People here are incompetent. Took my car in for an hour change and to have headlight and brake replaced. After 3 hours, they came back and said the lights were working fine and didn't need to be replaced. I went and showed them the lights that were out. How hard is it to determine if a light bulb is working or not? Well, 3 days later the headlight goes out. Called to tell them this and that I needed to get it replaced but they have refused to return my calls. Pathetic. read more

I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to this place. I took my car in for new tires and new rear shocks. After spending nearly $1,000, I was disappointed that the rear of my car started making very unusual noises very soon afterward. I took the car back and they promised to look it over thoroughly. Ken, the manager, informed me that they did not find anything wrong. Within a day or two of my SECOND visit to this location, the noises came back worse than ever! Luckily, I have all of it captured on my car dashcam video, from soon after the installation to the subsequent times following their inspection and "fix". Ultimately, I decided to take my car to a trustworthy Certified Mechanic. Within 5 minutes he discovered that a bolt which connects the right rear shock to the frame was installed crooked and was not sitting flush or tight to the frame. This is what was causing the grinding and creaking. After this $65 inspection, I went BACK to Big O to have them repair it. I arrived around 5:15pm on a Friday afternoon and they told me it was too late to even look at it, even though they didn't close until 6pm, and to bring it back in the morning. So I arrived around 7:30am the next morning and spoke with Ken, whom I had been dealing with since the beginning. I was obviously upset at this being my THIRD time in their shop due to their negligence. When they pulled my car into the bay, I went out to show them exactly the bolt in question, which had been clearly identified with red paint by my mechanic the day before. I told him that the bolt had likely been stripped due to the improper installation. After driving on it for the last two weeks there is a good chance the point of install on the frame is damaged. Who knows if the frame will even hold the next bolt securely, depending on any damage to the internal threading. I said that I wanted the damaged bolt returned to me and with a smug smile says, "Oh, of course, it would be my pleasure." Please, just say yes and don't condescend me. An hour later, Ken came back in and admitted to the improperly installed bolt but said they would need the car for 3-4 hours to fix it. Given that this is my only means of transportation and it was a Saturday, I already had plans (not knowing I was going to be stuck at Big O for the third time in less than a month). I told him that I needed it done sooner. He said it was not possible, but I could bring it back another day. WHAT?? He broke my car, but now I have to operate around his timeline. Finally he offered to rent me a car...next week! Again...WHAT?? I told him I wanted a rental today to which he replied, "No one is open, so it will have to be next week". Strange that I got online just minutes after I left and found two Enterprise Car Rental shops within a mile of this shop that were open 9-noon and 8-3pm on Saturdays. When I asked if he could have the rental ready for me first thing Monday morning before I go all the way downtown for work, he said that he couldn't call to order a rental until Monday morning (again...TWO shops open for business within a mile that could have taken the reservation and had a car waiting on Monday). He offered to have someone from his shop come pick me up at my office, but frankly, I don't want them driving my car. I've already seen the damage they can do with simple tasks. So, now I'll have to make a special trip and take time out of my work day next week to accomplish this. The whole time our discussion is taking place he keeps saying, "Ma'am, I'm not trying to fight with you." But he also has not apologized even once for the negligent work his crew did nor the damage they have caused to my car. And he is certainly not willing to go out of his way to make my life any easier, considering none of this was my fault! I've already taken time out of multiple days and spent extra money to have my car inspected properly. This guy could care less and it seems his only goal is to make me feel like what I ask for is unreasonable. YOU BROKE MY CAR!! All I'm asking is that you take some responsibility for the action of your employees and a willingness to go above and beyond to fix it. read more

I had an oil change and tire rotation two weeks ago. Was told by Big O that my rear brake pads were down to 2 mm and MUST get them fixed. I chose to take them to my regular mechanic who said my brake pads have 75% life LEFT! read more

Thanks for the amazing service! After a day of bad luck my brother-in-law pointed me in the direction of this Big O Tire store to get my flat repaired. I was immediately greeted by Ken Gildsdorf, the manager who took care of my problem right away. After inspection they were concerned that my tire wouldn't be able to be repaired. They took the extra time needed to determine they could indeed fix the flat instead of trying to sell me a new tire. The best thing of all was they repaired the flat for free even though I hadn't purchased the tires from them (new car) just because my step-son worked at the Fort Collins Big-O. He said that's part of being family. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone that is need of any service they offer. Thanks again Ken and to your staff as well. read more

i would have given them 3 stars for being fairly friendly and efficient in repairing a tire and putting it back on the car... however, the next morning there was a puddle under my car. I found the cap to the radiator reservoir laying under the hood and the reservoir was empty. i called them and they offered to "top it off" and showed no surprise that this had happened. i also noticed that a belt under the hood squeals that had not before. When i asked them why they were under the hood for a tire repair, he argued with me that they would never open the hood for tire work. well, that cap didn't magically take itself off. i also discovered that they just threw the spare tire in the well in the trunk on top of the jack so the floor of the trunk isn't level. i will not recommend this place to anyone and will never return. read more

The service is excellent from Ken and his whole staff. I had bought tires there a few months ago and went in for an oil change. I had to come back because my check engine light was on and they re-looked at everything and explained the potential reasons it had come on and then reset it free of charge. Great service! read more

My family members have had issues with this location in the past. However it has been a while and I was hoping the staff had changed so I decided to give big o another chance. This was a huge mistake on my part. The same "manager" who helped me was the same person who literally asked my partner if he wanted to fight in the parking lot due to him asking additional questions and not appreciating the way he was talked down to. This type of toxic masculinity in intolerable especially in the service industry. He also wrote a review and got no response or apology. As for my experience I took my car in to get the tires rotated and brakes replaces. Needless to say I spend a good chunk of change as this establishment. The day I drove my car home it starting making a terrible noise. The whirring noise worsens as I accelerate. I brought my car back in wondering if something had been missed when fixing my breaks and rotating my tires. They claimed that they had done nothing to effect this, that it is not weird that the second I got my car back from getting "fixed" that this issue occurred and wanted to charge me another $500 to fix it. Bought tires from them about 2 years ago with a $ 20 warranty that I had not put much thought into. Got an unrepairable flat last night. Called them up, they told me I was under warranty and to come in. I went in when they opened at 7am, and after trying to convince me to purchase 4 new tires (somewhat deservedly since my tires have been well-used), they got me out of there in about 30 minutes with a new tire and labor for $40. They were friendly, informative and total pros throughout. Not sure how their tire prices compare, but in terms of service and professionalism, I definitely recommend. read more

I had an excellent experience at Big O Tires yesterday, thanks in large part to Abe and Ken who provided excellent customer service. Overall, I was impressed by their professionalism and it seemed like they really wanted to provide me (and others) with excellent, honest service. Here are the details: I called first thing Saturday morning, spoke with Ken, and told him my brakes gave out the night before. He said "wow, that must have been scary. Come in as soon as you can and we'll take care of you." Once I arrived, I parked me car and before I could get inside, Abe was already walking out with a clipboard and said "what can I do to help you?" I explained the issue with my brakes, he inspected the car, showed me a leak and he said it was likely a brake cylinder, which I knew was the most expensive repair possible. I've had a lot of extra expenses lately so I tried to fight back tears and Abe was compassionate and professional in response. He didn't make feel like an ridiculous emotional woman for feeling overwhelmed by the news, which was so helpful in that moment! I told him I'm also saving for other care related expenses, especially tires cause I was told by a Firestone that I need to get my tires changed within the next month or so. Abe said "honestly, you can make it to the summer, if you're not driving in heavy snow." It was a huge relief to have that 2nd opinion when it seems like my car and life expenses are piling up. Back inside, Abe had to take a call while he was getting my contact information. I heard Abe say "We'd be able to give you about $100, but honestly, you could probably get a better deal online. I'm in the middle of another invoice right now but can I take your name and number and call you back." I saw it again: honest and professional service. It was a busy Saturday morning, but I saw they got my car in the garage to be inspected within 10 minutes of me talking with Abe. Once they'd inspected it, Abe came back in and walked over to me with a big smile on his face. He said he had good news and it wasn't the cylinder but rather a hose. He seemed excited to save me money and when I asked any extra coupons, he said he there was a $10 off coupon online he could apply to the bill. Ken called me back when the repairs were done and displayed that same professionalism. Go Big O!!! read more

Went to get snow tires put on, they told me it'll be done in an hour. 3 hours later they're done. "Oh and we forgot to do the alignment." Drive the car home and it's shaking. I check and all lug nuts are on(this will be important later in this bitchy review). I bring it back in the first chance I get and they tell me the alignment will be done in 10 minutes. 45 minutes later, they haven't started on it. I go to ask for the keys because my wife is late for an appointment and notice a lug nut is missing. They don't keep lug nuts in stock, but he assures me it's fine to drive on 4 lug nuts. "But if the 1st one rattled off in the time since I was here, how do I know the others won't rattle off?" I ask. "Fine, we'll do whatever it takes to satisfy you," he says with a large amount of snark as he walks away from me. They tighten the remaining lug nuts, and then "lose my keys." So I'm sitting there another half hour while they alternately look for my keys and help other customers. Then they find them, I drive home and it's a smooth ride. Which means, if I'm not mistaken, that the shaking was caused by a loose wheel and not necessarily poor alignment. read more

I got a flat tire and brought it to Big O. Even though my tow truck driver was an hour late, they were still able to fix it the same night. Everyone I spoke to was polite and had good humor. Don't even think of patronizing this store. The worst customer service ever. We took 2 cars in last week for tires. I was told that my tires were not in stock and they would have to go to the warehouse to get them but that "the warehouse is only 15 minutes away" so it's not a problem. Both cars would be ready at 11:00 a.m. So at 11:00 we went back and my car hadn't moved from where I parked it .Ken greeted us by saying that they had tried to call us. I told him I wasn't at home and he needed my cell # which Ken HIMSELF then wrote on my order. But now my car wouldn't be ready til around 1:30 because "it will take us an hour to get to our warehouse." HUH? The warehouse that was 15 minutes away is now an hour away?? Around 1:15 we called to see if my car was ready and Ken said, "Ya, we've tried to call you three times." (When I got home that night, there were 3 messages on my answering machine at home.) When I left Big O, all I wanted to do was get my keys and get out of there. The tires that were put on my car look like they were pulled from a dump. They are discolored and are covered in dirt. It looks like they had traveled down a very dusty and dirty road. It wasn't until the next day when I was reviewing my Big O tire receipt that I saw that I was charged 20.00 for nitrogen. I don't even know what that is. I certainly did not order it or approve it. AND I was charged 36.00 for tire protection plan which I did not order. My car is 31 years old and there is no way in hell that I would buy a tire protection plan. I was ripped off. I cannot believe this store is in business. read more

Rick (manager) is extra rude, curt, and has an attitude that says "I'm better than you an you are dumb" (even though he is employed at big o tires). The will be the last times go there with my cars. I have gone to this place for the past 5 years and have spent a ton of money for all kinds of services, mainly because they are in the neighborhood and open on weekends. One of my purchases there was for a set of tires that was one of their high end tires with a warranty of 65,000 miles. I just wanted to get my oil changed today, and he told me he cannot even rotate my tires anymore, because there is not enough tread left. I don't even have 40,000 miles on these tires. Then he tried to sell me the same pair of tires again at a discounted, pro-rated price of just $400. Why would I buy the same tires again if they don't even last 40K miles? He explained that it's not their fault, because they don't make the tires - but it was their own brand!!! In my opinion, this place tries to sell tires at any cost. The tires are super low quality, and they sell them at a high price to get you to come back for a free rotation. Then when you come in, they try to sell you other services you don't need. These tires were absolutely horrible and a complete waste of money. I do not recommend them and will not be back. read more

CAUTION This is the second time I have been to Big O on Colfax and Grape St. in Denver and have felt bullied both times. Today my husband took a tire to be repaired. It needed to be replaced (although I would have eanted to see proof-my husband did the transaction over the phone). He was told the cost would be $120. I go to pick up the car and was told my total was $170! when I asked for a cost list for the service I was being sold a 3 year warranty optional road hazard coverage without being asked! I was also being charged for a flat repair when we we were told it could not be repaired! The response to my disappointment was to bully me into believing I needed this extra protection oh and I will remove flat repair costs for you. When I asked if the tire was covered in any way he said it was covered for a year. He was condesending and relentless with his push for me to buy extra protection. My first visit also included trying to talk me into added costs. i will never return to this business again. BUYER BEWARE! TOTAL LACK OF ETHICS AND INTEGRITY HERE. I would not even give them a star. Terrible! I went in for a simple oil change around 12:30, and the manager told me it would take between 2-3 hours, which seemed a bit long but I needed to get one done. About 1/2 hour later, I got a phone call saying that I needed new brake pads, which I was a little hesitate about but agreed to it, and it would take an additional hour. My friend dropped me off 1/2 before they closed, around 5:30 giving them plenty of time, but my car was still in the garage with no tires on it. I waited 15 minutes inside to ask how long it was going to take but no one helped me so I walked around the block and when I came back at 6pm, the manager asked what he could help me with, in which my reply was how come this is taking so long? he was rather rude and made a lot of excuses. I simply told him that if had called me I would have made an appt for another day. Finally, when they rang me up at the register the manager told me that since I had to wait so long that he wouldn't charge me for my oil change, too bad I bought a daily deal online, which means I already paid for it. A mixed bag. Brought my car to Big O Tires after noticing a nail in a tire. Worked with Spencer who was very helpful. He even encouraged me to go back to the original store I bought the tires from to see if they couldn't fix them under warranty. That didn't work out and Big O was only a few blocks away from me so I agreed to have them fix it. I was leaving town the next day and needed the car back in a hurry. They took a few more hours than expected but I can't complain too much since the job was done. However, whoever did the repair rifled through all my belongings in the back of the car. Nothing was taken but it's a little disconcerting they felt the need to go through boxes of CDs and misc car equipment to repair something on the outside of the car! Weirdly, the repairman left some of his tools in my backseat. So, I don't know, if you're in a hurry and they are in your neighborhood, I'd say go for it, but take anything of value out of your car first. read more

I bought a punch card to do oil changes, among other things. Regardless of the time I've gone to this place, I always received the same story - super busy, wait time 2.5-3 hours. I have an impression they don't like dealing with these punch cards due to non existent profit margin, and, in order to compensate for that, they always try to sell you something else whether you need it or not. Example, went for oil change, left the car overnight (didn't want to wait for 3 hours) and when the car was ready, I was told it was due for new brake pads/rotors, which were all still within manufacturer's limits. I declined. However, I asked whether there were any other issues with the drivetrain. The response was no and that's when I realized they were full of it because both rubber shaft boots were busted and spewed grease everywhere - impossible not to see if you checked the brakes as they claimed they had. Considering the time it takes for the shop to do oil changes and its managers questionable ethics, it is noth worth buying the punch cards for this location. Avoid this shady place by all means. read more

A completely unprofessional shop run by idiots. I purchased snow tires for my Subaru last winter and was told when I needed them swapped over it would only cost $50 since I purchased my tires with them. Come to find out it cost over $80 because they had to rebuild my tire sensors. $8 per tire? I guess the $1100 I spent on tires was not good enough.... The store manager Ken told me it was a new law that was passed and that it is mandatory to do now. I decided to call Discount Tire and the Subaru dealer and guess what they both said...It is a recommended service not mandatory and there is no such law!!! What lying thieves. I was told that with having under nine thousand miles on the car there is no need to have this done. I will NEVER return to this store or any other big o. To top it all off he tried to sell me an alignment(that I didnt want or ask for) as well as a nitrogen fill! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! read more
