I dropped my truck off on a Wednesday evening. I had a Blow out on one of my tires. And John told me he would have me on the road, first thing in the morning. I told him I wanted the two back tires replaced. I called John, first thing in the morning. He told me that he did not have the tire in stock, but would get it in, as soon as he could. That ended up being after 3 PM. John called me and told me my truck was ready. I went down, picked up my truck, and paid $275.00, and drive home. When I got home, I looked, and they had only changed one tire, but, charged me for two tires. I called, and told him, and he did nothing to make the situation good. He blamed everyone around, but himself, and then hung up on me when I got a little frustrated at him for having my truck all day. Then, when I went into the shop, he hid in the back, till they absolutely needed him up front. He wouldn't even look at me. When I told him I thought he sucked, he tried to kick me out, and threatened to call the police on me. I have spent close to $10,000.00 in that shop, over the lady dix months. I will never go back. Well. Sat in the waiting room for 1 hour to have 1 tire replaced. Truck sat in the parking lot the entire time. 4 bays open. Completely Understaffed. I saw them turn away an oil change with 1.5 hours till close. After waiting I asked for the tire with no install. I grabbed the tire. Hurried over to discount tire and had them install it. read more

Lindsay and Warner location is terrible. I took my car in for a synthetic oil change and an alignment on my fx35. Prior to leaving my car I asked the front line man Matthew if the oil change includes topping off my power steering fluid because I could feel my wheel getting a bit stiff he said yes. Upon picking my car up Matthew explained that they couldn't rotate my tires because my 2 front tires were "bold" (although I asked them to rotate since it's included in the oil change). I pay anyway and hop into my car to drive away and notice my wheel is still stiff, I go get Matthew (who assured me they tipped off all fluids) and we open the hood up together and see there is barely any power steering fluid so he tops it off and the shell is smooth again.. but I now do not trust Big O Tires, I was charged for all fluids topped off- I did not get that. I was also charged for my tires to be rotated- I did not get that. Save your money and go to someone you trust, this place will NOT do everything you pay for and will only cause you more damage. -not to mention give you an attitude if you ask questions. read more

Colby, the gentleman that helped me, told that the tires I wanted were actually out of stock, but he price matched for an even more expensive set. Service was all done within 3 hours. Disgusting! My kids went here with a puncture and driving on the emergency spare wheel as they had to drive 90 miles back up to Payson, they arrived 20 minutes before they closed and explained the situation but Big O would not help them because they said they where too busy 20 minutes before closing, I'm not a tire expert but I know it doesn't take them 2 minutes to fix a puncture or throw them a new tire on. I have 8 vehicles and have always used Big O in Payson but after this I'm going to go elsewhere! read more

We came here to get a flat tire checked to see if it could be patched. They were busy, but still provided friendly and helpful service! They took the wheel and fixed it for free quoting a couple of hours to get it done - but had it finished in less than an hour! Avoid at all costs! 1 hour 54 minutes for an oil change. I had an 8AM appointment for an oil change. I arrived, expecting to be done in 30 minutes. Oil changes don't take that long and I had scheduled an appointment to get it done so I wouldn't have to wait. I talked to the manager and was given an excuse that my car, a Sequoia, had to use the large lift, they only had 2 of the large lifts, they had 3 appointments scheduled at 7, etc etc. Enough of the excuses, how about some customer service. Finally, they had me pay and said they were finishing up, I still waited 25 more minutes. Unacceptable, I'll never return to a Big O. read more

Our first time here, and wished that we have reviewed what fellow Yelpers had to say. First of, we called for the Monsoon Service two weeks ago. They said it will be completed within 45mins. We got there within 20mins of our phone call. Upon check in, we were given an hour to complete the Monsoon Service. Ok we thought, still not bad. We dropped it off, and went about our day. We returned an hour and thirty minutes. Still not completed. The bloke on the front desk said that they are finishing up. Another hour thirteen minutes later ... Bloody finally! It's completed. Needless to say, we were not pleased (at all) for being misquoted time of completion -- from 45 mins to 2 hours and 43 mins! We were quite patient and understanding. We want Big O Tires complete a great job on our car. -- Oil change ... completed. BUT that sticker reminder they usually place on your windshield is missing -- Wiper blades were changed. BUT wrong size on passenger side -- 30 points inspection ... INCOMPLETE We were quite disappointed. Nearly 3 hours of wait time and incomplete service. This August our brakes on our Ford Explorer were grinding metal on metal. This was only 13 months after we had paid $435.19 for new brakes and pads at this Big O Tires location on Lindsay in Gilbert. So when I came in I was told that even tho it was past a year they would honor the one year guarantee. So they took a look at the brakes and told me that I needed new calipers, new rotors and new pads. The estimate was $707.00 with the credit from the last brake job. Took it to another shop and found out that we did not need new calipers at all but that the rotors and pads were shot because of such lousy workmanship that Big O Tires did prior. I was so disappointed that a professional chain like Big O Tires actually tried to deceive us into work that was not even needed and should have covered most of it for the poor job that had been done a year earlier. I will never go back and will not recommend this business to anyone. read more

Took my car to Big O for an AC recharge and a chirping belt. Was told my harmonic balancer was wobbling and I should not be driving my car because it could damage my engine. This part was very pricey to replace ($436 plus labor). Do not let them talk you into stuff you may not need. Get a second opinion folks!!!! Same part for my car at the dealership would have been $125 plus tax and labor. Worse part about it is, replacing the harmonic balancer did not fix the problem. Went back to have car looked at again and was told the chirp was coming from a pulley. Replaced the pulley ($200). Problem still not fixed. Went back a 3rd time and was told the only noise they heard was coming from a different pulley ($500+). Did not have that one replaced. Took my car to my regular mechanic. Chirp was coming from the serpentine belt ($140 total). This was the 3rd time the serpentine belt was replaced (twice at Big O with aftermarket belts). End result was my car needed an OEM serpentine belt. All along the chirp was the serpentine belt, not the harmonic balancer, not any of the pulleys. My honest opinion is that the mechanics at Big O had no clue where the chirp was coming from. After several conversations, the manager refunded me for the 1 pulley and the serpentine belt (parts only), but not the big ticket item (harmonic balancer). I'm not convinced the harmonic balancer even needed to be replaced. I still can't wrap my head around how this part is $436 at Big O and only $125 at the dealership? That's a $300 mark up!! I honestly feel scammed and feel I should get another $300 refund for the extreme mark up. My mechanic and the dealership said this is not a common part that gets replaced. On the positive, the guys there are nice and friendly. Unfortunately I will not ever go to Big O again or recommend Big O. Very disappointed! read more

Service is extremely slow; they tested the fluids over 30 minutes ago and tried to sell me something more than my oil change,, so I would think they would already have my car ready to service. I will not be coming back here again. Other than very slow service considering I had an appointment, this is another place that wants to sell you stuff you may not need. If I could give zero stars I would. The 750 S Lindsay location doesn't have the proper equipment to replace low profile tires although they did not comment as such until after they damaged a very expensive 12x20 wheel off of a new Corvette. Prior to starting the work I stated to them that I would purchase and take the tire I bought (and my wheel) to a different company if they did not have the proper equipment to which they replied they do these all the time and there would be no problem doing the work. After "trying" to do the work they came to me and said they damaged the wheel and couldn't mount the tire with the equipment they have. At this point they have my wheel and have not offered a replacement. They are claiming surface damage and maybe repair, however, the impact has potential wheel damage which could lead to breakage or failure of the wheel which could lead to injury or death. The right resolution is to purchase a wheel from GM to replace your Customer's damaged property due to your company's poor workmanship. I have been a Customer of Big O since 1994. It is mind boggling that they are not resolving this. To clarify, they have my wheel, have not offered an acceptable and ultimately safe resolution. Manager John R. Indicated on a call on 9/10 that he would look at the wheel, go to purchase from GM, and call me on 9/11 none of which occurred. This is very poor treatment of a longtime Customer (or any Customer for that matter) for the mistakes of your company. Unfortunately, a 24 year Customer is going away. It must be nice to be able to have enough customers to not have concern. read more

I went here in a pinch on a Sunday afternoon because my rear tire had a nail in it. They patched it which was great, but the alignment they said I needed didn't fix it pulling to the right AT ALL. On top of that, when I called the day before to ask if I needed an appointment for the alignment, they said no because they normally don't have many people in line for them anyway. Oh and the tech made it seem like I should have known better than to have 2 new tires on the front passenger and rear passenger side and I asked him to put them where they belong and they are where they were when I took it in. 3 hours later I was on my way back home with my car pulling to the right and a popping sound when I turn my wheel tightly when pulling out of a parking spot. I will not give them an opportunity to fix this and will be taking it to the dealership. I have a 2016 VW Jetta, should not be that difficult to figure out. read more

NOT HAPPY!! I jut left the gilbert store I called the store around 12noon to inquire about an oil change and prices. I spoke with Shane - he was very helpful explaining the different prices. I asked if they had availability for this afternoon and he said yes. I said I would be in around 4:15 - he said that was fine. When I got there I asked how long and he said an hour. I asked if I could get a ride. Someone else said yes - but I would not be able to get a ride back when it is ready. I said that was fine - I will walk as I do not live to far away. Shane dropped me off. I said that I will be back in an hour and he said ok. I walked to the store at 5:30pm. The car was inside the shop. I asked if it was ready and he said no - they didn't start on it yet. I was so upset. Really? I asked why he couldn't call me - common courtesy when he knew that I was coming back in an hour to pick it up. AND - if I was waiting then - would it be a rushed job as the shop closes at 6pm? My time is valuable and I did not want to sit and wait for 30 minutes. All he had to do was call and say that they are running late and I would have understood. I bought 4 new tires from them a few months ago and I WILL NOT BE BACK. there is too much competition out there and it is very unfortunate as I live in walking distance to this store. Stay clear from this place! I'd rather go to pepboys and that's saying a lot! I purchased brand new tires less then a year ago. I had a blow out yesterday, and figured it was the old tire. I originally had bought three new tires. One was in fair condition. Upon inspecting the tire, I noticed it was one of the brand new tires that I had purchased from them a couple months back. The whole tread separated from the tire. There were a bunch of metal prongs sticking out.where.the tread used to be. At the time of purchase I had bought.the extended warranty on all three tires. The guy at big.o said they.would not honor the warranty since it is my fault. He said I should have gotten the 79 dollar alignment. I was shocked. The guy took a 10 second look and treated me like garbage. I will never ever bring my business back.to.this dump again. Tldr; horrible service, liars, thieves. Stay away! Their advertised prices are just a starting point, which they don't tell you. Make sure you go over your invoice as well. We were charged for a service that was advertised on site for free. Found small leak in tire (nail) and wanted to get fixed on wife's car. Pull in at 10:20 and am told it will be 40-45 minutes. After an hour car has not moved and no update from horrible front staff. Went to counter and they said it was next to be in.after another hour it was done. I'm guessing they forgot about it till I started asking what's going on. Horrible service for what could have been a 10-20 min job. Will NEVER go back here. Waste of a day because of a nail in tire. UPDATE! Day after the above review was done took car out on freeway to find the tire they fixed was out of balance now. They did not put the tire back on the rim at the same location or balance the tire. Had to stop at another place and get tire balanced. Wow, total failure on the most basic stuff. read more

I keep coming back to this shop.   Brought in my Honda CR-V for an oil change.  I was advised for new tires due to wear.  This was good because it came with roadside warranty and 1 year of free alignment. The staff are courteous and I feel they are good sales people but that's about it. About 3 hrs later, I noticed that my car is  leaking oil (this is on their lot), they tried to convince me it was the AC condensation, but I stucked a white paper underneath for them to observe.    They apologized and said they will fix it. However, when I got home, I noticed a puddle of oil on my driveway.  Not only I had to go back for 3rd time, I had to clean up an oil mess.  After trying to to convince me that this is normal after an oil change, due to oil getting everywhere, they reseated the oil filter and cleaned it.  Hint 1: they should a have a process to clean it up and make sure everything is secured. Two months or so later, during a trip  up north camping, I noticed a severe vibration at freeway speed!  So severe that the whole car is shaking around 75 to 80 mph. Not good!  The car is driven to and from work at 45 to 65  mph and not noticed it before. I suspect it was the new tires. So I finally I took it back to Big O to have them re-balance the tires.  Specifically, I explained the vibration issue and the manager agrees it is most likely a balance issue.  After about 2 hrs, my car is ready... so I thought.  Testing the car in the freeway,  this time the vibration is now occurring at 60 mph and is worst than before. The vibration is so bad  to the point the steering wheel seems to be jumping up and down.  This is not safe.   So of course,  I go back again with the vibration complaint.  I asked them if they rebalanced the tires and said they don't know. What!?   It is also obvious that the balancing weights were not changed. So after half an hour (of reaching  the person who performed the balancing), they indicated it needed balancing  and they are sorry for the balancing not being done.   Heck man, this is my main complaint! They found some mud stuck on the rim (probably from camping) but if they rebalanced it to begin with, they should have found this.   Anyway, I feel the mud stuck on the rim is an excuse since the vehicle was shaking before getting mud on the rim.   Hint 2: they should have a checklist to that the job was performed and and some training for their staff how to correctly balance a tire.  ie. clear any foreign object on the wheel before performing the balancing procedure. Anyway, like I said, you go back to shop again and again, not because of a professional service, but because of shoddy workmanship. read more

Update... Mike the new store manager has been helpful in trying to remedy some of the series of negative events that have taken place. Even though the vehicle is still not fixed they have made progress in locating the actual issue and seem to be legitimately working on getting this taken care of. The manager Steve no longer works there and the last time we took our car in the sales guy told me that the brakes needed to be replaced because they were too thin and that it would be $700 for all four wheels. I told them I would do it at home and bought the parts. When I got the wheels off, all the brakes are fine. Pads are like new and the rotors are still very thick and do not have wear channels that you would expect to see from brakes that are too thin. Probably won't go here again. They did a decent job of the oil and air filter change. So I guess there is that. read more

I was very impressed by the customer service performed by these guys today. Brought my daughters car in for brakes. Explained fronts are vibrating/shaking the wheel when baking at 60 or above. Probably worped rotors??They were Honest off the bat after checking the car over and not trying to rip us off , By charging for something not needed. We spoke on the phone, some how a miss communication happened and rears instead of fronts were replaced. They jumped right on it and Resolved it Immediately, NO Arguing, Nothing.. Perfect Customer Service and I have paid my dues to the Retail world, for 20yrs... I know all about the service Industry. Dealing with all kinds of unrealistic customers. Had appointment for oil change. No big deal. Apparently it was a big deal on a Tuesday at 9:00am. It took them 2 1/2 hours for an oil change. Really? I was there until 11:30am. Do not go to Big O. This place is a joke. What's the point of making an appointment? Value my time. We have families and work as well. If you don't have the staff to make it happen, then just tell me ahead of time. An oil change with an appointment should be no longer than 45 minutes, 1 hour max. Then, of course, they decide to tell me what else is wrong with my vehicle. Comes out to $1388 total. I take it to my other auto location and they charge me $768 out to the door for the same work, same parts, same labor, same everything. How is Big O worth $620 more and almost 100% more? Again, they are joking right? The manager, James, is cussing and dropping some cuss bombs to another person on the phone. Either an employee or something about scheduling. I have had multiple bad experiences with this location. 1. I got my tires rotated before I headed out of town. Got to Highway 87 and realized my front passenger tire wasn't balanced. My truck was shaking Like crazy and I had to stop in Payson to get it balanced. 2. I got an oil change on another occasion and they did not put my oil gasket on correct or at all I'm not sure. Oil spewed out everywhere as I drove off. 3. They told me I needed 2 new inner tire rods which would be $550. Got it checked out by another mechanic and they were perfect. read more

They sell you on the best "4 wheel" tires and a exspensie warranty then they won't replace a tire when u need to use your warranty. The Guy was rude from the get go. This morning we were told wer would get the tire then we went to get the tire they apparently changed their mind. I will never get tires from here, I suggest you don't either. I needed new tires and just happened to come in during the Buy 2 get 2 sale. I was greeted immediately after walking in the door and was helped by Joel, who helped me pick out the right tires for my budget. He even shared with me that they were tires that he had bought for himself! I scheduled an appointment for the following day as soon as they opened and was greeted by name by the same gentleman from the day before. I got a great deal on my new tires (and they have a warranty!) and Big O did a great job making me feel like family. I wasn't necessarily excited to spend around 500 dollars on new tires, but if I had to do it again Big O would be the answer. read more
