Visited for lunch yesterday with a small group between son's baseball games. Loved loved loved this place!!!!! Jess was AWESOME taking great care of us and making perfect recommendations- food and beer were incredible!!! The only think I'd say is that I was surprised they didn't add gratuity for larger parties- we always take great care of our servers, but there was another another younger team there - making a huge mess of spilled things they just left for staff to pick up- all I can hope is that they tipped better than they parented, servers and staff shouldn't have to deal with that. Went here for a few beers with family. Didn't know what to expect. They had a great variety of beers and each was very good. We particularly liked the Czech Pilsner and the Hazy IPA. I've been to many many breweries and this place was really good. The food was also delicious. I had wings, the pretzel and a burger and all of them were amazing. Drove 45 minutes to come to this place. Looking from the outside, I was a little worried coming in. Went inside it was a cool spot. I had the Oktoberfest beer which was good. We were coming into town trying to find somewhere near the hotel to eat and read the reviews. We drove past and it looked empty, but we decided to give it a chance and we are so glad we did. At first glance at the website and menus it looks promising. Weird oddity's that's remind one of college day late nights. This place is exactly what it is.. a brewery in a strip mall with crappy food and shitty beer. The only highlight if any would be the waitress. She was kind, but didn't come back to ask for another beer. Which is a compliment? All my food came at once.. I got the bbq flat bread burger.. yes one; thinking flat bread, would be an artisan toasted piece of bread right? Well what i received was a dollar tree quality slice of pita bread.. 2 actually. Floppy and saggy like an old mans balls on a hot summer day. My tater tots were smothered in cheese. Which one suspect would be amazing, But the brisket was defiantly from a can or a box. Stringy and congealed. One would ask "where does the one star come from?" That would be the lady with the guitar who did a killer cover of " Bobby McGee". There are no pictures that could go along with this rant. I just wish they was an audio feature so you could hear the horrific sounds my stomach is making 45 mins after I left this hell hole. The menu offered plenty of options to suit everyone and all attendees raved about their meals. The selection of beverages brewed on sight was amazing. Our first visit to this establishment was a mixed bag. The two IPA's I tried were both delicious. The Big Dog Tots was worth getting again with the brisket providing a wonderful smoked flavor. However the pulled pork sandwich was a big disappointment with a huge hunk of inedible hard gristle that was at least a third of the meat. The waitress said she would let the kitchen know, but didn't offer any replacement or compensation. read more

Can't complain about a new brewery close to home. We have been here twice since they have opened and both times were great. We can't comment on the food as we haven't eaten here yet. Menu is a bit strange but everything has smelled great. The beers are pretty solid for being such a new brewery and I expect them to get increasingly better. Staff seems like a bunch or friends, family, and neighbors you know, which is fine they are all extremely friendly and tentative. Great little spot to stop in and grab a pint on the way home. Big dog looks remarkably bad from the outside. It is in a strip mall but if you can gain the courage to walk through the doors you will be pleasantly surprised. The inside looks infinitely better than the outside and the food matches it perfectly. The food is a top tier local dining experience and is the BEST restaurant in the Lancaster area by far. Great brisket sandwich and the beers are great. Menu is short and simple. Only issue is it's not a kid friendly place. There is no kids menu, thus making it hard to bring little ones to eat. Had to buy my 5 year old a chicken finger order which only came with 4 and no fries. That was also separate, same with drink. 4 fingers $10 Tots $ 7 Drink $3:25. $20.00 plus tax for a child. Would be easier if a kids menu would be added. read more

Travelling for work and found this gem. The hazy IPA was one of the best i have ever had... then i ordered the Big Dog Burger and was sold. One of the BEST burgers I have ever had!!! The only disappointment was they were closed on Mondays and I was SO looking forward to another evening in this little jewel... By all means, stop by and support this up and coming brewpub!! Just had take-out from Big Dog Brewing and the food was sooo good! The french fries are THE BEST and the brisket is melt-in-your-mouth tender with outstanding beef flavor. Been here about 5 times. Last time, had chili and southwest chicken salad. BOTH were unbelievably OVER spiced! I could barely eat either dish. I should have sent the both back, but it was so busy (trivia night), I just suffered. Prompt, friendly service, variety of drinks & delicious dinner at Big Dog brewpub! While visiting Lancaster, my husband and I looked for a brewery near our hotel for dinner. We were warmly greeted by servers Allie & Anna as we settled in at the bar. They offer about 14 or so craft beers & IPAs, wine and more. A full menu had a good variety of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, wings and salads. Allie patiently made beer suggestions to me along with samples to try; I liked Oktoberfest best. We loved their 12" homemade cheese pizza ($10), which we could watch being made in their open kitchen area. Owner Dean greeted us and graciously spent time chatting with us.
