Do not waste your time or money here, the service sucks and your vehicle will be there for days because their mechanics are horrible. They forget to put bolts back where they belong and will leave trash under the hood and also lie about the work they did. Do not be fooled if you have a lifted truck, they do not know what they are doing and most of the guys that work there are rude. They have the talent to tackle performance issues and conversions. They can order just about anything and tire pricing will typically be aggressive. But it is a tire shop and manners may not be the highest priority on the staff's mind. They know they are fairly priced and good at their jobs. And there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Busy days will result in curt responses. But I've found that if I'm willing to be patient, the quality of service is generally excellent. If you like chain stores, stick with them. If you like local shops, this is the place for Santa Clarita. If you're like me and need both, keep their number handy. read more

I have a very bad experience with Big John, I worked as a mechanic but I didn't want to work my truck. For reasons of excessive work, I asked them to lift my toyota four runner, they gave me parts and labor. they removed the skid plate from my truck which is original for toyotas. After lifting my truck, one of the owners, Jhony, told me that this part was not original. They couldn't put the skid plate back it took two days and they couldn't Jhony and his brother suggested to me that they had a manufacturer boy and that if I wanted to put the skid plate of my truck first they charged me $ 600 to lift the truck and if I wanted him to manufacturer to adapt the skid plate they would charge me two hours of work $ 300 more of labor plus the adaptation of manufacture of the skid plate $ 200 I told them not to put it since it did not count to pay a total of $ 1100 the next day I took my truck to the toyota daeler where I acquired the skid plate and they installed it for me for only $ 100 dollars and they explained that where they did the work, their mechanic bent the part where the skid plate was installed. For me you should be careful with this workshop because if you don't know what they are going to charge, they could be stealing your money. The question is that in reality you do not need any manufacturing or charging for any overtime. I WAS a returning customer for over 14 years, only to be treated like dirt on my last and final visit. Brought my car in for basic maintenance. Paid $500+ for minor repairs, only to have my car overheat on the freeway 2 days later. This was a 2011 chevy with 75k miles at the time and had never overheated. I called to ask how this could happen if everything checked out 2 days earlier. Their response was, "I dont have an answer for you". Another $675 later and whaddya know, its all better. Came in for a alignment with my simple preferred specs. I tell them that I have camber arms/bolts and they tell me that it's no problem and will take an hour. After patiently waiting 3 hours and seeing my car rarely being touched on the alignment rack, I ask when it's going to be done and they reply "we should have charged you more for the custom alignment" with a pissy attitude. I asked for -1.0 camber and zero toe, how hard is that? If you can't do a simple alignment when the customer has all the hardware to easily do it, just tell them you can't do it. Took 4 hours to get my car back and the alignment wasn't even right. I took it to another shop because I didn't want to deal with their salty attitudes and they got it done in 40 minutes and the alignment is perfect. I should have learned my lesson the first time 8 years ago when big johns installed my tire pressure sensors upside down and cracked one on a new set of wheels causing the tire light to come on. They said my sensors were defective and then the dealership found all the sensors upside down. read more

I would rate this ZERO if I could!!!!! My wife and I needed to get a light kit installed on her car as we needed it to tow a trailer before we left on a trip to Oregon. We had 2 appts. set up with U-Haul today to do it but wanted to do it local and Big John's had said that they could do it. When we called them this morning I specifically told them that we are leaving town tomorrow morning at 5 am, so this needs to be done today.....they got the part and said no problem. We brought the car and again John told my wife if she wanted to wait and she said no, we'll come back for it.....later in the day we called to check up on it and they said that it wasn't ready yet.....as it got close to 6 pm, we called to see what was going on and they said that they never got to it as a big job came in and now we are screwed. The ruined our trip as we could have gotten it taken care of by U-haul......now we will not be able to tow on our trip and it was a horrible thing to do......they also played it off like it was our fault as we inquired about doing this days before but didn't......So to reply to that, Why did you say YOU could do it today if you couldn't! Anyway, I believe this will now ruin our relationship with them and our entire (very large family) as this was a terrible thing to do to someone......at the end of our conversation he said that it would take another hour and that would put it at 6:40 pm 40 minutes past their closing.....I think as a loyal customer, they should have stayed late to finish it....Our car was there for over 8 hours and it never left the spot my wife parked it at this morning! There are as many tire shops in Santa Clarita as there are sushi restaurants. I choose Big John's because of the friendly and honest employees. They don't push you to replace all four tires if let's say the rears or fronts still have some life in it. That's exactly what happened to me. This place will rip you off and try to make you feel like an idiot. All the guys up front act like they are hanging out at the bar. Pretty rude too. John seemed nice but almost too nice while trying to talk me into spending over 6 grand on a lift kit and new tires. When I called to ask questions about this lift kit and what customers thought about it I was treated like an annoyance. Being talked down to was the first thing, then I was asked if I'm really gonna buy the kit, and when I said I'm unsure but I really wanna pull the trigger, the guy on the phone with me says "Well I hope you do bud" and hangs up on me during my next sentence. For as long as I live in this area I won't ever go anywhere else for anything related to my vehicle. These guys are as honest and professional as you will ever come across in their line of business. They were completely honest with me and quoted me a fantastic price to fix what I thought was going to end up being an expensive repair. They could have charged me 4x the amount they did and I wouldn't have blinked an eye. They even pointed out some potential issues I may see pop up in the future with my vehicle. I cannot say enough good things about BJP! My truck had been having issues with its brakes since I had them worked on at another shop a few months ago (my first mistake). Brought it in and Rob had it looked at to discover that the last shop caused more damage than they repaired. My daughter and I were passing through Valencia CA on our way to a 10 day off-road adventure in the Sierra's when my 2006 GMC Sierra made that, oh no, clunking sound in the front end. A quick exit from Hwy 5 reviled 6 missing bolts and my half shaft hanging loose. The next morning found us at Parkway GMC where they were willing to take us right in had I not left the aftermarket BDS spacer on the 5 ! My shop in San Diego where I had the truck lifted had nothing in stock but before my panic could reach despair, Parkway had phoned Big John's who had lots of parts on hand. They were able to find the exact parts I needed and in spite of being completely over booked they installed new spacers immediately !!!! Total charge, under $ 200 !!! I would have paid far more just to get a peek at a likely spacer that morning ! They are super heros giving honest, more than fair super service ! Exactly a week from today my wife and I woke up early in the morning and drove her car into the driveway to clean her very loved aftermarket wheels to get them ready for her awesome new tires, after cleaning all the brake dust and dirt off them we were excited to get them mounted and rushed to big johns performance to have my wife's new tires put on her Toyota FJ cruiser. We arrived and were expecting it to take no longer then an hour to an hour and a half. 1 hour later they had not touched the car, two hours later they still have not touched the car! It wasn't until 2 and a half hours later that a worker came out and took one wheel off. When we were at the 3 hour mark they took a second wheel off. Then they finished the last two in half an hour. That's THREE AND A HALF HOURS OF WAITING!! Leaving big johns we were a bit upset but didn't say anything because we are just too nice I guess....but it wasn't until we stopped at the gas station 2 miles from their shop that I noticed a HUGE IMPERFECTION 12 inches long in her black rim. There was 1/4 OF AN INCH OF METAL GOUGED OUT OF THE EDGE OF THE RIM and was tried to be COVERED UP by black SPRAY PAINT!! "I will post a photo and video of the damage". We contacted big johns and told them the situation and they said to come in the next day to look at it, and we did. The following day we showed up and talked to JOSH the owners son and before we could say anything he said "I talked to my guys that worked on your car and they said they didn't scratch your rim". and we had told him we hand washed the wheels to get them looking nice for the new tires and there were no imperfections in any of the wheels what so ever. So he then said "well one of my guys painted the rim to cover the scratch to make it nicer but we didn't scratch it". Now if anyone has ever seen a scratch on a black aluminum wheel it sticks out like a sore thumb! Let alone this scratch was half an inch thick and 12 inches long! I think that would be a hard one to miss when we were washing them. So I started arguing with Josh because he started getting loud and disrespectful with me because I knew they are the ones that damaged my wife's rim. Then he really started to get mad because I wasn't taking his excuses for an answer and wanted the wheel replaced. He got so loud and verbally aggressive with me that my wife started crying! Then the owner stepped in and said we will get it fixed. But I didn't want it fixed I wanted it replaced! The wheels were expensive and not worth someone tinkering with I just to slap bandaid and some paint on it. I refused the fix and expected a replacement and they denied while JOSH was still running his mouth as the owner and I were talking. We never came to an agreement and they lost a customer due to sloppy careless working employees a loud mouth son and poor customer service. I will never return to big johns performance nor will I recommend them to anyone ever! I later purchased a new rim from summit racing and had it mounted at a way more professional working environment and made them my new go to guys for all my tire needs. Don't make my mistake and please take video of your wheels before leaving them in the care of these guys. read more

Great experience. I wanted a leveling kit for my 2014 Chevy Silverado. I called a few days before and they quoted me $390 out the door. That included alignment. 4Wheel Parts quoted me $650. It's first come, first serve so I showed up at 7am on a Saturday to find out that they had sold so many leveling kits the day before that they didn't have it in stock. The guy said if I left my truck with him he would most likely be able to get the part delivered and could get it done. He got it all done and I was driving away at 4pm. I live in westwood, but work in valencia. I got a flat tire this morning when I pulled up to work and knew it wouldn't be wise of me to drive back 30 miles to westwood later in the day on my dummy spare. I did a quick search on yelp for local tire stores and big john's had gotten great reviews. I called them up and a couple of other stores and their prices were the best. I took my car down there during my lunch break and they didn't have my tire because I drive a not-so-common sports car. But...no problem! They told me they could order the tire, have it delivered, and have my car ready by 3:30pm! Also, I asked if I needed 4 new tires but they insisted that I really didn't need to replace all of them and were kind enough to show me how to check the threads on my tires. Then they dropped me off at my work AND they picked me up from my work at 4:40pm when I was done. That's really service you can't beat. I've never yelped about anything, but feel my experience today was worth sitting down and sharing it with future unfortunate pot-hole victims. read more

I have hard to find performance tires on my car. After calling around town, I came across Big John's number and they had some tires in stock! They happened to have 'take offs' which are tires they took off another car, but they looked brand new! Needless to say, we were able to fix a dangerous situation (the sidewall on my tire was bulbing) at a VERY good price. My husband even says that he has found his new tire place. Also, the staff was incredible! They were amazingly friendly and helpful. We will probably be going back soon for some performance parts. I've gone to Big John's a bunch of times. Their reputation is that their prices are fair, and I've bought both tires and services from them in the past. I like the guys there personally, and I am sorry to write this. This is the first time in my life I actually shopped to price tires. For the three tires I priced, they were between $120 to $211 higher than another shop (just for the tires - before tax). And they wanted to charge additional money for mounting and balancing, while the other shop's price was "out the door" (i.e., including mounting and balancing). They may or may not have good prices compared to big chains, but in my opinion they have failed to live up to their reputation for low prices. I'm not going to give the name of the shop that I ultimately bought tires from. I'm not trying to bash the guys or send business to the other shop. I just think they should have to keep earning their reputation, and that buyers should exercise some diligence to get the lowest prices! read more

Just needed a tire patched for my BMW and they were so helpful and quick! Brought my car in after work and wasn't sure if they'd have enough time to get me in before closing, but they didn't hesitate. I was in and out in less than half an hour.
