Great lunch spot. Whenever I have to work out in Lombard I hit this place up. Oddly, I have never had any of their pizzas, but have tried a bunch of their sandwiches, and they never disappoint. A little inconsistent in the way the pizza is cooked. Sometime perfect and sometimes burnt. The sandwiches are always perfect. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. My husband and I hired their food truck for our wedding. We were completely swindled out of thousands of dollars and received sub par service. The contact for the food truck created an elaborate story of how the truck was in an accident, repairs wouldn't be made in time and they would be sending a different team but no truck. I received this notice in an email during my rehearsal dinner. So upon opening my email the day of my wedding I had two options accept what they were telling me or not have enough food for my 200 guests. The "team" they sent was a trailer oven and two grumpy men. The pizza buffet we had prepaid for was one pizza at a time and my guests were waiting far too long for a slice of pizza. The "team" was unprepared and disgruntled. The following day low and behold their social media shows the truck that was "out of service" at a festival and another wedding at the time of our event. They double booked the night, plot, schemed, and set us up. We reached out to our contact and basically was told, "not our problem." I am still waiting to see an accident report four months later. Their reason was they have two trucks. Little did he know I had already reached out to one of their brick and mortar locations to find out if they had multiple trucks. It was confirmed by their own staff they did not have two trucks. I see on social media that their second truck arrived over a full month after our event. I too run a business and would never stand for this kind of practice. Disappointed and heart broken. read more

Bricks is AMAZING! I am in AWE of the pizza @ Bricks. YUMMY! Fresh ingredients, excellent salads, crispy, crunchy crust on the pizza just like us Italians like it. The salads are huge and well priced, compared to most other places. Everything is fresh, I have never had anything that looked even slightly wilted. The pizza is excellent, I think contrary to a few reviews that the crust has great flavor. The soup is also a great value at $2/cup or $3/bowl. My boyfriend and I have been here multiple times and we love it! The pizzas cook super fast too, so you won't have to wait long for your food. This pizza place is fantastic! I order their margarita pizza which I personally feel is the best. If you're not in the mood for a pizza, their sandwiches are out of this world. Always keeping an eye out for thin crust pizza places, I noticed Brix on yelp and enjoyed a great lunch today. Though there were no places to sit immediately the owner kept us chatting until there was. Food was served very quickly without any fanfare. I ordered a veggie and it was great....All ingredients were very fresh. However I thought the tomoatoes had way too much balsamic-but other than that it was a great meal. Light enough for lunch or even a dinner where as someone said you don't feel you have to run 5 miles the next day. My coworker had a tomato mozzarella sandwich which was average. My family and I was visting Chicago the summer of 2006 and ran across Brix Wood Fired Pizza, and we were so happy we did. They were having a car exhibit and selling slices of pizza outside. We were visiting from Missouri, and after a day at the museums in Chicago, rode the train back to Lombard. We walked down from the train station, and walked straight to Brix. We ordered a More Cheez...Pleez pizza. My husband had a roast beef sandwich. The man who made our pizza even left the tomato sauce off one quarter of the pizza because my 9 year old son doesn't like it. My kids say it was the best pizza they had ever had, I would have to agree with them. My husband said the sandwich was very good, and that it is always the bread that makes the sandwich. I was not at all impressed by Bricks. Having read so many great reviews here, I was more than excited to try Bricks after moving to the area. The pizza was okay, but I've had better and paid less than I did here. The pizzas are pretty much individually sized and are outrageously priced for how sparsely they add ingredients. I had a margherita pizza and there was 3 sprigs of basil, very few tomatoes and you couldn't even see the mozzarella cheese... I won't be returning, the pizza would have to be phenomenal for me to spend so much on it and it was far from this. read more

Charged my wife and I 7.00 for 4 slices of turkey and a few slices of cucumber for our almost 5yo daughter, we like this place but 7.00 bucs for some deli meat no chips or anything else. They need a kids menu or a solution for the little ones. We won't be going back mainly because it is not as child friendly as other places and they seem to be very rigid in accommodating families with younger children. The pizza at Brick's Wood Fired Pizza is outstanding! Thin crust, blackened just a bit in spots, highly flavourful toppings, and great ratios of cheese to sauce to toppings to crust. My wife and I commented to each other that there wasn't anything about the pizza that we could imagine being better. The one big area for improvement, though, is in the staff's demeanor. We walked in for the first time, we made eye contact with the cashier and one of the guys operating the oven, and we smiled directly at both of them, but they neither said a single word to us nor gestured for what we should do next. We stood just inside the door for an uncomfortable seven or eight seconds, then on our own we moved towards the menus. After a little while, I looked back with a smile at the cashier, but all that she did was look back at me with a very noticeable, uncomfortable look on her face. I eventually had to walk to the counter and start the talking with, "this is our first time here, please tell us how things work, what do we need to do?" She answered the question, and I thanked her, but she showed no "sign of welcome or appreciation" until later in our visit - after my wife and I took the initiative to talk with her when she was near our table. We had the same basic experience with that one guy operating the pizza oven. We did not notice a parking lot, so we parked on the street. Getting there was interesting - lots of road construction in the area, plus we were crossing back and forth over railroad tracks. It looked like the Lombard Metra station was only a few hundred meters away. Prices were more than reasonable for Brick's exceptionally high quality pizza! read more

Went there last night with my husband and daughter. What a major disappointment! I gave it one star only because the crust of the pizza was really good. Crusty and chewy. I wanted the whole pizza to be like that. Instead it was paper thin, skimpy toppings, bland taste, & floppy when you picked up a slice to eat it. And we love thin pizza, but this was ridiculously thin. If I held it up the light, I probably could see through it! The salad is also part of the one star. We ordered the Greek Salad. It was fresh & big enough for us to share while waiting for the pizza, but nothing special. We will not be coming back. read more
