We've been co here for 7 years and have always found the people who work here to be fast and professional. Wow Lana, Big O Tires and Mr Speights are REACHING FOR THE STARS on this one. I dont have another mechanic and Big O tires was my first stop. I told Mr. Speights that unless the relay was pulled the cooling fan stayed on. Big O did a diagnostic and called me and said that yep it was my cooling fan that was bad. That lasted 1 day before problem came back. I inquired about a refund and Mr. Speights said "no", as this was a starting point. Big O did more diagnostic checks including fuse box housing and determined that it was my ecm and Mr Speights was 90 percent sure that this would fix my problem. I ordered one from New York for $190 changed it myself vs $950 that Big O wanted. Guess what? THAT STILL DIDNT FIX THE PROBLEM. I Have since located the problem. Its a short in wiring harness. The cooling fan assembly should never have been changed without starting with ecm and working your way out. (as ecm is attached to wiring harness.)You mite have found the short. Love these guys! They do it again! Thank you Clint for being such a help this morning! Had a nail in my tire that could not be fixed and I have AWD which normally means a new set. The tires I had were under a year old and he was honest enough to tell me if I can get the same exact tire I could replace just the one because of the great tread on the other 3. He didn't have my tire in Stock and sent me across the street to see if they did (which they did) and he said if they didn't that he would get one for me today. I have to start off by addressing the man that always greets me with a smile and a warm welcome! Clint is the only reason why I continue to service all my vehicles at this location. He has saved me time and money with preventive measures and great details on which tires to use for which seasons. He is an expert in the auto industry and I will always come to him first. I have been going to this location for 10 years and will definitely continue to use them as my top priority car repair. The other staff are very welcoming and informative. Clint's leadership, guidance, patience, wisdom, and overall professionalism is the type of leader I look for when it comes to service. I came in the day before Christmas and he made sure to take care of as many customers as possible while never loosing eye contact and focus on the customer in front of him. When Clint is not available (which is very rare, I've only not seen him 7 times in 10 years astonishing consistency!) Nate is the next best option. Very friendly and a smile that makes you feel like he's happy to see you. Nate is always on the go, directing orders, in and out the garage, assisting customers, training employees etc. These two are the Lebron James and Dewayne Wade of Colorado car services! Came in this morning at 8:30 for tire that was leaking air and was told by the guy that it would be about an hour. I gave him my number which he confirmed he had the correct number and told him I was going down the road to get a bagel and he said he would call when done. Two hours later still no call or voicemail left. Went back and who know how long it had been done. I was clearly frustrated. The gentleman who helped me asked the first guy who helped me if it was done because I didn't get a call and he just shrugs and told him he tried but couldn't reach me. No apology or anything. Judging from his attitude, he wasn't concerned. I'll be replacing my tires in the fall and won't be coming back here. We probably should have heeded the bad review provided by YELP and even our own past experience but thought, 'how could they screw up tires?' Well, they can. And everything else. On a previous experience, they put a tire on a small trailer and the valve was broken so we drove all the way to the mountains with a flat. This time around, we got 4 new tires, brake repair and oil change. Got back home and found the lug nuts were not tightened down and today, we discovered a leak in the drain plug. Plus, we found their customer service to be pretty bad. Very unattentive and dismissive of our comments. Won't be going there ever again and I highly suggest no one else does either. read more

I was stressed out from the holidays and knew I could use some professional help from the people at this location, getting some maintenance done on my vehicle. Unfortunately I didn't receive the "help" I needed, instead found damages to my vehicle. I had brought my concerns to Bailey's attention after realizing the damages that were found after receiving my vehicle back. I was extremely thrown off since he stated he was the manager and Bailey was extremely unprofessional and rude about my concerns. After being disrespected and talked down to, my concerns were not resolved. My family and I have been coming to the Big O Tires off hampden and tower for over 10 years, so I was extremely upset that Bailey had ruined this experience for me. I most definitely will not be bringing my vehicles back for any services nor will I recommend this location any longer to family and friends. Bailey made this simple maintenance experience into a nightmare. Giving the 1 star rating was the only way I could post my Review otherwise I'd give them zero stars. read more

Tower/Hampden Big O location charged me $80.00 to change out my snow tires to summer tires, but the amount agreed to at snow tire purchase time was $60. Found out when I picked the truck up. My bad for not re-confirming when I scheduled the rotation, not worth $20. But when I mentioned it to the owner, he told me the pricing's been the same for 2 years. I challenged that, because I was told in 11/2020 that the prices was $60, and I trust his staff's promises. I mean, that's kinda what a relationship with a car mechanic needs to be about...TRUST. Then while shuffling through his computer, he mentioned he's had to adjust pricing for COVID-19. Ummm, the truck was purchased at the outset of pandemic, and tires were purchased 11/2020. I fail to see how the inflated prices this location charged for tires the past year wouldn't make up for this difference in what should be FREE service to a loyal customer. Yes loyal. We've spent over $8K on tires and mechanic services at this location since 2014. As for the tire swap, the snows weren't wrapped, nor were they marked for rotation next time. Owner's response to my Big O survey? He had his store manager call me, couldn't even do it himself. SMH, go somewhere else for your tires and never let this guy touch your car, trust me! read more

He takes it to big O and they tell him he needs over $750.00 worth of repairs. I always use Brakes Plus on dayton and Havanna, so I told my husband take it to Lowell for a 2nd opinion. They are so honest there. So we ran it up there, and guess what, all that was wrong is when Big O did the oil change they did not tighten down the oil filter, they could have ruined the engine in our truck, and could not even own up to their mistake and wanted to screw us out of another $800.00. My husband and I have been customers with Big O for 10 years until yesterday November 13, 2021. We took our 2014 Ford Focus in to the Tower and Hampden location for our routine oil change and tire rotation, also wanted to find out why our back up lights and sensor were not working. We dropped the car off, and received a phone call from Joseph Appleman (the owner's son) stating that the car was complete to pick it up. We paid our bill, but before we left we checked to make sure that the back up lights and sensor were actually working, (they were not) so my husband went back to tell them. They pulled our car back into the bay and two technicians were looking at the back lights when we left. A short time later my husband received another phone call from Joseph stating that the work actually never did get done on the back up lights but his mechanic had signed off on it anyway, (of course that did not sit well with us), but they told us they would refund us for what we had paid. We went back to Big O to pick up our car, however they still had it in the bay working on it and Cliff (another service manager) told us we could leave and they would call us when they were done, so again we left. It was 4:45pm and we still had not heard from anyone, this was concerning as closing time at this location is 5:00pm on Saturday's. We drove back up to Big O and noticed our car in the parking lot with the hood up. Bill (another service manager) told us that something happened and they were not able to get our car started. Of-course, that news was extremely troubling as it was running when we dropped it off!!! My husband and I were upset, Bill continued to tell us there was nothing that could be done, and we would need to leave our car there a couple of days. We told Bill, that was not acceptable that I need my car to be able to get to work Monday morning, we told them that they should provide a rental car with my car not able to start, they continued to say they can not do that, and there is nothing that can be done for us and this inconvenience. Bill called the owner, Dan Appleman and from the beginning of the conversation with my husband Dan was extremely rude and unprofessional with my husband, he ultimately told my husband that he did not give a damn and we could have our car towed off of the property, he simply did not want to be bothered and didn't care. IN MY OPINION, this is the worse type of customer service! We all make mistakes, but own up to it and at least try to make it right, especially for long time customers. WE will never give our business to this BIG O again, and BE FAIR-WARNED you should not take your vehicle to this location ever because as Dan Appleman stated very clearly and loudly "I really don't give a damn"! read more

August 24, 2021 I took my BMW to Big O Tires - Tower #6216, 18431 E. Hampden Avenue, Aurora, CO for four new tires and an alignment. (The technician who performed the services was Jake.) After the work was complete my husband noticed all four of the wheels were deeply scratched and gouged around the outer edge. The next morning, I called and spoke with the manager Bailey, he was very concerned and wanted to see the vehicle. He thought possibly the marks were from the grease they use for installation of run flat tires and offered to look at it and see what he could do. Bailey met me in the parking lot, inspected the wheels, and told me that it was not from the alignment or the tire installation, but rather "road rash" and from "hitting curbs." The few small black marks were grease and easily removed with a rag and degreaser. As he was cleaning the wheels, I told him I could not believe I would not have noticed such damage on all four wheels. I am very careful and baby my BMW, people even tease me about it. He kept reassuring me that it was nothing done in the shop during the tire mounting or alignment. All the while I just couldn't believe it because I am so particular about my car and it is rarely driven. I have viewed photos taken a couple weeks prior of my car and zooming in on the wheels there is no visible damage that I can see. I have to disagree with Bailey's assessment that the gouges, scrapes and damage are due to "road rash" and "hitting curbs." With gouges that deep one would remember hitting a curb hard enough to sustain such damage, and I do not recollect any such incidents. Also, the damage is on all four wheels, typically damage due to hitting a curb would be on the passenger's side. The direction of the scrapes and gouges are also not consistent with a collision with a curb, they are coming down from the tires. I have always taken my BMW to Schomp, which is further away from my home, unfortunately I chose to go to Big O Tires - Tower #6216 for the convenience and to save a few hundred dollars. Not at all worth it! Now I have 4 damaged wheels (which will be very costly to replace with original BMW wheels) on an otherwise perfect vehicle. I do not recommend Big O Tires unless you do not care about expensive damages that may result due to their negligence. read more

Taken my car there for tires and oil changes for a 1 1/2 years, Never again. Had an oil change a month ago hadn't moved it fora week or found oil under engine, thought it was a loose filter , tightened it up. A week or so goes by noticed still leaking, got under car to find oil drip under filter. Took car back in to change a bad filter, they said it will be a while, I said no problem I'll wait. About ten minutes latter they come to me saying it's not the filter it's my A/C compressor. They said they could get a compressor put in, but I declined and would handle that myself. It's only worth going to this location if you're dealing with Clint. I've been going here for 18 years because of Clint but after today I will not be returning. It's unfortunate because I have always taken care of my cars and have thrown a lot of money towards their store over the last 18 years for any and all maintenance on my 3 cars. I set up an appointment on Monday for today to get just a basic inspection. Check the tires, fluids, shocks etc. I walked in and told the guy (supposedly big manager of store) I had an appointment and he looked at me like I was lying. Once he looked it up "I can see the notes Clint left, what exactly are we doing?!" I told him "an inspection to check mainly the fluids, tires, shocks/struts and any other basic items they can get to." He cut me off and he looked at me again "BUT WHAT ARE WE DOING?!?!" The last 3-4 times I have been the customer service towards me has been subpar at best. Their customer service definitely reflects the owners attitude. So I said "Go get Clint since he's made this appointment, I'm not dealing with somebody getting loud with me." And he refused. So I said "Go get Clint or I need to take my car somewhere else to get it looked at, I don't have time to argue." Then he looked at me and said "Ok, Bye." Once someone starts talking to you slow like you're an idiot or don't speak English that says a lot about the type of person they are. I went to the one on Chambers and Iliff and within 45 minutes they told me the car was in good shape. Didn't take any explanation at all to complete the inspection... as it shouldn't. I told them let's go ahead and do some tires. The guy mistakenly told me they had sumitomo tires in stock so he discounted some big o tires about $150 for me to match the sumitomo price. I will continue going to that one because they seemed like they wanted to help. So not only did the Hampden and Tower store lose a customer they lost a sale. This is a decent, local shop for maintenance and repairs. When I went to buy a new set of tires, I found that they were willing to match the price from TireRack and perform the installation cheaper than what I would've otherwise paid. If you don't want to be upsold, my suggestion would be to find the tire you want to buy and the price you want to pay, then contact them to work out a deal. I've also had them install new shocks and struts and new brakes and have no complaints. That said, I've had a few minor issues with oil changes and other things. Twice I've had to return to have them replace the seal because oil was leaking from the drain plug after an oil change. I'm not sure what's up with this- it hasn't been an issue otherwise. My one piece of criticism would be that they seem to have capacity issues and could greatly benefit from hiring an assistant or something in the front of their shop. I made an appointment online for an oil change- the confirmation email says they will call to confirm, but they did not. After changing the oil, they said they'd call but never did, so I just returned to the shop after a few hours. Then I had to wait 15 minutes to pay and get my keys back. Again, this seems like something that could easily be resolved. I would give them 4 stars if this aspect of their business improved. read more

I took my car here last week because my tire was leaking air. I was told that the seal was broken and the issue had been fixed. Yesterday my tire pressure was low again. I brought it back just to get the air topped off. I parked near the air machine. Some guy walks out and greets me with "what's up". I tell him I just need some air. He rudely tells me to pull my car up. I comply with his request and get out of my car. He begins to stare at me. Because of his terrible attitude I ask if I should just take my car somewhere else. He rudely snaps back that his guys will do it but it's going to be a while because they're busy. I got back into my vehicle and went to another shop. This man was incredibly rude! read more

I asked the manager if an appointment time is just a suggestion as I was on time (5 minutes early). I was given a little attitude saying that they are busy (with paying customers). Took my brandy new car to get some rubber installed. Got all 4 of my wheel scratches multiple times in multiple areas. I know and understand that there is a chance of scratching wheels when they change tires, but damn ALL FOUR of them? And they were deep scratches, paint chips, and parts of the metal came off. Went here on a Friday at about 830 and got in right away. I needed an oil change and a break check. This location is better than others that I have been to. Other Big O's have tried to talk me into many unnecessary and costly services. Here, an employee provided me with a print out of recommended services based on mileage but did not pressure me to get anything done. They also explained that my brakes were fine for now and when to check them again. They have a waiting area where you can have complimentary coffee or bottled water while you wait. There are also windows here so you are able to view the vehicles while they are being worked on. I was in and out in about 40 minutes - awesome! One thing I did not like about this location. The gentleman at the front desk was openly abrasive with the mechanics on the floor and in the garage. It made the whole experience a bit uncomfortable. read more

Not sure what happened, had a 10am appointment for an oil change, got there and checked in 15 minutes early, didn't get out of there until just after 11am. Specifically asked to have fluids checked and was confirmed by service writer. As I was late getting out of there I did not open the hood and personally check fluids. Opened the hood and checked this morning and was down washer, antifreeze, and brake fluids. Will I go back to this location? No. read more

Posted this review on their website but their bot blocked it because I didn't give them a 4 or 5 Star. I left my vehicle with them for 8 hours and nobody bothered to take a look at it. I called the store 2X during that time frame and no reason or explanation was given to me. I had to pay for a Lyft to go pick up a vehicle that they did not work on. Not to mention the fact that it was my day off and they had me homebound all day. The Assistant manager told me in person that his master tech called out that's why they couldn't work on my car...Really for 8 hours? And I told him that they've lost my business for good!
