After traveling for work each week and using Yelp on road; decided to give it a try at home to find somewhere new for lunch. I love finding places like this. Little places that you wouldn't notice from the outside that turn out to be great experiences. They are very friendly at the register and make you feel that they truly appreciate you coming in. Had the margherita pizza. Excellent sauces combined with a very, very thin crust are a winning combination. I am even willing to overlook two of my preferred requirements for a lunch joint (fountain drinks and free refills). read more

Everybody talks about the pizza here, which they should (it's a pizza place afterall), but few mention a hidden gem on the menu...their sandwiches. I took my parents here a couple of weeks ago for lunch and decided to try a sandwich instead of pizza and WOW, what a great sandwich. So far I've only tried the 'Ric's Club' sandwich, but my wife actively craves the Tomato and Basil sandwich and her exact words the other day were "this is the best sandwich I've ever had." Fresh ingredients, wood fire, reasonable prices and this place had to move up the street to accomodate its customers. I remember the old spot just a few facades down the street. An intimate but casual setting. They have beer on the menu if you're in to that and it's a great place to grab a bite before you hit the Metra to go downtown. We have been back several times, for pizza and more, and have been pleased every time. The pizza is good, but the bruschetta is delicious and the spinach artichoke dip is AMAZING. If you have left over dip after you inhale all your toast points, pizza crusts also taste phenomenal dipped in it. My littlest one, who will pull a fit every time you try to get him to eat something that has green stuff in it, ate a ton and wanted more. read more

This is a great little place in Lombard! The atmosphere is laid back and the staff is wonderful! The owner usually makes a once-around to the tables to make sure your food is to your liking. I've only had the pepperoni pizza, but man, it is SO good! (If you like really thin crust!) And they're certainly fast when it comes to preparing your food! Went here today with my family and ordered some pizzas. Mushroom, very veggie, and cheese (for my daughter), and they were amazing! We came here earlier last year and loved it just as much. Our family eats a ton of pizza. We're not fans of deep dish, so I searched Yelp while in Lombard and it brought me here. We ordered a Margherita, Quatro Formaggio and Brick sticks. The kids loved the sticks and Quatro Formaggio, the wife loved the Margherita and I loved them all. The Quatro was the best cheese pizza I've tasted in a long time, the cheese was cooked perfectly. The crust is very thin in the middle so it will bend a bit. I walked in and placed a to go order. I sat up front and watched the show for about 15 mins. We went in and sat down for a while before we realized that you have to go up and order on your own. So we ordered and sat down. They brought the food for us. I had the chicken presto sandwich, which was real good. The kids had cheese and pepperoni pizza, which was not all that. They never checked in on us, never asked if we need to-go containers etc...Which would be okay if you didn't tip when you first ordered. I figured if a screen pops up for tip that they would come and check on you... would not visit again simply because I enjoy being catered to if I am eating out. read more

I love Brick's Wood Fired Pizza. My favorite way to enjoy the pizza is right there, fresh and hot out of the oven. The staff is always helpful and kind. I usually order their namesake, a "Bricks" pizza. It's sausage, mushroom and cheese (I say "hold the onions"!) For family get-togethers someone will run over and grab a few pizzas. Love love love LOVE this place! They have the best pizza and sandwiches! I love the atmosphere as a fun, cool place. Though, there's not much seating (get there early) and no bathrooms, the food and friendly staff make up for it. The waiters and waitresses are happy to get you anything, from silverware to extra cheese. The food was very quick. You can even see the pizzas go into the wood pizza oven. The pizza is absolutely delicious! The homemade tomato sauce and other ingredients are top quality so even though things aren't piled on, the tastes are really mouthwatering. I don't often daydream about particular restaurant food, but I do about Bricks Pizza. My kids (ages 12 & 8) love it too and we all use Bricks as a benchmark when comparing pizzas. We've been there 4 times or so since we discovered it fairly recently and it has been consistently excellent, with the exception of one time when the dough on two of the pizzas was actually too thin for its own good.
