After searching all over for tires - price, quality & service - I returned to Big O. Yeah, most times it pays to get tires at Costco, but after the initial purchase, Costco sucks. Too long a wait to get your tires rotated, flats repaired, etc - I'd rather go to a small shop that has the staff to take care of post-purchase issues. After researching the brand/style of tires I wanted, called Big O and they had them in stock. I dropped in after work - 4:00 - walked across the street to Embers for dinner, came back and my car was ready. Back on the road by 5:15. Great service! read more

Their prices are more expensive than other places ( like FIRESTONE AT HILLTOP MALL) . I drive a lot, so I thought it's not a good idea to drive a car when one of the tires were bald. I stopped by . The gentleman asked if I need the least expensive tire for my Honda Civic. I said yes. I couldn't figure out how a $70 per tire cost me nearly $120 after they installed. When it came to replace due to a nail I had to pay all these fees that when I got the warranty I wouldn't have to pay anything. Obviously these crooks see my young millenial nephew without any mechanical ability and immediately take advantage and railroad him into having them put full synthetic into a 20 y/o vehicle. Got in the car, and soon hear that thump...thump...thump that lets you know a flat tire is soon to be. Sure enough, screw head poking out of the right rear tire. Zip down San Pablo Ave to my go-to Big O. Late afternoon, Lila immediately fits me into the rotation despite a crowded lobby. To my incredible luck, after tire is thoroughly examined, turns out screw did NOT puncture the inner tube. No harm, no foul--they send me on my way with no charge for time and labor! I bought a new set of tires from them earlier this month plus an alignment and received excellent service. They price matched the tires I wanted and had found cheaper elsewhere. They were able to get them delivered from their warehouse and installed in less than 24 hours as promised. Staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful, especially Ivan! Won't be coming back here. I should have stayed clear of this place after seeing the 2.5 star rating. I guess I was being a little too optimistic. I had an appt at 130pm for 4 new tires and an alignment and I was given a grand total of around $805. When I came in the price somehow jumped to $843. They said the job would take 2-2.5 hours. And they didn't finish the car till closing which is 7pm! As I was sitting in the waiting room I was listening to the guy help a customer and was getting several calls back to back and putting everyone on hold. Meanwhile the guy working across from him was just sitting and playing on his phone doing nothing. The salesman also put on the alignment as $109 and I heard another lady complaining about how her vehicle has been there all day, and was being worked on when she came to get the vehicle close to closing! The other salesman said her alignment was $80. I was intentionally given an upsale on my alignment without being told of the their options. Kinda shady if you ask me... wouldn't really trust these people or waste your time with them. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere. Only positive in this is I got new tires and they look great. read more

Whenever I get a flat, I always take it to this Big O Tires because they are fair. I get prices comparable to Costco. The shop is clean and the staff nice. They also are located across the street from Subway, Embers BBQ and Breakfast restaurant and 99 cent store, so you'll have somewhere to hang out, eat, and even shop. But my favorite thing about this place is Matt Holeman. He is professional, nice and he really went out of his way to help me. I get a bit intimidated when it comes to car things, but he explained things clearly and never made me feel like he was upselling. I was fixing a flat on a rental car and to help me to get a refund for it by pulling the tire out into the sun, pointing at the puncture wound for the photo, and adding a note on the receipt. What a great guy! Service like that deserves loyalty and I'll always be going back if they keep guys like Matt working there. read more

Customer service at its worst! Bought two tires set up a appointment for the next day, told them I needed it done early because I was on my way to work they told me it would be no issue. I get there in the morning and there telling me they have to many cars in front of me and it's going to take longer ( mind you I made a appointment ). I told them I had to be at work. I came to this shop for years simply because I didn't know of any other place that I could go to. Comfort zone type of thing. In terms of service, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, 2 being the DMV, this place is about a 1.5. I'm not kidding. Every time I went in there, I felt like I was being taken advantage of. If you buy tires, you would get a different price depending on who you were talking to. You need this, this and this. I felt better going to the dentist. Oh, you purchased a groupon of yelp gift card? They won't honor it. I purchased a groupon that was $50 for $100 worth of service. One of the guys behind the desk told me that I should have told him at the start, because the codes and yada yada are different. They only honored what I paid for the card. I was the first to be there on a Saturday. Person helping me out says that it will be several hours till they get to my car. Why? Because they had cars from the previous day. Just a badly run operation they have going. Last straw was when I went in and Gerald asked me what I needed help with, as I start to talk, he takes a phone call and just goes on and on and on and on. No apology, no "I'll be with you in a min". Just a complete disregard for people, their time, and money. read more

I made the mistake of coming back to this place thinking that things had changed. Unfortunately they hadn't. I brought my car in for a possible nail in the tire. A guy in the front told me it would be 2 hours to do a job that probably takes 15 minutes to do. Having experienced a similar situation in the past I left the car and went to do errands. I came back 2 hours later and the car had not even been moved from the spot I left it at. I asked the guy why it was not done and he said that appointments take precedent. I guess that was supposed to make me feel better. I left again and came back 2 hours later and the car was still not done. I don't understand people that tell you a time just to get your business but the actual time is twice as long. I will be looking for a shop that is honest about the time a job will take and take my business there. read more

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST!! I have had the displeasure of dealing with these guys two times in two visits. I swore after the first time, I wouldnt come back after they made me wait when car had been done for 2hrs. The waiting is insane. so I had gotten a flat coming home from L.A. I had to drive in donut spare all the way from Merced. Knowing how long the wait is with these guys I just dropped off the rim to have tire put on. I figured that isn't too hard for a tire shop to put one tire on a rim. And didn't want to drive to concord on donut spare. I grossly overestimated these guys. I dropped rim off at 12:30,on my lunch. They said it should be done by 6pm. So I show up at 530pm.they say it's not done yet. Then I hear the guy who took my information ask if anyone seen my paperwork. Oh Crap! Here we go again. Then at 650pm the guy tells me "I don't know how they did it but they didn't deliver your tire" I said to myself "I do" all he did was say he was sorry and they will probably put it to first of list, but tire won't be the till 10am. Now do you guys think he knew the tire wasn't the at 530pm when i first walked in!?!... Yea me too! I am so pissed at their lack of concern for customer service. They do not care how long people have to wait or how much work you will miss... And believe me it'll be hours. So now I had to drive home on the donut spare,have to drive to work tomorrow on spare, take my lunch AGAIN and drive on that spare to go pick up tire. TWO DAYS TO PUT 1 TIRE ON A Rim THAT I DROPPED OFF TO THEM!! . Terrible customer service! Ive been to this particlar location more than once over the past few years simply for convinience and no matter who is working the front desk, their disposition is always the same. Not sure if Ivan still runs this location but to whomever it may concern. The rudeness of your employees is the reason that I will never spend another dime at this establishment. Dont let a-holes run the front desk, its obviously bad for business. I will save my friends and family the headache and encourage them to avoid this place as well. Customer service is the key to getting repeat business. In the future, the convenience of this location will be negated. I should have known to trust my instincts and stayed away from this place. If your employee wouldnt have been so rude I would have gladly paid to have my tires replaced here instead of going directly across the street to a much more professional and customer friendly enviornment. Bad service work and unfaithful business ethics. I will never go back there again. The wheel alignment took well over 4 hrs. When they were done, the service manager told me that the wheels were all in spec, but after checking the paperwork at home, I found out they weren't. I also had my oil changed during that time, but they used wrong oil for my car so my engine was acting up until I changed it myself. read more

I only came here out of convenience since it's close to home. I came in today around 1000am their where already quite a few cars so they went ahead and made an appointment for me at 4pm which was nice considering they said they don't make same day appointments hence the two stars for that. So I come in at 4pm and they don't take my car back until 450? Why then make an appointment. What was the point if I still have to wait 1 hour for them to take my car back? I understand it's gets busy but it's very annoying when you can hear the workers in the garage having conversations and laughing and walking around when your waiting to get your oil changed. Very poor customer service. This is not acceptable and unfair to the customer. read more

This place is a RIP OFF location..........makes Big O Tires look like crooks!! Had our tires changed there in Dec 2010 and now today 09/2011 one of our tire is complete bald and so we took it back and asked them to replace it because its still under warranty. First, the guy told us we had a NAIL in the tire and so that means the tire can't be warranty and that it cannot be repaired. The next day we took it to another tire place who told us there was no leak or nail!!!! So we went back to this same location and demanded that they do something about this because our car was making LOUD roaring noise because of the bald tire. The guy proceeded to tell us to come back on Monday since it was a Friday..and that he would contact the manufacturer and get us some kind of warranty repair. Monday comes around and they told us to come in and get the treads measured. It was measured and again, they told us nothing can be done that we have to get 2 new tires and then he proceeded to give us a quote and said they won't charge us for labor. After a few days and a chance to cool down, we decided ok we'll go with the offer of 2 new tires but no labor charge...we call them to schedule an appt to go in to get the tires and AGAIN they b/s their way out of it...they said the tires were discontinued and they only had 1 available!!! NEVER GO TO THIS BIG O TIRES if you are looking for a local Big O Tire location...go to Richmond or anywhere!! Losers and I hope they know KARMA equals lost business when you treat customers like that. Very knowledgeable and they really take the extra time to explain to customers what's going with their vehicles and why they make the recommended service or repairs. I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. I went in assuming I'd have to buy 2 new tires because the horrible service I'd received at the Chevy dealership left me with almost bald tires from not rotating them when they should have. Anyways, so I thought I'd need 2 new tires but the service advisor Gerald did a careful inspection of my car and tires and found I'd only need 1 new tire because I had one very high quality Michelin tire that wore down much less than the others. He carefully explained it all to me as well as looked up what services were due for my vehicle at my mileage. He noted that I may need a brake fluid flush if I hadn't had one recently. Again, I assumed the dealership would have done that for me during one of the last 9 oil change/inspections I've had in the last 3 years. But no, I called them and they said they did not. So not only did Gerald at Big-O save me money by recognizing I only needed one new tire but he also saved my brake rotors from warping by bringing the brake fluid to my attention. And he was very kind to explain it all for me since I know zilch about automotive repair. And this awesome Big-O experience occurred during the covid 19 pandemic conditions when their shop was understaffed and very busy. I am pretty disappointed in myself that I didn't check Yelp before I allowed them to work on my car I took my car there to purchase a new tire and change the oil I was told to drop off my key in the overnight box so I could be the first car serviced I did that at 8 am, I called at 10 am and was told it would be ready in 30 minutes After not getting a call, I went to get my car at 12, not ready yet They have to do a alignment check. It's going to take 10 minute I get a call about 30 minutes later and am told that they mistakenly aligned my car a 99 $ job and then I'm told I can give you a discount but the lowest I can go is 70$ Excuse me, I didn't ask for that service So no I will not be paying I arrive and the guy I'd been working with is now wayyy too busy to talk He makes me wait before letting one of the other workers help me I will not go back there I think the 70 dollars was going into his pocket he saw a woman and figured I'd go for his little scam Nope read more

I will never go back to this place if my life depends on it. I got into a car accident and needed a tire and wheel replaced on my car. I had my car towed to Big O and headed down to meet it there. I dealt with the "manager" Jeff, who I thought seemed nice at first. Big mistake, I've never met such an unprofessional person and cannot even begin to fathom how someone like that made it to a managerial position. After getting the quote, I was told they were too busy on Saturday to work on my car so I left. I did some research online and found out that they were trying to overcharge me at least $100 on the wheel quote alone! On Monday, Jeff called me to let me know that he had found the wheel for me and it was only $325....problem being that I found the same exact rim for $113! I told him to hold off on ordering it until I could come down there and talk to him. Figuring, it might not be worth the trouble to get the tire elsewhere, I had better give him a shot and see what type of a sales manager he really was. By the time I had gotten off work and gotten down there on Monday, Jeff rudely informed me that since I told him I was quoted a better price, he erased me from the system and refused to re-look up the quote. It guess it was too much work for him. He even zero-ed out all the prices on the release form I had to sign out of spite. I couldn't believe how unprofessional this so called manager was. I myself managed a car dealership for 4 years and any salesman worth his salt, would try to keep your business and discount his price, any salesman worth anything wouldn't act like a little girl when he's challenged. But I guess he's not much of a salesman. My father, who has been a mechanic himself, gave me an extra tire he had to put on temporarily until I could take my business to another establishment. My boyfriend began jacking up my car to put on the temporary tire, when Jeff came outside talking trash under his breath. My boyfriend followed him back into the shop and asked him what he said, but like a coward, he wouldn't repeat it. Mind you, THIS IS A MANAGER, TALKING TRASH IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. I was so disgusted beyond belief. Then to add insult to injury every single mechanic in the shop starting talking trash to my boyfriend and I in Spanish. Really ignorant thinking that neither of us could understand them. That was it. I literally had my car with a FLAT TIRE TOWED OUT OF A TIRE SHOP because I refuse to give them my business. I have bought tires from them for the last 20 yrs for 4 differant cars, went in for a flat repair and was told it couldn't be fixed. I looked at the tire and agreed to have it replaced. Then I'm told they need to replace both front tires because it's a 4 wheel drive suv and the new tire would be bigger and cause un due stress on the drive train. Sales person stated that I only had 5/32 tread left on the rest of the tires and anything less than 50% corprate policy was to stick you for another tire. Last week I spent nearly $700 getting new brakes, drums, parts, etc. Today I had to return with the same vehicle to get the spark plugs tested because they did not have enough time to do it last week. The associate last week told me they would do it for free and that he would notate the account record which he DID NOT do. However, once they realized this was due to a smog test they REFUSED point blank to answer any of my questions and WOULD NOT provide any service! The manager on duty named Jeff got up and WALKED AWAY from me leaving the junior associate and I perplexed by his attitude which was extremely rude and unprofessional! This Jeff person came back said the any business would have to be done at a smog testing center and I said that NOT all smog center offer mechanical service and I got NO reply. He also said if we returned the tire we bought yesterday he would refund that money.
