You can't go wrong by having breakfast here! I have a small group of friends that go out to breakfast once a month. We've known each other for almost 40 years and worked together for almost 30. Now that we're all retired, we get together once a month and we go to different places every month. This month was my turn to choose and I chose Big Daddy Ross. My friends loved it. The service was above and beyond! The food was reasonably priced and hearty portions. It was also cooked to perfection. I've always ordered eggs over hard and 95% of the time the kitchen gets it wrong. We'll, here, they've gotten it right every single time. Though I've been here a few times, this was the first time for my friends and they were not disappointed. There's plenty of room but it does fill up quickly. My husband and I decided on Big Daddy Ross for breakfast today. We were looking forward to their friendly staff and delicious food. We got there and it was pretty busy. We anticipated that since it's a holiday. We were ready to chat and drink our morning coffee while we waited. I stood at their doorway waiting for someone to acknowledge us. A waitress wearing a blue sweater that didn't look so happy looked at me and said "it's open seating we are going to clean up some tables soon" We then we proceeded to the outdoor dining area and sat at a table where someone had just finished eating and left. We figured we'd at least sit while we waited. A family came in after us and they must of told them the same thing as they also chose a table to sit at. Same lady comes out and says to us in a very rude manner "we're not serving outside seating, we don't have enough staff" she walks away mad. I'm sorry but NEVER OK to talk and treat your your customers that way. If you're having a bad day don't take it out on your customers that are happy to be here. We got up and left. First time to the harbor and this Cafe. Well, my first impression is that this place is really old and beat up, but upon looking again, I saw that it was really old and beat up. Upon entering the harbor area, you have to drive slowly and carefully long day beat up dirt road. Watch out for all the potholes. There are a modest number of tables inside, as well as some seats at the counter. On a pleasant Saturday morning, I got a spot right away. Service was prompt and friendly. They have a board of specials for about $13. I would have thought the prices would have been pretty reasonable here, but they're actually on the expensive side. I ordered an egg sandwich for about $6. It was actually very good. This seems to be a popular local spot, and I had a pleasant conversation with a local. The staff were also quite friendly. Completely unassuming spot by the harbor hidden behind some signs, trees and boats. Rugged interior and exterior, with plentiful marina related decor. Many diners on an early Saturday morning. We ordered off of their July 4 specials menu: steak and eggs (comes with hash browns or home fries, and choice of toast with butter), and fruit waffle. Our two large plates were delicious, filling and satisfying. The assortment of berries and fruits were fresh, sweet and tart as they should be. My bf's steak was perfectly grilled to medium rare and flavorful without sauce. And to think we only paid $12.50 per plate is crazy value for our meal. The restaurant was near capacity when we arrived but the servers were quick to seat us. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. It is a small menu, but I appreciate that they choose to do what they do well, rather than expanding their repertoire to please brunch critics. Another five star breakfast situation! I have never loved omelettes as much as here. They are cooked perfectly and chocked full of deliciousness! I had an unbelievably poor experience eating at Big Daddy Ross's cafe, start to finish. From opening the napkin and finding dirty silverware to the water I was served having a nasty fishy taste to the main course which was the worst offender. I had ordered the bacon cheeseburger and to say it was a disappointment is an understatement. For one, the "cheese" was ice cold served on top of the bacon completely not melted just thrown on as an after thought. The patty itself was a pre-shaped seemingly pre-cooked burger the likes of fast food patty, the tomato was ice cold and it was slathered with mayonnaise. The food is OK! ! We went here for breakfast twice and first experience was better! First of all, we had to flag the waiter twice to get us hot fresh coffee because our coffee was Luke warm! plus I was charged twice for potatoes and we only got one and I asked for over easy eggs but I got sunny side up! There was 10 of us so when they brought the tab, I added tip without realizing that they already charged me 20% because we are a large party! The waiter didn't say anything! They charge 20% for party of 6 or more is crazy! But at least let me know if you charged me already! I was not happy to pay double tip TWICE!!! read more

A hidden gem! It was a little hard to find since you have to go around to get to the parking lot. Service was good and food was even better! The eggs (over easy) were perfectly cooked, sausages were good too! The waffle was really good and feeds 2 people. I loved the fresh fruits (add on $2.75). The waffle comes without whipped cream. I requested whipped cream. Over all very light! And not too sweet. I think it could do without the powdered sugar on the plate though. The total for this and a bottled water with tax was only $20. You really can't go wrong stopping by here for breakfast/brunch! It's such a chill great spot to support. My family loves coming here and love that it's also dog friendly! Favorites include veggie scramble & pancakes. Downside that I understand is no reservations, but I do think they should change this for any holidays. We went on Father's Day and guests easily had to wait 1.5 hours to be seated and then another 1.5 hours to get their food after ordering. The service is great but this type of wait is just too long. At the least, people shouldn't even be seated if they then have to wait 1-2 hours for their food. We'll still come here and support, but do wish they improve the process for busy days! read more

The menu is simple, but provides a plethora of tasty options, all prepared for an exceptionally reasonable price. The ingredients are exceedingly fresh, portions are large, and the taste will simply tickle all your tastebuds. Not to mention that the ladies took excellent care of us. Every request was met with a smile and excellent timing. I mean, my coffee cup was NEVER empty and extra napkins magically appeared just as the avocado from my omelette was attempting its escape from my mouth's inevitable demise. Albeit small, this place sure is mighty. From service to dinning, and variety to comfort, this cafe is super "lit" as those silly millennials might say. My sister recommended this place for breakfast this morning, so my boyfriend and I headed on over. At first, we assumed we were at the wrong location because upon arrival, we seen a buncha boats and a big lot. But don't worry, @first timers, you're at the right place I promise! Pictures of the fruit belgian waffle is what brought us here, but we ended up ordering omelettes because the waffle was on the pricier side. My choice was the chicken pesto with added avocados! I figured this was the most adventurous menu item that still stayed true to a traditional breakfast.The taste of pesto was a bit subtle for me, but they are generous with the amount of chicken. Keep in mind, this meal also comes with your choice of buttered toast and hashbrowns. For me, the food itself was good...but not great.
