The last time I was at this building buying fish was literally decades ago and it went by a different name. Stopped by the other day wanting to try their fish sandwich, if they had one. Unfortunately not, so I ordered a scaled fish, Orange Roughy, w/Fries a side Macaroni Salad and Hush Puppies. The service was direct. The energy and vibe of the place (with the other Patrons) was one where you could tell most customers had a relationship with this business. Made me want to try it all the more. And it was not a disappointment at all. The Fish Batter was seasoned pretty good. Could not complain. The Coleslaw as well. Wasn't dry stale or old. Pretty fresh and flavorful. As well as the Macaroni Salad. Was not expecting it to be as flavorful as it was. Tasty. The Fries were seasoned with a slight crisp and tender bite that made the meal impressive by that point. Finally. I ordered a side of Hush Puppies as well because what's Fish without them, (they come with a couple for the combo plate). They were solid as well. I mean. I cannot complain about this meal. I seen Happy Fish going viral on social media, so of course I had to try it! They pack their plates with lots of food - they come standard with fries, hush puppies, and cole slaw. While the fish and shrimp pieces are bigger than what you typically get at a fish fry, I found the catfish to be extremely fishy & off putting (reason for 3 stars).. Went to Happy Fish for the second time because the first time was legit. This time complete opposite experience. Placed a phone order that was not only not ready when I got there but they were not tracking it at all and I had to reorder. When the young lady at the counter (with the bad attitude) took my order she put it in wrong and had to charge my card twice. When I finally got home to eat my food I was more than half way done and discovered a hair. I couldn't make this up if I wanted to. I hope this was a fluke of an experience. Plus the amount they give you, you'll have enough for seconds. I went back after several weeks to order ahead of the family gathering. When I asked how many would the family package serve. He said I don't know with a 'whatever' attitude. I asked how much fries come with it. He pointed to a container and said that, again with a rude attitude . I ordered. And on Friday when I came to pick up my order he still had the same stale, whatever attitude. He doesn't belong in customer service. The food is good, but I won't be back.
