When looking for a plumbing company, I was really adamant when it came to five-star service. Big Sky Plumbing showed up and delivered just that. I had it narrowed down to them at another place but these guys were just more personable over the phone. They had a bit higher price but it wasn't enough to make me want to use the other company. William came over the following day to help me get my garbage disposal repaired. It was making a really weird noise and it was super obnoxious. I think it still worked but maybe not as good, honestly I couldn't exactly tell. It was just the noise that was driving me crazy every time I used it. Anyway, it was really nice and fix the noise really fast. It took him barely any time at all. William was nice enough to give me the service for completely free. He said technically he was supposed to charge a minimum but he was barely there and didn't feel right doing that. Big Sky Plumbing has honest guys that will treat you right. read more

I recently purchased a very old house which had been rehabbed by the previous owner. In the basement there was a tankless water heater that appeared to be in good condition. However, soon after I bought the house, the water heater broke down. Turns out the water heater had never been serviced and it had been installed incorrectly by the previous owner. Of course, the water heater broke down over the weekend. I called Big Sky Plumbing late Saturday afternoon and they told me that they would send a plumber out the following morning, to look at my unit. Ken, came out and diagnosed the situation. He gave me two options: a "BandAid option" or replace the old tankless water heater with a brand new one. The BandAid option is exactly what it sounds like: Repair what appeared to be wrong and hope that the heater didn't break down again. But since the water heater had never been serviced, Ken said there was a possibility that something else would soon go bad on the unit, requiring another service call. I called around and had three other plumbers come out. They all said the same thing... the tankless water heater was bad and needed to be replaced. I finally decided to go with Big Sky Plumbing because they offered the best price for both the installation and the annual service contract in comparison to the other plumbers I contacted. Also, Big Sky Plumbing had the highest certification level by Noritz, which was the brand of water heater I wanted to get. Since the old water heater had been improperly vented into the chimney of the house, the installation of the new water heater was an all-day job requiring Ken and another plumber, Patrick, to drill a hole through the stone foundation of the basement and then rewire and rearrange the electrical, gas line and plumbing line in my basement. At the end, they cleaned everything up, removed the old water heater and gas piping and also sealed up the spot where the previous heater vented into the chimney. At the very end, when I was paying Ken, I mentioned to him that I had a leaky kitchen faucet, and he quickly fixed that as well, no charge. (It just needed some tightening, but it was nice that Ken didn't make a fuss about that, which he could've after the very long day he had had working on this job.) Overall, very positive experience and I highly recommend Ken and Big Sky Plumbing to anyone out there looking to upgrade their water heater. read more

This business has 5 stars and there's a reason for it! They do a great job and are very professional! The staff was great who answered the calls. The plumber who came out to my house was also just as great. But the real guy I wanted to point out was the owner! Ken called me back after I had left a message wanting to talk to someone to give me straight answers about the pricing on getting my water heater fixed. I had called several companies and all of the prices were so different I couldn't gauge where the price should approximately be. He gave me a break down of the repair of the tank and what that should cost. His honesty and knowledge was key for me, so much that I decided to use them to fix my water heater even though they weren't the cheapest. BEST. EXPERIENCE. EVER.  Came home late to no hot water. I figured I would call a plumber and leave a message so I could get a call back first thing in the morning. Called very late at night and much to my surprise, they answered! Not only did they answer, but a technician who works in my area called me back almost immediately after I gave the secretary some general information.  When he called he let me know the various options of the hot water heaters I could replace mine with. He was also able to give me a solid quote over the phone, I just sent him some photos via email and he was able to match what I needed.  He came out the very next morning SUPER EARLY! He removed my old water heater and put the new one in. It was a lot faster than I thought it was going to be. The technician was clearly working very hard, not wasting any time, which I appreciated. They have some of the best customer service ever! I really did not expect such amazing service from a plumbing company... they went above and beyond what was expected. When I called they answered and the lady answered the questions to the best of her knowledge but left the technical stuff for the plumber to answer. When he called he answered all my questions and gave me a short run down of what it would cost and consist of to get my garbage disposal fixed.  He showed up and talked to me for a little and got straight to work. So my wife just received a call from Ken (?) who saw my review and wanted to get our side of the story. He listened, he apologized, and he owned it. They even offered additional assistance and, in my opinion, went above and beyond. I get that things happen and some events are uncontrollable. What I appreciate here is the follow-up and their willingness to do what's right after the fact. It's not the mistake, it's how they handled it that I appreciate. I've been in customer service management for several years now ... I know good customer service when I see it. If I could give them zero stars I would. First off, they arrived almost two hours past the end of the time range (appointment was 2:00-4:00 - they arrived at 6:00). They didn't keep me up to date on their extremely late arrival. Luckily I had nothing else planned that evening. And after messing with things for at least an hour, they realized that they brought an electric one even though I was very clear that I had a gas one. They tried to up the price by $100 over what was agreed on. They also left a leak and all the insulation they removed from the old heater as I discovered the next morning. So onto the next day. They arrived over an hour late and spent 3 hours. My price was at least adjusted to $100 below the original quote. Not that that matters so much when I came into my garage for the first time in a couple of days and found wet drywall and a big leak with water on the floor and damaged boxes. This was the very reason I decided to replace my water heater before it was necessary. Save yourself the time and money and use someone else. read more

He was on time to install our new hot water heater and even called when he was 30 minutes away. This is the first time I've had to call a plumber so I was very thankful to have someone that was so friendly and professional. Okay so if you're like me and you have children you can have "toilet problems" pretty frequently. My children mess up the toilet so frequently that it has literally become an embarrassment. The most recent endeavor was when my youngest decided to make her sock "go swimming" and clogged up my entire toilet. I called Big Sky plumbing the following morning. They got my toilet fixed in 3 (YES YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY, THREE, 3, UNO DOS TRES, III, THREE!) Minutes!! I don't know what they did but they are miracle workers because I tried plunging and using a snake and got nowhere. Did I mention they're budget friendly? I HIGHLY recommend this company! I seriously wish there was a way to give these guys 10 stars. They certainly deserve it. This was an amazing experience in every way and these guys have our business from now on! I really can't say enough good things about them. I woke up earlier in the week to no hot water. I contacted our home warranty company and they sent a plumber out that afternoon to assess the problem. They determined our water heater was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. We set an appointment for Friday afternoon to replace the old heater. They also requested payment for the $500 out of pocket expense that they estimated we would incur, Should have been a red flag. My husband took off work on Friday to be at home when they came to do the work. On Friday morning the company called and indicated that the plumber had had a family emergency and wouldn't be able to be at our home until Monday or Tuesday. While I'm certainly sympathetic to the tech and hope all is well; one installer for the entire Sacramento area - REALLY? Cold showers really suck. I got on Yelp and found Big Sky Plumbing and called them and explained the situation. This was mid-morning on Friday. I spoke with Shelly and explained our problem. We spoke for a few minutes and came to an agreement for service and she asked me when would be convenient for us. I half-jokingly said "now" certainly not expecting that they could be here until at least Saturday. Shelly's response was "let me see what I can re-arrange". They were at our home and had the new water heater installed in less than 3 hours! No muss, no fuss, just exceptional service. They even moved some pictures from our hallway to assure that they wouldn't be damaged removing the old water heater. And we had hot water by the time I got home from work! I must say Ken was the most professional plumbers I have ever met. He was neat, clean and knowledgeable. He assessed our old leaking water heater and deemed we needed a new one. He had one on his truck (no waiting) and installed it. The whole process only took a few hours since we had drained the old water heater ourselves. Ken did a marvelous job and was still neat and clean. We paid him and he left. Later that day I walked into the kitchen to find water pouring from the freeze side of our double wide refrigerator. We instantly call Ken, who came right back to our house. He conceded when pressurizing to hot water heater it could have caused a seal to break. Then, he said he would cover the damage. (amazing). We had Sears come out on Monday to fix the refrigerator. The inlet valve had to be replaced, costing $324.03. I have not met a man in the service field with such integrity. Our water heater was leaking and they came out to see if it could be fixed and it couldn't so they replaced it. It was 15 years old so we kind of expected that it would have to be replaced. I do feel the price was a little high. But I guess you get what you pay when you hire a plumber. read more

Since I'm available nights and weekends I was really impressed when they came to my house in the evening on Friday night. They repaired my hot water heater at a very great price. When I called to make an appointment, Shelly was very courteous and helpful. I think I misunderstood that a plumber would be out the same day; when I called to check to see if they were coming later that afternoon, Ken answered the phone himself. He verified that I had an appointment for the following day, but had one of his plumbers in the area and sent him (Zach) over. Zach checked our system out, discussed options, and scheduled our water heater to be replaced the following day. The previous owner had installed the water heater himself and it was not up to code. Ken's team replaced the water heater and updated all of the related plumbing/gas lines bringing us up to code. They were on time, did a great job, were highly professional and courteous. My experience with plumbers in the past has been with larger companies who may hire qualified people to do the easy jobs (toilet repair, garbage disposals, faucet dripping, etc.) but I now had a serious leak and needed a company who could find the source and fix it. So I used Yelp to find a smaller qualified plumbing company. Ken responded to my phone message within minutes, and came out himself. In 45 minutes, he identified the problem to be a roofing issue and not a plumbing problem. I call that integrity! Ken explained to me in detail what was happening, and even called a roofing company to come out to fix it. WOW! He also recommended a restoration company to clean up the water in the house. Ken was very professional and patient with all my questions. Gave advice concerning increasing water pressure, replacing water heater rods, and a whole home filter on top of the water softener system we already have (on a well). My scheduled appointment had to be moved back a day because of an emergency plumbing job that came up at another house Greg was servicing. Fortunately, my schedule was open the next day, so rescheduling was not a problem. Greg said his plumber would be at my house around 12pm - 1pm. In fact, the plumber showed up around 2pm. However, Greg did call me before then and let me know that his guy was on his way. That I appreciated. The plumber was courteous and informative and did a good job fixing the leak in my shower.
