They treated me well from the beginning and were able to look at the car within the hour (unlike the other shops who wouldn't even inspect it until the following day). They explained the issue to me, informed me of my options, and were patient as I decided what to do. They quoted me honestly and when I came in to pick up my car, it ended up being LESS than what they'd originally said. That never happens. Even more importantly, they fixed my car and I was able to make it to Miami FL with no other problems!! They even made sure to get it done quickly so I could get on the road. I'm so very thankful I took my car to Ellis, they made a stressful situation bearable with their good, honest work!

My family and I have been taking our vehicles to this location for a long time, and unfortunately,…read moreafter this experience, we will no longer be giving them our business. Used to be a family-run operation, but since being acquired by a larger auto repair chain, my experience has been completely different. What concerns me most is the pricing, communication, and some of the recommendations I received. A 4 months ago, I brought my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder in for a leak. I was told it needed a rack-and-pinion replacement and was quoted approximately $3,100. I understand that my vehicle is older and repairs are inevitable, but $3,100 seemed excessive, especially considering the value of the vehicle. I decided to get additional opinions. I received four other quotes, all $1,500 or less out the door for the same repair. That should have been the point where I took my business elsewhere. However, because my family had been customers here for years and I knew Jim, the mechanic/manager, I decided to give them another opportunity. Later, I was told my rear differential needed to be replaced. I was initially quoted approximately $5,000 for a complete new rear differential. I was then told they had supposedly been sent a front differential from Nissan by mistake. The following day, I was informed that a new rear differential was not available, so they would instead install a used differential, reducing the price by approximately $1,000. Nearly two weeks after I originally dropped off my vehicle, I received another call, this time from an employee named Nico, telling me they had discovered that the bearings were bad. What really bothered me was being told that they could simply put the bad bearings back in because I had mentioned I was considering selling the vehicle after the repair. I found that suggestion extremely troubling. I could not knowingly sell someone a vehicle with bad differential bearings, so I authorized another $800 for new bearings. By that point, I felt I was already too financially committed to the repair to start over somewhere else. My frustration isn't because an older vehicle needed repairs. I completely understand that a 2008 vehicle will require maintenance and expensive repairs from time to time. My issue is the combination of the pricing, changing information, delays, and the suggestion that bad bearings could simply be reinstalled if I planned to sell the vehicle. Another thing that made me uncomfortable was seeing employees at the front counter promoting financing/lines of credit after customers receive very expensive repair estimates. I've never personally experienced that approach at an independent repair shop before, and combined with everything else that happened, it left a bad impression. I strongly recommend getting multiple independent estimates before authorizing any major repair here. I did exactly that with the rack-and-pinion repair and found a difference of roughly $1,600 between their quote and several other shops. It's disappointing to write this about a business my family trusted for years, but after this experience, they've lost our business. At this point, I believe what occurred goes beyond simply being dissatisfied with the price of a repair. Based on the pricing discrepancies, the changing explanations regarding the differential, and especially the suggestion that known bad bearings could simply be reinstalled if I intended to sell the vehicle, I have serious concerns about whether these business practices are appropriate and lawful. I am documenting the entire experience, including estimates, invoices, dates, and communications, and I intend to pursue this matter through the appropriate channels. I am exploring complaints with the appropriate Colorado consumer-protection and automotive regulatory authorities. I am not making these statements lightly. My family trusted this location with our vehicles for years. I believe consumers deserve honest recommendations, transparent pricing, and clear communication--particularly when repairs involve thousands of dollars and people's ability to safely keep their vehicles on the road.

They gave me video's/documentation of their inspection and discovered that the oil plug was not properly tightened. They Steam cleaned the mess in the engine bay and surrounding areas. Then they replaced the oil plug and gasket, filled it with the proper oil and inspected the engine bay to ensure everything was up to spec. With my wife being disabled this could have turned into a very bad situation. With their video and documentation that was given to me I was able to present the evidence to their competitor for a refund of everything involved. Thank you Christian Brothers Automotive.

Would not recommend bringing your vehicle to this CBA location…read more I originally brought my Honda CR-V in June because the check engine light had returned with a P2138 code related to the APP sensor. They diagnosed the vehicle, reset the light, and were unable to get the code to return. They then added oil to test for excessive internal oil consumption and told me to return in a few weeks for additional testing. When I returned about three weeks later, it seemed like they were unaware of why I had brought the vehicle back, despite having specifically been told to return. They performed another round of testing and said the vehicle had failed an oil-consumption test, but that additional testing was still needed. This was frustrating, as this was already my third visit for the same issue. I also noticed inconsistencies between their courtesy inspections. The first inspection claimed I needed new brakes, bad struts, a coolant flush, and several other services--even though I had recently replaced the brakes. The second inspection, just a few weeks later, said the brakes were good, the struts were fine, and the coolant was fine. This raised concerns about the accuracy and attention to detail of their inspections. On my third visit, they performed a borescope inspection of the cylinders and recommended a $10,000+ engine replacement, claiming an intake valve was stuck open and had caused significant damage to the piston. This diagnosis seemed questionable given that the vehicle had no misfires, major knocking, or check engine lights other than the original APP sensor code, and I regularly drive it about 40 miles a day without any major issues. I decided to get a second opinion from a family friend who is a master technician with over 40 years of experience. After inspecting the engine, he stated that it was "in great condition for its age." The supposed piston damage CBA pointed out appeared to be the factory valve-relief indentations in the piston, which are there by design. When I brought this information back to CBA, they changed their explanation and claimed the indentations were not positioned correctly, despite appearing symmetrical. Overall, this experience left me with very little confidence in their diagnosis or inspections. I originally chose this location because it was close to my home, but I will not be returning and would recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere.

Overpriced, dishonest, late and shoddy work…read more We had the misfortune of having a car break down on a Saturday, transmission, and they were the only place open that was within distance. It took them a week longer to get the work done than we were originally told. Once they finally installed the transmission, we were told that it came with a faulty sensor, and that they would have to get the part from Honda. They then charged us for the faulty sensor that came with the transmission -- almost $300. The initial quote for a new transmission was $10,000 parts and labor. They said that they could get a certified, refurbished one and drop the price to closer to $8,000. We chose to go with the certified refurbished transmission (while we were waiting for the work to be done, 4 hours after we showed up -- and it was still the next day before they finished it -- the manager was talking to us and saying that a brand new transmission for the car would have been $16,000 -- even though 2 weeks before he had quoted us $10,000). The final bill, with the other things they added on, was $9,700 (which turns out to be significantly more than what we were told and more than other shops would charge). They also told us a list of things that needed to be dealt with that were problems with the car. I was curious simply because I heard three other customers being told that they had similar issues that needed to be dealt with. Driving the car the next day, there was a weird squeaking sound. We took it to another shop to see if they could diagnose the problem -- a number of the bolts holding the transmission were loose! They tightened them up and the sound disappeared. Not only was the work very late and overpriced, it was shoddy. We also asked this shop to check the other issues that Saul's Autotek had said were issues that needed to be addressed, and we were told that those "issues" were fine.
