Decided to try this new shawarma place in Studio City. The food is average and expensive. The prices start at $22 for a shawarma sandwich and go up from there. I got a pita shawarma which came with fries and a drink. The drink was extra I think. Total $28. You pay at the counter and they give you a ticket to take to a buffet bar where they prepare the shawarma plate with some toppings of your choice. The fries were average and not even hot or crispy, kinda stale.. The meat was average. The quality of the meat was average. Service was nothing special, it's a cafeteria style place where you pick up your own food. The space was clean, but it's a brand new restaurant. I'm not sure where my money went. You can get a shawarma sandwich at any other place for half the price, even a combo for 30-40% less and better quality meat. We shall not return. As an added bonus, my wife immediately had diarrhea when we came back home after eating here. No, we won't be returning. read more

The reviews regarding the restaurant being weird and uncomfortable is, unfortunately, on point. The layout of the restaurant is quite confusing since it feels like a Chipotle style which you pay after grabbing your food - but you get redirected to the cashier to pay first which isn't clear to do. The woman at the register had an off-putting attitude which sucked because she can clearly tell it was our first time and felt like pulling teeth when we were asking questions about the menu. Regarding the menu, dang the prices are steep. I would be lying if I said the food was bad (it's not), but does the price justify it? No...given there's other shawarma locations at half the price which are at the same or better quality. Customer service is definitely lacking. The staff are pushing around you which doesn't seem necessary at all given there's plenty of room in the store to go around you, not at you. One of the woman staff took up space while we were trying to pick our toppings and I couldn't even see what to pick from because she refused to scoot over. Trying to get a cup of water seemed like mission impossible because the woman at the front register and the woman running at us to grab food kept redirecting us instead of just helping us to get it themselves (one of the line staff finally went behind the kitchen and he filled up our water cups). Overall, we felt like the staff were intentionally not wanting our business there - which sucks given we spent a hefty amount for ok food. I wouldn't go out of my way to come again. read more

I have to put my sense into this place. Every time we come there they are always out of the Shawarma which is the beef, chicken and the lamb. They are always left ONLY with the turkey which is horrible. Service is good but extremely disappointing that when you want the other kind of Shawarma they are all out of it. The schawarma wasnt too bad. My wife came here hoping to get the crispy schawarma thats been circulating online but we got their version instead. We selected the chicken schawarma and chose to get everything on it and asked for the spicy chili sauce be added. The wrap was huge and it came with fries. The guy that put toppings on was very generous with toppings so the thing was pretty big in the end. do i think the $28 price point was justified? not necessarily. The place was clean and the staff was very friendly. Finally decided to try this place out and it was just ok. I saw a "line starts here" sign a naturally lined up there thinking it's like subway where you make your sandwich but they told me I actually had to order further down at a register. So I place the order and give back the ticket to the first guy I saw and tell him the things I wanted in my shawarma and that I wanted fries. Once he's done putting the toppings on he leaves it for another guy to put the chicken in and idk where to go to wait for him so I just step to the side and let the people behind me go. The price is a bit expensive (25 for the laffa) but you do get a monster sized shawarma and a side of fries with it. The absolute worst Israeli food I have ever eaten! We ordered to go food, I ordered beef shawarma in a baguette- the meat was raw! The entire baguette was covered in oil. I stopped in just to pick up some food, and even though my order was only going to take an extra five minutes which was totally no big deal because I arrived early, the staff went above and beyond. Everyone working there was so friendly and genuinely kind. They even offered me some French fries and pickles while I waited. I know it sounds funny, but those were honestly the best pickles I have ever had, and the fries were delicious too. I love this place! Food is really good. Nothing fancy just a place to have a quick meal. Finally a really good shawarma place in the valley. Immediately after walking in, I was met with a nasty attitude from the hostess. She asked me if I knew that this was a "Kosher restaurant and environment" with a stern and passive aggressive tone. What does that even mean or how does that have any significance to me choosing to walk in and have a meal. I just walked right out and will not be returning. It's a restaurant on busy Ventura Blvd in the middle of Studio City, meaning anyone can walk in at any time to try their restaurant? I have lived in Studio City my entire life. Pretty much been here for 41 years. Up until now I would say that amir's Falafel and Pita Kitchen is the best Mediterranean food you could find. Then I found this place Big Daddy shawarma. It took over the old Pizza Rev and oh my God is it fantastic. Everything we had was delicious the whole family enjoyed our meal. Not a single complaint. The Falafel is out of this world, the Shawarma is completely next level and the kabobs are to die for. We will be coming here on a weekly basis if not a multiple times a week basis. This place is fantastic. The people are wonderful. Everything is koaher so all my Jewish kosher friends can enjoy an amazing meal at a fantastic restaurant. I've ordered from Big Daddy Shawarma through Uber Eats multiple times, and every single time, my order has been wrong. This has happened three times in a row now! They keep charging for laffa or baguette, but then send it in a pita instead because they apparently don't have what's listed. They don't follow any of the specific instructions you provide -- no customization is respected. On top of that, there's no communication or explanation from them.
