So, I waited 48 min and I couldn't just leave after waiting so long I had to try their food to make up for the waiting time. This is a place I take my daughter who is 10 for mommy daughter days, a tradition we have had since she was 2 years old! The food is amazing! The go to breakfast spot here in Bay Point. Serves simple and good food. Place is small but just the kind of neighborhood spot you come to love. I love Big Daddy Ross's Cafe! I would frequent this place with my family on Sundays. The wait is usually long for parties larger than 4 people, especially right before noontime. It's a nice little restaurant with a lot of loyal locals right by the harbor of Bay Point. Only the locals know about this place. Big portions for a small price. Only issue I have with this place is that one time, I've been served by a very unwelcoming and unprofessional waitress. No smiles, no greeting, and no rounds to check if our table was doing okay. I've came to this place two times now. Very hard to find, but once you find it, boy are you in luck. The place is in the middle of nowhere but it is a true gem! Perfect for a family brunch. Parking is easy as you can always find a spot right in front. They have high chairs for your little ones which is always a plus. This place has a mom & pop feel with the most delicious food. I ordered my 2 year old the Minnie Mouse pancakes which she loved! They were fluffy and came with the right amount of butter. No complaints here! For myself I ordered the French toast and a side of country potatoes! So delish. The French toast were not dry at all and had just the right amount of vanilla extract! YUM! Potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I also ordered a lemonade which was definitely fresh, not store bought! I definitely recommend this place and will be back soon! read more

I finally was able to check this place out after a high recommendation. From the first step in the door we were greeted by a young lady who was very attentive. Melissa was our server and she was amazing. She had a huge smile and very friendly. I appreciated her recommendation of the scrambled eggs with cheese. It was very good. I will be making a special trip from Sacramento to Big Daddy's one of these days to have some more of their pancakes. I went in on a Thursday morning with my girlfriend Debbie. She is suffering from inoperable brain cancer; incredibly sad. She is not herself, she is not well. But we went because I know she loves her pancakes and her husband recommended this place. I was incredibly pleased with the friendly, professional, caring attention of the wait staff. And I was even more impressed by the huge pancakes. I also ordered a chili cheese omelet and let me tell you, it was huge and it tasted fantastic. Came with potatoes and toast. Randomly stumbled upon them via yelp, and now it's my favorite breakfast place. I legit crave their food at this point. When I arrived I was a little skeptical, it was this little hole in the wall breakfast spot on the water. But don't let the outside fool you. The food is great, priced fairly AND they give you a decent portion. The first I came I was actually surprised that my tab didn't come out more expensive than it was, that's how much food I got. Food is great. However, service is terrible. My second time here is what will make not come back again. I ordered the classic breakfast and tried ordering an order of french toast. Soon enough I was stopped when the owner (at least I believe he's the owner) asked "are you going to eat all of that?" I said "excuse me." He said "that's a lot of food." I gave up trying to order french toast and just told him to forget it. 1: Always please your customers. 2: If a customer is willing to pay for it, who cares? More money for the business. 3: Make sure you think about what you say before you say it. Working as a server never have I ever questioned the amount of food my customers order. This place gets pretty packed on weekends! The service can be a little slow especially during their peak times and when they are busy. This place really is a hidden gem because it is out near the docks and in a pretty obscure part of bay point. There aren't that many good food places around, but if you're around the area and looking for diner or that good ol' american breakfast food you've come to the right place. I usually get the healthy scramble without the cheese. It's really a guilt free option because it's just veges and egg whites. You also get to substitute the hash browns for a side of fruit or country potatoes. The New York steak and eggs is also another classic because they give you a nice big piece of steak with hash browns and eggs. You really can't go wrong. The steak is juicy and the hash browns were crispy and the sunny side egg was runny just how I like it. Bottom line: the place is kind of small, and it's that mom and pop shop feel to it. The food is yummy and comes in hearty portions, and you really can't find much good food around theses parts so it definitely gets 5 stars. read more

My boyfriend and I have lived in Pittsburg/Bay Point (5 minutes away) for 3 years had we known that all we had to do was go under the freeway and down to the marina for an awesome, downhome meal back then, we would have been sooner. We have now been three times. Twice this last weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and the weekend before. The people are very friendly. The Coffee is good and the food is great. It is very reasonably priced. The biscuits and gravy seem to always be on special for 5.00 and the portion is HUGE!! The ham, mushroom and avocado omelet is delicious. The mushrooms are fresh and the avocado was so buttery and creamy. We've also had the Belgium waffle with fresh fruit. Again, very fresh and the fruit so sweet that I didn't even need syrup. The chicken fried steak is also very good topped with the same gravy they use for the biscuits and gravy (which is yummy!!). And they did my sunny side up eggs perfectly. This is my new favorite place. We plan to go back again this weekend I really wanna try something from the lunch menu but will probably be there for breakfast since we are up early and they close by 2. read more

If I could give this post a negative review I would. My waitress has had the shittiest attitude towards me and my group today. She disappeared for a good 30-40 minutes before coming back to help. She was really short with everyone in my group when we came in and it felt like she just wanted us in and out. I didn't catch her name but she was wearing a black hoodie today and she has black hair. A blonde PREGNANT lady (i think her name was sharron or shannon/she was the savior of this visit) was picking up her slack and busting her ass to keep everything running smoothly. She kept coming to check on our table and make sure the food was to our likings and everything was okay with our drinks and good to go on our end. I WILL NOT be coming back if our previous waitress is gonna be working. I'm normally the person to look past all of these inconveniences and not write bad reviews but the previous women who served us was unacceptable and I want the other waitress that stepped in to get recognized for her hard work that she has shown when we were there. Now with this all being said the food was amazing, the place is sooo cute, and it deserves a good review. Maybe we just went in at the wrong time. A bit hard to find being way out at the end of a gravel road on the river side of the Bay Point Marina. Decor is a bit dive-ey, but clean. Food is extremely good. Breakfast all day. Omelettes are made with REAL eggs. Not out-of-a-carton eggs. Staff is friendly and attentive. Coffee will wake you up but you won't enjoy it. But they keep your cup filled. What a gem of a cafe in this small town. All the locals know this place, but very few passerbys have heard of it. Small, old diner surrounded by dirt road, junkyard, and a boat dock to the delta. This place is unique, perfect, and unforgettable. What a charm. I want to order everything from their menu. Food is cooked to your preference, I've tried their pancake, steaks, and hamburgers and I am always more than satisfied. Service is just like grandma's homemade, but a tad slower than I expected. Make sure you're not in a rush coming in here. Prices are cheap, food is loaded, place is medium small. They have a small patio you can eat outside, if you want, or you can eat it by your car/boat, whatever you want I'm sure they don't mind. Really good food. The patrons there are mostly fishermen making jokes the whole time. The only reason why I didn't give them a five star is because it's freezing cold in there. So make sure you bundle up before you go for breakfast. But on a warm summer morning the patio has a beautiful view of the Delta. Yummy! I had the basic breakfast two eggs bacon hash browns and toast but you can upgrade toast to french toast. They are very generous with their servings I got a side of avocado it was a large serving not like other places that charge you a lot and give you a little. The bacon was delicious I noticed people ordering extra to to take home not greasy cooked to perfection and again I think I had 5 or 6 slices. Service was great and the locals were friendly. I was hoping to give this quaint place more stars...however despite the lovely fresh fruit atop my pancakes, they themselves were undercooked. I just ate around it though. The place was hoping so I'm sure it was a fluke and maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Another in my party ordered the steak and eggs and he said it was above average but nothing to gloat about.
