I saw some bad reviews on here, but plenty of good ones on Google Maps, and I wanted to help give this business a more fair representation here on Yelp, because my experience with them was great ... I came in this morning with a tire that had a nail in it ... they took a look at it & said they'd be able to patch it (rather than trying to upsell me a whole new tire), and they refused to charge me for it. They not only patched the tire, but out it back on my car and refused to charge me for it. They did so quickly and with friendly service. BIG TIME RIPOFF. I went in the shop to buy 4 tires. I saw that they had a banner displayed that said "Buy 2 get 2 free". I opted to take that deal. I was told that to get it I would have to sig up for a 1 year protection plan. The plan was cheaper than 2 tires so I opted for it. I prepaid for the tires after some BS a bout the brand not being eligible. I prepaid for the tires to be delivered the next day. I thought the total was about $300 or so too high. I was i n some medical distress so I thought I'd pay for the badly needed tires and dispute the bill the next day. They said they'd give me the paperwork then. Next day I had to send my grandson. 3 days later I was well enough to study the bill. I did not get 2 tires free. I was charged for the so-called qualifying protection plan $171.92. Labor to put on the tires was $303.72. This is an astounding charge compared to what I've been used to. I have emailed them demanding a refund and haven't heard back yet. read more

This place is awful!!! I towed my vehicle in due to an overheating issue only to be treated as if I was inconveniencing them by bringing my vehicle in. We spoke to William, and he was the inital point of contact and continual contact during the duration of our car being there. He was rude from the start. He called and spoke to my husband after the car being there for over 2 hours to give an update. He said whoever change the thermostat that they spilled coolant where it shouldn't be. We obviously told him from the start it was changed by us and he proceeded to say whoever changed it, it wasn't cool that there was coolant everywhere. Again I reiterated that it was us and we knew. The coolant reservoir was full when we initially dropped it off we checked it and knew that it was! My husband expressed that he wasn't listening to him and that he was kind of rude on the phone yet again! So I called our normal Big O we go to (only came here for convenience of it being closer since we moved). Explained my situation to the gentleman, he called over here and then William called my husband and was rude again and I spoke to him regarding the issue. He stated I wasn't listening and I was the one being rude after he was being disrespectful and misogynistic toward me as I was asking questions. He proceeded to tell me the coolant was "empty" nothing in the tank. Please explain how it was empty when my husband, dad and myself saw it was full 2 hours ago with NO LEAKS and according to them doing a pressure test and they refilled it for the test "because it was empty" and had no leaks. I called BULL!! I then told William I was disappointed with the service and treatment we were receiving and he got aggressive and rude and was very disrespectful!! I said I'd speak to his manager tomorrow since he wasn't on and I was met with "Don't worry I'll be here when you come in to speak with him tomorrow"... That is a threat!!! I was never disrespectful until he decided to tell me I wasn't listening and speaking to me as if I was stupid. I called our original Big O we used prior, they called the location my vehicle is at for more information as well to help me and he was treated the same by William and he proceeded to say that we were disrespectful and we needed to come confront him and that he won't allow them to cover the diagnosis payment that it's OUR responsibility and hung up on him! Basically he's looking for confrontation at this point because he is mad I defended myself. Rude, VERY RUDE!!! I have never been treated this way by anyone at Big O. We then got a call back from the other Big O we are transferring our vehicle to and said Williams called and there is no charge for today as we were arriving to the location for my keys. I was fully prepared for a confrontation with this man as I brought my husband and dad with me in case he tried to be rude again. All I wanted was to have my vehicle fixed and be treated respectfully and not like I'm stupid or talked down to! I'm disappointed! I'll be reaching out to management, and corporate because if this is how you all allow your employees to treat people you need a serious wake up call! I had a bathroom emergency at the thrift shop next door where there was no bathroom, so I ran into this facility to use theirs. I was told on my way out that their washroom was only for customers, and that I was not to come back. My husband actually wrote this review and accidentally posted it under my name. I was chased by another employee into the thrift shop and chastised once more in front of other customers not to come back into Big-O tires to use their washroom. I walked in this morning at 9am, right when they opened. My tire ended up flat yesterday, and needed to be looked at. The guys at Big O were friendly, kind, personable, and knowledgeable. I wasn't up sold and didn't feel like I was being pressured into more than what was needed. All in all, I had two tires replaced and an oil change. I walked out of there spending just over $300 - pretty solid for the price. They checked my shocks, breaks, fluids - everything was fine. I brought my car to Big O Tires because it was pulling to the right and the steering wheel was shaking -- a pretty common issue I assumed was just an alignment problem. After dropping it off, they called me saying it needed a new rack and pinion and quoted me around $1,500. I approved the repair, trusting their diagnosis. When I picked the car up, it was actually worse than before -- pulling harder to the right and shaking even more. I took it back the next day, and after a second inspection they finally discovered the real problem was the right passenger tire, which was coming apart due to age (from 2019). I was furious. How could something that obvious be completely missed during the initial inspection? The tech admitted the issue was overlooked by his team. So now I had already paid for an unnecessary rack and pinion replacement, plus had to buy two new tires, bringing my total to around $2,000 -- when the real fix could have cost a fraction of that. They tried to make up for it by offering four free oil changes, but even that experience was disappointing. When I dropped my car off at 7:30 AM for one of those oil changes, the shop was practically empty except for two employees joking around on the phone. I never received a call that my car was ready, and by 5 PM I had to call them myself -- only to be told it had been done for hours. To top it off, each time I've picked up my car, it's come back with grease stains -- on the hood, the driver's door, and even on the interior columns. This shop clearly lacks professionalism, quality control, and communication. They misdiagnosed a simple issue, charged me thousands unnecessarily, and failed to provide basic customer service. Absolute robbery! Went in for a check engine light. Told by Evan that it was the spark plugs and O2 sensors that HAD to be replaced in order to get the check engine light right. $1k in parts. For one week we went back day after day because the light kept coming back on. Today they said the mechanic cannot determine the issue, they arent refunding the $1k in parts , and they will not put any further labor into correcting without further costs. $1k to be without a car for a week, an empty gas tank from the 30 minute test drives, and nothing was fixed. I wish I could give 0 stars because of the very poor customer service provided by Colby, the store manager. He was rude and disrespectful. I feel sorry for the Team Memebrs he is responsible for leading as he exhibited behavior I would NEVER want modeled by employees. I will NOT spend another penny at ANY Big O Tire location due to the extremely poor experience with Colby. Unfortunately, Colby's actions negated the service provided several days prior by a gentleman that was in his first day on the job and the very kind employee that was overseeing him. I purchased two tires, that were replaced with no issue but I was not advised nor was it recommended that I get a full alignment as well. I'm not an expert and made an assumption that it was included in the service - failure on my part, which I acknowledged with Colby. This place misdiagnosed my car and said I needed $2500 worth of services when I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. Took it somewhere else and they confirmed my suspicions that nothing was needed. The manager blamed it on an inexperienced technician. If he is that inexperienced, he should not be working without direct supervision but I suspect it is just their business practice to upsell unnecessary services especially to women and moms. read more

I just called (June 19) the store and spoke with Liam per the request of the owner via Yelp. Liam told me that he's the "new manager." He said that I AM in the system, but that whoever checked me in last time (which there IS record of) did not put what services I received into the system. I explained that I feel like I am being called a liar from the owner who said, "we've searched our records extensively and have no record of you being a customer...make sure you're reviewing the correct Big O." He said the employee probably put in a "quote" or "estimate" for me and that I need an "invoice" from them for it to be recorded in the system. So the fact that they didn't even record the services during my visit is another red flag! I explained to Liam that being called a liar on Yelp by the owner is no way to win back my business. It's the Big O at Gilbert and Germann that told me that this Big O (and yes, I have the correct Big O in this review, contrary to what the owner believes) dropped the ball on telling me my tire was ok and not performing this test where they blow up the tire and spray soapy water on it to see if it leaks. I appreciated Liam's help on the phone. He asked if I needed any services where they could make things up, which I do appreciate. However, I do not need any services now. I would have gladly given this Big O my business when I brought it in the first time but ended up giving a different location that 200 dollar business (of getting a new tire) because they took the time to find the problem. I think ALL the Big O's need a better system. The fact that I can come in and just get "checked in" in their system without the computer saying what tests they did and what services I received is not good. I came back thinking it was something they put back loose only to tell me it was a whole other issue even though the noise started while still in the parking lot. Went in for an oil change & was honest about just need that. Asked if they could check my fluids so I can have my mechanic take care of it. Employees at the store proceeded to grill me about asking Them to check stuff & then go somewhere else. Isn't that what they do Anyway!?!? And what business is it of theirs who I go to? They had my car for over an hour did not do nothing and gave my keys back refused to change my oil. No wonder they have 2 1/2 stars they were trying to work on a one star rating. We only came here because we were told when we bought them that as long as we had these tires, we'd get them balanced at no charge. I'm giving 1 star because there is no option for zero. The 1 star is because we had to call 2 different Big OTire and the corporate office before Steve at the counter who still won't acknowledge there should be no charge insists there's a charge for a balance. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION!!!!! ***Update** To answer the owners reply. According to the CORPORATE office, 1) it doesn't matter which location you buy your tires from. 2) the warranty we declined has NOTHING to do with the lifetime balance program. These are 2 different things, 3) we will NEVER be back to this location for our tires needs, and 4) will NEVER recommend this location to anyone! read more

Once again Big O Tires QC has me looking for anyone else to service my company truck. Take a '24 F-150 in for an oil change, did get the call back this time that it was ready, and relatively quickly (only a couple hours). Go inside to get the keys and pay, only to be told the total is $255.54. Thought I'd misheard him and asked, "$255 for an oil change?" "Well yeah, the oil change, the tire rotation, swapped out the cabin filter, swapped out the wiper blades...". Didn't bother to call and ask about any of it, just did it and charged $70 for wiper blades that I'd just replaced less than a month prior, $35 to swap out a $12 cabin filter, tire rotations that used to be part of the package. Do yourself a favor, find somewhere else to take your vehicle for routine service. read more

I was told by Kyle who answered that I could come on in and they would help me out. Our journey started in January 2023 and the saga continues. Our sons jeep had a little oil leak. We were told it needed a new new end seal, which should be easy and no big deal. However, the car was returned to us and every single check engine light on. It wouldn't even shift gears. We heard they may have put the wrong fluid in the transmission or something was done but never received the whole story. They installed / wired the transmission wrong causing wiring to melt or sever. The exhaust was installed wrong as they worked to put everything back correctly causing all that wiring to melt and the car sounded like an airplane. We have had more issues than we can document here and we have tried to work with Big O and their staff. After visit number 11 and a rebuilt the transmission the car was leaking all the fluid all over our paver driveway and garage floor this weekend. Now they won't even return our phone call. I get good mechanics are hard to come by but what should have been an easy repair has turned into a mess and our son has had no car to drive for 6 + weeks and has now put over 3000 miles on our car so he can get to and from work. It's hard to get a 20 year old a rental car for 35$ a day so we are out of a good amount of additional cost. We are now going to tow the car to a new repair shop in hopes they can correct this since IMhO they should have immediately transferred this to a transmission shop to correct whatever they did. Big o corporate was also no help. They don't return calls but we have a case number. My recommendation - do your homework before you take you car anywhere. read more

If you read this review and still take your vehicle to Big-O you have no one to blame but yourself. Scratched my brand new wheels popping the center hub off and then lost the hub clips, installed the hub covers without the clips and lost 2 caps at $150 a pop. Next time in they did the oil change and did not rotate the tires, lied said they did, I showed them the chalk mark and they told me I had a lug nut that was over tightened so they could not rotate them. They are the only ones that have ever put a wrench on the tires other than the factory. Made them rotate the tires, scratched my rims again and used the wrong size socket on the impact marred my lug nuts. My wife takes her Highlander in 48k miles 6000 miles on the tires for an oil change. They tell her that her struts are shot and they can't rotate the tires unless she installs new struts. $2000 job. I go up to talk to them. I show the manager that seals on the struts are still intact and there is nothing wrong with the struts. He eventually concedes and then tells me it was not the struts that were the issue it's the tires. The tires are cupped due to a lack of rotation. They change the oil every 3000 miles and are supposed to rotate the tires. I finally lost all patience and unloaded on them. Dishonest business practices, lack of skilled personnel, over all slimy organization. The front end guys make commission on up-sales and have tier bonus for volume of up sale per shift, week, month.... Terrible business model. read more

looks like I will just add to the very bad reviews of the big O tires location on power rd and germann. my Girlfriend brought her car in because of a nail in her tire. The location that I go to in San tan valley repairs them for free. When they fixed the repair at power road, the bill was $40.00 for a flat tire repair. No one came out after looking at it to give her an estimate for her approval. I think that since she was a female, they took advantage of her. Plus, I told her it would be free, like a few other times that I had used big O For the same repairs. I learned that this location uses the big O name but does not honor the sale flyers or customer free tire repairs. Keep this issue in mind when you are looking for a repair shop. Absolutely horrible staff at the front counter. Troy Jackson, the regional manager as well as the Veteran Owners, have been notified. I was lied to, with no respect for the fact that 3 other Big- O Tire stores confirmed my wheel balance is covered for the life of my tires. The Tire warranty and the wheel balance have NOTHING to do with each other. What makes it ever worst is, I've had my wheels balanced 2-3 times before at Big-O and at this location twice. The service writers, including the Manager should be retrained or fired, as I'm sure their 2.5 rating is reflective of their ability to effectively perform their jobs efficiently! I took my wife's family car to Big O to have her car checked. It was not steering smooth and she wanted to know why it knocked when she hit a small bump. The shop said she needed new struts. So I paid for new struts. The car drove worse after repair. I returned to shop and they assured me that everything was working fine, but recommended an alinement. The next visit we noticed a small amount of oil on the garage floor and asked to look at it. They said the brake systeM was bad and needed to be completely replaced. All brakes shoes, pads, cylinders and a complete flush. I told them the struts were still making a banging noise every time we leave our driveway. They then recommended replacing the sway bar and steering components. After everything was replaced at a cost of more than the car is valued at. We thought it would be safe to drive. We were wrong. The brake light started coming on while driving. So we took it back to the shop and they said it was a sensor. Again the light came on. They fixed it again and said bring it back every 50 miles so they can check the sensor. When I took it back Friday, they said the master cylinder was bad. I told them they replaced the entire system 5000. They said it was out of warranty. I told them they should repair the car because the system has not worked since they touched it. They refused to repair it unless I paid them more. I said no. They then gave me my car back with no brakes at all. It was even worse than when I brought it in. I immediately took it to a certified master mechanic and he was shocked at what he found. First of all the car would not stop while he tried to bring it into the work bay. Then he got it on the rack and took the tires off and found the struts were installed on the wrong side of the car. Left strut on right wheel and Right strut on left wheel. All of the sway bars and steering connectors were installed incorrectly and were missing the safety pins. None of the brake lines were affixed to the struts to keep them from snapping while driving. The rear brakes were also not installed correctly and were so loose that the emergency brake would not work. The front brake caliper bolts were fastened incorrectly. The CV Joint/Boot were ripped and leaking. The entire system was installed in a dangerous and negligent manner and we are only lucky we were not killed because of it. Big O should not be allowed to let unqualified people work on cars safety systems! read more

Another service, another annoyance. Was told I couldn't leave the place with this drain plug in the car because the head is rounded off.... Bull crap..... a six point could easily put 150 ft lbs to this with absolutely no issues. Sooooooooooo tired of repair shop lies. The vehicle has well over 135k miles, of course the drain plug will not look new, but there is nothing wrong with this one, the rubber base on it still looks new too..... Upselling annoys me, a forced upsell is unconscionable and has permanently ran my business of. UPDATE: I was just informed that Big O is now banned for our company vehicles due to the price of my oil change ($115) and the oil plug ordeal. Side note, I had an appointment and the oil change still took over an hour and a half......... read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! Came in to get two tires and alignment done. Costed way more than discount tire and got a lecture from the older man there thinking i'm some idiot. After it all I get into my car and it completely pulled right worse than ever so clearly my alignment was not fixed. I came back and they said it was some other issue they never talked about with me and that's why they couldn't fix it. They said they would refund and try to fix it. They did not fix it, it was still pulling right and they said they didn't feel that. The manager is unprofessional along with many other workers there. The manager and another worker sat in the back of the lobby being homophobic talking about how "gay" things were. Trust me save your time, money and energy and go somewhere else. We were just waiting in the parking lot, they did not realize we were watching them and they called and said it was going to be $450 as they had to go in under certain parts and would have to charge a couple hours of labor. Would give a 0 star if there is an option! I came in to get my tires balanced and rotated. They got them done in 10 minutes. I don't even know if they do anything at all. I got my car back and found out the light was still on. Came in to tell them, they said to give it a couple of miles and the light will turn off. I drove around to get my errands done and the light was still on! Came back to tell them and they sent someone to fix it. The light turned off but couple hours later, the light turned back on again. I've had my cars in there several times, mostly with good results. However, this last event has left a bad taste in my mouth. I had a coolant leak and they estimated the thermostat, so I had them change it out. Got the car home and guess what, still had a coolant leak. Took it back and this time was told it was the water pump. They gave me a quote of over $1100.00! I had the car repaired elsewhere and when the mechanic had to remove the front right wheel, he couldn't get it off. Why? Big O had cross-threaded the lug nut and he had to break it to get the wheel off. How do I know Big O did that? Because they have done all my tire work for almost 20 years. So now I have to take it in and see if they will repair that at no charge or will they rip me off again? Do you know how tired (no pun intended) I am of always returning because the work isn't done right the first time? I'm tired (again, no pun intended) of these "shops" where the "mechanics" must have flunked McDonald's french fry making and now attempt to repair cars. read more

Worst ever. Went in for oil change and tire rotation ( I had purchased tire on previous visit) When I pulled into my driveway, oiled was POURING onto my driveway! I called and told them I was coming back immediately. As I pulled up, I left the car running with oil pouring out. Apparently, the oil filter was not installed properly. I had to take it back again because it was still dripping oil. The manager said they would have someone clean my driveway and they would call me. It's been 3 weeks and I have never heard from them. I picked up a nail in my Challenger tire on my way home so I swung in for help. The original gentleman was so great. He helped me find the nail as I told him about my recent gift of acquiring them. As I was scoffing he smiled and said "pull up, my boys will get you taken care of". Everyone was really kind and helpful. We took our truck in a few weeks ago for an oil change, tire rotation and fix a slow leak in the r driver tire. Came out this morning and found the r driver tire low again. So no rotation and no repair, even tho it's on the invoice. Now I wonder if they actually changed the oil or did the alignment and rotation I paid for on my car last month.
