From pa so I've eaten my fair share of pierogi. This place is amaaaaazing! Handmade and authentic traditional recipe for the classic and the dough. Then west coast is the best coast with a bunch of creative fillings. Also had the stuffed cabbage which was also great! Be careful not to over order. I ordered 6 pierogis for $11. I tried the Potato and cheese, mozzarella and pepperoni, bacon beef and cheese, a chili and cheese one, and two t-bone steak and cheese. Although they all were mouth watering fantastic... my two favorites (I can't just pick one) was the potato cheese and the t-bone and cheese pierogis. Holy Pierogi BATMAN! Son was in charge when we arrived on a chilly evening... I had never been able to make it to Big Ski's before so asked a lot of questions which were kindly answered. He dug through bags and bags of tasties letting us know which varieties he had on tap. Went for the sampler plate (this ends up being Polish Food Roulette because they all look the same fyi). One peek inside this food cart and you know it's the real deal with those lovely seasoned cast iron skillets. Well, all the "hype" gave us the impression this was a very specific, unusual, different and "family homemade recipe", "we care about you" place to eat. Our experience was not at all as expected. Kind of creepy place to go, didn't look very clean. We ordered several options/types, plus some to take home. We truly had no idea what we were eating when we got home - could not tell one hot mess from another - there was just no difference in flavor. With all the advertisements we just expected more for our $ 40. You can go to any grocery store and buy a huge frozen bag for less than half the price. This is some of the best food in Bend; certainly the best cart! I lived in Pittsburgh for years surrounded by some of the best pierogis and polish food in the USA. This rivals that food!! Okay, let me start out by saying I'm polish and have very high expectations. That being said, their pierogi sate better than my grandmothers. We used to spend days making them for holidays every year. Now we order in advance! This is the best thing to happen to a Polack in Bend! The Bender is fantastic and the staple pierogi. If you want to be really stuffed and clog those arteries I highly recommend the kielbasa. The only thing needed is a cold beer to wash it down.
