Was quoted $400 for tires for my car, made the appointment, drive 40 minutes to get there, they tell me that it is actually over $600 and they don't have my appointment in their system. They ask me how low I want to go and offer to haggle with me. I'm not in the business of haggling and I frankly don't want to buy something where the price is contingent on arguing skills. It felt like they were just trying to take advantage of me. I had to explain to her that my studded snow tires cost $600 and I wasn't about to pay that for tires just to get me through the summer, and honestly I just wanted the cheapest tires possible, but I'm not willing to try to haggle like I am at a second rate used car dealership. Went to Ford dealer two years ago. They told me my brakes were real bad. It would cost $900 bucks. Went to big o for a second opinion. They told me brakes were fine. Today I finally had to have my brakes serviced after ford again told me they were bad. Not trusting hem I went to big o. The did the job for $680.00. I will always go there for service. I trust them. You know that annoying thing we humans do where something sucks but we just put our heads down and keep doing the thing that sucks? Just me? Well, as far as I can tell that's the whole reason I kept going back to big o tires after all the many times they jerked me around. An alignment took two hours. Bolting on a knuckle I supplied and putting new brake pads in it took three hours *and they didn't even do the pads*. Then, "How long is this going to take?" "45 minutes." "Okay cool." ...Five hours of sitting in their lobby later... Learning from that experience I figured, fine, I have a jack and jack stand, I'll take the whole wheel off and drop it off and not get *stuck* there in limbo for hours and hours. So, "I'm dropping off this wheel with a flat tire on it and then driving away in my other car. Call me when it's ready." "Will do!" ...Went back the *next day* to find out if they even bothered to get it done, because I'd never gotten any kind of call. Completely forgot to order my tires!! Blew two trailer tires on the trip up to Pinecrest. Called Monday morning and spoke with Larry about my situation and that my trailer is on blocks at the campsite. He told me he had to order three tires and they would be in by 11:30 tomorrow and he would call me. He took down my name, billing address, phone number and credit card number. Said he would apply a $100 deposit. 11:30 came and went. I called at 5 to see what was going on. Asked Shannon if my tires were in and that I was expecting a call. She was very sweet but told me there was no order for me and all she could find was a note on Larry's desk with my name on it. She said she would order the tires and they would be in the next day. I asked that someone call me between 8-8:30 to confirm since I had a valid concern my order would not be taken care of. No call again from Big O so at 9:30 I called Les Schwab, they had them in stock, mounted, paid and was done by 11am. At 11:30 Larry called me to tell me my tires are in. What a joke. Unfortunately, since the business changed hands, the staff seem to be all about selling you some product or repair, giving conflicting information about vehicle or tire condition between staff and/or between visits. This is probably my favorite tire shop to go too. I used to go to America's Tires but they are always busy, and the wait is super long. Customer service: I interacted with someone at the register. She had a great attitude, enthusiasm and bedside manner. The person who worked on my tire was also nice but I didn't interact with him as much. Service: went in to purchase a new tire for my Honda Civic coupe. I did not call ahead for an appointment but I did call to make sure that they were still open late Friday afternoon. The process was simple, tell the rep what you need and she was able to give us an estimated time of service completed, the average cost and where to wait. I brought my tire in and took it out of my trunk, where they took it into their shop and replaced with the new one. They had me wait in the waiting area, where they have coffee and tea displayed out for you. They have seating all around the open room and a tv on. Not ten minutes later, they finished my tire and asked me to pay. If my tire was attached with my car the wait would have been longer, 10 more minutes they said. Had an unpleasant experience at the store recently. Although I was first in line when they opened, and was told 35 to 40 minutes to rotate my tires, I came back after 35 minutes to find out my car had not been touched. When I expressed my frustration to the manager, he gave me a bull crap story about other people having appointments when I did not have an appointment. I know this was not true because the two gentlemen behind me had exchange stories with me before the store opened and I knew they did not have appointments. However, their vehicles were worked on before mine. I have to assume that it was because I was a woman and a blonde he felt he could lie to me and I wouldn't be any wiser for it. I left feeling disrespected and poorly treated. I purchased my tires at this store, but will never walk back through their doors again. So we called Friday November 27th to schedule an appointment to get our daughters car aligned. The guy told us it would take 45 minutes. They had many openings on Saturday so we chose 1pm. We get there at 1245. The guy behind the counter who helped us told us it was going to be an hour and 30 minutes just to align her car! I was like really an hour and 30 to align a car! He then stated well the guys have to eat lunch too. What's the point of having an appointment scheduled if you dont stand by it! As im writing this we are still sitting here and its been 2 and half hours and her car is still up in the air ... definitely would not recommend them unless you have nothing better to do then hang out there! read more

Made an appointment at 10am. Informed that they were behind and it would be at least an hour before my car was seen. I asked to have my alignment checked. My alignment was off and it would cost me $120 to fix. I then asked about tire rotation because I have noticed that this is done concurrently. The mechanic proceeded to say. "If you had told me that you wanted the tires rotated too then I would have put it in the work order". "We are way behind and we don't have time to do a tire rotation. You will need to make another appointment and it's $30 a piece". I am a 60 plus female and I am NOT THE MECHANIC. Big Tires are suppose to be the mechanics!! We were on our way to Yosemite in our motorhome and when we go to our campsite we realized we had a flat tire on one of our dual tires in the rear of the vehicle. We were in the little town of Oak Flat so we didn't have a lot of options to get it repaired. We got in touch with a local tire store and they tried to order us a new tire but couldn't get it for two days. I didn't want to drive the 30 miles or so on mountain roads to get to Sonora so I called Big O. Not only did they have the tire in stock they agreed to have someone drive 45 minutes to deliver it to us at the local tire shop and they installed it. He also said that the air machine has been broken and they have been putting wrong tire/ air pressure in tires all day. That's dangerous !!! Their tires are the cheapest in town but their follow through is horrible. On a Monday I went in for a set of new tires. The woman at the counter said they did not have my size of tire needed and would have to order. I was then passed onto another counter person who took my details down and said the tires would be in on the Wednesday at noon time. We wrote an invoice and I left the counter person with my name and cell before I left upon his request. I arrived on the day and time specified. It was a busy time where many were waiting for service. After waiting in line 30 minutes, I was greeted by a different person from the Monday before. He asked me for my details I left with the other guy. After searching the computer for 10 minutes, could not find me in the system. The guy who took my details was sitting next to the one who was assisting and said, "oh here is his paperwork". He pulled it out from under his desk area. He looked at me square my eyes and told me he forgot to order the tires along with three other people's. He instructed me come back tomorrow at the same time and they should be in with no remorse what so ever. Now I have to re-schedule my travel plans and go back tomorrow at noon to have them fitted. The price for 4 tires was over $200 cheaper than most tire and wheel guys in town. However I would not recommend these guys unless you go in knowing you need to babysit them and help them remember how to do their job correctly. I only have them to stars because of the savings. They still need to place the tires on. I may have to extend this review...we shall see. read more

Big O is definitely no Les Schwab. I possibly had a nail in a tire and I just needed someone to look at it, but the girl at the counter said sorry, too busy. You'll have to wait for two hours. Luckily, a new Les Schwab dealership is being built on the other side of town. That's where I will be taking my business in the future. Horrible! Don't even bother coming here! Alignment? Nope. Yes they said they did it. I physically watched them. The service tech was messing around with other employees when he should have been working on my vehicle. I received no print out on the spect of my alignment (the printer was broken). I asked if I may return when the printer was working in a couple of days... Nope! For some reason the company/owner did not buy the software system to store an electronic copy so I can come back and retrieved this data. This may not bother some people, but this is unacceptable! Made an appointment to bring my car in on a Saturday. I was late and they were polite about it. My TPMS was intermittently flashing. They rotated my tires, checked my brakes and fixed my over inflated tires. This was my first time here and they didn't charge me anything. They warned me about the danger of over inflating and were so kind. Highly recommend! read more

Whats the point of an appointment? I called this location on monday 11/19/2018 to schedule a tire rotation, balance, and alignment on my f350 truck, they said their next available appointment was wednesday 11/21/2018 at 8:00 am so i scheduled it at that time. I showed up at 8:00 am this morning and checked in, i went and grabbed breakfast at a diner. At 9:00am i came back my truck had not moved. I asked the gentleman at the front what the hold up was and he said they only had 1 "tire guy" right now and quoted me another 1 hr and 30 mins. So i took note of the cars being worked on and left. i came back 1 hr and 40 mins later MY TRUCK STILL HAD NOT MOVED?!?!? on top of that all the cars being worked on were different. I asked the same guy what the hold up was and he told me i had a full size truck and they only have 1 lift. i then told him all the cars were different and i had an appointment 2 and a half hours ago!! he fumbled around for a bit then i took my keys and left. read more

I had a bad experience at this shop last year. I vowed never to go back. Yesterday I needed to get new tires. Danny Tyler gave me a fantastic quote included alignment and replacing a censer that had been dinging for 2 years. The service was off the chart. The employees have always been nice and courteous, but the service our car received was not so great. We have taken our cars to them for oil changes for a few years now and we recently purchased a Mercedes and also take it to them. We aways get the inspection with the oil change and we thought it was standard to check the air filter. After our new (to us) car started driving funny and we take it back to the dealer we learn the air filter is clogged and needs to be changed. Turns out the air filter is in a funny spot that is hard to check so Big O never checked it. I can understand that it was in a difficult spot, but maybe someone should have told us that so we were not counting on them having checked it. read more

Dropped in for a quick oil change while getting lunch next door. After 2 hours they finally were finished and tried to convince me that I needed a 4 1/2 hour $700 brake job. While I did need brakes the normal cost for this is well below $500. I ended up doing them myself for $75 in parts in about an hour. read more

I took two cars in. 2003 Lexus for tires. 99 Durango for brake job. The Lexus had two blow out the next day. When we returned to the shop they said it was because fix a flat had been used in them and it corroded the rims and made them blow out. I don't think that's accurate to begin with. Also if there was a problem with the rims they should've told us then. They also broke several Lugnuts. And didn't bother to replace those. So we were driving on three Lugnuts on two of the tires. And there's no way to fix a flat was in both of them. I end up having to buy one of the tires to replace the two. They were "nice enough" to warrantee the other one and "only" charge me the new warranty on the new tire. They f-ed up the brake job. Didn't put the hardware on right. They're going to do that for free. But they told me it would be done in an hour and then decided to reschedule it for the afternoon. Don't go here. They suck. Their customer service sucks! read more

I have hesitated to write a review about this store for a few years now but after my last visit I can no longer hold back. First of all, twice I had tried to have an alignment check done but they ran out of time and couldn't accommodate me even though I had an appointment. They were able to do an oil change and charge me for tires but not do the alignment. Then when they did have time to do the alignment, they told me they couldn't do it because "it wouldn't work". What? All they had to do was Google it and realize they had to use the actual physical key instead of the electronic key. Took me 10 seconds to figure it out. ..and I ended up taking it to Les Schwab tire who didn't need any coaching. Then yesterday, I was so upset! I took my car there because needed an oil change and had warranty on the tires that needed to be rotating and balanced. Also, there warning light that has been coming on about the automatic brake system. I told them twice over the phone about it and when I had come in to drop my car off I told him about it they told me that they would definitely check it out (and had to make sure there was a mechanic there that day in order to a accommodate my request). When I went to pick up my car, they hadn't even looked at the warning light! The guy at the counter seem to not know what I was talking about. He said he'd have to go ask the mechanic and he wandered in the back. While he was in the back I looked at my paperwork and noticed that the box wasn't checked next to "check transmission fluid" when he came back out I pointed it out to him and he just guessed.. He said "well that's probably because you have a sealed transmission and they couldn't check it." I said "well can you please find out for sure because I had to replace my whole transmission in August and I don't want to have any problems with the transmission" . He was all flustered and ran in the back all upset at me that he had to go back again and talk to the mechanic. When he comes back out he tells me that "well your transmission is leaking fluid" . It's a good thing I asked! Because I wouldn't of known this if I hadn't make him made him go back and ask. My transmission could potentially go out on me any day if it runs out of fluid! I asked him for a third time about the warning light on the automatic brake system. He said "I don't know anything about that you'll have to talk to the person that fixed your transmission" . Really? Transmission shops have nothing to do with breaking and tires. My transmission shop was the one that told me to take it somewhere to have it checked out in the first place! He, at this point was very rude to me and seemed like I was inconveniencing him, making him do his job! Never again will I take my car here! read more

This is an issue of being promised ZERO percent on a card and it was never initiated by Big O Sonora as promotion so I paid interest trying to reverse $145 total. BEWARE!!!!! DISGRACEFUL service. I had the misfortune of coming here twice. The first time was a pitiful attempt at a transmission flush. They left the fluid in my transmission SO LOW it nearly caused even more damage. The second time was a simple battery change, which I thought no one could possibly be incompetent enough to mess up. Big surprise, wrong again. They forgot to secure the positive adapter, so I had to do it myself in the middle of the road on my way home. To top it all off, both times the staff were all incredibly rude. I will never take a chance on this place again in my entire life, and neither will anyone I ever meet.
