Sunday evening my washer was running fine but it would not drain after the rinse cycle. The water just stayed in the washer but thankfully there were no leaks. I asked Yelp for a referral. Big H&A Y had the most pleasant tone in their message back to my request. They booked someone to come to my house between 0900 and 1100 that same morning. Mark U was on time for initial consult and diagnostic. He said it wasn't the hose, it was the door latch that wouldn't seal so the washer would not drain. I was so grateful that I did not have water leaking. He said he had a part in stock but he was too busy to get it and come back for install so he would call/text me on Thur. No problem. The company contacted me at 0940 and said he would come between 1600 and 1800. Unfortunately, arrived he arrived 45 minutes early without telling me and I was rushing to get home. My daughter let him in to do the work and he was done BEFORE I got home at 1600. Mark told her that i could just Zelle the business the balance as he left. I tried to run laundry around 1730 and the washer immediately started leaking water. There was no leak before Mark came to do work. So I texted the business & asked that they send someone back to fix it and I had already paid for service and parts. And I was worried about my payment since it was sent via Zelle instead of credit card. They said someone would come between 6pm & 8pm. Mark wasn't there by 8 so I texted the business again & he was to be here by 8:30pm. Mark arrived at 8:35pm. He said i needed a new hose now but I said it wasn't leaking earlier today. He installed a new one said he wouldn't charge for labor (but he was fixing HIS earlier mistake) and charged me $20 for the part, which he wanted me to pay him directly, no Big H and A. He also left water and trash on the floor. And he neglected to put these edge things back on my washing machine (see pic). It was finally working but this was not great experience. read more

Found these guys on Yelp hoping to get our Oven door fixed. Their guy came out to give a look at what we'd need. Paid the $60. They said we need to order a whole new oven door, and they said they'd order a new one and it would take about 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks I hadn't heard anything for them, so I reach out and they said they are still waiting on it. 5 weeks have gone by now and we still didn't hear anything back for them, so I reached out to them again and they now tell me the oven door is no longer available. They never reached out to tell us this earlier and didn't follow up with us at all. They cost us a lot of time and money, really wish we went with someone else. read more

My dishwasher stopped working, so I decided to call these guys based on their positive reviews here. They arranged to come quickly the next day to diagnose the problem. The service tech arrived on time and diagnosed the problem as a faulty valve and communicated the need to order the part and return. The diagnosis fee was $60 which I think is reasonable and industry standard. This fee can also be put towards the actual repair. The same service tech showed up to make the repair a few days later, also arriving on time and worked in a professional manner. The reason for the two star review is that he showed up and said the repair would be $300. I asked if there was a work order or invoice that explained what I was paying for. He said no, but they could send one the next day. Since I needed the repair made I agreed. Well long story short, the repair took 20 minutes and my dishwasher was working again. When I get the invoice it broke down the work, in what think to be a very sketchy and almost comical way. The fact that it adds up to an even $300 is the first red flag. (Although to be fair that what was quoted, and I agreed). The total amount of time spend doing the initial visit and subsequent work was not more than an hour. Second, I googled the part I was charged almost $80, and learned it's only $20-30. Do the math. It's just a little shady and this is my issue. Again, Very happy with the quick work and cordial service tech, but the whole experience just feels shady after realizing I paid $300 for a $30 part and $200 an hour service. I think they should work on providing a clear breakdown of labor and parts before doing the work. This is how most home repairs work. read more
