If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Every time I visit ACE Hardware in Concord, Clayton Road, I receive excellent help. Many hardware stores employees ignore women. I have had that experience in many times. Not when I go to this ACE store. There is an ACE store nearer me, but I do not receive the service I get at the Clayton Road store. Today, I received excellent customer service and assistance. I went to ACE as my 91 year old mother wanted to paint her bathroom the color of her towels...yes a bit strange, but she is 91...what the heck. I brought down a wash cloth to match the color. KK came to my rescue! She could not match the color using the machine due to the material. She took the time to look at many samples to help match the color. She informed me that I could purchase a small sample of paint in case this color did not pan out. KK asked if I needed any painting materials besides the paint and helped me find just the right products. When I mentioned I needed to go to the Plumbing department, she told me what aisle to go to and she would bring my paint to me when it was done mixing. But wait there is more...KK told me to have Ron help me. She called him and told him I was on my way. What excellent customer service!!!! KK told me to ask for her when I returned to purchase a gallon of the matching paint or to go to plan B. Ron met met me and I tried to explain my predicament. I am totally ignorant when it comes to plumbing or anything that requires a screwdriver. Ron was so patient with me. He very gently as asked if I had the name of the tub handle and faucet (35 years old) I wanted to replace. Of course, I did not have any name and I doubt the wash cloth would help. Ron asked if I took a photo. Me think of that before I went to the hardware store...now I understand why other hardware store employees ran the other way when they saw me. :) He said he could probably identify what I needed if he could see a photo. I went back to ACE that afternoon with photo in hand and another paint request for KK. Ron greeted me with a big smile (yes he was wearing a mask, but you can tell if people are smiling). He was never condescending, which I have experienced before...women understand this... Ron immediately identified the handle and pointed to the replacement. However, it was not in the brushed nickel I wanted. Bummer! But, boy was I impressed! Thank you Ron. Back to the paint. Mom decided the matching paint to towels was too bright and wanted the lightest color on the paint strip. So, I went back to ACE and asked for KK. She showed me the color panel and I choose the lightest color. Mom was very pleased (whew!). I can't thank KK and Ron enough. They not only made me feel welcome, but bent over backwards to help me. I had great reception when I used my home FM radio when I lived in Concord. When I moved to Fairfield the reception was lost. Off and on I would try to get reception with no luck. I used a connection to my Cable with no result. I tried to tap off my TV Antennae when I dropped my Cable service. I looked for a way to locate an FM Dipole antenna for my Radio. Couldnt find one anywhere, until I went to Bills ACE Hardware back in Concord! Looked and Looked there as well, with no luck at first! Then I found Katie who helped me find a catalog entry for a Dipole FM Antenna!, Great they had one in Stock and I could order with delivery later in the Week. I paid for the item and left my phone number. When it came in they called and left a message unfortunately I Must have deleted the message in error I was sick for a few days after that, but i still had the number and made arrangements to pick it up today! When I got home it took about 2 miutes to hook up and my FM reception was restored!!! i have been a long time customer of this store.. meet Louie the paint guy and nice fella forgot his name in the plumbing... always when i get them i get a wonderful pleasant resolved service.. i think maturity and professinalism makes the store visit satusfying. Last time visit the store paint section meet the new guy wearing facial hair ...khaky and not sure why his being jst an himself .An Asshole. was asking a simple sticker to remember the 3 gallons i ordered gave an attitude and told me he cannot. Note the customer before he put the sticker for a pint of paint. negative point. Came back yesterday with a plumbing got a picture to make it easy to much the items i need. came the Fat lady without even trying to look at the pictures of the items i need. again attitude ... i need to bring the old items i need. to the management if the employess are not trained regarding the items sold by the store at least customer service is the best thing . OK so this is my 2nd bad experience I've had with Deborah I think her name is I was in the store yesterday trying to buy some more paint from the remodel of my kitchen she seemed like she didn't have any time for me and when I did finally get her attention It felt like she really didn't want to help me at all like me being there was a strain on her day that's not customer service customer service is taken care of me helping me get what I need now make me feel like I shouldn't be here If I could give me the one Star I would so disappointed thought this What's the helpful place I am so disappointed I will not be returning to the store you can thank your employee in the paint department read more

I sent an e-mail to the owner of Bill's Ace Hardware, Bill Wygal. Mr Wygal got back to me the very next day stating he would look into it as soon as possible. After several e-mails he was able to talk to everyone at that store and get back with me on June 4th. It was obvious to me that the owner took my situation seriously and spent some time looking into the matter. Mr Wygal owns four Ace Hardware stores but he was still able to look into complaint and deal with it in a professional manner. With out going into specific details I feel he did a good job looking into the matter and took appropriate action. I am pleased with his response and he will keep me as a loyal customer. read more

Hate coming to this Bills ace, takes forever to make a key, to even talk to one of the employees to ask for help. Most employees there just walk pass you without asking if you need assistance. Trying to call this place is a hassle, they always leave me on hold more than 5 minutes. You walk up to the cashiers to get rung up and there facing away from the counter ignoring the customers. Had a terrible experience with one of the cashiers working there named Monica, she's incredibly rude she has a attitude talking to customers rolls her eyes and just seems like she doesn't want to help. The lines for the registers are always backed up takes forever to get your stuff and leave. read more

I understand that were all supposed to be following a social distancing rule and wear masks and some places have lines prior to entering the store. But seeing a line of 20+ people 2 feet apart at a HARDWARE STORE is ridiculous. Not a single thing ace is doing in part of the coronavirus makes sense. It only makes a bigger inconvenience to someone who came from an active jobsite and who is on the clock. Will no longer be shopping at this location. If they're making folks wait 25 MINUTES TO ENTER AND SHOP FOR TOOLS, I sincerely hope this location is forced to close down. Zero operations manager skills. read more

I went into Bill's Ace hardware store on Clayton Road in Concord today to buy some items for the house. I needed some new valves and hoses for the washing machine connection. No big deal, but I forgot to bring the old parts for comparison. So I did what I usually do when I go there. I went straight to Katie. She has been there for years and has NEVER failed me!! Very good customer service. I was inside the store looking for navy blue umbrella, however they didn't have it in the store. Bill saw that I was a little disappointed, and he offer to order it online. He also offered free delivery to my house. Fantastic! I'll always order from you guys. So I was getting into my vehicle as I heard Bill yelling at a young man telling him he's not selling him the water jug because he owns the store and the guy was stealing from him which he was not stealing from him Bill said he was calling the police because the guy had a gun we've never seen no guns he's crazy he drove across the parking lot like a bat out of hell almost hitting the young man. I had a difficult problem to fix. I had a very old can of semi gloss that I needed matched in latex flat. The can was nearly impossible to open. However, Amanda in the paint department persisted and after a bit of help from a co-worker got the match made and ready! It took about 30 minutes total - all for a $29 can of wall paint. She even helped me figure out the best way to get the rest of the old paint home. Thank you Amanda and thank you Bill's Ace Hardware. read more

Love this store it is local easy to find what I need and the radio's they use makes all of their employees an expert. It is nice to walk into a hardware store and have someone ask if you need help. In Home Depot and Lowes they clerks see you looking for help and run away it would be funny if it wasn't true. I really like the fact I can run in get what I need and get out no long lines and always someone who can help when needed. read more

I love this store. The staff are very eager to help you find what you are looking for. I recently had a coupon for 50 per cent off Propane. Normally I have to go around to the back and have our tanks filled. I think they must have known that I was in a hurry. They exchanged all 5 of my tanks with the pre filled ones out front at half price!. That saved me about 50 bucks read more
