I don't often give five star ratings but these guys really shine! I came in and got four new tires for my SAAB A couple of weeks ago. I was helped by John who was very informative and helped me pick out the right tire for both my budget and driving needs. By the way, I didn't get the cheapest tire. I actually got a more expensive tire that was warranted for more miles. I drive for a living and put a lot of miles on the car. What a giant improvement these new tires have made. The car drives better, the handling is better and, most important to me, it's quieter inside the cabin. John also told me about the three year replacement warranty. It's super inexpensive and covers your tire even if you puncture the sidewall. They will replace the tire for free. That's a pretty good deal! In addition to that they fill up your tires with nitrogen and you can come in anytime to have your tires checked and rotated on schedule. The second part of the story is this: Three months ago they advised my friend to replace his tires because they were old, dried out and, even though they looked decent, they could have blown out. Well, that's exactly what happened. My buddy was stranded on the side of the road with a blown tire and had to call AAA. This all could've been avoided if we went to Big O at the start. Once we chose tires that matched the good tires on the car, they discovered that the wheels had been bent from a little contact with the curb. They took care of that too. In case you haven't gotten the point yet, I couldn't be happier with the service I received here at Big O. You can buy tires anywhere and prices are comparable but where can you get excellent service and guys that actually care about what they're doing? Here at Big O, that is where. I'm reviewing this store for my sister who came here for brakes. Come to find out, her brakes were fine. She really needed tires! The staff was very honest and attentive. Calling her at each stage to give updates on the service. They offered her 4 or 5 different types of tires, so she could choose the ones best for her budget. The guys at this shop are very kind and patient. They're friendly and very professional. When she arrived, there was a woman getting out of her car using a walker and the worker ran up to her so she didn't have to walk too far to give her info. Had a coupon for an oil change so I thought I'd check it out. The staff was nice and helpful and they didn't try to sell me on anything, not even a filter! Definitely a first. I was a loyal Big O customer in Alameda for a Loong time until they changed to another company. Big O has stores up and down the west coast which makes it convenient and they do the Customer First throughout their system! Needed to get a 3 year wheel alignment package and took it into this one where Mark is manager... He knows his stuff and his guys there, ie techs/ mechanics know what they are doing and are very thorough. He went through the final papers of the results of the alignment...decided to get the 5 year package which allows you to transfer one time to another car... Car was nearing time for struts and shocks and Mark did not push, only what the techs observed when doing wheel alignment and just mentioned. SInce we will be taking car for long trip up to Seattle and then down to LA, went ahead and got struts and shocks replaced. Really professional folks and the techs/ mechanics really know their stuff and super careful and professional. Son also came and purchased the 5 year alignment plan for both his cars. I had a long drive back to Los Angeles and stopped over here due to very low tire pressure concern on my front right tire. The guy at the front came to take a look, and thankfully there were no nails or holes in the tire. The last two times I've been in for a nail in tire (by the way I didn't buy these tires I'm driving on now from them). Needed my tires replaced and was in a hurry so I called these guys. They said they had the tires in their warehouse which is a few minutes away. I have the guy the model of the tires and since I was in a hurry they agreed they'd get the tires by the time I got there. They were quite a bit more expensive than another place in the area but because they promised to install the tires quickly I went to them. Long story short, about 45 minutes into waiting for the installation I look at the car and they haven't even moved it or even brought the tires from the warehouse. I do most of my own repairs. I changed out the front suspension on my 2005 Yukon but needed to take to an alignment shop. This is not an easy alignment on a lowered vehicle, but they did a nice job on it. I bought my tires here twice and have had great performance on my 22's. Good group of guys and feel I have paid a fair price for the work they have done. read more

I agree with the other reviews on this location. They are not customer friendly. I spoke to lady named Linda who was nice and helpful (which is how customer service should be). I had a problem with my tires (which I bought from this location). The front seemed to vibrate when I'm on the freeway. They told me my tires could be out of balance, a bent wheel, or tire is out of round. So after speaking with Linda, she told me to come over and they'll check it out free. When I arrived, the employee was not welcoming and asked what I needed. I told them my front tires seem out of balance and I said I bought them here. I never claimed it was their fault. Just wanted to get them checked. The first employee said no problem its under warranty if it was bought here. Second employee asked if I had my receipt. I said no and asked them to look it up. Both employees claimed they do not use computers just paper for their records. So then, I said can you look up my car by license plate or even last name. Sorry we don't keep that here. Are you kidding me? What kind of franchise or professional business doesn't keep track of their customers and their histories. BigOTires is here to provide service to the customer and this time they failed. I hope this place gets shut down. Poor business ethics as well as customer service. Corporate needs to revisit this location and change their nasty habits. I will no longer be going to this location anymore even if its down the block. When you go to a mechanic, what do you want? You want a good price, good service, but most of all, you hope that they aren't going to sell you things you don't need. At this Big O Tire center, they won't over sell you. If you tell them what you want, they'll do their best to fit your needs. If you don't know what you want, but know something is wrong; they'll give you options. I know finding a good mechanic is like finding a good doctor; you just want to find someone you can trust. I also know that any two people can have a completely different experience at the same place. To avoid any potential hassle you may possible receive, try to go when Johny is working. He is the manager and a great guy. He is always courteous and he listens to your needs. Once you start conversing with him, tell him that Abhik from Delta (that's me) told you that he'll treat you well. After speaking with the CSR, he recommended trying to patch it first before purchasing a new tire. After about an hr, the tire was patched up and was running as new. These guys are a joke. I went in to have my car checked.(BROKEN REAR STRUTS) The guy checking the car was making assumptions about what was wrong without even looking at it. Saying that the strut had broken thru the upper mount and that the rear seat needed to be removed to access it. I know for a fact there is no access there. ( i have a custom interior and stereo system so I didn't want it disturbed). So after arguing with him and trying to explane to him they finally went ahead and pulled my car in. I walk away for a min, when i come back i see the dam mech removing my rear seat. I ran over and told the mech WTF was he doing. I told him not to touch my seat. After arguing with him again he finally raised the car up. To his amazement what i had been telling him was true and he was wrong. After this there was no way in hell i was going to let them fix it. I ended up going to motorsport technique . They replaced my 2 rear struts for a good price and quickly. ***update*** now this happened about 2 months ago. Today i notice my rear seat is not properly seated. I never have any rear passengers so i hadn't noticed. Im going to try to secure it myself. I don't want them touching my car again. Experienced better customer service and pricing at Sears. Took a chance on big-o this time. After I paid I noticed their $22 nitrogen scam "because your tires have sensors". What?! The TPS isn't calibrated to gas type and only gives an alert for very low pressures anyway. Now I have ugly green nipples on my car. I had 1 tire replacement at Big O tires on Sat afternoon. I was told 1hr for the job and after that time passed, car was still parked nothing was started. A 15mins job took loger because of 1hr wait not the actual service. It was a slow service. I refuse to wait longer for a simple repair. read more

I'd be very cautious with this operation. They will tell you that your car needs "run flat" tires, depending on what car model you have. If you contact the dealers or even the the car manufacturer, they will tell you that it's your choice. We walked away from this store, knowing they were either out of touch with the rules or they were trying to up-sell us. So, be very careful if you go here. read more

Anyone that writes a bad review about this place should be shot on the spot. I've been going here for 15+ years. Johnny and his team are the best many of whom have been there forever. Over the years I've taken Ferraris, Bentleys, Lamborghinis, Porsches and unlike other places never once scratch the wheels. If you have a vintage car which requires some experience with special wheels with inner tubes like my 67' Ferrari 330 GTC then this is the place. Ask for Johnny and he'll direct you to the most experienced person. As for the negative reviews? If I could give ZERO stars that's what this Big O Tires would be getting from me!!! First incident about 3 yrs ago, took my 2006 BMW 3 series in for a tire rotation, took them hours to get it done, went to pick up my car when it was done, drove out of the lot on to Washington to make a U turn back to the freeway, as I merged into traffic to get into turning lane, I hear a bang! jump out of my car to notice lug nuts and bolts spinning in the middle of Washington St, as my right rear Tire dangles from the car...THEY NEGLECTED TO TORQUE MY LUG NUTS causing my tire to fall off. They all run out in a panic, as the Manager who was so kool and the only reason I continued to go there tells me if there is any damage to the car let him know and they would pay for it. 2nd incident...Prior Manager retired now. I go in with my 2015 BMW 5 series to get a flat changed, don't know the little guy in there who I guess is now the Mgr, he tells me he can't change the flat because my tread is too low. Pissed I leave. vowing never to go back there again....fast forward to last week, and the only reason I'm going there for a flat repair on my right rear tire is because I'm headed out to my best friends funeral that passed away a week before and they are 3 minutes from my home. Same little manager...Lets take a look he says, after going over to my car inspects it like he's getting ready to purchase my car, comes back and says your lucky we can repair your flat, but your tread is really close to where we may not have been able to change it. He goes back out again, opens my driver side door and looking inside, I walk over to ask what is the problem, he then asks if I have run flat tires on my car, I tell him NO why, he then tells me Oh we can't repair your flat because you don't have run flat tires on your BMW!!! I'm like what the F are you talking about? He says a big O tire got sued because another big o somewhere down in Oregon got sued because they repaired a flat on a BMW that should have had RFT's and the guy had an accident and sued! WTF he must think I'm some fool. I told him to give my keys and left. Went home heated, I called 5 other local Big O tires shops and asked if that is a policy or the case in not repairing a customers tire because he does not have RFT's, everyone of them in shock and astonishment said that they've never heard of that before. Took my car to BMW dealer to have it repaired and they too were shocked to hear such bullshit! Well Mr. LIttle manager, I will be contacting the Corporate Office and the Owner of your little shop and lodge a formal complaint and may even look into discrimination law suit based on your prior lying encounters.
