Nothing redeeming about this restaurant. They were 20 minutes late getting us in even though we had a reservation. We were ready to order when we sat down and the entrees took 50 minutes to arrive. My burger was both cold and burned - and really, there was nothing interesting about it had it been prepared well. Restaurant was full and they seemed to have plenty of staff - they just weren't trying very hard - a lot of standing around. Guy at the table next to us ordered a beer and had to ask three times before he received it. Just a poor showing on all fronts. I recognize food service is difficult during COVID, but we are past the point where this should have been a problem and if that was their excuse, they would take the amount of customers they could handle while still delivering the quality we expect. read more

The atmosphere at Big Fire is really cool. They did a nice job with the interior. the menu options are unique. The serve, Kenny, was nice and on top of things. However, two of us ordered filet mignon as medium or medium well (at least some pink inside). Both came out well done. I sent mine back and about 15 minutes later received a new steak with the accompanying carrots and potatoes (bonus). It happens but honestly it shouldn't. I make filet mignon at home all the time and never have an issue. As my second drink I ordered the smoked old fashion. When the server brought the drink to my table, he poured it and then dumped chunk ice into it before I could say anything, and advised as he did so that they gad run out of ice globes. I wasn't happy but I drank it. if I had know ahead of time I wouldn't have taken the drink that way and would have opted for another option. When my bill came, the server advised he had he had done a payment without the option to leave a tip, so I asked him to charge me .01 cent and then I could add a tip to that. he did so, I added $22.99 to total $23.00. This morning when I looked at my credit card statement, the charge was $30.00. I tried calling during business hours (4:13pm) and the automated message said "there is no answer at the hostess stand." Not sure I'm going to go back to be honest. I hate having to babysit at a restaurant that serves food at adult prices. I would like a call response from the management team. read more

It was so nice making reservations for dinner and not having to wait in a long line (as we had all day at the parks). Bigfire is a large two-story restaurant with an open, high ceiling atmosphere. Upon entering you see the fire they use to cook food using three types of wood - a briefing our waiter gave us as first timers. The food was very good. Artichoke dip is a bit lacking in flavor but nice combo of kale, artichoke and cheese. The salmon BLTA was delicious aside from the bun which was a bit dry. Fries were good not great. I was a bit disappointed by the baked Alaska dessert. Unexceptional ice cream and the table-side igniting was underwhelming. Our server was very friendly and attentive. read more

My husband and I ended up with a random day off together and so we took the opportunity to try some place new. My husband is an annual passholder at USF/IOA so we were able to park at Citywalk for free. We tried to make a reservation, but were told it was first come/first serve until 9pm. So we showed up at 6pm on a Sunday night and were promptly seated. The cocktail list was heavy on whiskey and bourbon. I had the white old fashioned. It sounded unique and it was. I really loved it and highly recommend it. For entrees I had the beef burgundy which was delicious. I love beef burgundy and this one did not disappoint. I dug into it so fast I forgot to take a picture. My bad! My husband had the ribeye which he thought was excellent. The ribeye came with two sides and he chose pork belly mac n cheese and fries. I loved the pork belly mac n cheese and the fries were really tasty. The fries looked kind of strange, but the seasoning was on point and they were very flavorful. For dessert we had baked Alaska which was fun to order and watch, but the taste was just sort of eh... They had a make your own s'more station which is probably the way to go on dessert in the future. Finally, we found the prices to be pretty reasonable for a theme park/theme park adjacent restaurant. We thought for the price we were just getting a steak and were pleasantly surprised that it came with two sides. We were visiting from NC and came here for New Years Eve. I was super excited to try it, but was not very impressed. I ordered a filet which was served with roasted vegetable (potatoes and carrots). I do understand it was very busy on NYE, so I'm not going to base my review on the wait, it was very long despite having reservations. Anyways, once our dinner arrived I was expecting the presentation to be better for a $35 meal. It was literally steak and veggies-- nothing more, nothing less. Fine, whatever, I just wanted to eat bc at the point I was starving. The steak was mediocre, nothing special about it. I asked for it to be cooked medium, and it was. The veggies were okay, but I do believe for how much the meal costs they could have added a few more veggies to the plate, maybe even a slice of garlic bread or something would have been nice. I was pretty disappointed with my meal and left hungry. I was however impressed with the s'mores! I'm a sucker for s'mores, so was very excited about those! I didn't really care for the homemade marshmallows, but I thought it was creative and did enjoy them. The highlight of my meal was definitely the s'mores. We ordered the cheese fondue appetizer and everything served was very fresh. It all had a wood fire grilled flavor. I ordered the salmon and the same experience. Super buttery and the sides were cooked well and a good proportion. We sat almost immediately at our reservation time and got served very promptly. Had some friends in from out of town who wanted to have a little theme park fun so we decided on Universal. After the fun and games we were starving. 2 locals and 2 out of towners decided on Big Fire as none of us had been there. Prices are reasonable considering we were smack dab in the middle of a theme park. Our crew ordered the Filet Mignon, the salmon, the ribeye and I had the fried chicken dinner. The chicken was moist but I was hoping the breading would be crustier. I swapped out the potato salad for au gratin potatoes and I regret that. Cornbread was good and most of it was hijacked by my cornbread loving friend. The cole slaw was OK but served in a lettuce wrap which was a neat idea. I'm offering 4 stars as my friends all raved about their meals. Luckily they serve the salmon topping on the side because my friend hated it. I tasted it and agree. Our server said it was Tarragon. First time here ! Menus looks great & their options sound tasty ! My mom, my boyfriend & I stopped for some dinner before going to HHN - typically because it was her birthday 2 days ago. We ordered: Two orders of The bread with herb butter and peach preserve. Brussels sprouts appetizer. Goat cheese and beets. Grilled chicken sandwich with one side option. Sirloin steak with 2 sides options Ribeye steak with 2 sides options. Although the food is delicious, unfortunately I don't think I will return mainly because my waitress ALLIE was SUPER RUDE. Not to mention she never brought my beats and goat cheese out (I had to ask again) - still never brought it. She decided for me that I did not want it. Oh and my boyfriends food didn't come out correctly. From the moment we sat down she instantly gave me attitude to any question I had asked. First to say she did not ask me if I wanted anything to drink, she walked away in the middle of me trying to order my entree and when she had came back she rudely cut me off to take my moms order. I felt super rushed - not what I want to feel on vacation. Especially since I am a premier pass annual holder at universal studios where I come once a month to spend the weekend enjoying myself this is not the service I would want to get again. No thanks. We always used to go to Emirl's in this location. Since Emirl's closed in Orlando, we opted to still give it a try. We love the building. We had a waiter/bartender named Mark and he did a fantastic job. If you can, sneak into the bar side to be seated with him. The Oyster Rockefeller was out, so Mark suggested the muscles as an appetizer. The dish was amazing. We tried different drinks, one was a smoked maple old fashioned, the other was root beer flavored. Both were terrific. For dinner we had the grilled pork loin, also delicious. Finally, we had the brownie. The restaurant was busy and clean, the food was all above average, and Mark our server was fantastic. This is the newest restaurant to open in CityWalk and has a lot of promise. We started with a beverage. My mom ordered an Old Fashioned, and I had a Manhattan. My Manhattan came out on the rocks. I was pretty sure it want a Manhattan because it was sweet. Our server came over and looked before I said something, and said that's not what you ordered. He took it back even though I said it was OK and tasted good. It was a Cherry Vodka and Fig old fashioned and is the button next to the one I wanted, he made sure I got the right thing. We started off with the bread service. The bread was crunchy and had a nice flavor. The butter was unsalted and whipped. There was also a butter with herbs and peach preserve. The preserve paired well with the bread. Next we had the burrata with fried green tomatoes with pesto. This was a different presentation. I enjoyed it a lot. Fried Green Tomatoes are one of my favorite treats. The breading was thin and crunchy. It had a nice texture, and paired well with the creaminess of the burrata. I had the pork belly Mac and Cheese with Fried Chicken. This was excellent. The Mac and cheese was creamy and had large chunks of slab bacon and the cheese mix was unique and had a sharpness to it. The fried chicken was juicy and not greasy. It was plump and flavorful. The cornbread was a nice large slice that fell apart as I enjoyed it. Also, there was a nice fresh cole slaw. That was a nice balance to the Mac and cheese. My mom had the trout. It was a large section and was paired with fresh vegetables and roasted potatoes. According to my mom it was a little salty but still delicious. We ended with baked Alaska. This was a little disappointing. The cake was soggy and not from the ice cream which was melted but from melted ice it seems. The alcohol on top pooled at the bottom and did not totally burn off. Big fire was good. Ambiance is definitely there. We loved the food - my only complaint is that the temperature we ordered is not what we got. I ordered my filet medium and it came out rare. My dad ordered a burger medium and it came out medium-well/well. We didn't have a lot of time so we ate our food as it was since neither of us found it offensive but just something to be aware of. The filet had an amazing smoky flavor and the potatoes and carrots were sooooo good. Service started off excellent and teetered off but it was getting late. Overall I would go back. read more

I ordered the lamb sliders and a side of French fries while my friends ordered the ribeye. I was very impressed by the portions and found the prices to be quite reasonable. For about $40, my friends received a relatively large ribeye and two sides. I was quite envious of their food, but loved my meal equally. Their menu has gone through a love increase / before it was bearable considering their inept ability at cooking steaks as you requested, but now? No way, overpriced for what you get. Ordered an old fashioned and it was a disaster, it was remade by the GM but he was such a miserable person to have around, the drink was disappointing. The GM apologized to us for his attitude and bought me a drink- that was great and made the afternoon but I was planning on a steak. Universal City Walk has done it again! I came with my family over Thanksgiving break and we loved it. The restaurant cuisine is American Fair. The inside decor reminds me of a lake house, and is very "homey" especially due to the plaid details around the restaurant. This is a perfect escape from the masses of people swarming in the theme park. For starters we ordered the hearth oven baked bread (which is imported from Miami), artichoke oven roasted dip, and the lamb sliders. The artichoke dip was our favorite and is a big portion! They have a good wine and beer selection, and have a page of their cocktail menu dedicated to different types of old fashions. For entrees we ordered the grilled pork chops, 6oz fillet mignons, and the signature cheeseburger. Getting one of the entrees is definitely one of the best deals because it comes with two sides. The au gratin potatoes were the hit of the table! They were so cheesy and came in a mini cast iron skilled. All the food is served on a cast iron plate as well which keeps it warm throughout the meal. Our filets were cooked perfectly and had wonderful smoky flavors. The meats/fishes in the restaurant are cooked over three different types of wood. This may be my new favorite restaurant in City Walk! Everything tastes super high quality, you can tell the chefs take their time with every meal they prepare. The bread is soft and melts in your mouth. The food overall was hit and miss and with that price tag attached, really should be almost all hits, in my opinion. The artichoke dip lacked flavor but the bread was good. I had chosen a dish I saw on yelp one month ago, and they were either out of it or it had been taken off the menu- can't remember which. This is my new favorite spot at Universal. Good thing too because I got tired of always eating at The Three Broomsticks. Up until now the only place you could get a steak was NBC and the small sizes just weren't worth it. The biggest size they had was 10 oz. NY Sirloin Strip for $29.95 and at Big Fire you can get a 16 oz Cowboy Ribeye for $38. Pretty good value for me. Now, I went in here leery because as much as I love Universal, I have never been a huge fan of their food options. I'm not cheap but give me a) value for the money or b) high prices but really good food. Don't give me mediocre food for high prices. I guess that is what you get at most theme parks but I expect Universal and Disney to be better. Needless to say, I have been disappointed many times before (*cough cough* Lombard's). The atmosphere is good. It's a dimly lit interior with an upstairs and downstairs. I'm still not sure why they sat us upstairs when there was tons of empty seats on the bottom floor but oh well, next time I will make sure to tell them downstairs. The upper section is darker especially when they close the curtains. Also, ask for a window seat if it's not too busy. I usually don't pay attention to the menu but it's cool how it has a fancy burgundy plaid cover. I want to also note that, at least when I went there, the restrooms were super clean. Universal does an above average job of keeping all the restrooms clean around the park but some get more attention than others, especially on busy days. This was a busy day and the restrooms were spotless. Neat freaks will like that. Now, on to what you clicked on the review for... I got the Creekstone Cowboy Ribeye. That seems to be their signature menu item so I assumed, and correctly, that it would be their best. I got the potatoes and grilled vegetables with it. You get two sides with your steak btw. I feel like I got the best item with the best combination. Everyone should get exactly what I got because it came out great. I would have licked the plate if it was socially acceptable. The steak was flavorful and seared to perfection. A little crispy on the edges and juicy in the middle. The potatoes were nice and crispy. I had a panic attack when I got to the last one as I couldn't believe it was almost OVER. The veggies are a blend of seasonal squash, carrots, zucchini and mushrooms (not the regular mushrooms but the long ones). They're grilled and not steamed. I was impressed and frankly I liked the sides just as much as I did the steak. The only thing I would say they should improve in is their beer selection. I don't know why they can't offer at least 1/2 of the options you get at NBC. They definitely need to add more draft options. So I decided to come check this place out after I saw their delicious s'mores dessert. I also love the idea of cooking with smoke, so I was doubly enticed to come here. You walk in, and there's a beautiful view into the kitchen and all the meat and all the wood. It's really something neat to look at. For my app, I got the Hearth Oven Baked Bread (Herbed butter, whipped butter, peach preserves). The baked bread was so rustic. Super soft on the inside with an excellent crust on the outside. The herbed butter was deliciously herby and the peach preserves were the perfect amount of sweetness. You can skip the whipped butter. It was kind of boring. But get this app! For my entree, I had the 10 oz. N.Y. Sirloin Strip with sides of Crispy Smashed Potatoes and Pork Belly Mac & Cheese. This steak was "Grilled over Bigfire signature wood blend of oak, pecanwood and cherrywood." It was solid. The cook was almost perfect. It was medium-medium rare. I ordered medium rare. I wasn't complaining. The seasoning was a little lacking, because they want the smoke to come through. It definitely did. It was not too much. It was the perfect amount. I don't know how I feel about the blend of woods, but the overall smoke is there. It was a unique bite in the world of steaks that we live in now. The crispy smashed potatoes were probably the best side I've had from a restaurant in a very long time. Imagine tostones, but with potato wedges. Wedged, fried, smashed, fried again. So, so good. The mac & cheese was fine. The pork belly was cut so small and cooked so crispy, you didn't really get any umptious pork belly vibes. I would get double potatoes, if I could do it over again. I was also able to try the Beer Glazed Scallops (Bigfire Smoked Amber, fire grilled vegetables, charred hearth bread). The scallops were cooked wonderfully. They were between bay and sea scallop size. Pretty decent. The veggies were all also cooked perfectly. There were a ton of mushrooms that were cut up finely, so when all the man food was gone, and it was time to sop up the liquid with the charred bread, oh my God. The best bite I had the whole night. Not kidding. For dessert, I got the Tableside S'mores (Marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate, peanut butter cups for two). They set a flame before you and give you a lazy Susan of s'mores supplies. There are normal and housemade marshmallows, classic Hershey bars, and three Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. They give you a little fork and let you have fun. What a fun dessert. I liked it a lot here. I'll probably go back and forth between here and the Cowfish at City Walk from now on, and that's saying a lot. read more

We had no notice from local food critics or the media; and, the host suggested it was due to their "softer" approach to opening. Despite that, the place was jammed full of patrons; and, we asked if we could take a seat at the bar, which we did. We only wanted cocktails and appetizers; and, I had the Smoked Smoked Manhattan; and, my wife had the Rosemary Salty Dog. Our server, Xavier, was pulling double-duty as bartender and server; and he did an exceptional job on the drinks, service; and, taking care of the brisk bar business. The cocktails were incredible; and, the presentation of the Smoked Smoked Manhattan was one to rival high-end steak houses in the area. For appetizers, we chose the excellent Wood Charred Brussels Sprouts and the Wood Oven Dip. Both were excellent. Exceptional service was rewarded with a 40% tip, Xavier was the best! read more

We were pretty excited to eat here! We had made dinner reservations for 7pm...we were seated pretty quickly after arriving. The atmosphere was great. The background music tasteful and upbeat. Our waiter was not very attentive as we waited for awhile to be treated after seated. We ordered the Bourbon Foundue for an appetizer, which was AMAZING! We were pretty excited to see what was to come after our appetizer! Burger - Not worth the money! We were really looking forward to a smoky delicacy of delight, but that is NOT what it was. It was a plain tasting burger for not so plain price! Ribeye - sooooooo disappointed. There was absolutely no flavor!! Not even a smoky, off-the-grill flavor! This Ribeye had soooooo much potential...I know the owner of this restaurant would be PISSED if they knew this type of steak was leaving their kitchen! I could see Ramsey throwing it on the floor and cussing up a storm! I figured this would be the best option at CityWalk for a nice birthday dinner and I was right. Some of the other restaurants there are a bit more casual and nothing special.. BigFire was still approachable, it wasn't super fancy, but it had a nice vibe. It also seemed like something different! I appreciated the wide variety of items, there was something for everyone. Certainly they are known for their steaks, but they also had seafood, burgers, pasta, etc. Its a bit more on the pricy side, but it's worth it (not like Margaritaville for example where it's expensive because of the name and because it's touristy). Big portions too! We had made a reservation weeks ago and the day before we had to up the reservation by 2 people and it wasn't a problem. They really did take care of our party of 14, the server was very nice and despite having to take many orders and handle separate checks the pacing was great. FYI-They allowed us to bring in our own birthday cake. They wouldn't hold it for us or bring it out, but they did provide plates so our party could enjoy it. Definitely recommmend! read more

I'm not going to get into food specifics but all the food we had was good. The only issue was the salt. A few of the appetizers and entrees had way to much salt. Maybe they had new sue chefs but its definitely something I'll bring up to the server next time we dine in. Wine list was subpar but acceptable. read more

This place is huge! Great choice for a date night but they don't have reservations between the hours of 6-8p. They keep it open for walk-in's so there's no need to make a reservation. That's kind of a good and bad thing but I onLy had 2 people in my party and we were seated very quickly. Food is pretty good! I recommend the Artichoke Dip for sure but save room for dessert. Chosen by our friends and likely the best place at Citywalk. The food was extremely mediocre, steak was poorly cut, overcooked and over priced. The noise level was surprisingly OK despite the restaurant being full. Pablo ordered a shrimp dish and our group kept asking "really", it was a mashup of something, not sure what. The Baked Alaska was sensational and worth going just for that. All in all save your hard earned money and eat outside of Citywalk. read more

Great food with excellent service. Our waiter Kyle did an excellent job highlighting several menu options and answering our questions. We settled on the Wood Oven Dip as an appetizer for our party of four. Great choice but could of included a little more bread as we ran out of bread before we ran out of dip. For our entrees we had 2 Filet Mignon's, Bigfire Cheeseburger and Cauliflower Steak. All were nice size portions and prepared exactly as we ordered them. The cooking of the steaks and burger over their signature wood embers made this meal incredibly favorable. Our meals were served with a nice size portion of grilled vegetables (I believe over the same embers) and crispy smashed potatoes (which didn't seemed to be smashed but still delicious). Overall a great choice for our family and we would highly recommend for others visiting the parks looking for a nice meal with their family. read more

We are Universal junkies, so we've​ been waiting for Big Fire! We got super lucky, only waited about 40 mins which​ I thought was great considering the "new open". At the time, they had only been opened for 2 weeks and we had a truly pleasant​ lunch. Now I understand they will work through their quirks​ so that's​ why I gave 4 stars. We started with the Wood Oven Dip, super gooey and creamy. Chunks of artichoke and gruyere cheese, which was so delicious​. One thing I will point out is the bread, it was good but not enough. I would advise either to consider cutting in smaller pieces or more bread (they were big chunks and only 4 as seen in photo). If we had 4 people that would be one bread per person and the waitress advised me that if I wanted more it would be a charge.. not cool. For lunch,​ I had the BigFire Cheeseburger, surprisingly good for a plain burger. Added jalapeno bacon, it was so YUMMY! Not spicy at all and thick. Great addition. For my side, I got the pork belly mac and cheese. Needed a little salt, but I can understand from the pork belly it may have been a little too salty for some (I still added). Really creamy. Also, a side of crispy smashed potatoes. Not the normal smashed potatoes I've​ had before but okay, it was missing something, just tasted bland. Was not a fan but ill for sure try it again. Also,​ IMO I think the price ($5) for a side item was a little expensive for the quantity​... but either way, it was a good lunch and looking forward to updating​ my review! read more

This is a brand new place inside City Walk replacing the old Emerils restaurant. I had never been to that one before but the inside and layout of this place is quite nice. It has a casual yet upscale feel. Kind of like a cabin in the woods and a fancy lodge had a baby. There's no dress code so you can be casual coming from the parks or dressed up for a date. We walked right in around 5ish (they open at 4pm) said our party was of 2 and we were walked to a table right away. They sat us upstairs along a narrow pathway where obviously all the smaller 2 seater tables were, but we liked that as we were tucked away and had more privacy and it was quieter. But that privacy didn't mean our service was lacking. Our server Hercules was very kind and attentive but not TOO attentive (aka annoying) which we appreciated. Me and the boyfriend each had 1 cocktail (about $13 each) before we ordered food and they came out quickly. Maybe a little too quickly as they were very weak. Oh well, we came for the food anyways. I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken which came with pork belly Mac n cheese, cole slaw and sweet cornbread. All decent portions and yes fried chicken... but DAMN! It was literally the best fried chicken I've had. It was crispy on the outside but not greasy and oily! The thicker parts of the breast were a little bit dry but overall it was easy to peel off the bone and was SO good! The Mac n cheese... I'm a Mac n cheese snob. I had high hopes but it was just okay. The cole slaw was basic but light and refreshing to pair with the chicken and cornbread - and the cornbread was the sweet kind but not overly sweet and was slightly on the dry side. Like each bite I took some water with it to help it down. The boyfriend had the Lamb chops with mixed veggies and potatoes au gratin. He said he could taste the smokiness of the veggies and the lamb. The lamb was very moist and tender and fell off the bone and the he completely finished the sides. Check out the menu before you go to prepare yourself for the prices ($20-$40 per plate) but I'd say go try it out! We love trying the new places and this was a good place with good food! read more
