Needed something for dinner and the photos here looked good. It was a good choice. When you walk in it's nothing fancy but it's inviting. I had the portlander burger and Bobbie had the black and blue burger. My burger had ham and bacon and a fried egg. Bobbies had really good blue cheese and a spicy Buffalo sauce. I got sweet potato fries and she got regular fries. Both fries were perfect as was Bobbies burger. The only negative was my fried egg. The only reason to put an egg on a burger is so you can cut the burger in half and have that yummy egg yolk run down the burger and add flavor and umami to the burger. My egg was not only a hard yolk but it was broken as well. Other then that it was great. Our waiter was fantastic and very attractive. At first we hesitated due to the atmosphere but are we glad we stayed! The staff were super friendly and assisted in recommendations. As far as the food??? Honestly one of if not THE BEST burger we've ever had out! The Green Chili Bacon burger was perfection! Loved how it wasn't chopped pieces of green chili peppers but actual pieces of pepper! We camp in Prescott often and love the chill vibes so this hit the spot! Not the posh place that many want to experience but that's great for us since we prefer the mom and pop feel of places exactly like this! And... the prices are so reasonable! Friendly, good service, good food. I had the Cobb- it's not a Cobb, but it's a good salad. It's a SW chopped version, and quite tasty. Partner had a good looking burger and onion rings. With our favorite places full-up we decided to try Bill's and it didn't go well...Service was slow, but she was trying, I'll give her credit for that. The food took forever and when it arrived my mates breakfast was sizzling hot, however, my biscuits and gravy were stone-cold. When the gal finally made her rounds I sent them back for a re-fire. Came back nice and hot, however, they were nasty. The flour wasn't cooked-out, and where was the sausage, let alone any flavor My mate's scramble was sorta-kinda ok. We were recently in Monrovia CA and JR's had huge breakfast burritos for $10, Bill's is $15...in Prescott, huh? If your going to charge those kinds of prices your food has to be at least decent. Gaelan was our server and was very attentive and also would stop by the table in a timely fashion to check on us to see if we needed anything. We had gone to lunch here on 3/29. I didn't asked our waitresses name (which I regret) but she was soooooo wonderful. Our first time in Prescott and Bills grill was just down the road from us so we decided to stop in. Our waitress was so helped and kind. We sat at a two top by the window. She made us feel like family. Very attentive, fast, and efficient. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the melt. (Started with the queso. Which you could skip) The food is what you expect. Great burger! However--service was crazy slow! We were greeted by our waitress when we walked in, but it took over 20 minutes to get served two soft drinks, another 30 minutes before she took our order, and another 30 minutes to get two burgers. We watched other people sit at tables and leave after being ignored, but at some point, the super-poor service became funny to us. I'm glad we stayed because the burger was good and the atmosphere was laid back. But, don't come here if you are in a hurry. read more

*This review is my opinion based on the food we received. I tried every item we ordered. We were in the area just for the day and always try for small places rather than chain restaurants. The photos online looked cute and the ratings were decent, so we decided to try. When we entered, the sign said "seat yourself" but most tables looked taken or just vacated (they were busy), so we asked the woman at the front where would be best and she answered, clearly irritated, "wherever you want". My spouse said as an aside to me "Welcome to Prescott" in reference to the attitude. Still, we had high hopes. It was crowded, which is usually a good sign. Or, it is in a larger town anyway. The large porch outside has a lot of seating and there is a small inside room as well. We went to a table near the window on the porch area and the irritated woman brought us menus. Menus were clean and the selection of items was decent. Prices were mostly a la carte though, which was why my kids burger was $17 (!!!) and the fries were an additional $3.50. The waitperson who came to the table to take our order was young and very kind. Thank you for the amazing service by her! We ordered the fish and chips, Bill's Nachos with pulled pork, and the BBQ bacon burger with a side of fries, plus an iced tea ($3.50) a coke ($3.50) and water. Everything was served in a basket on food-safe paper. Starting off with what was right- the BBQ bacon burger was DELICIOUS. Fries as well. Perfectly cooked meat and just the right amount of sauce plus bacon. Very expensive but it was tasty. Fries were nicely crispy and hot. Next, the not so good- the other two items. The fish and chips was served piping hot, so that was plus. Three large chunks of fried fish over fries. However, the fish inside each of the fried pieces was negligible and they were mostly soggy batter on the inside. Not good. Batter didn't have much flavor or spice so it was just a bunch of mush. Fries were good. Cole slaw was tasty and balance good. Might have just been an off day for the fish but the lack of much actual fish inside was frustrating. Moving on to the nachos, these are the one item I would say was absolutely awful from start to finish. They looked good when set on the table but I then realized the guacamole on top looked odd. When I tried it, it tasted off, like jarred. I then grabbed a chip to gather up some of the pulled pork and "chipotle" cheese sauce and when I bit into it, it was chewy and cold. Then, I realized the entire plate of nachos was cold. The chips tasted old and stale, but were greasy as though they'd been cooked on site...yet were somehow cold. CHEWY CHIPS. Not two words that should go together. The cheese sauce was gross and cold, as though someone had taken a no name brand can out of the refrigerator and plopped on. Horrible taste. The pulled pork was also cold, although the meat tasted decent but maybe a bit old, like it was leftovers from the fridge. Of all things, nachos should be served piping hot and fresh, and these were worse than any I've ever eaten. They were so bad that I instead ate the fries the rest of my family had rather than continue eating the nachos. CHEWY COLD NACHOS. Ugh. A plus- restroom was clean and very cute. It was over $54 for these three small meals. Way too much money for two of three meals to be bad food and one of the three to be almost inedible. It's not a dining place we plan to return to, although if we ever come back, we'll get the burger because that was absolutely delectable. read more

I had the Smash burger, cooked medium-well, and the onion straws; she had the fish and chips -- and the onion straws. Mmmmmm. My burger was delicious. The sauce put on it was delicious, too. Her fish and chips disappeared, equally as appetizing... but I didn't get a bite of hers... We had our puppy with us so we ate in my truck. Puppy enjoyed burger and fish, too. It's a nice place, clean and tidy. Anyplace where you can find clean corners of the floor is likely to be a great place to eat. Yanno? Nice people, too. Easy to work with. Breakfast, the most important meal of the day. Bills grill opens at 8 according to the website and their signage. Evidently the opening time is just a suggestion as I showed up at 8:04 and certainly they were not ready to operate. The place was an icebox and I sat shivering waiting for my reluctant food delivery. No other diners at all!!! Had to get up and go to the kitchen to get a coffee refill. At 8:30 the waitress finally offered another cup of coffee and I mentioned I was very hungry. She said food was coming. I was thinking to myself that so was Easter. Finally as I was getting a $20 bill out to pay and leave hungry, the meal showed up. It was even more pathetic than the military food of years gone past. The eggs were burned, the hash browns portion was ridiculously small, and the biscuit and gravy were cold. I didn't touch the food, gave the twenty to the server and told the cook of my disappointment. Literally even I can cook faster and far better that this so called professional eating establishment. Sit in the cold as an ONLY customer, get your own coffee refill, wait 35 minutes to get a pathetic excuse for a breakfast. I left and went to Denny's. Expensive lesson but certainly unforgettable. The fish and chips were huge and came with fries and creamy slaw ( no low calorie here). The blacked grilled chicken with added caramelized onions and mushrooms on a Gluten Free bun with slaw was excellent and large. The sandwich came with a generous helping of condiments, onion, tomato, pickle and lettuce. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender and moist and with a bit of a spice kick. Kept driving by this place and no matter what time we wanted to go it seemed like the parking lot was always packed. Finally, we decided to make an effort and get there right as they opened at 11 AM on a weekday. Really cute, very casual place. Blue and white checkered table coverings. I had fish tacos that were fantastic but only 2 small street taco sized tortillas, but the fish portion was quite large. The sauce on them was really good. I asked for extra. My husband had a big smack burger. It had the usual ingredients plus "goop". I believe this is a concoction of mayo, mustard, and pickle relish. Husband loved it! We both had Housemade chips and they were quite yummy! Then looking at the menu I saw shakes malt and... Wait for it... Spirited shakes!! For adults only!! Whattt??!! I believe they had three varieties. One was an Oreo type shake with a vodka, but the one I really want to try is Giardelli chocolate, Kahlúa, and vanilla vodka!! It was lunchtime so I didn't partake. I guess we'll have to make another trip back!! ‍ Service was very friendly and fast, however, it took a little bit to get our check. Thumbs up!!
