The ambiance of the spot is great, but the wings were a little small for the hype. They were decent but not outstanding. The salad was delicious and fresh. The best part was the toffee date cake dessert - It was warm and gooey and super flavorful. Go give it a try!

16th Street is GREAT if you want to get lit. There's hella bars to make bad decisions and lose your dignity. We've all been there. But, sometimes you just want a low-key place to enjoy a glass of wine and some bites.... Big Finish Wine Tavern. Opening earlier this year in March, this under the radar wine bar is serving SF affordable glasses of wine and eats. They took over Monk's Kettle. Indoor and side patio seating. Rezzies recommended. M E N U - Food: New American Menu (seasonal) - Soups, salads, apps, entrees, and desserts. - Drinks: 48 wines on tap, most glasses are $12-$15. Beer, cider, and low abv cocktails available. - HH is Monday - Friday, 5 pm - 6 pm, 10 pm - close: 7 items on the menu are discounted to $7 - $2 Wing Wednesdays I can't drink wine so we strictly came for dinner after cocktails nearby. F O O D * Brentwood Corn Soup w/ grilled corn, chopped parsley ($10): https://tinyurl.com/23rv3wct I'm a sucker for corn soup. Unfortunately, this one was underwhelming. It was watery and the sweet corny flavor didn't come through. * Pappardelle Rustida w/ piedmont-style braised pork shoulder, parmesan ($24): https://tinyurl.com/2yw8wkvj Perfectly cooked pasta with meltingly tender braised pork. I usually prefer lightly salted food but found this dish to be quite underseasoned. * Pork Chop w/ whipped taters, stone fruit, fennel, dijon molasses ($29): https://tinyurl.com/mr3ku25j - Requested medium The star of the night, the bone-in pork chop was thick and tender with a nice caramelized edges. The sweet tanginess of the nectarines, fennel, and dijon molasses complemented the rich, savory pork with the creamy mashed potatoes rounding out the dish. Came here for a little date night, and was super impressed! The restaurant is on the smaller side, but also very cozy. We sat at the bar, where we could watch the cooks make food and bartenders pour wine, I liked our spot. We each ordered a glass of wine, and both loved our choices. The wine menu is large, but not overwhelming, with lots of unique options. For food, we got the following: -trout dip - great dish, the dip was flavorful and refreshing, and the chips were the perfect pairing. -meatballs - nothing too amazing, but great flavoring on the sauce. The bread it came with was a bit burnt, making it hard to eat. -pumpkin soup- sooo delicious! The soup was thick and tasted so creamy. Loved the seeds on top for a bit of a crunch. We ordered this to share, and they separated it into two bowls without us even asking, which was seeet :) -mushroom risotto - cooked perfectly, but definitely heavy on the mushrooms. The rice could have used a bit more salt/flavor imo, but the mushrooms were great and the dish overall was a hit. Peach crisp - great dessert! The cinnamon ice cream paired so well with the crispy pear, and was a perfect way to end the meal. We finished off with a dessert wine, which was crispy and sweet, and I'd definitely get it again. The service was also amazing, and the servers were knowledgeable about everything on the menu. I was extremely happy with the overall experience and quality of food & drinks. I will be back! Oh and I LOVED the Star Trek themed bathroom, sooo cool!

Came here for date night on a Saturday and it was a really pleasant experience! We made a reservation a couple days in advance but it seems like there were open bar seats for walk in as well. Got the burrata and spring salad to start and the flat iron steak as our main. They were all really delicious but the burrata had to be our favorite! Also had some wine since they have a large selection to pair with our meal. Overall great date night spot and definitely would come back.

Stumbled upon Big Finish Wine Tavern a couple of Sunday evenings ago. For whatever reason, this part of the Mission, especially on 16th Street, has a difficult time sustaining. Hopefully, that's not the case for this excellent restaurant. This review is only about their food. I did notice the extensive offerings on their alcohol/wine menu. I wasn't too hungry so I opted for the ceviche, which was very refreshing. Corn soup was also ordered, the soup was very hearty and perfect for 2 people to share. I had a few bites of the pork chop, and that was cooked just right. No rubbery texture, just light enough to taste all the other ingredients of the entree. Service was fantastic, apologies for forgetting the person's name (he has glasses and a big knife tattoo on his forearm). He was so personable and shared stories. For a second, I thought he was the owner, but he said he wasn't. This wine bar's interior is perfect for a date or catching up with friends. Be sure to check out the restroom, cool theme. Thanks for a great dining experience, looking forward to coming back soon. #24/2025

I was visiting town and stumbled upon Big Finish when looking for a restaurant near my friends in The Mission! It certainly did not disappoint. Upon being seated, we met both the owners, Adam and Melissa, who are running the restaurant themselves along with their family! Both have been in the food industry for more than a decade, and have owned and operated several successful restaurants in the US. They were absolutely hospitable and made sure we enjoyed our food and wine during our time. We started with the two dips that were perfect appetizers to share. They were just the right size too especially if you want to save room for their large main courses. After that we ordered both the pappardelle and the corn risotto, each were so incredible in their taste and flavor. We each had several glasses of wine, my favorite being a chilled red that we finished our meal with. Their restaurant offers a warm and friendly atmosphere and their inviting spirits make you feel right at home. Definitely check out this amazing neighborhood establishment when you're looking for a new place to dine. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for a great evening!

One of the largest wines by the glass menu I've seen so there's something for everyone! Great small bites too. Really enjoyed our fresh endive salad with blood oranges and the chicken sando was delish as well. They have a nice happy hour if you're there at the right time. All around a great neighbourhood spot!

Wow! This is an amazing place! As you come in you will be greeted by the owner, Adam, who is such a kind soul. He has a genuine interest in each of his patrons and has an amazing vibe. The wine is amazing (highly recommend the Cab Franc, from France) and there are sooo many options. Wine on tap? Yes please!! The place is immaculate and pays homage to his wife, grandparents, animals, etc. The craft cocktails are on point and the food is very creative and delicious! One point... even if you do not have to use the restroom, do it anyway. It's an experience in and of itself. And an open kitchen where patrons can see the entire cooking process... amazing! I love supporting small business owners and I promise you will feel like family after visiting Adam and his epic tavern!

This is a great new spot! I went here with some friends on a Friday evening. Even though it was fairly packed inside, the staff were still very attentive and provided tons of suggestions on which wines we should try. Given that there were at least well over 40 wines on tap, I really appreciated how helpful the staff was in helping us decide what to order. I'm a big fan of sparkling water, so I was pleasantly surprised that sparkling water is offered as a complimentary option along with still water for all customers. I didn't try any of the food. But the people in my group who ordered food enjoyed their meals. Honestly, I'm not a huge wine drinker. But I'll come back if I ever want some wine because the of the friendly service and complimentary sparkling water.

Stepping into Big Finish for the first time feels like coming to your neighborhood family neighborhood bar (a la Cheers) --warm wooden accents, 48 wine taps behind the bar, fun toys from your childhood on the shelves, and friendly staff. Big Finish is approachable and inclusive with most wine ranging from $11-$14 per glass. We came in for a quick glass and found ourselves wanting to stay. We will definitely return!

Great wine selection; served at the perfect temperature and with very reasonable prices. Food (starters, dinner and dessert) was so well prepared; I usually need extra seasonings & chili flakes honey, but didn't ask for anything. The service, including the owner Adam who was actively working the full bar, was absolutely delightful and very service oriented. Beautiful wine and tapas bar that is intimate and fun - filled up with people between seven and 9 o'clock! Not gonna lie - parking is a pain in the butt in the Mission but found a spot. Will absolutely recommend!

The owners (beautiful couple). Amazing folk

Incredible dining experience. The owners are servers (see pic) and honestly I wished they dined with me and my partner :). The menu is amazing, we enjoyed every single dish that we were blessed eat. The several wines we had were absolute tonics. Vibe is tops. And the setup/decor just made me smile the whole night. Hats off to this new restaurant. Happy 1 year anniversary

Located in the legendary Mission District of San Francisco, this wine bar is a great spot to catch up with friends and enjoy small bites and yummy crafted cocktails. Their decor is very chic and I especially loved all of the hardware, glasses, tables, and benches. This place was styled by a great design artist. Even though the place was pretty packed and can be kind of noisy, I still felt very calm amongst all the healthy plants and loved the sophisticated 70s inspired glassware. Another great feature of this place is that you can buy most of the plants because they have some for sale so after a couple of cocktails, I was ready to redecorate my whole house with all the plants. I ordered a yummy Rose blend that was super crisp. Also enjoyed the Truffle Fungi! A delicious Shiitake and oyster mushrooms with parmesan and arugula on toasted bread. Their Spanish inspired potatoes were delicious with their dipping sauce. They have lots of gatherings there and DJ sets on the weekends. Lastly, a photographer would die to take pictures here. There is no bad shot as the design artist made sure every section of this cute wine bar was picture perfect. Loved all my photos and videos. I look forward to returning to this exquisite wine bar!

You get perks as a thank-you for doing your part in making the City a cleaner place. We had just had a lovely time at another participating business (Beehive) and planned on Arcana being our final stop. Thankfully I was able to use the restroom without a fee, with my gear held up outside by the security team. While waiting in the restroom line, I told a staff member about all this, and the worker seemingly went up to the front to find out what's going on. The line took a few minutes, my friends also bumped into me, and I told them I'd likely wait for them outside the business post-restroom while they finished their wine. Already reported to the Mayor's Office. Maybe I'll add BBB. Should be honest and equitable! Four out of 200+ reviews by me have been one star, so I rarely share negativity. It's all rather unfortunate as other visits here went off without an issue. I warned a group of four about all this while I waited out front, and after talking to the front door folks, they left and thanked me for the advice. Please be careful if you visit here. . . .

The people were laughing, the drinks were flowing. It smelled really good, which we would later find out was from the food especially that Mac and cheese. We started off with different wines, some that Tom recommended based on what we told him we didn't like or did like. He apologized for our previous experience and was genuinely a nice guy. Honestly it's very admirable for a business owner to take feedback to heart and want to incorporate it. Plus he's a really cool guy when you get to know him. The staff was busy running around but still made time to come check on us. Our final verdict is we came on a bad day. This time we got the actual Waystone experience. We finally got to try the chicken bites with a creamy aioli, fries with yogurt sauce, and the star of the show was the Mac and cheese. Tik tok did live up to the hype and we will have to come back for one of their jazz nights. Be warned this place gets busy! But it's worth it.

It's quiet enough to have a conversation and get lost in your own thoughts, but not so quiet that you feel awkward sitting in silence. Plus, the people watching was pretty entertaining, which definitely added to the experience. The three of us only tried two different wines. My friend ordered a glass of Masha, while my other friend and I both ordered the Los Chuchaquis. The verdict: Masha was really good. Good enough that a second glass was ordered! As for the Los Chuchaquis, I personally didn't love it. I found it a little too tannic and bitter for my taste. If you have a low tolerance for bitterness, this might not be the wine for you. That said, my friend, who ordered the same wine, absolutely loved it and thought it was delicious. So maybe I just ordered the wrong wine for my palate? ‍ Either way, the wine is only part of the experience. The energy here is fantastic, the bartender was welcoming and friendly, and the crowd was cheerful without being obnoxious, which I really appreciate. I'm not usually much of a night person, but I genuinely had a great time. It was one of those evenings that reminded me how nice it is to get out, enjoy good company, and simply soak in the atmosphere. I'm really glad I took my friends up on their offer to go out. Definitely a 5 star experience for the atmosphere, the energy, and the overall vibe. This seems to be such an interesting neighborhood.
