I worked in the salvage auction industry for 10 years at IAA in charge of the top 10% of the companies buyers and in all my experience I have never seen a company treat it's clients so poorly with such a bold face as Bill Jacobs BMW. The blatant disregard for the health, safety and welfare of its clients is something I have not yet seen from any automotive company I've ever worked with. I will NEVER be purchasing a BMW or vehicle from any Bill Jacobs after experience. BMW currently has a recall out for a pvc valve heater issue that has been causing fires in rare cases. Unfortunately, I was one of those rare cases and car literally catches on FIRE and LOCKS up my breaks as I am driving away from my home. Having attended the Romeoville Fire Academy I jumped out of the vehicle with of course no PPE risking my safety to put out the fire, completely unaware that this is a known issue. After speaking with Moe I explaining that I have 3 cameras around my house that recorded the whole incident and have documentation in form of pictures and video, however, NO EFFORT was made to even review the documentation. After being called by 3 different names none of which were my own, I contacted corporate to escalate the matter, however AGAIN no attempts were made to review the evidence. What could have happened to me if the breaks spontaneously locked up while on the expressway? Or I hadn't put out the fire myself? Admired BMW always but NEVER buying BMW again. read more

A high end dealership, charging handsomely for service is now charging 3% for using a credit card. Debit, cash or Check. We are going backwards for the sake of greed. The average service bill at a bmw dealership is in the hundreds of dollars, unlike a restaurant who operate on thin margins and low dollars. The fact they feel the pinch so bad to take away credit card convenience from the customer to save 3% while generally hosing customers daily is absolutely appalling. Absolutely wonderful experience!!! No "smarmy or shady" car sales business at this location. From my first call with Jack Hauger (salesman) to trying to get the deal I WANTED with the Sales Manager, Rob Trax my experience could not have been any better. Not only did Jack and Rob work tirelessly to make the deal I WANTED TO WORK, they went well above and beyond with every step, and did so with the utmost professionalism. No pressure tactics at all. Just as we were wrapping up the deal, we discovered my wife needed to also sign the title of the car I was trading in. I was excited to get the car I wanted, so I told them I would drive back home and bring my wife back... about 25 minute drive each way. Inconvenienced by MY OWN lack of foresight, Jack said, "Let's see if there are other options..." and went to speak with Rob Trax. When Jack came back to our house for my wife to sign, I realized I left my I-Pass and an item on the keychain I gave him for my old car that had VERY sentimental and important meanings to me. Once again, JACK HAUGER TO THE RESCUE!!! He had to go back to the office anyways, and offered to come back to our house (again!) after work to drop those items off, which he did, after 8pm! I recently purchased a used Audi S5 convertible from this dealership. At first everything seemed fine. I noticed at the dealership that the front camera was blurry. I thought it was just dirty so I didn't think anything of it. Once I got home, upon further inspection I noticed the camera lens was cracked. I reached back out and asked if they would repair this item. They refused. I replied that they sold this vehicle that they knew to have a defect. They replied that when they have off brand vehicles that come in, they check for safety and functionality. "We have not the internal means to check an Audi as they do a BMW. This all being said, a crack like this can be many times overlooked and it is not a direct threat to safety and drivability." I'm not sure of their reconditioning standards when this misses their notice. I know wonder if they missed this issue, is the rest of the vehicle safe? I have attached pictures of what they feel is not a safety issue and that the overlooked. I drove over 2 hours to purchase this vehicle and this experience showed me that this was a mistake on my part. If you are looking for a dealership that is meticulous about used vehicles and their condition, takes responsibility for their vehicles, and wants to treat their customers the right way, please avoid this dealership. I hate to write this review because my total experience with BMW was better than any other car ive ever purchased buuuuuuut. So from the moment I ordered my vehicle to the time I took possession my experience for the last 3 years has been overall amazing until now it's time to bring the lease back. Typically I'll sell my vehicle back to a dealership after my lease is up (for those that didn't know this is a possibility ive done it 3 times so far). My career and financial situation is different than it was 3 years ago so unfortunately I will be purchasing a cheaper used car but I did have plans to purchase an x6 down the line with cash. I tried to sell my bmw back because you never want to pay the steep end of lease cost if you can avoid it and before even seeing me or making an appointment to come in with the car they said to me without skipping a beat or looking up my vehicle that it was worth $8,000 less than what a different dealership quoted me! Basically they didn't want to waste their time on a 3 year customer and possibly get a good deal on a used car they can turn around and sell for profit. Im very sad to say I wont be selling my lease back to this dealership and when it comes time to purchase my next car it will be from the guys over at Chicago motor cars! read more

This was the best car buying experience we have ever had. Since we were from out of state, we notified BMW that we would be flying in and coming Monday morning to finalize the car deal. Once we arrived, they had the car ready for us and all documents were pre filled out to expedite the sale. Our sales men were super nice and assisted us with every stage of the process. It was a pretty crowded dealership, but I can see why, do to their superb customer service and variety of cars. Wanted to provide an update that my dislike for this dealership continues! While cleaning the wheels the day after we bought the vehicle, I noticed grooves in both rear brake rotors. I took the vehicle to another local BMW dealer and 3 local independent shops. They all told me the dealer obviously "pad slapped" the rear brakes, meaning they installed new pads on bad rotors to save money. They all said the dealer should have replaced both rear rotors, pads and sensor. After going back and forth with the dealer, sending pictures, speaking with Mike Alder, the GM, they said they would not do anything. I found out that it would cost them less than $1k to make things right, and the brakes safe. He offered no resolution at all. I have filed a few formal complaints with BMW customer relations, for what it's worth. In the meantime, the vehicle sits in our garage because my fiancé is reluctant to drive it with unsafe brakes and we shouldn't have to pay $2000+ for brakes for a $60k+ certified vehicle we just purchased two weeks ago The vehicle was actually an early birthday gift for her. There's been a total of about 90 miles put on it and we voted for more than two weeks. The drive home after we purchased a vehicle accounts for 34 of those 90 miles. The remaining mileage was from me taking the vehicle to another BMW dealership and three local shops for inspection. The dealership obviously cares more about profit than the satisfaction and safety of a good customer. We purchased an Audi Q5 from the Bill Jacobs jaguar Land Rover dealership a couple years years ago. We are officially finished with Bill Jacobs. Absolutely the WORST car buying experience that I've EVER experienced. I don't even know where to start... Client Advisor: DAVID REYNOSO I don't believe in "bad talking" any person, but I will state these facts: This guy was absolutely unpleasant our entire interaction. He was patronizing and incompetent in many degrees.1) I called to enquire about a vehicle that he assured me was available. I expressed my interest in the car, and he told me that he was busy and would call me back to take my deposit to hold the car. HOURS later he calls me back to take my deposit, only to call back again to tell me that the car was sold. 2) After finding another vehicle (he was no help in explaining vehicle features), I came to test drive the car. David was not there, but his manager Robert Trax was. I gave him a copy of my DL to dive the vehicle, and left with the intention to purchase the car (I had external financing, so we had to wait for the check to be delivered to the dealership). Things got progressively worse... 3) Once the check was delivered, I contacted David to confirm the check was there, his immediate response was " WHAT KIND OF CHECK IS IT?! IS THE CHECK FILLED OUT PROPERLY"...what?! his tone was rigid and extremely off-putting! Instead of him saying "okay, sure, thanks for calling, I will go to verify that the check was received and call you back with next steps" apparently, he thought the latter was less appropriate. 4) When I was able to finally pick up my car, I felt extremely unwelcomed. When signing the paperwork, I asked David about a OFAC document that I needed to give my SSN and DOB, he immediately got upset with the question and fired off "WHAT?! YOU JUST NEED TO SIGN IT, YOU HAVE TO SIGN IT ANYWAY!"... again, what!? All I was looking for was an explanation about the document I was signing. I did NOT need his emotionally geared feedback simply because he was not educated on what the document was. 5) After I signed the paperwork with David, I was sent upstairs to meet the finance manager Aldijana (more on her later). When I returned from her office and was all set to leave, David did not greet me, nor did he escort me out. I stood there for about 5 minutes looking for someone to let me out of the building with my car. Another CUSTOMER assisted me in opening up the garage to exit the building. After starting the vehicle to leave, David shows up to my window and hands me the vehicle's license plate, and walks away. Such a terrible, and demeaning experience. Finance Manager: ALDIJANA HODZIC Things started off well. I thought that things were finally going to turn around. However, the moment I declined the extended warranty coverage for my car, her entire demeanor changed. She became condescending and insistent. She kept pushing the importance of getting a warranty, and how I will not be able to later change my mind, and how I can void my CPO, etc., etc. She spoke to me as if I did not understand how things worked--EXTREMELY frustrating. My paperwork was screwed up, and she had to change my document twice. When I ready to leave, I had to ask her for the second key to my car, and she insisted that she did not have it (she did). I had to ask for the owners manual for the car, again, she insisted that she did not have it. My ENTIRE experience was a complete nightmare! The ONLY pleasant interaction that I had at Bill Jacobs, was with my BMW genius, NIC CORTELLINI. He was the only person that made me feel like he wanted me there, and was extremely cordial and communicative. He was respectful, and just a good human being. I would recommend that if you are considering buying a vehicle from these people, beware. If you're a POC, BEWARE (is all I'll say). There are many other customer-centric BMW dealerships, such as KNAUZ, or NORTHFIELD BMW, that would give you a higher quality service experience and actually treat you the way any respectable human being should be treated. read more

Buying a car is not typically my idea of fun. It's a large purchase that comes with inherit stressors. When my nearly 10 year old X3 needed to go out to pasture, I intentional sought out a dealership with a large inventory of new cars considering the pandemic, solid ratings from a customer service perspective but also a decent services department in case I decided to repair my old X3. Harry demonstrated the qualities you want to see from a sales associate, he provided insight into my options but also listened to what I wanted and needed. He was also nice and respectful - something that I've found to be undervalued in this business after 30 years periodic of car buying. I will always give props to associates who speak to women like they would men and don't over emphasize things like how "pretty" a car is, the color - the shiny things. I like a nice car as much as the next person but I'll take an adult conversation any day and Harry made that happen. I bought my car from them in 2020. The worst customer service. Can't get anyone to answer the phone or return a call- unless of course you are BUYING a car. Otherwise -it's an endless loop of transfers, voicemails, no return calls, etc. No one seems to know who works where or when anyone is in the office. The front desk is a bunch of robotic women who will transfer you 5 or 6 times for the same request. Managers don't return calls either. Just treat you like shit after the sale.
