Always amazing pizza the same since I was kid picking up or dining in at the OG on Grand Ave.

Really average to below pizza like eating cardboard. Decent location though right in downtown Elmhurst by Gem Comics a great comic store.

Went to the York Theater to see Fantastic Four. It was fantastic! Wanted something to eat, so kiddo and I wandered up York Ave to see what is around. Found Armand's. I ordered lasagna with a yummy Caesar salad. Dude ordered his own pizza. We were hungry enough to decide to try the tiramisu. Our server was really friendly and gave us some good suggestions based on her own likes and what we wanted to eat. Soft music played on the background. The tables are spread out enough that we aren't listening to those around us. read more

The grilled chicken was very generic and the fries while very tasty got cold very quickly I would highly recommend you stick with a pizza in places that specialize in Pizza such as this and after having this horrendous sandwich and fries I wish I tried the pizza instead read more

I dont know what sauce that was but it wasnt Armands. Born and raised in Elmwood Park. My dad was a police policeman in Elmwood Park for 30 years. Armands was the place to go. I've been to the one in Elmhurst a couple times before years ago and it was fine. There was an acrid naptha taste to the sauce. Linguine was so overcooked it was bloated. The texture in the meatballs... I just don't know what to say. No real flavor. The couple we were with him a pan pizza and I had a piece of it it was good. But I would get cravings for Armands angel hair and meatballs. No anglehair. Guys, find the recipes and get back to the standard and guard it zealously. If you dont, then take all those historical pics down. That spirit is dead and it saddens me. Don't let any cook anywhere change that. And no, im not going to complain to the waitress (who was awesome) when im out with friends and ruin the evening. read more

I'll start by saying the food was delicious and our server was so nice, attentive.....had dinner with a friend at Armand's tonight and ordered the 'ravioli special' that comes with soup or salad. When the bill came, we saw that there was a $12 'vodka' charge. We weren't sure what that was for so we asked the waitress who told us it's the charge for the vodka sauce we had on our ravioli ($6 for each of us.) There was NO mention of that charge on the specials menu - buyer beware! ( It is on the regular menu which is completely separate from the specials menu.) The $12 charge was then removed from our bill; glad we happened to catch this over-the-top fee before paying it. Update: I realized I was a bit harsh with my previous rating- I based it on the fee that i'd mentioned that was over-the-top... I was happy that the charge was removed and as I stated, the server and food were great. read more

Went here for the first time in awhile. Definitely one of the better Armand locations, we had stopped coming after a poor experience at a different location. I'm glad we gave them another shot. Service was excellent and pizza was tasty. We will definitely be back. Only complaint was parking (but that is anything in the "downtown Elmhurst area". Had to park a few blocks down and walk. But I guess it was worth it, lol... read more

I have been coming to the Elmhurst Armands for about 20 years and previously frequented the original Elmwood Park location. Armands has been a staple in my life, and now my children's lives. I always have really good service, consistently great food, and a great atmosphere. And the new ice balls for cocktails have been a nice added touch. Grazie! read more

The location is great except for the occasional train driving by. I liked that it wasn't right in the middle of everything but close to everything. Pizza was good, I liked the sauce, it tasted different. I asked for olive oil by the side, you should try it. The waitress was kind and cheerful. The price though, the price you see at first is just for cheese pizza, if you want any toppings you pay an extra $3, I feel like that quickly adds up honestly, but if you are not alone then it's cost effective. Cons: food takes about 30mins to arrive and my pizza had too much cheese and was very chewy. read more

I have been here twice now. The outdoor seating is so relaxing. Each server was very nice and welcoming. I met Robin today and she is a pistol. Great person. The wine was chilled and the pizza bread was just what I wanted. Good service, food was excellent. ordered from Armand's for a new year's eve party while visiting my brother. not the best carryout i've had, but it was tasty. we got 2 of the yardstick pizzas. one with sausage, pepperoni, and prosciutto (divided into thirds). the other was half spinach/giardiniera and half cheese. good amount of toppings and not too much sauce (which i prefer). if you really like sauce, you should ask for extra. since this was carryout, i can't comment on the in-restaurant service/ambiance. but, the pizza was ready on time. read more

Husband was super impressed with the Italian sausage sandwich - said for once, he was promised hot/spicy and he actually got it! Penne with marinara was exactly what I wanted. Flavor delicious, nice and hot. Service was friendly, not over the top, checked on us and refilled drinks, which is all I ask besides being reasonable and friendly so check check check!! Ambiance is casual, not too loud, not too quiet...families and couples - we needed a place that wasn't too fancy because we were in work clothes but still felt like we could sit down and get a good meal and this place delivered with class and no judgment. Service was good, pizza was good, BUT they charged $11 for a half head of romaine lettuce and called it a Cesar salad and $10 for a glass of house Pinot Noir. Manager was dismissive as she blamed everyone else (distributors) and refused to even try to be empathetic. She stated very matter of fact that when she goes out she gets charged $14 for a martini. To continue the issue, the manager came out again with a copy of the wine list (which we were not provided with when we sat at the table) to tell us that there is no house Pinot. Not worth the price. Definitely will not come again. If you do decide to go...don't complain as the manager does not care. read more

I have been ordering/dining in at Armand's in Elmwood Park and Elmhurst for for over 35 years. Love their Ribs and Pizza, stuffed artichokes and linguini in clam sauce. Never had a problem before but last night was less than stellar. Hoping this was just an off night or due to lack of personnel (chef). Ordered a broiled chicken dinner for delivery from the Elmhurst location. It looked like a piece of "boiled" chicken. Called and advised them and sent a picture to the manager. She immediately agreed that isn't what it should look like and asked me to order something else to be sure it's what I wanted. I ordered the chicken vesuvio which was delivered promptly. Sadly to say it looked like another piece of "boiled" chicken that was thrown on a grill for some marking and then covered in vesuvio sauce. Sent that picture to her as well, no other response. Decided to go to Armand's after some good yelp reviews. We were seated right away and drink orders taken pretty quickly. We started off with a couple of their house salads with their Italian house dressing. Salad greens and toppings were fresh but the salad with swimming in dressing. Dressing was an oil and red wine vinegar-based dressing but a bit too oily for my tastes. They had a deal going with buy one get one pizza, so we ordered one medium cheese and one medium sausage and onion pizza. Pizza was good with a really thin cracker crust, A good amount of fresh toppings not overpowering the pizza however they the pizza could've used more sauce. Service was good and the pizza was really tasty. We would definitely try this place again for their pasta. read more

Always enjoy Armand's. Great thin crust pizza and excellent salads. Finally got around to trying a pasta dish. It came with bread and salad and also was very tasty. Service has always been very good at the restaurant and carry out was just as efficient. I'll continue to keep Elmhurst Armand's on the top of my lists. read more

So weird. Ate in the restaurant a few weeks ago everything's was fine, no problems. Ordered the Monday night pizza special and was told I could only get one because it's one per person. Fine, whatever. Then my husband wanted soup so he called back ordered the soup and a pizza. Then some lady called back all crazy about ordering 2 Monday night pizza specials to the same house. I grew up going to the one in Elmwood Park, in fact it was my first job answering their phones 30 years ago. Ordered from the one in Edison Park when I lived in Portage Park. Then frequented the Lombard and Wheaton ones when I moved to the suburbs until they closed. Don't have a damn pizza special if you don't want people to call about it. Bye Armands. It was a slice. When I worked for Armand's answering their phones I would've never been so rude and aggressive about a $3 savings. Phone girl needs a new line of work because customer service ain't it. read more

Absolutely love the thin crust pizza here. Give the Meatball, Giardiniera and Garlic thin crust. You won't be disappointed.

Great food and service is always good. Wings are good too, but ask for them well-done, you'll thank me later.

"I've experienced better" pretty much sums it up with everything we had. Haven't had Armand's thin crust in years. I've been to this location one other time and I think I thought it was pretty good...soo, I checked pics on yelp and it looked yummy. Hence my craving for Armand's. But - I was torn between ordering the pan or thin. Back in the day at their original location when Armand's was widely popular, I have fond memories of their pan pizza and loved it. There was something very unique about the dough and I remember visiting many times just for this pan pizza. Since then, I haven't had their pan in ages. I decided to try the thin crust again and should've went with my instinct (again..this always happens to me). We got the small all mushroom, spinach with half ricotta, half sausage. Crust had no flavor, couldn't taste the sauce. Not enough cheese. Sausage was minimal and so small I had to search for it. Spinach was finely cut and cooked on top of cheese along with shrooms. Ricotta was sprinkled on top, couldn't really taste. In a nutshell, this pizza lacked on every level and it was flavorless. Bland. (as other reviews have mentioned). Stuffed artichoke was HUGE, but very blah. Mushy bread crumbs and lots of it. The Armand's salad (lettuce, fontinella cheese, artichokes, roasted red peppers) was drenched in Italian dressing and had 4 long strips of red pepper. Didn't like the preparation and didn't enjoy. The only reason I'd come back is to try the Pan pizza for old times sake and hope that it's as good as I remembered... read more

Decided to come here to see if I was the only one feeling off on my experience and I'm not alone by the looks of the Yelp review. For starters, my plates and silverware had bit of red crusted sauce on it and the silverware looked like it had not been cleaned well. This was pointed out to the waitress and promptly replaced. In regards to the food, the spaghetti and meatball had flavorless meatballs. It tasted like plain balled up ground beef with red sauce that had been left simmering on a pot for too long. The crust on the thin crust pizza tasted a bit off from my previous visits. It tasted extra dry and especially hard. There were three or four TVs all showing football and the one that was facing us had a rerun of the SuperBowl from this past February. I could have asked for it to be changed but there are at least 20-30 games ongoing that could have been put on versus a replay. Take a walk around the block and peek in at the other restaurants and you can easily see what dining room lighting should feel like. It shouldn't feel like a showroom. read more

Havnt been here for a while.. Pizza crust was so crunchy thought I would break a tooth. I remember it being soft. They didn't have pop in co2 tanks so given flat pop out of a liter. They offered can I took it. Didnt know I would be charged for another can. Thought free refills. Oh well won't be back. read more

Food is awful. Very disappointed. Everything we ordered was terrible. Baked clams and artichokes dry and tasteless . Meatballs tasted like frozen meatballs. Chicken processed. The ONLY reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 is because I do not like corn meal on a pizza crust. I personally prefer flour but that's just me. This pizza had, Mozzarella, Fontinella, sausage, bacon & pepperoni, extra sauce & baked well done. The pizza was great but I think I won't ask for it to be baked well done next time since the crust was a bit too hard. I want to add that by no means does that play into my review since I ordered it that way (live & learn). I would definitely suggest giving these folks a try. The staff is very friendly & yes, the pizza is very good! Request the mozzarella/fontinella combo to add an extra punch to your pizza! It's worth it! read more

Disappointing. There is nothing special about the food here. The restaurant is clean and the ambiance is inviting. Customer service was excellent but, food was really lacking flavor. We ordered a stuffed artichoke, Pizza Nova Margherita, and an Elmwood pan pizza. The artichoke dish was not tasty and the crumbs were soggy throughout the dish. Took a picture of the artichoke dish but, decided not to photo the pizzas because of their lackluster appearance. I lived in Italy and I know good pizzas. Of course Armand's is not going to measure up to the pizzas I've had in Italy but, I know it could have been way better since I've experienced delicious pizzas in the US at many other restaurants. Even the pizza I get from the frozen food section of the grocery store taste better than Armand's. The thin crust at Armand's was not at all crispy and the pan crust was not that crunchy buttery/oily goodness it should have been. Also, the menu is difficult to read because of the font style and the menu did a poor job at describing this Elmwood pizza. I was not expecting pickled peppers and pickled carrots on my pizza! I was expecting more meat since the menu said the Elmwood contained 2 types of meat, beef and pork. Very skimpy on the meat and the pickled toppings were overpowering and did not work well. I did not like tasting a lifeless, soft breaded, pan crust. The artichoke dish came out right away but the pizzas took unreasonably long. With the restaurant name 'Armand's Pizzeria' I would expect their pizzas to be their specialty and for them to taste better than a boxed, frozen pizza baked at home.
