Our new Big O location! After some bad luck at other Big O locations I went with a friend's advice to try this place. He was right. From the second we stepped in the door the guys threw balloons secretly over the wall and into our kids laps. Very professional, called as soon as the car was ready and even mentioned if we'd like to come after closing just communicate with them so they could lock our keys in the car. After a simple rotation no other work was recommended :) This location may not be the closest one to us , but it is a winner in our book. read more

I went to Big O tires today to get a repair done on my Prius which had a totally flat tire when I set off for work. A mechanic at another garage told me he reckoned the tire needed replaced but suggested I come here to get it checked out. The guys here at Big O took a look and said they'd try to fix it first because there was still some life in the tire yet. So rather than making me lay out a wad of cash for a new tire, they only charged me $20 for a repair job. Other places might've been tempted to take advantage of my situation, but not Big O! read more

They didn't put oil in after a scheduled WHEELS fleet oil change causing the engine to need replaced. That is not nearly the worse part. They are now lying and saying first that I didn't come in, second that I had the car towed in, and third and finally that I came in saying the engine was bad and that I asked them to not let my manager know. All lies that are easily disproven. This is a company vehicle and my manager approves every oil change and repair. I have receipts and emails and witnesses who dropped me off and watched me pull up and leave. I HAVE NEVER MET WITH A MORE DISHONEST OR INCOMPETENT COMPANY IN MY LIFE! read more

These guys are amazing. I've had to come here a few times within the last couple of months because I have the worst luck with tires. I see a lot of people complaining about wait times, etc but they're clearly very busy and do what they can. I went in first thing this morning and dropped off my car because it had a slow leak due to a bolt being stuck in my tire. They were honest and told me it would take couple hours which was fine. My car was done by my lunch break and no charge. Perfect timing! And they gave me a flower... who does that??? No one. Never again just for convenience. Absolutely the worst service, treated me like I was an idiot just because I'm a woman. Directed me to the bay for what I needed which was just air in my tires. I wanted to let the guys know I needed nitrogen in my tires and be sure the pressure was right this time and not under or too far over and was not given the time of day. I originally purcahsed my tires from Big O in Pleasanton. I had a flat tire and took it to a different Big O. They told me that they couldn't repair the tire and wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to replace all four of my tires! I then came to Big O Tires in Pleasanton and they took care of the repair for free. This store treated me honestly and fairly. I took my car in before a road trip up to Portland to see family for the 4th of July to get new brakes. They did the full 20 point inspection and 2 new brake pads, almost 400 for 2 brakes. Let them know we were going on a long trip. We get up to Portland, with a car full of kids and a night time drive. The car is making weird noises the whole trip and soon started making clanking noises. Took it into a shop while on vacation to find out our back tires were not screwed on all the way and we could have been in a serious accident. The clanking noise was the metal hitting because the tires had enough room to move left and right. I'm not talking about centimeter but a few inches. We called big o when we first heard the unusual noise that happened before the clanking and they said it couldn't have been from something they had done. Once back from our trip my wife went to talk to the owner Josh and he took no accountability for the fact that one of his employee's did not do their kob correctly. We had a car full of kids and were driving through the night, talk about a huge safety risk they could have killed us because the lack of completing a standard job and did not take one once of responsibility. I will never return to this establishment and will be calling corporate. read more

Great service and care! Discovered my battery "died" and needed replacement. Called the GMC dealer and was told they couldn't help me until the next day. They also wanted to sell me a battery that had a shorter warranty at a higher cost (battery and labor). Called Big O Tire, who said to bring in the vehicle and they'd do a FREE system check, and if needed they could install a battery while I waited. Chad was great. He tested the system and determined that the battery was the problem and not the charging system. Jeff, "the Counter Person", is a great customer service rep. He recommended what battery was needed, explained the warranty and arranged for the installation. The price for the battery including labor was reasonable and considerable cheaper that the GMC dealer with a longer warranty. On top of this, there was a mail-in rebate! Once again, Big O, Pleasaenton was there when I needed them! read more

I've been a customer for many years for standard oil, tire and other maintenance services and items. Recently though, decided to go big and upgrade to new wheels, mufflers, tires, bumpers full suspension (Fox 2.0), grill and bumpers. Everything went smoothly until the front and rear bumpers which simply did not match the my F150. What impressed me was that Jeff at BigO went beyond all expectations and did multiple installs/removals until we both realized the bumpers were simply not going to work. He stepped up and negotiated with supplier to accept the bumpers as returns and only charged me original install even though they actually did it twice. It's rare to find a shop that will take care of you like this; even more rare to find someone like Jeff who came in on his day off to take care of a customer. I simply cannot recommend the this BigO shop enough to anyone. Thanks Jeff! read more

I have been a customer of this shop for many years. Its funny to me - I look at the negative reviews and I have the occasion of observing some pretty interesting expectations by people. I guess for some people - you probably will never make them happy (See Jill and Courtney). Its too bad. This is not an easy business to run and is very demanding work. I have had the best experiences with each and every one of the employees there. They are hardworking, consistent, friendly and try to do right with everyone. As noted in other posts - they often do NOT recommend something you don't need. This is core to their beliefs in that they want someone to be a customer for a long time. I have recommended many friends and family to their shop for this very reason. I've bought many services (tire rotations, oil changes, tune ups) ad we have spent some money on custom rims. There have been a few little glitches here and there over the years - but they always make it right. They are always happy to recommend others who can perform services they don't (air conditioning, interior work). If you are looking for a reliable, cost competitive, friendly local owned shop, this is your place. You will be happy! read more

Big O Tires most likely ruined my engine in my Acura TL. ??? The State Bureau of Automotive Repair had done an investigation regarding this claim, and due to the facts coming down to my word against Big O Tires, they recommended I take it to Small Claims Court. Since time has passed, this issue has become less of a financial issue, and more of a principle issue. So I have decided to take it to the court of public opinion. You be the judge. I took my vehicle in for a brake job. Since it was in the shop for that, I also decided to have them do an oil change, since I consistently have that done with all my vehicles every 3000 to 5000 miles. The day after the work was complete my "check engine" light came on and stayed on. I brought the car back to Big O, and they added more oil which didn't help. The next day I brought it back for a replacement oil change (which they did for free due to the issue). The 2nd oil change helped briefly (about 2 miles down the road) so I brought it back in with the "check engine" light glowing. At that point they sent me away and said there was nothing else they could do at that point (understood). I took it to a very reputable Honda/Acura specialist who inspected the issue. They ended up needing to pull the oil pan and found metal flakes throughout the entire oil system. Looking at it myself, it looked like glitter throughout the oil. The specialist advised me that this usually happens if a motor is run without any oil, and is not consistent with normal wear especially with an Acura or Honda. At that point there was no way to fix or resolve the issue with the engine, and another engine had to be purchased. I went back to Big O with this information, and they became very defensive, lacking every aspect of customer care and support that I felt they should have stood for. The "Oh Well" attitude, lack of support, and lack of researching any possibility they may have been responsible left me no other alternative. I filed a report with the Bureau of Automotive Repair. They came back and suggested that I take it to Small Claims Court because in a case like this, there is no tangible evidence that there was any wrong doing. So................. After over $5800 in repairs, I was left to ponder.......... My car was perfectly fine the day I brought my car in for Brakes and an Oil Change. After picking up my vehicle it had unrepairable problems consistent with running the vehicle without oil. But..... there is no way to prove anything happened or anyone did something wrong at Big O. For the sake of the expense, I truly hope that some highly unlikely thing went wrong with the engine itself, and if that is the case, I walk away from this as being wrong, and I wish Big O all the success they deserve. On the other hand, knowing my vehicle, knowing the history of it's care (I am the original owner), and getting a gut feeling of the defensive way Big O reacted, I truly believe that something happened with my vehicle in the shop that nobody will ever know. I have been going to Big O for tires ever since I moved to Livermore. They are a family owned business, and really look out for there customers. A couple months ago I was having battery issues. I would normally go to sears, but as i was getting my tires rotated I decided to have them check it out. The tech checks the battery and claims it checked out fine. The next morning it wouldn't start. Back to Big O, Josh (owner) pops the hood and looks at the 0 gauge wire , he asked if a had a capacitor for my stereo. He tells me this capacitor was giving the computer a false reading. He personally pull out the battery and replaces it with a new one right on the spot. read more

The employees do not wear masks. Only one was wearing one when working with us and it was not over his nose. We had to come back three times to get the job done right. They did not do an alignment check after replacing tires. This should be standard. The car drifted dramatically and when we brought it back, they discovered more issues. If the alignment check had been done, we wouldn't have had to make three trips. Very frustrating experience. read more

Josh @ Big O Tires came highly recommended to me and I recently took my wife's van there to have her brakes replaced. The front brakes were making a horrible screeching noise, but only intermittently. I fully expected that they needed to be replaced, but much to my surprise, Josh delivered the good news that the brakes didn't need to be replaced but that the previous mechanic had used the wrong parts that held the pads in. Josh replaced the parts, sanded the pads, and the problem was solved. I also knew that the rear pads were getting thin and probably needed to be replaced. However, instead of selling us something that we didn't need, Josh recommended that we hold off another 7,500-10,000 miles. It's refreshing to know that there are still good, honest people in this world and I'd highly recommend that you consider taking your car to Big O Tires, Pleasanton! read more

You're telling me that you don't have time to rotate my tires or change my oil. I even called before I drove all the way there and they told me that they would take me in. I live 15 min away. I have purchased my tires at this location for many years now. The prices of the tires are very reasonable, I have compared at many other shops. The customer service here is fantastic. I've purchased tires here ( twice now). They aren't pushy, and they've taken time to explain my options. I also use them for oil changes, and tire rotation/balance. Always extremely courteous, and it makes me dread car maintenance a little less. They have a TV and magazines in the waiting area, and they have a CLEAN restroom. If you have to wait long, there are places to eat or grab a coffee, just down the street. When I've come in with my kids, the staff always stop and say hi to them. Today they scored balloons. Showed up for my appointment as scheduled at 3 and as soon as i walk in, the associate says he can't accommodate any oil changes due to being so late in the day. I told him i had an appointment, he checks their schedule, and says he cant find me in the schedule- I made the appointment the day before with an associate i spoke to on the phone. He asked if i knew this associate's name, which i did not-- i didnt find it necessary to ask for the associate's name at the time. Just for making an appointment? C'mon. Finally, the associate helping me today starts to go on and on about how they can't accomodate me with no apologies- nevermind that i made arrangements with my parents to watch my daughter because her carseat doesnt fit well in my lowered truck that i use strictly for work. I told him all this knowing that it wouldn't make a difference in the packed schedule they had already, but businesses should know that there are schedules for a reason and everyone's time is important. Regardless of this knowledge of my arrangements, no apologies or responsibility taken on behalf of big o tires. I was disappointed to say the least. I have been a loyal customer for almost a decade but of late they seem to have become an unscrupulous business. I recently took one of my cars for oil change and they told me my tires needed to be replaced. I did not and yesterday (after almost six months) I took the same car to Walmart for an oil change and asked them to check the tires and they said my tires were just fine. Recently in one of my cars, the Check Engine light went on and Big O told me some air filter valve needed to be replaced. They charged close to $400. The Check Engine light turned on again within two days. I took the car to the Lexus dealer and they told me the exact same problem and charged the same to fix it. So what had Big O fixed? I paid $400 for nothing. They used to be a very honest business but no longer so. I will avoid going there from now on. read more
