't been to BJ's in a while, but this was easily the best visit I've ever had. Our waiter…read moreNate was fantastic and deserves a special shoutout. I tried their tavern pizza, and it was the best pizza I've had in a long time. It had a paper thin crust, was cooked perfectly, and was filling. My s'mores pizookie was great too, but in my opinion, it could've used less marshmallow.

We'd been to BJ's once before and had a 5 star experience, so decided to try it again yesterday,…read moreand I'm sorry to say that it was not a repeat performance. The first thing that put us off was the seating. The restaurant wasn't busy, as it was around 4 pm, and there was plenty of seating. I am temporarily and obviously handicapped, yet the host took us way to the back of the restaurant, up some stairs, and to an elevated booth - why, when seating was available at the front and others were seated there? Our booth's table hadn't been cleaned and the banquette on my husband's side had crumbs all over and a glop of wet ketchup. Our sodas came very promptly, and we ordered and it took perhaps 15 minutes for our food. My husband did like his burger, and it was cooked to order. The French fries, though, were dry and not hot, just barely warm. He also got a cup of coleslaw, which he took home. I had a house side salad, which was good, accompanied by a bowl of soup. The soup was tepid at best and had a skin already formed on the surface; it was also the wrong flavor. I had ordered chicken tortilla and got clam chowder. I asked for the right soup, and for it to be hot; after waiting for 7 minutes, it was delivered, but I once again received clam chowder! I like clam chowder, and as I didn't see the server, I just ate it, and it was good - and hot. But still. What struck us as being very unprofessional was a cluster of between 5 and 7 servers, all hanging around a table playing with their phones and talking and laughing loudly amongst themselves. That just didn't leave a good impression with us. And the coleslaw my husband took home? He decided to eat it after having it in the fridge at home a couple hours, and it had a rancid, sour, spoiled taste. Not going back to BJ's, for sure!!

Food was served hot, portions were ample. We had croque madame, filet sliders as the mains. Croque…read moremadame had fresh ham, tomato bechamel and ground mustard and a perfectly fried egg on sourdough. I enjoyed the sandwich though my tastes were ready for a lightly browned cheese instead of a lava like cheese sauce though the flavor was terrific. The beef sliders were well seasoned and flavorful. 3 sliders ( not overly inventive )were a perfect savory meal. Do not miss the creamed corn! The bacon added texture and a nice hint of salt. The goat cheese flat bread was maybe the best offering for the evening..the goat cheese was melted wonderfully and the balsamic vinegar infused complexity all contained on the flat bread. The brownie with ice cream was a nice sweet ending to a great farm to table experience. Eli, our server knew the perfect inflection points to check in without becoming a helicopter server! Overall, this place, the service and cook team merited our sincere appreciation! Well done!

I had Farmer Johnny's Pasta, which was described as "Rosemary lemon butter sauce, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, spinach, mushrooms, cheese blend." I would say the taste was good, but I think it would have been better with a few more vegetables among the pasta. Two had the pot pie, which really did look good, and is what I will try next time. Another had roasted red bell pepper, which I have also had in the past. It looked as good as ever. I like the fact that a lot of produce is local. The restaurant was comfortable. The service was accommodating. We all enjoyed our food!
