This is the worst moving service ever. They are NOTHING SHORT of CRIMINALS. Don't waste your time or money with this company. They sent two inexperienced thugs to our house who damaged our property, demanded cash or else were not leaving and said we could take up our complaints with Bill. Bill refused to return several calls after these men left and finally when we got a hold of him was rude and very threatening and unprofessional. Said we could not do anything to him and hung up. WE SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE POLICE IMMEDIATELY before him men left. We are now filing a complaint through our lawyer with the Attorney General of State and the Better Business Bureau( Do not know if he even has a licence but we will find out) and filing a criminal report against him. Most of his reviews I now hear aren't even real and he somehow gets truthful reviews erased from this site and others. This is his web site and phone numbers. I used Bill's Movers on a short notice April 30th, 2011. Bill communicated with me over the phone and was very helpful; great customer service, however I assumed when he said, "I'll throw in some pads" I assumed I wouldn't be charged, but found a $10 extra fee for "tape, wrap, & pads" (I had tape and the furniture wrap already that I had been using to pack my stuff) on the bill- so just double check if it will be a charge for you. The guys were really helpful, and quick. It took us less than 2 hrs for the entire move! Much of that time was spent waiting (they were waiting for me) on getting the truck from another company and keys from my current lanlord, but when it finally was "go time", they brought my stuff up to my second floor apartment without braking anything. Overall good experience, especially if you don't have any help moving! I called Bill for an extra set of hands the day before my move and he was very accomodating! Great service! read more

Bill and crew provided me with the best moving experience to date and I have had a lot of moves! The situation called for me to move a small quantity of large furniture a long distance - not once, but twice! This situation does not appeal to most movers as they don't see the large profit that other jobs could provide. Bill didn't hesitate to help me on both occasions and his team was OUTSTANDING!! What's more is that I was unable to move some of the existing furniture in my home to make way for the new furniture. Bill's team didn't hesitate to help me and they maintained a pleasantness that amazed me given the circumstances (e.g., carrying heavy items up lots of stars and driving for hours). This wasn't an easy move to arrange. I, the father, am in Massachusetts, my 21 year old daughter had just moved to Chicago and her stuff was in public storage there. They needed to meet her at the storage place at certain time, get her stuff out of its locker and deliver to her new apt, a 1 floor walkup. Four days before the move date we try to change the date, making it 2 days earlier. They do it. The truck was actually a bit early to the storage place! The moving guys were polite, efficient and completely professional. The move took a bit less time than the minimum we had paid for (oh, I forgot to mention - they take plastic on the job) so they asked if there was anything else they could help with. Yes there was, and they assembled a table for her. It was the best we could have hoped for and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

These people are the worst movers ever. Bill is very unscrupulous. Sends people he picks off the street to you home. He has absolutely no screening process. We got a 85 pound boy who knew nothing about moving. After they wasted our time and effort and damaged our furniture and property they deamnded a ridiculously large amount of money for the move. A far cry from what was agreed upon. His movers are thugs. They will damage your property and furniture so beware. You will be better off hiring a reliable mover with decent references. Bill started shouting into the phone when we contacted him. Acknowledged the damages but said there was nothing we could do as he does not have a real business. A real jerk. Should be shut down for no licence. Reading the other reviews this is not the first time his men have damaged stuff. read more

I just moved with the help of Bill's moving services for the second time! Last time, I had one guy help me move from champaign to chicago. This time the move was within downtown.. Bill's guys were so professional and very hard working both times- they have met my expectations each time. They were incredibly cautious with the furniture, and took apart/put together my bed in no time. They even got stuck in the freight elevator at my old crappy apt for about 10 minutes (i felt terrible) where it was like 90F and humid.. but they were so nice about it and just laughed it off... I used Bill's Movers to move from one high rise in Chicago to another. I have to say they were extremely organized from the get go. Bill responded quickly to emails from inquiring about his service, rates etc to how to time the move out in one building to the move in to the other building. This speaks volumes to the high-level of customer service he and his company represents. The mover's arrived on-time, new how to make the move the most efficient and effective. The movers were very careful with fragile items - taking extra time to ensure that the items were properly secured to avoid any breakage. I have never written a Yelp review before, and to be honest I didn't even have an account until today. While searching for a moving company last minute I stumbled upon Bill's Moving Services. I was timid due to all the negative reviews on Yelp, but decided to go with them over other competitors. I am glad I made that decision. The movers showed up early, were polite and courteous, and did a fantastic job of moving all the furniture. Moving always comes with unexpected obstacles, and these guys were incredibly flexible. I used Bill's Moving Service for the first time to move all of my 1 bedroom contents to a storage unit. I will definitely be using them again in the future and I highly recommend their services! Bill, the owner, was so responsive to my calls and emails and he is so friendly! Dave and Mike, who were responsible for moving my furniture to my storage unit, were also very friendly, careful, on time, and efficient! My husband and I used Bill's Moving Services in October to move from IL to IN. What an absolute delight are the gentlemen who got us here. First off, the movers came a day early to set the move up, wrapping careful all of our fine and casual art and loading up what could be taken out. They arrived the following morning, always on time, with an additional carrier, at a nominal cost, for the balance of our "stuff". They were gentle and respectful of each and every box and piece of furniture. Plus they were fun, personable, and reasonably priced. Highly recommended by this family. read more

I hired these movers after they solicited me through craigslist. The experience was a nightmare. You will be better of hiring people from a local prison. They damaged my walls, and hardwood floors and one box was stolen by one of their movers. Of course Bill will never return your calls. I should have done a background check before hiring them. Bill says he has a business since 2009. His previous business was shut down for disreputable service. Every few years he tries to open under a new name. Check with the local police before you have anything to do with this company. read more

Great Experience! I found an ad on Craigslist and after contacting many other companies was most satisfied with these rates and the timely response. I was moving from one high-rise in Chicago to another and just needed my truck unloaded. I've heard many horror stories of other moving experiences so was very leery about it. They charged what they quoted with no added fees which I've heard of other companies doing. The unloading only took 1 hour and 45 minutes and the guys were very nice and helpful. I will definitely use them and again and will recommend to others! read more

I'm late in posting this review and apologize. We used Bill's Moving Service for our Palatine to Chicago move last October 09. They are great and these guys are hard workers. We had a 2 stop move (storage facility and new home) with rotten weather and rush hour traffic to contend with. They got us delivered and settled and still had another job to do that evening. All furniture was wrapped and protected with no damage. Their price was very reasonable. We have another temp. move coming up while we remodel our new home and I'll be calling Bill's again. read more

This moving Service was outstanding!!! The two guys who came were hard workers and efficient. They did not waste time. They stayed on schedule which made us very happy. They asked questions when they weren't sure if something needed to stay or go. I appreciate how good workers they are. My mother in law is 95 and her things are precious to her. I had a great experience with Bill's moving service. I needed to move one bedroom from the Chicago suburbs into the city the day after a massive rainstorm that caused flooding throughout the entire area. Communication was excellent, and the movers worked quickly and were very personable, even when I got stuck in traffic because of the flooding and made them wait for 30 minutes, they didn't complain. I have used Bill's Moving Services twice now -- once to move from one third floor apartment to another, and most recently on a two-stop move. Everyone was really great and helpful. Moving my stuff in a one bedroom apartment and my boyfriend's in a studio into our new three bedroom apartment took four hours, just as Bill estimated. My boyfriend has a 50" television and the movers handled it with ease. The movers were great around my dog. I don't want to move again any time soon, but if I did, I would definitely use them again. read more

My movers from another company never showed, and later that night when I found Bill's on Craigslist and called, Bill assured me that two men would be at my door at 8 AM. Walter and Mike were on time, and moved the contents of my 1 BR, 2nd floor apartment into a basement storage unit in less than a half an hour (Bill even told the guys to make sure they called me if they were running late--just so I wouldn't worry that I hired another team of no-shows). I hired Bill's Moving Service to unload my truck after a cross-country U-Haul drive. The rates were reasonable, the 2-man crew showed up exactly on time at 8:00am (even called ahead of time to confirm to say they were on the way). They were polite, professional, finished in the allotted time, and my charges were exactly as quoted. All my boxes and furniture were carried up to the 3rd floor without damage. Can't ask for more!
