We went to another Bricks near Elgin and it was nowhere close to how delicious the food is at the Lombard restaurant. Pretzel bites are our favorite! Honestly you can't really go wrong with Bricks. They have multiple locations and are expanding. They will make you any type of pizza you like but their sides and salads are also quite delicious. Pricing is decent. I really like this place for a date night or when multiple people with different tastes are gather together. I have been trying to support local business since the pandemic began which is why I called Billy Bricks in Lombard today and requested delivery, via Delivery First. This is a great local delivery option and is less expensive than the others. Apparently my request was too much for PETER, who told me at first that I needed to go online to order through Door Dash. Peter is in fact the store manager. This was surprising, because his rude attitude did not fit any leader of any business. From the moment I began ordering I felt rushed, he didn't acknowledge requests I was making and was obviously not happy to take my order, but the worst began when my card was declined!!! A second later I received a text with a fraud alert warning from my bank and was asked to verify the purchase. I notified Peter of this immediately, but it was "too late" according to Peter, so we attempted it again and he was very annoyed to tell me it had again declined. He told me abruptly as I was trying to explain that I needed to verify again, he was going to put me on hold. When he returned I said, did it go through? I explained that this has happened before to me when ordering online (today I learned from US Bank, that if my card is punched in, it alerts the bank to potential fraud), however I was still embarrassed and trying to make Peter understand the situation. His response was NO, it did not go through, and if it gets declined again I am going to have you order online because we are very busy here! OMG. You're too busy to place an order? Treating me rudely is your response to this as a manager? At this point I should have just said, never mind, but I gave him a different card to avoid any issues. WOW....when restaurants are struggling this is how you treat customers? Even when I said, you're being really rude about this, he ignored me and kept asking for card numbers, tip amount, etc. There was no "I'm sorry" no "thank you for your order", no "I understand", no "no worries it's ok". For the simple reason that I never want to talk to Peter again, I will never order from this establishment again. I have never been more insulted. Absolutely no empathy when I was explaining what was happening with my bank and zero thought or effort to customer service. I have plenty of money in the bank Peter, but I will be spending it in a friendly, service oriented restaurant. read more

I ordered a chopped salad with no scallions and paid $1 to add avocado to the mix. Honestly, the worst wood fired as well as worst margherita pizza i've ever had and that's saying something. Wood fired pizza should be thin and crispy and literally snap when you bite it. Bricks sauce was terrible and runny and the pizza was soggy as a wet sock. Probably my first and last time at Bricks Pizza... Would not recommend.... unless of course it's free.
