    Hamburger and chili fries

First time, for a "Drive up" on the border of El Monte in Baldwin Park, great customer service. Very welcoming, also, impressed with the other menu items, Pastrami, Fish plate., etc, just don't forget cash only. Prices are very reasonable. It's like Home made, fries are fresh stay longer, unlike the commercial burger joints, that dries up when you drive off.

Fries are majorly under-seasoned. Also taste like it's been sitting for a while and then refried. Very crispy but not creamy at all, if you're into that texture. Burger is pretty solid. They don't skimp on sauce but not overly saucy either. Pretty average neighborhood burger place. A few fyis: This place is cash only. Outside seating area. No restroom even for customers. No refills on drinks.

This place is a landmark in El Monte. I remember when I was in middle school walking to Bill's after school with my friends to grab some burgers. Today when I got off work I was pretty hungry, but I was craving a burger so I decided to stop by and grab something to eat to take home. It had been a while since I ate at Bill's so I decided to stop and grab me something. The burgers here are really good there's no doubt about that. I do feel like they are a little pricey though. They also serve breakfast I notice lots of people go there for their breakfast. I have never tried it, but it must be good. I ordered a double cheeseburger meal with extra cheese, and a side of onion rings and that came out to $20. They also charge you $.50 per ranch if you ask for one. I asked for two and the lady charged me $1.20 I'm guessing the $.20 was for tax. Everything tasted delicious. The fries we're perfectly done. They had a nice crunch on them and the onion rings had a great batter on them. They were well seasoned. They also accept phone orders in case you're in a hurry. they also have indoor and outdoor seating. But most importantly, don't forget that they only accept cash, no credit cards.

This spot is a staple in Monte. Every city has their burger joint and I feel like this is the place here. It's been here for as long as I can remember and the chefs been at it for the time running. It's cash only but they have an atm outside. You can sit inside or outside. It's a little pricey but what isn't these days. The ONLY thing that gets me is it says it opens at 7am but that NEVER happens. The service is great once they're open though.

Called in my order and it was ready when I got there, which I appreciate. I ordered a big cheeseburger for my daughter. I didn't get a bite, but she basically inhaled the whole thing, so I'm gonna assume it did its job. I ordered a breakfast burrito with no potatoes, which in hindsight was 100% my fault. What I picked up was basically a flour tortilla taco with a couple dried pieces of bacon and a little cheddar rattling around inside. Not great. Pretty sure this burrito only makes sense with hash browns or potatoes holding it together. Lesson learned. Prices were fair, staff was genuinely nice, and luckily the burrito was under $10--so no real damage done. Was I disappointed? Yeah. Was I shocked? Not at all. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but if I needed a burger, was nearby, and everything else was closed, I'd have no problem stopping in. Sometimes you just need a burger spot, and this is one of those.

I, for one, immediately noticed the huge mural that heralds our Greatest Laker Ever the moment I pulled offve Live Oak into the small lot that abuts Fantastic. Digging further, I discovered that the "Eat Fantastic" quintet of restaurants that dot the greater LA metropolitan area ARE IN FACT a modernized spinoff of the "Cafe Fantastic" chain that Gen Xers like me fondly recall. Sheeeeeeeeeiiit. True story- All throughout my time at San Pedro High, my best friend Mick and I usta demolish their Combo Burger Platter (burger/fries AND onion rings, side salad and drink) for only $3.65. 40yr flashback over, your favorite Yelp correspondent went for Fantastic's pastrami sandwich combo. And while it doesn't come with a quintet of items guaranteed to fillya up- I can vouch that the pastrami is legit!!! Well seasoned, peppered, served steaming hot aboard a French roll gently slicked with mustard. I've had my share of fabulous pastrami in my time- Katz Deli in NY, Brent's Deli in Northridge and more locally and if you're in a severe 'strami fix...then Togo's #9 will do ya, too. This doesn't compete at those lofty levels, but for its price I'll order this eight days a week over the razor-thin pastrami dispensed by the overrated The Hat chain of pastrami-phixated locales! While this was a takeout order, I can attest that all of my.prior dealings w/ the Eat Fantastic staff has been just fine. Courteous and swift service.

I was driving home to Phoenix on the 10, and saw this one right off the freeway. I stopped inside and placed my order for a chili cheese fries with onions, well done. They are always fantastic. This particular Tommy's may have given me the largest portion of fries I have ever seen. The container they came in was legit filled to the top, like a huge brick full of chili cheese fries. The fries were perfectly crisp and well done, and they piled so much chili and cheese on these things, I'm surprised I didn't get any on my shirt. So freaking delicious! The burger was pretty good overall. It was a little smaller than I expected, and to be honest the chili itself wasn't super flavorful. Was it the best chili cheeseburger I've ever had? Not really. But it wasn't bad either. It satisfied the craving and that's sometimes all you're looking for. Overall, nothing particularly memorable, but I could definitely see myself grabbing one again after a late night out when I'm craving something greasy and comforting.
