Enormous and exceptional burger. 3 of us couldnt finish it...and we ordered the little 1 pounder. The restraunt is very small inside. Not a fan of the fries...too thick, and limp. The onion rings were battered and generous. A definate "MUST DO" if you are on a Boise run. read more

After taking family for a quick tour of BSU we needed to stop for a lunch. This was the right place. Great food. We really enjoyed the burgers and tots. Our waitress was happy and attentive adding to our enjoyment. This small place must really get backed up during the school year. read more

This place has some of the largest Burgers i have seem and eate m fresh ingredients put together with a lot of love. Justs makes for wonderful food and it shows so if you get a chance and are in boise look them up and stop on by. read more

I'm ashamed I didn't write a review many years ago. That's what happens when you live so close to such a great place to eat. I have eaten many a burger here, but I must admit I can't eat one of the big ones. I have to ask for a take out container. I always enjoy the atmosphere, friendly service, and pictures on the walls of all of those BSU football players that can eat the big burgers. This is the only place I have ever brought my eldest son that he couldn't eat the whole thing. I did enjoy watching him try. But eventually he raised the white flag and gave up. Our family of four kids and thirteen grand kids still love to go here for lunch. You'll agree this is one of the best anywhere. read more

"World Famous??? I ordered a mushroom bacon burger. The amount of mayo made the lettuce unnoticeable but fortunately I was able to use the mayo that slopped out of the burger to re dip into to combat how dry it was! While traveling back to Colorado through Boise, ID, I stopped at for gas and ice. I asked the cashier for a good local place for lunch. The cashier and 4 others standing in line or shopping said in unison"Big Jud's" so here I am. They have burgers and fries. Their menu has burgers like we are all used to but also has many unique burgers like a Rueben burger with pastrami, kraut, Swiss cheese, 1000 island dressing and mustard on it. I had the featured pulled pork burger which was a good-sized thick burger with not only cheddar cheese, but also full servings of pulled pork and coleslaw on it which created a very tasty combination. It was quite messy but so good. I also ordered the fresh-cut fries (I'm in ID, after all) and the fries while good, we're not necessary to fill me up. I now now why fries are sold separately and not as a combo with the burger. Judging by the size of the fries, the potato used to make my order must have been just slightly smaller than a football. I only managed to eat about 1/3 of them. You will not leave here hungry. In case you might be concerned about leaving hungry, you can have double patties on any burger - or you could order one of their one-pound burgers. That should do it. They also can be made with double patties. They have party burgers too which are giant burgers with fries & drinks to share with your friends. Definitely glad I took the recommendation to eat here. read more

I am appalled by the behavior of the management of this restaurant. Today was my final visit to Big Jud's. A new employee, Savannah, asked about the challenge and misunderstood that the single burger was not included. However, she told us it was so two of my brothers attempted the challenge. When my first brother completed the challenge Savannah was told she incorrectly told us it would be free by management. We asked if anything could be done and she went to speak with her manager Kristina. Kristina told her no discounts, no free burger. Savannah communicated this to us. My brother asked to speak to the manager. Savannah came back obviously crying and said she was paying for the burger out of her own pocket. The manager would not come to our table. The principal of this review is not the $18 burger but how the manager handle the situation refusing to come to our table and not supporting her employee. Granted we were a table of 18 customers, who came in after the Color Run, which we do annually. In addition to our random burger meals throughout the year. However, after this visit none of us will be returning. I hope the owner understands their management is a reflection of their business practices. I cannot in good conscience spend money in an establishment who cannot assist an employee in a difficult situation. Nor try to do anything to make the situation better for the customer. read more

We missed two consecutive weeks due to work finally enjoyed the Monday Big Jud's special. My husband and I split this meal and it is always filling and delicious. We get the half basket of fries and tots and a shake. So good! Can't wait for Monday night! Looking forward to our Big Jud's fix gets me through the Monday blues. read more

When I was new to Boise, everyone told me I just had to eat at Big Jud's. All my coworkers raved about Big Jud's, and my company handed out Big Jud's gift certificates as an incentive for everything so I figured I needed to try this place. With gift certificate in hand, I went with some friends to Big Jud's. We waited for over an hour on a weekday in the late afternoon for our party of four to be seated. After we were finally seated, service was so slow we considered leaving. Between the four of us, we ordered a variety of burgers and tater tots. The tots are the same thing you buy from the frozen food section of your grocery store. Nothing special; reminiscent of school lunch. The burgers were so dry we couldn't eat more than a couple bites. Bottom line: not worth the time or money. I really hope we caught them on an off day and that Big Jud's is secretly delicious. read more

Visiting from Washington and heard Juds was the place of the one pound burger. No way-Im not going to be able to take down a 4 inch frisby-that burger could feed a family. I did have the Bacon-Cheese burger and small fires. This was probably the best burger I have ever had and the french fries were awesome and unique. I came here while visiting my parents in Boise. I heard great things about it and saw that it was even on Man vs. Food, so I thought I'd give it a try. It's pretty good. Probably the best burger I've had in Boise, but I don't think its 5-star quality. I just had the regular cheese burger with fries and a shake. The burger was tasty, but not overly fantastic as I was lead to believe. The fries were thick, but I like that so it was good for me. The shake was also good, but I preferred the shake over at Bad Boys Burgers. Overall, I gave it 4 stars. I also bought a t-shirt there. Nice stuff. read more

I have loved Big Jud's for years. Authentic, classic food. But...I feel their service has slipped from the olden days and I really don't like the new building.
