These guys are awesome. Don originally helped me out with the tire purchase early May. Really helpful and friendly. A few weeks after(today) I got a flat and had to get it replaced. I was THAT customer and brought my car in an hour and a half before closing time. I really needed my car for the next day and they said they would do their best to get it out tonight. I had an appointment for an oil change. I was greeted nicely. I wasn't paying attention when I signed the authorization but didnt notice that the oil being added would be synthetic, not regular, as the manufacturer suggests. I admit this was my fault, but Ive never had a shop give me the highest priced item without asking first. Oil change and rotation was $70 and that was with a $20 off coupon. This shop seems very overpriced. I was in and out in an hour. Ill go to Berkeley next time. read more

I don't know where to start with this shop... Brought my car here about 3 times to get something fixed and would always get my vehicle back with a new problem immediately. Ivan downplayed what was wrong with my car everytime as if he wanted me to keep on coming back until my vehicle was completely done by the poor work they were providing it with. The last time my car wouldn't even start and I was told that they don't do the engine work that it needed there and to get my vehicle towed somewhere else. got my tires replaced here because of the "fabulous" reviews i had heard about this place. the guy who attend me was named jose...his attitude right away seemed like he didn't even care about "customer service". my sister paid for my tires and she told me he was extremely rude to her. on top of that, my car smells like something is burning and my radio now switches on it's own. they told me that they checked my battery (which i did not request for them to do) so i am figuring some genius messed up my radio control. thanks a lot big o tires..you lost a customer for good! read more

Every single time I come here, I am blown away by the service. Everybody is so sweet, helpful and prompt, and whenever there is any kind of an issue instead of being negative, they help me figure out a solution right away. For example I bought a Groupon, had a problem with the transaction going through, and instead of having me wait around forever, they let me go ahead and check out and said that they'll take care of it for me. I know that means extra work for them, but its provided for with a smile & I truly appreciate it! Every time I'm in the area, when I need work that they're capable of doing, this particular Big O is my first choice. They're honest, hard-working and fair. I brought my car a few weeks ago to mount new tires bought from tire rack. I didn't have any prior problems with my tpms. After they mounted the tires and installed tpms kit on every tire, my tpms went off almost immediately. I brought it back a week after (I couldn't bring it in right away because of work) and they couldn't find out what's wrong and one rude employee said to take it to a bmw dealer because it's a "european car." No shit einstein that it's a european car! Hmmm...so I take it in without any problems with the tpms and now it does after they worked on it. Shady! Yup, they just lost a customer. read more

The owners son is rude as hell. I was assisted at the Richmond BIG O and contacted the Pinole to see if I was able to transfer my order due to it was closer. He was very rude and snobby and when the Richmond site abut my experience they explained that its normal the owners son gets complaints all the time and disregard. My wife brought her vehicle in after she had a nail go into one of her tires. The service writer told her the tire was unrepairable and she would need to replace all 4 tires on the vehicle since it was 4WD. Was it true that the tire was unrepairable, I don't know. She told them to go ahead and replace all 4 and was told the car would be ready around closing time that night. We returned that evening to pick up the vehicle. Nobody had called to let us know it was ready. When we arrived it was pitch dark outside and they were getting ready to close shop. My wife went in, was told the vehicle was ready and they gave her the bill for all 4 tire replacement. She went out to inspect the tires and discovered that they only replaced the damaged tire. Honest mistake? Maybe? The service order clearly stated that all 4 tires were being replaced. They sure were ready to charge her for all 4 tires. The service writer didn't bat an eye when she told him that only one tire was changed out. He tried to blame it on the mechanics and had the lone mechanic that was left on site change out the remaining three tires which we sat and watched him do. The whole situation just seemed real shady. We have been purchasing our tires from this location for the past 16 years, 5 different vehicles. This past trip will be our last. read more

I was very unhappy because the person who waited on me said my tires were un-rotatable ( really?) and that I needed two new tires and new spark plugs. No thank you. I am done with Big O tires. I've always been a Big O customer as the service is usually good and the prices are competitive. However, this store is an exception. I was in a bit of a rush so I asked when I pulled in "how long?" I was told I'm up next so it should be about 1 to 1.5 hrs, seemed like a long time for tires and an alignment but I agreed. Well, that 1.5 hrs turned out to be 3, can't imagine why because they were not busy. What's worse is that as I started driving I noticed the wheel pulled to the right and the steering wheel shook at freeway speeds. Obviously the alignment was not done well, or at all. So, I had to go back a week later and wait another 1.5 hrs for the alignment to be redone and to get an oil change. Made no sense as the place was empty! I've had great experiences at the Lafayette and Dublin stores. I'll go there next time. NEVER here again. read more

Never ever again...... This location does not have enough manpower to do the job and they don't stand behind their work. I took my 2017 Mazda 6 in for an oil change and tire rotation. At the time I applied for service I told them the right front tire was losing pressure, they said it would be checked. Needless to say 5 days later after their service the right front tire went low again. I went back to them, and said that they didn't do the tire rotation otherwise that tire would have been in a different location and that they did not check it as asked. They told me when I brought it to their attention that I should check the tire for nail or screw???? what they hell type of answer is that? that is what I had asked them to do plus he insisted the rotation got done. If there is minus stars I would have given them as much minus value as I could. They are just crooks. I took my vehicle to fix low pressure tire sign, told me I need to replace a sensor, then got a call I need to replace all sensors, tires, brake pads, something leaking and so on with thousands of dollars tab long story short replaced four sensors, $ 540.00 sign was still there went there again and again could not fix told me they don't have tools, Went to Hilltop Toyota, it took them 10 minutes to reprogram the system, paid $ 180. They told me sensors are not known to malfunction especially all fours sensors at same time. I asked those crooks to reimburse me what I paid to fix it, The owner said I will call you, never got call back, taking this case to court not I am worried about money, I want to expose them as much as I can. I wish I have looked at their 2.0 rating on web site before going there. Out of 174 reviews as of June 06-19, 118 have one star rating because there is no lower value than one star, any rating above 3 is their own doctored rating, who the hell will give them 5 *. Avoid Big O Tires Pinole at all costs!! Service is shotty, customer service is horrible, and the advisers attempted to charge me for things I did not need (not even needed for my vehicle). I had to bring my vehicle back the next day because the 4 wheel alignment was not done properly and needed to be re-done... As I stood by the service bay watching my car being worked on, the service adviser proceed to tell the mechanic "we ain't balancing all four of these mother f@#$%rs! We only balancing the fronts." After overhearing this I asked to speak to the manager and informed him of the situation and that not only was this completely inappropriate but offensive as all the customers who were waiting for their vehicles to be repaired heard this. The manager apologized for his employees behavior and tried to give me a voucher for a free oil change... Unfortunately I will not be returning here and wouldn't even if they paid me to change my oil. Additionally, I'd advise everyone to avoid this Big O facility and more importantly these unprofessional, inappropriate, and sketchy "mechanics"... read more

I'm on the fence with this place! I could have given this place an easy 5 stars, but the staff was extremely slow up front customer service area. If staff was trained and more efficient I would have given them 5 stars. Here is the real reason why I saved them with 3 stars and not 1 star. After they did a brake inspection they actually brought me out to shop to show me brakes and determined that I still had 60% life remaining on them on and not recommended to change yet. Firestone automatically told me I needed them and wanted to charge me $400 and just verbally said I needed them with not allowing me to inspect like Big O Tires. So yes I appreciate the honesty! This goes a long way! It might have been my perception but store manager was talking down to worker in front of me. Then as it neared 5pm workers were leaving and there was only 1 staff up front while the manager decided to go get his hands dirty in the shop and not help out front with a long line standing there. When the manager says he doesn't know how to do something and leaves it to a worker and then the worker doesn't really know how to do it either than there might be a training issue on many levels. read more

On 07/05/18, I went to your Pinole, Ca location for a oil change. I was advise it would be a hour wait. I waited for a hour and 15 mins and no one came out to get me from the lobby. I then went to the front desk and inquired about my vehicle. The gentleman at the desk went to check on my vehicle and came back and told me he couldn't find the work order along with my keys. He then searched for the work order and my keys for about 30 mins. I then ask to speak to a manager (T.TAYLOR). By now I have been waiting or 1:45 mins. The manager(T. TAYLOR) came and told me that one of the employees had the my keys who was on his lunch break and my car was done. Well he tried to reach the employee via telephone and he was not available. So more time passes by and my keys still have not been found. So the manager then proceeds to keep telling me that my car is done and it wont be long and we have to wait until he comes back from break. By this time i am furious, hungry, upset, annoyed, and every other emotion you can think of. I was so upset I started to cry and almost had a panic attack. I missed a very important appointment which could not be rescheduled. Time keeps passing by and the employee at the desk is still looking for my keys. So I ask him to please check all the paperwork for he could have overlooked it by mistake. So he proceed to look again and he found my keys attached to a whole different work order. My car had not been worked on and I was there for over 3 hours. So now I am livid, the manger(T.TAYLOR) comes back out and ask if he can please change my oil for it will only be 15 mins and did I have time to wait or would I like to come back. I just nodded my head. So the manger(T.TAYLOR) rushes and changes my oil and I walked out of there beyond frustrated. The customer service I received was horrible. The manger(T.TAYLOR) lied to me about my keys,my car being serviced without doing any research, didn't make any attempts to make the situation any better, was very inpatient and not pleasant to speak with at all. This was my first and worst experience with Big O Tires. Not only was the experience over 3 hours for a basic oil change but the customer service was atrocious. read more

Called before I came in for change oil, and asks how long they change oil for my car. Been told 30 minutes only. Check in my car for change oil told me it will take 45 to 1 hour. I've waited and walk around the store next to shop. Came back after 45 mins. and my car still park where I parked. THEY HAVE NOT STARTED WORKING ON MY CAR. Waited 20 mins more ..... and finally asked worker if they will start working on my car they said your car is next !!! I will not come here anymore ! I went to Pinole Big O on the recommendation of a neighbor on Nextdoor. I urgently needed to have my brakes done and could not wait until the appointment I had scheduled with my regular brake shop. The folks at Big O were great all the way through, from phone to picking up my car. They were courteous, kind, and took the time to answer my questions and show and explain the extra work that needed to be done (calipers needed to be replaced). They encountered an unexpected issue that they had trouble resolving--which they did at their own expense and via collaboration with another shop. Customer service was top notch and I will recommend them to others and return there myself. read more

It took 3 hours for an alignment and tire rotation on a slow Friday afternoon. Only reason I keep going back is because of my prepaid multi-year alignment package but after this I think I will just call it even and go back to a local mechanics shop for such services. I then spoke to a gentleman named Gerald, who confirmed that Camron did not set up the appointment! Gerald, then refused to set up my appointment. He claims that appointments are only for the "bigger" jobs, and an appointment would not be necessary for the "smaller" jobs. They're not getting my money again! Sir, Having been in business myself for twenty years, I know how much trust is a factor in customer loyalty. Your records will reveal that I have been your customer for over 15 years, and I have four cars on my account. I have witnessed a steady decline in service and professionalism at your store for the last couple of years. Specifically, I have been made promises about service time turn-around and availability of tires, only to have those promises consistently broken. This happened a week ago with a salesman who said he had the tires in stock, made me wait 60 minutes, only to inform me, after I asked, that the "tires were on the way". I left your store in exasperation and did not purchase $350.00 worth of tires. At one point, I saw one of your employees leave the parking lot with my car, with no indication where he was going. He was gone for 20-30 minutes. Again, no communication. The final straw occurred this week when, after receiving an alignment at your store last week, I drove my car to Los Angeles and the car was wandering all over the road. It was not tracking properly, and could have caused an accident. So, today, I took the car to Big O on San Pablo Ave. to be told that the alignment at your store had never been done, or at least it was incomplete. Unlike your store, after correcting the alignment, this Big O gave me a written report, which included the alignment numbers. Yes, many of the numbers were in red ink. I was charged for a service by your store that I did not receive. Finally, when I was at your store, and waiting for my car to be finished, the mechanics under your management were engaged in horse play, hide and seek, physically wrestling, martial arts sparring, and, on one occasion, a salesman threw something at one of the mechanics and it sailed over my car. You realize that this could have caused my car damage. This business climate is not professional, nor does it build customer trust. Had this been the experience of one of my customers, I would have wanted to know. So, I pass it on to you. read more

I was charged $30 for a nail removal and patching of my car tire. It didn't remedy the problem- the tire was still letting air out. I took the car back and this time the mechanic claimed that the tires were too worn down on the edges to take a patch and that the car needed new tires. I am not as much appalled by the fact of the store trying to up-sell their tires (although my car has only 16K mileage) as by the fact of the mechanic charging for the services that were not even provided. It is one thing when a service or a repair that was not necessarily needed is provided and billed but it is another thing entirely when the bill is for a service that was not even rendered. Showed him my low on air tire he noticed a screw in it and brought me back in to a cashier service writer. When I returned to pick up my car the first thing out of the techs mouth is that I have a damaged pan and a bad oil leak that's been going on for quite some time. TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) light turned on in my 2011 VW Golf. Checked all my tires and found that my front driver's side tire had a leak but I couldn't see what punctured my tire. My father recommended Big O to see if they could patch/plug the tire. I was informed that a nail caused the damage to my tire. I was charged $20 total for this job. Goodyear of Pinole on Fitzgerald quoted me $32 over the phone. No thank you! All my tires were filled to the correct pressure of 38 psi. I would recommend them for tire leaks. Came in on a Wednesday @ 8:08am and was out @ 9:15am. I believe I was the 4th customer of the morning. Cortez has great customer service. read more

I was worried going to this Big-O given some of the frenetic negative reviews on yelp. The tire place recommended to me wanted $185 more for a set of tires than Big-O. I figured I could not really justify that. So, in trepidation, I went. I had a correspondence with Jamie Torres, who was very to the point, friendly, accessible and gave all the information needed. I went for the appointment, they said 1- 1.5 hrs, ok, it took 1 hr and 40min, I watched the crew, they seemed pretty on top of it. It was very busy that Saturday. Charged to the penny what was in the proposal and gave me helpful hints how to get tires rotated and fixed for free at Big-O centers closer to where I live. (East Bay). I can really recommend this experience- and I really saved a ton of money. Have been driving for a week now- everything seems perfect. read more

I have been going to this Big O for 17 years, but now never again. The technician Gerald told me I needed 2 new struts and something with the power steering. I didn't have the 2 thousand they said it would cost, they tried to get me to finance the charges through them at a pretty high interest rate. I then got a male friend to go in with me and they then said "oh, it can wait a few months, no rush"! I just took it to the dealership and they found nothing wrong with struts or power steering, just oiled the undercarriage! I have been taking my truck here ever since I inherited it from my grandpa in 2009, who also took it to this location.... took it there a few months ago (been too busy til now to complain) and waited two hours for a tire rotation. I'm a local so I wandered around in the mean time, and I guess that was my mistake. They didn't touch my truck. They claimed they rotated the tires and everything looked good. They may have looked at it, but they didn't do the rotation. Guess next time I buy tires I'll go somewhere else even though I have had big on tires since the 90's. read more

Our experience had been great until Monday They sold me warranty for my tires and when one of the tires exploded while driving on the freeway they refused to honor the warranty they sold me and refused to repair the tire. I came here because I needed to get new tires/new brake pads which have been worn out. They gave me an certain amount of time where they said how long it'll take for the car to be done; and what do you know, they still haven't started working on my car when I came back at a time they told me to! It might have taken an extra hour or two to finish on my car, but it made up for the work they've put into it. My car runs smoothly, and brake works amazingly great! TOTAL RIP-OFF. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE! Used to go here for all our oil changes. Last visit, they tried to tell my husband that the battery needed to be replaced (battery was only a little over a year old), his left and right blinkers didn't work and he needed an alignment. We had everything tested from my son and the battery and blinkers were fine. And my husband didn't need an alignment. What a rip off! Trying to get us to buy more services. Had a slow leak in my tire and went here to get it fixed ... since I was there, had them rotate them, too. What I liked was I told them what I wanted and they did it ... end of story ... they didn't spend 20 minutes trying to upsell me on things I didn't want nor need. The repairs and rotation took 30 to 40 minutes ... not bad being I showed up in the middle of the day. Big O also has a good repair/replacement policy on their tires. This is my tire store! read more
