I was given a sales pitch for new tires, very high pressure. All I wanted was a tire rotation. I went to this Big O tire and had my tires rotated with no high pressure sales pitch. very poor customer service this morning. I had an 8 o'clock appointment for an oil change. I got there at 8:15 AM. I apologize profusely for being 15 minutes late. They said there was one jeep ahead of me and my car is next. After an hour and 45 minutes. I got up and I went to the desk and I asked the gentleman how much longer. We both looked at the parking lot where my car was still sitting there. It's not even being driven back into the shop. I politely asked for my keys and I said thank you. The gentleman at the desk said ma'am did you want to reschedule your appointment and I looked at him and I said no. And then he goes for the record you came in at 8:45 AM. that was not true. I already knew that I was going to be 15 minutes late. So I bought my headphones to sit down for the long wait of getting my car done. But if you were gonna argue about how long I was waiting. And if you're gonna argue about why you didn't take my car back after the jeep. And if you weren't gonna come up and talk to me as a customer after you realize you made a mistake. And if you're going to not own up to the business you work for and be a jerk. Then nobody should ever take their car there and nobody should ever trust you to do their car. This is a prime example of why I am really distrustful to take my cars to any car places where there are only men working and they can nickel and dime women and treat them how they how they want to and think that women will just take it. I hate this kind of business practice. I'm suspicious of this already. And then I asked him if if he I was like I'm already in your system because I've had my my oil my tires changed over on the southside location. He said that none of the locations are linked up. Since i bought my tires from the southside location. The gentleman also showed me this little area where I can get coffee, tea and water. The area was really messy. There was one cup that looked like it has been used. I opened the small fridge. There was a used water bottle sitting in there. It probably belong to a staff member. I was like well at least they tried to have beverages for the people. I didn't take any. I just sat down with my headphones and waited. To be honest this all really could have been resolved if somebody had just come up to me and said hey I saw that you dropped your car off a minute ago we took somebody else ahead and or we are waiting on a part for the car ahead of you it's going to be longer. Do you wanna come back at another time or do you wish to continue to sit here and stay. A little interaction with the customer would've been all I needed to change this interaction this morning. I just asked her you should keep your customer aware. also for the business owners. I actually feel truly bad for you. To hire a bunch of not very customer service pleasing people to run your desk. And people who may be don't really care about themselves or their lives are the job that they do. No where on the coupon was it mentioned, ' not available at all locations'. They did honor the higher price coupon. Came to Big O to get a oil change. The people were not friendly and made me feel like my being there was a bother to them. The service was terrible. The tech working on my car would work on it for only a few minutes then stop to talk some of the other techs. He also went next door leaving my car setting in the bay with no one working on it for 20 mins. He came back with a drink and some snacks. Worked on my car for 5 mins then went and ate his snacks in the office. I would not recommend this location of Big O. read more

We took our daughter's car here for an oil change on April 1st of 2024. In an unfortunate series of events, the Big O team either forgot to replace the oil, or forgot to put the oil pan drain cap back in place and the oil leaked out as we drove it home. Irregardless of which mistake was made, the car was operated without oil*(under the assumption that it had oil). Shortly thereafter (about 6 miles of driving it), it seized up. This resulted in the engine being badly damaged and the car being inoperable. They did take blame for the mistake and promised to make it right. I can forgive mistakes and it did seem like they were willing to do the right thing, but when we were offered much older replacement parts to fix it and I said we would not accept it, things got unpleasant. (eg: phone calls not returned, a curt tone in dealing with us felt was felt, our need to get a rental car while it was being fixed was not ever filled.) The offer that was given regarding a rental car essentially resulted in our not being able to get one, unless we were willing to pay out of pocket the rest of the amount that it actually costs to rent a vehicle, we kept getting promises that the parts for the vehicle were coming in, but then would be told it would be another few days when the estimated date of the fix arrived). When we asked the insurance company representing Big O to reimburse us for the towing cost (approx. $100 by the time we moved the car to the place that we felt would fix it properly), we were told they would look into it. We also asked that the cost of the oil change (approx. $70) be reimbursed (since service was not properly provided). As it turns out, after quite a bit of time on the phone, and a ton of phone tag (mostly me leaving unreturned messages), we were told these reimbursements were the individual shop's responsibility. When we spoke with the shop manager about these issues, we were told we had to take it up with the insurance company. And back and forth we went, till I finally gave up on asking. Additionally, since my daughter lives in Phoenix, we had to drive her up and leave one of our cars with her, then go and retrieve the vehicle once the was fixed (lots of time and money spent--not to mention, a huge-huge-huge inconvenience). The vehicle eventually was fixed. Unbelievably, it took almost 7 weeks--*but in their defense, the car repair industry is going through some tough times and there are issues at play regarding getting replacement parts that are out of their control--and we did move the vehicle to another car repair shop after feeling it would be best, so the delays were not entirely Big O's fault. But still, no car for my daughter for 7 weeks. (*it actually was me who made-due without a car for most of that time). We eventually felt compelled to file a complaint with the BBB and I was "bothered" by the shop's response to our complaint. Essentially, they blamed us for not taking their offer of replacing the damaged parts and that they were doing all that could be done to rectify the situation. (But they did not mention to the BBB that the parts that they offered had close to double the milage that my daughter's car had at the time of the mistake, and that many of my phone calls did not get returned, and that the offer for a rental car was essentially useless, etc). As we are all prone to occasional mistakes, I can forgive the "oops!" that was made on April 1st by Big O...(and my guess is that our situation is far from the norm at Big O. It would probably be a safe bet to say that 99.9% of the time they would be a good place to take a vehicle for an oil change). My complaint and reason for giving them a single star is that the handling of the mistake was not very gracious and left us feeling that this particular Big O shop was not very empathetic to our situation. (It think that is a fair assessment and if you don't agree, try going without a car for 7 weeks, or go to a Starbucks for a coffee and get an empty cup handed to you). Finally, I do not want to be one to tell others how to do their job, but I strongly feel that the procedure that I observed being used in their shop when the oil was being changed was not the best strategy anyone to use. It involved our technician working on my car, then without finishing it, moving on to work on another car, then he returned to our car to work on it for a bit more, but then he left it and started to work on another car. I remember thinking that this potentially can lead to forgotten steps in the process. Ironically, (that's not the correct use of the word, "ironically" but let's just move on...) it would come to pass that indeed, a step in the process was missed (likely due to the "stop and go" strategy that they employ while working on vehicles) . Again, I don't presume to know how to run a repair shop, but it cost me weeks of frustrating phone calls, and our being without a car for an extended time. read more

I have returned to Big O Tires on Wilmot in Tucson numerous times, and this time I had a lot of work that needed to be done on my truck's suspension. The owner and staff of the store were all involved, friendly and helpful. They even gave me a ride home and picked me up since it was the better part of a day's work. On top of all this, I got a much better price for all the work than the other estimates I got. My truck is driving very smoothly again and on five new tires...well, driving on four and I have a new spare again, finally. I am very relieved to have this big job done and behind me. This tire store is the WORST! They had an offer indicating buy 2 tires get 2 free. After putting the tires on the car, they let you know the offer is only valid if you purchase their protection program. The program cost slightly less than 2 tires, so purchasing their protection program is the only option. when i needed to access the protection plan when i had a nail in my tire they said it would be a 2 hour wait to have it repaired. i did not have that kind of time on that day. I drove down the road to "DISCOUNT TIRE" and they took the car in right away and I was on my way in 10 minutes, free of charge. "DO NOT GO TO BIG O". Our low mileage 2016 Chrysler Town and Country had some issues with hesitations during acceleration and when throttling up at cruising speed. Brought the van into BIG O for a quote inspection around 8am. I explained the situation to Doug the Manager on duty, he said he would get back to me. I waited until noon and we didn't receive an update so I called the shop, Doug stated they could not find a problem and needed more time. So at 1:30pm we drove to BIG O to see if there was an update. Doug updated me that a radiator leak was causing the hesitations during acceleration because the transmission was not cooling properly. He said, look at the leak under the van...I was shocked we brought the van into BIG O for service with no leaks and now you can see a leak dribbling from the shop service area back to where they parked the van(larger leak under) in the lot. Doug said I would not drive the van until it's fixed, BIG O at noon could not diagnose the problem and hour and half later the van is leaking radiator fluid and needs this repair to be driven? Doug said things will break and there was a small leak(the van is parked in the garage at night and no such leak has been present) Huh, did I missing something here, it was just hesitating during acceleration and now we have to pay $1000.00 for a new radiator and there was no leak at drop-off. I have gone to BIG O on many occasions and Doug and his team does a fabulous job, but in this case I feel there is more to this repair quote than it "just broke" during the quote inspection. read more

I usually go to the dealership for my oil changes but I was trying to save some money being a single mom with 2 kids. I found Big O Tires online and they had a coupon for an oil change and tire rotation which I needed to get done for an upcoming car trip to California. Long story short, they overfilled my oil by more than 2 quarts. My car was running badly and flashing all kinds of warning lights I had never seen before. I even brought my car back the next day and they didn't even check the oil. I discovered on my own a couple of days later that it had been overfilled by a lot and I paid someone to take the oil out. Big O Tires has refused to cover the expenses I incurred as a result of their mistake. We now have a court date and they are still fighting me over this. A $70 oil change has now turned into $500 worth of expenses for me and they refuse to make things right after their mistake. Save yourself the trouble and hassle and don't go here. I drop by this branch for an oil change today 1/18 and I asked the older white guy if the tire rotation is included and he said yes. He said it takes 45 minutes and ended up 2 hours long, but it's okay for me since I was free and not in a hurry. Before I paid my bill I asked the guy at the desk again, if they rotate the tires. He checked the documents and said with confidence that they did. I checked my tires and discovered his tech was untruthful! He didn't rotate my tires. If I haven't marked my tires, there's no way for me to know he was deceiving me. How can I trust this shop is their employees are untrustworthy, negligence and unprofessional now I'm thinking when they say we need to change or replace this, how truthful this tech when they claimed certain things. They are already perfidious of their actions and claimed. His tech actions will cost me more money for my tires in the future because this will cause early deterioration of tires that should be rotated. I'm glad I caught it early. This tech negligence is beyond comprehension. I should not check their work, but it happens to me several times tech are super lazy to do their job. I wonder how they feel if for example if the pilot, police or doctors skip part of their job and cause harm to their family members how they feel the pain and suffering?. Really very unprofessional. No one is managing the shop. Car just sat there on the rack for over an hour while I went to lunch...... I saw it sitting there for 25 minutes until I had to ask two guys in customer service and they finally got a guy to sit on the floor under the car and it took him way too long to drain oil and change filter.... then he disappeared so I asked again and they went and found him and he finally came to refill oil ..... I then told them not to bother to rotate the tires or check the brakes..... And the visit still took over two hours...... My sixteen ninety five special oil change ended up costing twenty five twelve ..... And I listened to lots of other customers while I was sitting there complaining about unexpected charges.... My parking space at my condo has no oil drips in it so I will be interested to see when I go out today after a couple hours if the car is now dripping...... Last week I had my Kia in for an oil change and a nail in my tire. I had also asked them to please rotate my tires. When I got home I noticed same nail was still in my tire. This also meant they did not rotate my tires like I had asked. Had to bring my Kia back this morning to have it done. I then waited an hour and 30 mins for them to tell me my car had been done for over an hour. So I was sitting in their waiting area for over an hour for nothing. They offered me coffee and water, and the service tech was very nice to explain everything to me in detail. The lounge area was comfortable with a flat screen tv to keep me occupied. Big O offers a credit card with 6 months no interest and buy 3 get one free along with a $50 mail in rebate on charges greater than $250. Makes it really easy to decide on the best tires for my car. All that and I was in and out in less than an hour as promised. I will be coming back for oil changes and free rotation, thank you for a great experience. read more

I'll sum this up in one word: TERRIBLE. My wife and I were going to Santa Fe and needed a tune-up and oil change. They did it (after making us wait about 2 hours even though we had an appointment). We drove about 5 miles later that day, and the "low tire pressure" sensor came on. We had AAA come out, and they said it was totally fine and that the sensor in the tire may have gone bad. So we brought it back in before we left, and they said, "The sensor battery went out. It will be about $75 to fix it." It is UTTERLY absurd that the battery just HAPPENED to go out about 3 hours after they did the tire rotation, and then they wanted to charge us for it. We didn't do it as we didn't want them touching anything else on our car. We drove to Santa Fe the next day. The day after we arrived, the large plastic piece that protects the engine underneath above the ground fell down. Luckily, we were driving slowly when this happened and had to call for a repair immediately. Luckily, we got someone the same day, and they told us that "the person who did the oil change put on different nuts than what is supposed to be there. Therefore, they basically destroyed the equipment." That meant we had to spend about $125 to fix it. Again, we are lucky we weren't on the freeway or someplace with lots of traffic, or who knows what could have happened. We originally wanted to go to AAA for an oil change but couldn't get an appointment. Now we know why it was so easy to get one here at Big O. Suffice to say that we will NEVER go back to Big O, and I highly suggest you never go there either, being that this $50 oil change is going to end up costing us something like $200 or more. read more

Came in for a rotation and brakes. Discovered I needed a couple tires too. I was expecting it so no big deal. But then it takes longer. Here's where it gets good. The owner happened to splurge on lunch for the crew. And I do mean splurge. There was tons left over so they offered me pizza and Pepsi! First time I've been served lunch with my tire service. These guys are friendly and run a great shop. Everyone seems great. I'll definitely be back. The only trouble I had was figuring out how to get in the parking lot with all the construction. I phoned Benny at Big O and told him I needed to get a quote to replace my Blower fan in the cabin of my Sorento. He quoted me a price and let me know he could get me in the following day. I arrived and within 5 minutes of arriving the car was in the bay and they were working on it. It took them longer than anticipated, but they did not increase the price and worked on it until it was done. Excellent customer service from the entire team! I would highly recommend this location for any needs you might have. They are great and Benny and the Tech were amazing to work with! It was nice to be able to find a local shop to help me while I was visiting from Phoenix and had no contacts there. Great job Guys!
