I just purchased my 2nd Ford truck and 3rd vehicle overall (the other vehicle was a Lincoln MKT) from Billy Howell. Just bought a new truck in June and unfortunately I totalled it; however, that truck and the quality construction literally saved my life. Fortunately we had also bought the gap insurance which saved my wallet. Just last month, I bought the replacement F150 truck. I upgraded a little bit to Lariat and love it. This dealership has a preset thing that they want you to put saying I had to wait a little longer for service due to covid to be served but I'd rather wait longer and know I'm safe yada yada. Please. They refuse to wear masks unless you ask them to put one on. They don't practice social distancing. They had an employee cough in their hand and then promptly go straight to the public water fountain. There used to be a show on TV called To Tell the Truth. Reading these reviews it looks like this dealership needs to clean house and get rid of some of those that have issues in that department. Anything to sell a car? That's what I would expect from a shady little used car shack on the corner of two streets, not a nice reputable car dealership. I would say they need to get rid of employees not taking the covid pandemic seriously enough to keep other employees as well as customers coming in safe from their germs. That is Disgusting and not something you want to see at a reputable dealership in 2021. Just food for thought. Not that this dealership cares to fix these issues. read more

They're willing to work with people who have less than stellar credit, and get you the best deal possible. I was making the final decision on make and model before coming to Bill Howell Ford for a third test drive. I was not intending to finalize the purchase. But, Robert Jimerson made the experience so much better than representatives at two other manufacturer's dealerships and the other Ford dealership (and two of those were good experiences) that I believed it was the right place and the right time to proceed. I have not previously owned a Ford. So, the comfort level with the vehicle and the process that Robert provided help tremendously. Dudly went late into the evening as well and removed other apprehensions I had in the financing of the transaction. Quite remarkable was the entire experience, only to by continued three days later by Bill Howell calling to check on the experience and the performance of his team. This is an outstanding care dealership, which we have used for our last four car purchases. The staff is friendly but efficient, the process is exceptionally efficient (under four hours from entering the showroom to exiting in our new car this last time, which included not a little friendly talk with people we had worked with before), and the place is clean and pleasant. There is not a hint of high pressure sales techniques, the quote they have given for our trading have all been more than fair, and the salesmen spend quite some time looking for ways to add in discounts. Even the experience with their finance department was friendly and pleasant! I told Billy Howell I would leave this alone, but he seems to want to make his 'family's business" look better in service than they are. Please look at the other review sites for other service related issues customers have had. Unless you pay (I am not willing to go that far) you can not get info from Chiltons and Motors. I phoned Billy Howell service department asking if they could retrieve my vehicles passcode as I lost it in the move from Ohio, with my VIN # they told me no, I needed to bring my car in and they would have to hook it up to a machine, it would cost 50 something dollars (not a lot of money). When I called my old dealership they gave it to me over the phone in a matter of 3 minutes from my VIN # they keep them on new and used cars. My dealership service department also told me that the dealership I took it to should have referred me to them as this is their normal practice there in Ohio. After I had already adopted Billy Howell Ford as my new dealership here in Ga., for oil changes, a check engine light came on, I called and took my car in, found a air leak for 486.00. I only questioned any of this after the $50.00 pass code issue. I was then told they did not know where I bought the car or if it was new or used. Should be info you know on your customers, again I am saying their dealership needs help in their service department, I can not speak for anything else. B. Howell e-mailed me and wanted to "resolve this" 2 days ago, I said I didn`t want anything and I would wish his business the best and hope they would put some effort into their service department. If I could give less than one star I would. Went to buy a Expedition awhile back and they tried to pull some less than professional stunts with the sales price and trade. When I caught it and called them out on it they got defensive and tried to blame it on us not reading it the right way and at the same time they admitted it "was poorly written" - the contract. So when the time came for a new company car I had my employer cancel a Ford product that this dealership would have delivered and get me a Jeep. Billy Howell Jr himself called my employer to complain about me because Howell buys insurance from us and thought he was special and he'd get me in trouble. My boss laughed and didn't care what Mr. Howell had to complain about! In fact we stopped doing business with them. Yes I worked in insurance and they did business with us but now I am retired from that employer so the time has come to post the review and negative truth about this dealership. Their Motto is to provide no service and blame others for their poor service and poor business approach. I'd never step foot into this business and certainly would not buy a car here. As a result I have purchased a total of 6 cars elsewhere due to the poor service and business practices. read more

I saw a beautiful 2015 Mustang GT Premium online and decided to go take a test drive to see if it drove as good as it looked. I was contacted by representative, Brenda Hobby, to confirm my appointment because I filled out an online inquiry. Ms. Brenda was extremely professional, nice, and accommodating. My wife and I showed up to the dealership on Saturday (8/12/17) and was promptly escorted to the vehicle by Ms. Brenda and after a nice test drive, went to discusses finances. Initially the price was a little above my budget, but Ms. Brenda went out of her way to get me a lower price. I have purchased one other vehicle from Randy at Billy Howell Ford, and because that was such a positive experience, I knew this was the only place I would go to purchase a new vehicle. I went for a simple oil change for my 2014 F250 diesel truck. At the recommendation of the service adviser I consented to having the fuel filters changed. He said at the time it would be no more than 300 dollars .........set appt.........wait 1.5 hours service complete.....get the bill 376.50 ........I'm in a hurry so I pay it and get to work. I then call the service adviser and ask about the charges and some explanation on the codes and charges ....I was literally told I do not know all of the codes or prices ....how is that? isn't that your job to know these things? I have some mysterious charge of 84.55 listed as a part that can not be explained ....listed on the bill is changing or air filters ......I never consented to, nor are any filter part numbers listed on the service order but it seems i was charged labor for this......long story short they changed the prices have line items that cannot be explained and charges that are unattached to any service and or part requested.....additionally a shop fee which was explained to me as any rags or chemicals needed while changing my oil .....not allot of money but 32.60 in rags and cleaner ...hmm .....the main reason I am leaving a post is the pitiful excuse of ignorance used by the service adviser ....with a nervous stutter telling me I don't know........ when that is the only reason your there is unacceptable. read more

My husband and I decided it was time for a van and wanted to buy used. We'd heard many good things on 104.7 the Fish about this dealership so we went there first. We found a Dodge Caravan we liked, but it was missing a few things we wanted - leather seats and an entertainment system. We were working with Wayne Johnson who was great - friendly and helpful. We then met Gary LaDue who agreed to take care of the upgrades for us. Everyone at the dealership was so helpful and made what could have been a stressful experience very pleasant for us. I have been using Billy Howell Ford for a few years now for my 08 F150. I keep up with all service maintenance and tune ups as required. I was happy, but the past year has been questionable. In December I brought my F150 in with steering issues. They advised it was the power steering pump. They replaced along with pressure hose, return hose and power steering flush at a cost of $1279.33. February 1st, my F150 started have the EXACT same issues. I brought in for service thinking the pump was defective and under warranty. I left the car and they never called back. Finally I called at 3:30 and they advised they would call back. Finally someone called back and advised its is the steering gear and they would give me a break discounting 1 hour labor since they didn't catch this on previous repair. This is same issue. It is obvious that the original repair was misdiagnosed and they need to not only fix the steering gear, but refund the difference for original repair. The service manager advised they would call with resolution this am, still waiting for that call. As a note I have spent a total of $3705 in 2016, and this is not the first questionable repair but I trusted the dealer to be honest and truthful. I am so upset and feel taken advantage of. read more

I am a single mother of 6, very low income.I have always had a dodge van most of my life. My car has always last me 10 to 12 years. In January 2013 a friend and I went to Billy Howell Ford to buy a car. 2011 Ford Escape Limited. It came to a total of 23,300. That was with 3,500 down and they also added on 2,565 for an extended warranty.The car had some deep scratches down to the metal. I was told that if I wanted that fixed I would have to pay for that because I was given a great deal. Later that afternoon. I'm going down the express way and it starts sputter and cuts off on the highway.Start it again.At this time the car would only go 10 miles an hour. I get it over to the side and off it goes again.I'm alone on the road during a dark night. A car that I did not even have for a few hours was not running. I called for road side assistance and they told me that the car was not in the system. Finally they agree to send a tow truck.They pulled the car to my house the same night I had purchased the car.The dealership was closed by then. I did not even have this car for half day and this is what had happen.So the next morning I called for a tow and was told that they could not come to get the car because it was still not in the system. So I call Billy Howell Ford.After the man at Billy Howell talked to me like I was not human. They decided to send out a wrecker to my house. Followed the wrecker to the dealership. Went inside and they said, I had to keep the car. His attitude was not good to me as a customer. He had me so upset to the point of crying. He gets up and comes back.Then at that time he had changed his mind for some reason. He had told me that all he had to offer was a Ford Focus. I paid 23,300 for the Escape and he would buy the Escape back for 18,000, that is around 5,000 less and this was not even 24hours later. The total for the Ford Focus came to 22,221. I also paid 3,500 down on the first car.This was not going onto the second car. The difference in pay back also went on the Focus.Then we get into the loan officer office to sign the papers. The loan officer said, know what happen to the Escape. The car was pressure wash by the service guy. The water had gotten into the motor. I even asked the loan officer what they will do about that car. He told us they would just let it dry out and put back out for sale. Know one should be done the way they were doing me and all this was because of the employees of this ford company.Week later the Ford Focus was making a noise.So I went to take the Focus to Ford place in Roswell Ga. I was not going to deal with the Billy Howell Ford after the way they had talk to me. They said, it may be the wires.Looked up my warranty and told me that I did not have any extended warranty at all on this car.Maybe they have not put in the warranty yet. Also the warranty that I had was not a good warranty(EasyCare) and I may have to pay for the work.They even said, I was not done the right way when it came to the first car. They gave me and apologize for the other ford place. So left that place and came home.Have not taking the car back. Because, the problem with the first car and now this car. I went to get an SUV. With the only money I had saved up after taking care of my kids. Now I have a car that is not what I wanted. The car has been in my garage since. I'm asking for help in this matter. I feel like I should be reimburse for some of my money. Since I put 3,500 down.All I wanted was for them to take the Escape back. .So a few months down the road. I was told that I need to have surgery and was having a lot of health problems.Had no Insurance for surgery. Was not driving the car. So I needed to sale the car.At that time it had 270 miles. They only gave me 16400 for the Ford Focus.Put the difference on my credit card 4475 at that time. I lost a lot of money in this deal. read more
