The coleslaw on top was not coleslaw, that would mean a mayo and shredded cabbage. It was simply a pile of dry shredded cabbage. It would have likely been much better with actual coleslaw (definition below). cole·slaw kōlslô/Submit noun sliced raw cabbage mixed with mayonnaise and other vegetables, eaten as a salad. I was so pleased with our meal at Big Kahuna"s. We were out for a drive and decided to give this special place a try. We were told the portions were large and they were right! The salad, which we planned on making a meal was just that. We brought half of it home to enjoy later. Fresh lettuce and all the ingredients blended well. The rice bowl was a good size, I couldn't decide if I should get the plate or the bowl and decided on the bowl since it wasn't as large. It didn't disappoint. Loved the sticky rice and chicken. Used to be one of my and my daughter's favorite restaurants. She loves the tiki men. Their coconut shrimp and teriyaki chicken plate is everything. I didn't even like steak but I even ordered that from time to time. I haven't gone in about a year now because I changed my diet to pescatarianism and my stomach couldn't handle the mahi-mahi. I really wish they sold other seafood or vegetarian dishes. But don't let that deter you if you do eat meat they have so many great choices! read more

Big Kahuna Burger! I got to take a bite from my friends burger and it was amazing! Sadly I had order the chicken teriyaki bowl. Im not sure why, but I did end up regretting it. If I go back I would definitely go with the burger instead! Atmosphere was cool. Staff was okay? It came with rice, teriyaki chicken, and toped with pineapple and fresh green onions. We were offered a Hawaiian style hot sauce. It was sweet, but savory, and spicy. I liked it alot!!! My boyfriend, not so much. He's more of a Sriracha guy. He ordered the teriyaki chicken plate. It came with the chicken, topped the same way as the bowl, rice, and macaroni salad. I'm usually not a fan of macaroni salad, but this one was good. Mayo amount was perfect!!! I usually find other places saturate it with mayo. But, Big Kahuna did not. I was craving a Hawaiian burger on my day off and decided to give this spot a go. I took my mom out to lunch with me and we were both pleasantly surprised at this fast food joint. There was only one waitress there, and she was handling the front register as well as the tables. Props to her for multi tasking so well, and being so nice. I ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich and my mom got the pulled pork sandwich. All sandwiches are made from their fresh baked sweet bread and are much bigger than you can imagine. Their fries are served in a huge basket, and the regular size is perfect for two people. I was shocked when they didn't have tarter sauce, since on the islands, all Mahi Mahi sandwiches come with a side just in case you need it. I am a sauce kind of girl, so I was saddened at the thought of no tarter on my burger. When I got my sandwich, I bit into it, and it was so juicy just by itself, that I didn't even miss the sauce.
