Definitely would have never tried this place if we hadn't been looking for a not-fast-food stop on a road trip! I was not sure what to expect, as the restaurant is nestled in a warehouse behind a gas station right off I-90. Honestly, my hopes were not high, but we had to eat. The interior is darker with a dive bar feel and plenty of booth and table seating. The menu has your classic American food, and I went for one of the many varieties of burgers: the Hickory. The burger and waffle fries were very good; my only complaint was that the burger was a little overdone for my taste. Still juicy and flavorful though! The bacon and BBQ sauce made for the perfect savory and a bit sweet combo. The waffle fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. My dad also really enjoyed his chopped pork sandwich and baked beans, and he's a hard sell. The service was great, friendly and efficient.

It was a foggy night, so we almost couldn't find this place! It's in a warehouse-looking building, just beyond the lonely gas station, off I-90. Inside, you'll find tables & booths, a bar, a couple of big screen TVs, and a back room with video gambling. It's more of a dimly-lot bar atmosphere than a cheery family restaurant. They had specials posted for every night of the week. The server/bartender was very friendly. We ordered the meatloaf--which came with enough mashed potatoes to feed an entire continent!!--and beef tips. Both meals were hearty and tasty. We did miss having a vegetable, but we may not have had any room in our stomachs anyway! The service was quick, which was perfect since we were driving x-c on I-90.

We were traveling to Chamberlain SD and stopped here in our way thru. Great BBQ!! I had the brisket sandwich and side salad and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich and waffle fries. Both were very tasty. I would recommend this place. Also good service.

This came a option B on a Friday night. It wasn't too busy when we arrived. We were welcomed and seat yourself. Very plain decorations but plenty of televisions to watch sports. Waitress was Taylor and she was friendly. She even played with my daughter. I ordered the pulled pork dinner and serving size was generous. Cooked and flavored well. The bbq sauce tasted like baby rays so nothing special. I was hoping for a house sauce. Fries were good. The beans I didn't care for as they were too sweet and bitter. My wife loved them. She had the fireman burger and was pleased with the heat and such. Probably overcooked the burger so try a made to order next time. Fried pickles were great with the marmalade. It's so close to a 5 star. I think maybe chicken will be tried next time to see.

The business t-shirt says 'the chicken is the sh*t' and I agree. The side salad was the weakest part of the meal. Good croutons, wilted greens, and the sweet potato side was good. The brisket and the smoked chicken sandwich are both served on a long style bun. Served with no sauce which is on the table. Tender, moist, and delicious. Both types of meat were tasty. Service was friendly and efficient speed from the kitchen. Suggestions from us: Spicy dipping sauce for sweet potato fries More varieties of BBQ sauce

Service was great and the food was delicious. We both pulled pork and it was very well made. Highly recommend if you're passing through.

Big J's Roadhouse in Harrisburg, SD had a wing eating challenge held every Wednesday. There is also a location in Humboldt. Each location has a house record. Wednesday is AYCE wing night. There is no time limit. If you break the record, you receive your meal for free & $100 cash. I broke both the house record & the Humboldt record with 70 wings. I was able to try out all the different wings. The Thai flavor was my favorite. I also had bourbon, bbq, garlic Parmesan, & a dry rub. In addition, some of the wings were smoked, as they ran out of the other wings.

We ordered delivery. Jenni took our phone order and was very friendly and knowledgeable. Clayton the delivery driver was super friendly as well. The wings, ribs and brisket were great! We will for sure order again!!

We stopped at the gas station next door and decided to try the restaurant. Good service with a friendly waitress. The ribs and brisket were both very good. The brisket "melted in your mouth". I loved the fries; fried crispy with skins still on. Toast was under the fries. Salad bar came with the meal. It was okay, but no cucumbers. Best of all - EVERYTHING was served hot. I would have given the restaurant a 4 star except there were several flies.

A mecca for Single-Barrel Bourbon and all things wood-fired and smoked! My wife and I stopped in…read morefor lunch today. One look at the menu was an epiphany... a rare, if not the only, time I could not find a single item I didn't want to order. The ambience is rustic central plains frontier. The food is expertly prepared and the wood-fired and house-smoked menu items were the highlight. HIGHLY recommend! (BTW, I had the smoked biscuit with a side of bourbon glazed Brussel Sprouts..Mmmm)

March 2026 Sioux…read moreFalls, South Dakota This place has a beautiful ambience. You enter and there is a warm and welcoming fireplace to the right when you enter. Straight ahead by a large open bar, you can see the meat on the rotisserie. Restaurant is large and cozy. Dark woods, modern lighting, many booths with ample seating. Floors are concrete and many nature pictures line the walls. This place has everything from handheld sandwiches to salmon and rotisserie chicken, a broad selection of appetizers and soups and salad salads. I ordered a Guinness draft and it came in a very large glass. Many tap beers to choose from. We ordered the woodfired chicken wings, a rotisserie chicken, which is accompanied with mashed potatoes and cornbread, and my husband also ordered a cup of corn chowder. The chicken wings I thought were delicious. The flavor is smoky and pepper. Not your traditional wing, but it includes the drumstick and the wing. You get six in total. It comes with blue cheese and ranch. My husband did not care for the wings. He thought they had too much of a pepper taste. My only concern was they were not served hot. They were barely warm when they got to my table. The blue cheese dressing was basically ranch dressing with a few dry blue cheese crumbles mixed in. Not a good flavor. The corn chowder was very mushy. It had the texture of baby food. He did not enjoy it. It also was served warm and not hot. Rotisserie chicken comes out with a thigh and drumstick of dark meat and white meat. However, the chicken is very dry. Taste like rotisserie chicken should taste But nothing special. The mashed potatoes are not creamy. But clumpy. They are red skin and I love when the skin is left on the potatoes. However, they taste like a baked Redskin potato with no salt, pepper, or butter. Flavorless. The cornbread has good flavor. But again, try. There is no butter to accompany it. Might taste good with some honey or butter on the side. I love the look and coziness of the restaurant. I wanted it to be fantastic. I was extremely disappointed in the food. I tried to make it work, but with the cold food and the lack of flavor, it was a big miss. When you take a bite of rotisserie chicken, and then you need to take a drink before taking your next bite of food, you know it is dry. When in Rome do as the Romans do. When in Sioux Falls Falls do not ROAM to this restaurant. I would not come back to this restaurant. I would give it 2 stars for the food. However, Darla was our waitress and she was very kind and attentive. She gets a five star rating. But the good service does not balance out the awful food.
