Concord, California I went to this location because I literally worked across the street. I thought for sure that I needed brake replacement, but after they examined my car they stated the brake wear was minimal, and the "squealing" was from accumulation of dirt in the rotors. They could have charged me for a brake job, but instead I got an honest assessment. I've since been back for new tires and oil changes and have had no problems. Great job Big-O in Concord California. While driving around today I noticed a difference in my vehicle and upon visual inspection thought my tires might be low or going flat. Luckily, I was a block away from Big O Tires. I am new to the area and loved finding a regional company and locally owned business. The owner checked my tires and seemed happy to do it! During the inspection and airing up of my tires I learned one of his employes has worked for him for 30 years! That says a lot about the employee and employer. That is the type of place I want to spend my money because I trust them and they seem like good people. Glad I needed air in my tire. I will be back for new headlights this summer, they gave me a fast quote and fair price. Turns out they do oil changes, alignment, brakes and other common maintenance issues. Excellent service. They took care of my flat tires twice after I ran over a nail. Charged me only $20. The young lady even made coffee for my husband when she realized that the pot was empty. Counter person Dan was courteous and tried hard to expedite without trying to sell me a new tire. Honest shop. read more

Went in last night to have the tire pressure in my car checked, I had a warning message on my car of low tire pressure. The technician first said it could be because of the cold weather, I said that Monday morning the light came, after commuting from Brentwood to the Concord Bart station the light was still on, and the same thing for Tuesday, so this should have told him that it wasn't because of the cold weather, he proceeded to check the tire pressure then said they are little low but I don't see that you have a flat (well duh!!!! I could have seen that, did I have stupid written on my forehead) and he said they could use some air. He then turned his back on me and proceeded to greet a customer that he seemed to know. Didn't offer to put air in my tires, just left me standing there wondering what he was going to do. I won't go here again, I'll take my service to Les Schwab where they will put air in at no charge. read more

This place is HORRIBLE, DO NOT GO THERE!! A few days ago my wife drives in to get a new tire, a few days later, there is a bunch of wheel wobble, and it's making alot of noise. they told her when she got the tire, she needed to brakes, BS, the brakes where done last year - she drives 8,000 miles a year. In any case, it turned out the car needed new wheel bearings, it takes one hour to replace the wheel bearings on one side, and they charged her $188.00 - BS#2, then as they removed the rotor to get to the wheel bearing, they told her she needed a new rotor, when asked why, they told her the wheel bearing melted onto the rotor and they couldn't get if off - BS#3, I asked them to take a photo of it and email it to me - the manager immediately got defensive - BS#4. #1 don't compromise safety to make a dollar, #2 don't take advantage of women, #3 don't treat customers as if they are STUPID. I recommend that NO ONE DOES BUSINESS THERE!! You'll be sorry. BAD BUSINESS ETHICS!! I reported this branch to the BBB. I hope they get shut down!!! read more

I came here to have four new tires put on my Focus, Dan our service representative recommended the Uniroyal tires. We left and returned three hours later to pick up our vehicle. Our first concern was that the rims we dirty, and Dan said that would come off, why didn't they take the time to clean the mess they made?, Then my husband noticed the green stems and comfirmed that it was nitrogen in the tires, which I didn't ask for our want, and Dan did not inform me prior to putting on the tires. So once we got the car home and were washing off all the grease and crud on the rims we found the damage on the rims where the scocket puts the lug nut in the hole on the rims and they are chipped, not just one rim but two. So now not only do I have to pay some one for nitrogen if my tires get low, and I have to repalce my rims at $ 130.00 each plus labor. I will never return. read more

Left it there for an hour, when picked it up they said they fixed the tire and everything is done...my tire pressure was all over the place.. One tire was at 40 two at 30 one at 24...so upsetting and the tire wasn't fixed of course:( read more

I had a flat today and they fixed it for free because it was one of their tires! I seriously did not expect that. big0 clayton rd i purchused 4 tires wich wernt cheep about 200 each a couple of years ago havent used them much still in great shape i got a flat wich was coused by a nail they said they could not fix it because it was too close to the wall of the tire wich i thought it wasnt it was still on the bottom of the tire so they tried selling me a new one i wanted a second opinion. so then i ended up going to american tires and asked them they saids i was close but it should still be ok they patched the tire and didnt charge me i was amazed good job guys at american tires. i tipped read more

This review is for the store on Concord Ave, but I've the same problem at this store on a different vehicle. You cannot put different diameter tires on the same car. My girlfriend went into the store on Concord Ave this morning with a flat and was told that the spare which was 1 inch in diameter smaller would be fine to drive on "for quite some time". Are you kidding me that's like wheel 101. Save yourself and your wallet pains down the road and go to America's Tire or where ever for that matter just not Big O! Hopefully I just need to replace her tire now and not a rear end and tire. read more

I dropped by Big O Tires because the used car I just bought has a tire pressure sensor and it kept going off. Though the tires were not purchased by Big O, they added air and leveled the pressure in each tire, as well as inspected the tires for wear, etc. They said they are in good shape and I wouldn't need to replace them for a while. I asked how much I owed them and they said nothing and if I wanted I could drop in monthly to just have them check the air pressure. What a great bunch of guys! I will definitely purchase my next set of tires from them. read more

They have never tried to sell me parts/services my car didn't need and I've never been talked down to (greatly appreciated!) I went there in May of 2012 to get a tire fixed. The nail was in the tread and it was repairable but I was told that the car had been driven too far when flat. However, the tire never went flat. They showed me some rubber dust that was inside of the tire and said that the rim wore the sidewall and the tire is no longer safe to drive on. I asked them to put the tire back on the rim and I would shop around for another tire- I'm always looking for the best deal and was willing to pay them the $20 that they charge for fixing a hole in the tire. I was told that they couldn't put the tire back on and that I needed to buy a new tire. I would have put the spare on and driven off but I had a 13 month old with me. The only reason I went there was because they had previously fixed a tire (broken valve stem) for free when I stopped by the store in my work truck- I work for the State of California. I thought that fixing the tire for free was cool which is why I went back and the reason I gave two stars instead of one. However, I didn't like the feeling of not having the opportunity to shop around for a replacement tire at a better cost- kind of like being bent over a barrel I have found better tires at a cheaper place less than 2 miles away). Ultimately, I won't go back to Big O Tires again. Even if the tire was bad because it had rubbed against the rim I didn't like not being given the option to go somewhere else to look for a better tire. read more
