I commented that I wasn't committing to it as of yet, as it was a future tow, but that didn't hinder the helpful and frankly, necessary advice I needed in this complex situation, regardless of the lengthy call and no actual scheduled tow. I was told She'd note the Quote on file, if I did decide on them in the future. A few days later, I ended up going with them based on the quality of that intial call. The next time I spoke with them, I spoke with a man who I assumed was the Tow operator who seemed a touch distant at first, no biggie, not everyone is big on the Phone, but I was pleasantly surprised by meeting him in person the day of the Tow. He, Farooq, was exceptionally pleasant and professionally skilled, assisted by Gabriel in another Truck, they both spent way more time than anyone would expect on my totalled Tow. It was tricky to say the least. But I received absolutely no complaints or gruff. Despite my own visible stress and worries in that moment as to how it would all turn out... and was still honored the quoted price. I was shocked. Its rare to have such a trustworthy experience, especially in automotives. To Juxtapose, the destination business to receive my totaled car (I won't name or review them, not worth it) were duplicitous in tone once they knew they had me, with pricing that increased on me three times. I share this, only because after all was done and the situation behind me, I couldn't help but spend the day thinking of the stark difference in authentic honesty and well meaning service between the two businesses I dealt with that day. AAA is unfortunately partnered with west hills towing for battery checks and exchanges. Apparently…read moreAAA makes the tech check the battery every time they come even though the first tech stated the battery needs a change. The first tech from west hills towing company straight up lies to customers saying the battery is either chargeable or replaceable when he doesn't have the jurisdiction to do so. So he doesn't charge my battery that apparently needs to be charged and he sets up a next day battery delivery and installation without telling me what time it is. He just said to call AAA in the afternoon which I'm glad I didn't listen to him because he scheduled it at 10am when I had something going on. The 2nd tech comes the next day and demands paperwork from AAA that the battery is under warranty when this was never discussed previous day or by AAA. He checks my battery and said it's good. I called AAA to verify and they reported from previous day that my battery report was "good and no issues" so why did the first tech said it needed to be recharged or replaced? It will forever be a mystery. The funny part is this company loves to hide its tracks because they conveniently "don't have any documentation of the tech coming out the previous day". My fault for trusting the system. I should have asked for all the documentation from the beginning. Don't even bother with this disorganized dishonest company. On top of it they charge $100 for labor. Thanks west hills towing company for wasting my time and not fixing the problem.

West Hills Towing proudly carried on the towing industry tradition of having the warmth and hospitality of a parking ticket. What made it extra impressive was this was through AAA, where you usually expect at least a little professionalism. Enter Nancy, self-appointed Supreme Court Justice of Towing Operations. Before my vehicle could apparently earn the right to be transported, I was informed with a spectacular attitude that because I didn't have my registration physically inside the vehicle, my tow was being cancelled. No problem though. I called AAA back, they sent another tow company, and amazingly, the vehicle was towed with zero drama, zero attitude, and zero need for a hostage negotiation. Being stuck needing a tow is already stressful enough. The last thing anyone needs is someone treating them like they're trying to smuggle state secrets instead of move a broken vehicle. I sincerely hope Nancy finds the inner peace she's clearly searching for. Until then: DO NOT USE WEST HILLS TOWING. If AAA assigns them, do yourself a favor and request another company immediately. Your blood pressure will thank you.
