The worst experience I've ever had. I was called and told that my tire had been delivered sat in the waiting room for two and a half hrs before someone told me that it wasn't taken off the delivery truck and was going to be at least another hour before the truck driver returned. i went into big o tires on Friday after making an appointment to get tires put on and alignment done. they told me the car was ready. I asked them if they wore not able to get they alignment done due to bad inner tie rod end. I went home and installed a new inner tie rod end and went back that Monday. they called me 1h30min after my drop off time to tell me it was ready. I went inside and asked how it went. they told me the inner tie rod was lose and they wore not able to do the alignment. I went out to the car and it wasn't even attached to the rack and pinion. someone at the shop disconnected it. if I didn't check it I could have crashed or did damage to other cars around. I asked them if it was a service they can do since I was stuck their. they charged me additional money to fix what they did in order for me to drive the car. read more

I had been getting tires here ever since I could drive, but this last time was enough for me and I won't be going back. In April of 2011 I purchased 4 new tires with a 3 year/80k mile warranty. The past few weeks I had noticed that they were very worn, after only 28,000 miles. I have been rotating the tires with every oil change, but Big O refuses to honor my warranty because they state that my rotations were not frequent enough. They also stated that I had only received two rotations since the tires were purchased, which I don't believe is correct, however I don't have a way to verify this since they don't give you receipts for rotations. If you do choose to do business here, make sure you request receipts for your rotations so you will have proof in case you have a future warranty issue. I get that there are certain restrictions in the warranty, and that it's my responsibility to make sure I understand the warranty. I will fully admit that I did not read the fine print on the back of my carbon receipt in the tiny little section where it mentions the rotation requirement of every 5000 miles. However, I do think it would be a much better customer service practice to have employees give a brief verbal disclosure of the rotation requirement. Something like "by the way, make sure you rotate them every 5,000 miles so you don't void your warranty" would have been very nice. I had my car in here at least 3 times and no one mentioned that I was waiting too long to rotate; it was always just "thanks, here's your keys." How come no one ever mentioned that I was in the process of voiding my warranty any of the three times I was in? Not until I had a problem did they choose to mention this requirement. I was rotating about every 7000-9000 miles, it's not like I was neglecting rotations completely. The tires should have lasted MUCH longer than 28,000 miles, and Big O has offered nothing but a "sorry about that." After purchasing multiple sets of tires here over the past 10 years, I will not be returning. read more

I went in for an oil change & everything seemed fine until I got on 80 and drove about 50 miles and smelled something burning. I pulled over and saw that they had forgotten to replace the oil filler cap, fortunately it remained sitting on the engine where they had left it so I added a couple of quarts of oil and replaced the cap. I returned to the shop and they acted like it was no big deal and really seemed put out when I insisted that they clean the oil that had sprayed all over the engine and underneath of the hood. read more

Not Impressed! First called this location this past Monday for pricing. I was very specific regarding the size and rating of tires (4) I wanted. Travis quoted me two brands of tires, one at $68 each and the rating I was looking for and one "V" rated set of tires at $103 each. (For those who aren't tire savvy like me, a "V" rated tire is a performance grade tire rated for speeds up to 150 mph.) I inquired more about the cheaper of the two when Travis decided to ask what make and model of car this was for. After telling him, he insisted that we needed the 'V" rated tires. I explained my wife did not drive a performance car or fast enough to need those tires. He became very short with me and said either was in stock if I was interested before hanging up. My wife and I decided to go down in person and have the cheaper of the two installed anyway. Upon entering the location, I was distraught to see 4 people standing around doing nothing. Second impression; not good. I stated we were there to get four tires after one of the four employees decided it was their turn to help someone. The girl that stepped up quickly turned the floor over to Travis after I told her I had just talked to him on the phone. I informed Travis we needed four of the cheaper tires installed we had just spoken about. He put together a quote and passed it across the counter for our approval and signature. $525 was the total to my amazement. I am not a human calculator but $68 times a quantity of 4 is not $525. My wife and I quietly reviewed the quote to which such charges as "Nitrogen Fill", "Roadside assistance", "Tire Disposal", "Tire Installation", "Replace Valve Stems" and etc. were included. We did not recall asking for half of these other than the required disposal, removal and installation charges so were quick to have them removed. However, maybe a good customer service associate would ask the customer if they were even interested or inform them of the benefits before adding them!?! When I asked Travis why we had been told "V" rated tires were required for a 152 Horsepower daily commuter, he shrugged and said "It's just for performance and handling", but nothing about them being required. Just what I thought, he was full of it... All said and done, we paid just about $430. Not a bad price at all for 4 tires, but the amount of haggling and requirement to tolerate poor/shoddy customer service was exhausting! The only good part of the experience was that it only took 30 minutes for them to install the tires. We won't ever go back! read more

My wife and I were in the midst of moving from California to Colorado with a friend. Our friend just had new tires placed on her vehicle from a competitor in California. After traveling over the pass, her driver side tire became loose and after inspection, we noticed three lugs were not completely tightened down. This Big O was in the vicinity and we took her vehicle to be checked out. Not only was the service fantastic, but the team took time to take all four tires off, inspect the wheels and retighten everything without charging my friend. Was so shocked and disappointed to go in there and find 90% of the staff with no covoid protection on, NONE. There by putting all of the customers at risk. There is no protection between the customers pay station and the employees either ( no plastic protection.) i was forced to go sit outside on the curb while I waited 3 hours for the car. When i asked why they wore nothing ( as I paid a very large bill) I was met with a steely silence as if I had no right to ask. read more

Let me start by saying that I was a long term customer of Big O Tires, and have used them for many years. I went there a couple of weeks ago for an oil change. When I have my oil changed there, they say they rotate and check the tires, and they say they also check all fluid levels. A couple of days after having my oil changed & SUPPOSEDLY tires rotated, a coworker pointed out to me a large nick in the sidewall of one of my tires & said that if I didn't get a new tire, I would risk a blowout. Unfortunately, I have an all wheel drive, which means, replacing all 4 tires. When I went back to Big O to ask the manager why this hadn't been pointed out to me, he apologized, & THEN pointed out that the wear bar was showing & that I needed new tires anyway. Why this wasn't pointed out to me when I was there originally was beyond me. This cost me $650 for new tires. But the real kicker came this morning. I noticed a funny smell coming from my engine a couple of days ago & called my mechanic, Sierra Auto Sport. When I brought in my car into my trusted mechanic Brad, he had the unfortunate duty to tell me that my coolant tank had the bare minimum of coolant in it, was cracked and needed to be replaced, as it had been leaking. This is $320. If Big O is SUPPOSED TO: check your tires & ALL fluid levels including coolant, why weren't either of these things caught????? Chances are, if they had pointed these things out to me when the car was in for an oil change I would have given them my business. Instead I am out a thousand bucks, and they have lost my business forever. read more

Tremendous customer service!!! Had driven through some construction sites and found a bolt straight through the tread of my driver's side rear tire. It was 4:30 p.m. Fearing that the tire would go flat overnight, I drove to Big O. When I walked in there was a line to get to the counter. Once I made it to the counter and told them the issue it was 5:10 p.m. The person behind the counter grabbed my keys and pulled the car in immediately. The tire was patched, balanced, and back on my car by 5:50 p.m. All for about $27. Doesn't get any better than that!! read more

I've never bought tires here (their prices always seem to suck, when you compare to costco or tirerack) but this is one of the places tirerack sends you if you buy tires from them and they've always done a good job installing the tires for a pretty reasonable price. I went here because it was supposed to be convenient. They quoted me an hour and a half for a basic oil change and it took way longer that. The price is cheap but not worth the slow service. They also lied to me about when my car was going to be done when I checked in after my hour and a half quote had passed. I have never waited this long for an oil change. Excellent place if you like businesses leaving you high and dry. Went in to the shop with an OBD code for Throttle Position Sensor that I needed repaired. Picked up my Jeep when they had "finished" their repair, which to them meant scanning my OBD code and changing my oil. They apologized for their mistake and told me to come back. On my way there the following day, my Jeep won't start (because of the TPS shocker!) and I talked with their manager Chuck to work on getting it towed. He declined to offer a tow or even a discount despite acknowledging that their store told me they would fix a problem that they ended up neglecting. Needless to say Big O Tires on Mae Anne is losing my 4 vehicles of business, and if you're smart, yours as well. The only redeeming factor is Maddy, she is a gem to work with and I'm going to miss our business together. Steer clear!! read more

Tried to get an alignment done today, recently replaced my ball joints and left the outer tied rod a little loose.. not only where they unable to align my car because of this one loose nut but they wanted to charge me a half an hour labor to tighten the tierod nut.. and where unable to do the common courtesy of tightening the bolt so i could drive it home safely... So not only are they over priced!!! ($750 for 2 ball joints) but they are not concerned with the safety or well being of there clients. read more

Horrible customer service! Dropped my car off to get my winter tires swapped out at 8am and was told it Would be ready by mid-day. No calls and impossible to get ahold of anyone at the location. Arrived at 4 and still not done. Said possibly by 6pm it would done. Ridiculous! I tried to call their number while there and they have the phones on silent. Every car being serviced was recent and the lady just said, well we can do it by 6....Worst service in town! DO NOT GO THERE!!! read more

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with my experience here. I was quoted a $222 I hour fix that ended up being 3 hours and $75 more because they "quoted me wrong the first time." On my way to work I unfortunately ran over a screw so I took my car in and Chuck got me all set up and ready to go. I got a call 30 mins later saying that I would need to get two new tires due to the screw being in the sidewall. Chuck explained to me what was going on and assured me that I was making the right choice. The car was ready within an hour. Exain was awesome when I was checking out. He was extremely nice and even remembered me from the morning. My battery ended up being dead but Exain was nice enough to jump start my car and clean the corrosion off the battery. On 12-2-15 I brought in a set of wheels with Michelin summer tires to be dismounted and have my Michelin winter tires installed on them. I had called in ahead of time about 4:45pm to see if was a good time to do so. An employee by the name of Shauna stated that it was a good time. When I arrived at the store about 5pm, I was told that I would not be able to have my tires changed over, due to time constraints, and that I would have to come back in the morning. I then stated that I had called in ahead of time, and then I was told by Travis Tebbe that I might be squeezed in, but it would take up to closing time which is 6pm. I said that I would wait and get it done. After my winter tires were mounted, I left my son with my truck to help load the tires, and I went into the office to pay for the service. Chuck Smothers is the person who took payment from me at closing. After I paid and left I returned to my truck, and was leaving when my son asked me if they told me, to which I inquired what? My son then told me that a technician ruined one of the tires. I then got out of the truck to go look at my tire that was dismounted, and there was a 12-inch slash in the sidewall of the tire. When I returned to the tire office to inquire about this ruined tire, it was closed. I returned to the Big-o-Tire store the next morning on 12-3-15, and spoke with Travis Tebbe who told me that he was the assistant manager. He stated that the manager Chuck Smothers was there that night, and was aware of the situation. He said that my tire was old, and that is why it happened. I explained to him that my tires were not old, and had a lot of life on them. I even went across the street to Discount Tire and had Brian inspect my 3 good tires and 1 ruined tire. To which he stated that my tires, save the ruined one, were good with lots of life left in them. He told me that the technician messed up, and probably didn't let the air out of the tire when he went to dismount the tire. Brian even when further to explain that my tires are low profile tires that require the shovel machine to be placed carefully in the right area so that rupture doesn't occur.   I then explained to Travis Tebbe that my vehicle is an all-wheel drive, and that the entire set is now unusable. Travis Tebbe said that I should go look for one on eBay. Then he said that he would work with me on a new set of tires. I then told him that I am not going to purchase a set of tires from them. I told him that what they did was wrong and that they damaged my property. I was then met with hostility from Travis Tebbe, who stated that I guess you'll have to take us to court then. I then went to the downtown court office, which provided me with the necessary documentation to file a small claims suit. On 12-4-15 I went to another Big O Tire location and spoke with the manager there Ralph McAuley who inspected my tires said they were good tires, and stated that the technician messed up and put the shovel in the wrong location and that the store in question owes me a set of tires. read more

Been going to Big O since I moved here in 1992, not only for tires but oil changes as well. Last week I went in for 4 new tires, an alignment and an oil change. Left without issue or complaint. Fast forward 5 days, driving down the road I hear a strange sound start pulling over to the side and realize I have a flat. First flat in over 20 years so had I not just bought brand new tires I'd figure I was due. Wait for roadside service call up Big O, AJ answers, just so happens AJ sold me the tires 5 days prior, explained the situation he said to come in they'd take care of me. Make it to the store explain to someone else, sorry didn't get the name, the situation was told it be a 2 hour wait. I wasn't happy probably more to do with the whole situation more than just the wait but I thought since it would be just a repair on a new purchase I wouldn't be stuck for 2 hours. I'm waiting and they actually call me back a lot sooner than expected to let me know my tire was unrepairable. WHAT! How is that possible I just bought them.. their claim was I ran over something and the hole was too big to plug. Now I must mention the tire did not blow and the roadside tech nor myself saw anything in the tire. So here's where my frustration really starts... they can't repair it so I need to BUY a new tire I did not have the repair warranty. How can a tire less than 5 days old not have any warranty.. I tried to explain to Chuck the store manager that I assumed I had the warranty as I wasn't offered it, he told me they don't take it off unless it was refused, so basically he was calling me a liar, in my opinion. Long story short as I could go on and on... I told them after they offered me the option of buying the warranty now, which would do me no good for my current tire, that I would take my business else where, Chucks response was ok. Not once was there an apology not once was I felt like my business mattered. I should also mention my kids, husband and all 3 vehicles from work went there and it just doesn't matter. Just say no! After I had an oil change, the salesperson called me and straight up lied to me, presumably because I have breasts, and tried to fleece me for an extra $300. Not only did they try to sell me rotors I don't need, they tried to sell them to me TWICE-- once as rotors, and once as "hardware" (I wish I could upload photos of the BS estimate). Seriously considering reporting them to the NV AG's office for attempted fraud. I wouldn't trust them with more than an oil change, if that. Also, terrible customer service. They will routinely answer the phone in the middle of your conversation, instead of placing the caller on hold. read more

This was my first time here and it was a wonderful experience. I went to. Tire plus right before and they told me I couldn't get an oil change until Tuesday( it was sat) or else it will take all day if I did it that day. When I said I will go somewhere else they didn't even care. Right when I walked into Big O Tires I was greeted and got in right away with only a 30-45min wait. Staff was very friendly and kept me posted on the status of my car often. Very profession and fast. They didn't even try to sell me anything or fix anything with my car. I would not ever leave my car at this location again. They had given me a warranty on a brake job that they not only failed to stand behind but then made a claim that I needed 4 new calipers at once! I had the vehicle looked at by two other mechanics and both agreed that the calipers were fine. Went in because my husband, 9 month old baby and I are traveling 600 miles to see family. Wanted an overall check on my car, an oil change and also for them to find the source of a warning light and fix it. Well, they did ALL of that and also rotated my tires for $55. Big O was having a Black Friday sale so I went in for an estimate on snow tires. They advertised if I bought three tires, the fourth tire would be free. Not! Apparently snow tires were not included in the Black Friday sale. The estimate was $1,056 for the four tires. Then I went to Discount Tires just down the street and got a quote for THE EXACT SAME tires for $888, plus The Discount quote included the extra tire warranty, three rebates totaling $230 in Visa gift cards plus 6 months no interest financing! I hit the tire trifecta! That brought the Discount quote down to $658 after the rebates. Can you say Mount Rose season pass? The money I saved between the Discount quote and the Big O quote paid for my season pass!! I made an appointment at Discount and got my new tires within an hours wait. The sales rep at Big O didn't even mention the $70 Bridgestone rebate to me, by the way. Now pray for snow! read more

Only giving one star so that I can write this review. Went in to get windshield wipers and Aaron and Manuel were unbelievably rude for no reason. We came inside and asked nicely if they could recommend us anything and not only did he throw windshield wipers on the ground because he couldn't fix the package but this was the WORST customer service I have seen in a long time. We have been loyal Big-O customers for 10 years, and have bought several full sets of tires at the Mae Anne store. We have also had all car maintenance for four different cars done at this store over the same amount of time. Over 10 years, we've probably spent in excess of $7,500 at this store. We Bought a tire at the Mae Anne Big-O tires shop on 9/6/12 that supposedly was 'covered' for the life of the tire. Their flat repair policy says that a tire will be repaired if a repair is possible, or replaced if it cannot be repaired. Nothing was stated at the time of purchase indicating that this guarantee applied only to their store brand tires. On 9/28/12 the tire failed due to a "road hazard." There was a pinch in the side wall of the tire near the rim that the employees insisted was road hazard damage. Perhaps it was. Things happen. Understandably, sidewall damage is not repairable. Perhaps naively, I assumed they would replace the tire. This is when things got bad. Travis (sales rep) and Mike (manager) insisted that while their Big-O tires are covered for such events, this tire (Goodyear) was not. I asked them to show me a place in writing where it was stated that their coverage only applied to store brand tires. They could not - because it does not exist! Incidentally, since I was buying only ONE tire at the time the tire was purchased, I was not offered the 'road hazard protection' that they generally try to pawn off on every person who walks through the door. The manager (Mike) basically called me a liar when I told him that I would have purchased the protection had it been offered. It just got better from there. Apparently, in the three weeks that elapsed between purchasing the first tire and a replacement, the price doubled. The original $120 tire was now $250. We'll be taking our (now) FIVE cars up the road for future service. Upon visiting the tire shop across the street, they chuckled when I told them the story ... and stated that they get several people a week into their shop with the same experience. Big-O definitely won't get my NEXT $5,000 worth of service dollars! In fact, they won't receive another red cent from me - or anybody in my family. read more
