    All star cheeseburger
    Annabelle R.

I was craving a burger this past Saturday, and this place hit the spot. Got the all star cheeseburger, with no mustard and added grilled onions, and it was much tastier than it looked. Juicy beef patty, a thick layer of melted cheese, fresh veggies, and condiments accurate to my customizations. It was delightful and filling. Staff was friendly, the restaurant setting was clean and simple with ample seating available, and parking was easy in the dedicated parking lot.

My boyfriend finally brought me here after him talking about how good the food is here countless times. I must say, I was NOT disappointed. I ordered a cheeseburger with grilled onions. The burger was pretty big and definitely juicy! I can't wait to come back and explore more of their menu.

Yes, this is the chili cheese dog and the hot dog is in there... somewhere... underneath the mountain of chili!

Can't help it - I have such affection for old-timey independent burger joints that have withstood the test of time. All Star Burgers is the epitome of a "greasy spoon" diner but clearly maintains a following and wouldn't be here all of these decades later if their food wasn't on point. Yes, it clearly seemed like it had seen better years, but I ordered a simple chili cheese dog and was taken aback by the monster that arrived at my table. Absolutely SMOTHERED in chili, I defy anyone to pick this one up! This dog is definitely a fork and knife endeavor. All that said, was it great? Well, it was good but admittedly, the chili tasted a bit like classic canned chili with beans and the hot dog was good but not spectacular. Still, service was super nice, and again, just in terms of the AMOUNT of food you get, I was impressed. I have to close by noting that I left the restaurant completely full and satisfied, but as I got closer to the car, I definitely had this inner dialogue of "WTF did I just do to myself"! Hahahahaha

We came here for lunch today, wanting an American styled brunch. This was exactly what we got. The restaurant is independently located in the corner of a street in the City of Newark. The parking spots around the restaurant sorta goes in a circle surrounding the restaurant which is quite nice and convenient. My wife and I ordered: Two edger breakfast, all star bacon cheeseburger, and some pancakes. They didn't taste anything out of the ordinary but it's this exact makings of the food that I love. It's a local American joint and all of the food tasted great but nothing different then another mom and pop spot around town. What can I say, a solid 4 out of 5 from me. Everyone was friendly, but the inside is definitely due for a refreshed look. The furniture looks dated and it serves purely for utility purposes. Once you get inside, you'll know exactly what I mean. They do also serve ice cream there so it is nice to see a variance of items being offered. How All Star Burgers can improve is to maybe look into offering unique burgers that are different then their decades old menu to pour some more life into the restaurant. It's at a great location and I can see people that live here see it as a great local diner. That being said I also see the potential for this restaurant to do some much more in today's world if adjustments are made correctly.

Allstar Bacon Cheeseburger & Allstar cheeseburger + "Box of Fries"

Juicy, greasy, flavorful burgers that keep you wanting more! Definitely one of the best beef burgers in the area, although on the pricier side. My allstar cheeseburger was around $8.50 and the allstar bacon cheeseburger was around $9.75. Expensive for "fast food" but the quality was great, and it was super delicious. I enjoyed the fries too; they were crispy with the perfect amount of pillowy potato inside. Great w/ siracha or their house sauce. Old school diner vibes here all the way! I hope they never change that! Nice workers but minimal service.

    Best fries
    Eva L.

Really good fries. Crispy outside, soft inside. Somehow the inside of the fries was not dense and surpri not as oily as you would expect French fries to be. Used their special sauce for dipping. Special sauce is a cross between thousand island dressing and mayo ketchup. Generous portion, too. Good size burger. I got the cheese burger. It takes like a burger you would make at a home at a Summer backyard BBQ. Came with soft buns, tomato slices, mayo, and lettuce. Got it without onions and mustard. They have a condiment corner. Free soda refills. They also serve breakfast all day. For dessert, the have ice cream and cheesecake. The menu also has tuna melt, pastrami, Philly cheesesteak, fish burger, hotdog and chili They also serve veggie omelet. By 7:00 pm, the place was full. Reasonably priced especially the combo meals. Family owned with the owners actually working a the restaurant. Will try the breakfast next time and the onion rings.

I love this place. It has one of the best BLT I have ever had! I ordered to go it was very quick and efficient was super busy when I went in the line were short. The price is super affordable $9 for the BLT. Next time I think I'll try the burger and onion rings because it also looked really good .

    It lasted 3 seconds

What a true hidden gem. The guy at the counter had the energy that he owned the place, and maybe he does! I was getting a smog check (my normal spot) and finally I decided to get a burger. Far surpassed any expectations I had (which were moderate) but absolutely delivered a great meal and great experience Which is awesome to see from a small business down the road from me in Newark. Go here now

Thought about a burger but saw spam and eggs. You have choice of rice or potatoes. I did rice for spam and rice is yummy. It was a lot of food. The spam was cooked well but I like my spam a little thinner. Eggs were nice and fluffy.

This place has a trendy, stylish atmosphere that feels perfect for date night, drinks with friends, or a nice night out. The space itself was probably my favorite part of the experience. The restaurant leans into an elevated New American menu and cocktail-bar vibe. As for the food... it was okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. I remember feeling like some of the dishes didn't taste as fresh as I was expecting, especially for the price point. The menu sounded more exciting than the actual food ended up being. The biggest thing I remember is that it just wasn't very memorable. When I think back on the meal, I remember the nice ambiance more than any specific dish. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but for the price, I was hoping for at least one "wow, I need to order that again" item. The vibe is great, but the food didn't quite live up to the setting for me. I'd be open to giving it another try, but it's not currently at the top of my list of places to revisit.

Thankfully, this third visit reminded me why I loved this place in the first place. This time, we basically ordered almost the entire menu, and overall the food was excellent. My favorite dish of the night was the Spicy Handroll Dip. It's the one item I look forward to every visit and I'd recommend it to anyone dining here. The Hamachi Poke with goat butter was another standout and remains one of the most unique and memorable dishes on the menu. The salmon was good, but so many of the other dishes were so creative and elevated that it ended up being overshadowed. That's more of a testament to how strong the rest of the menu is. They had unfortunately run out of the goat empanadas, so we ordered the vegetable empanadas instead. To our surprise, they were just as good. The buttery aroma coming off the puff pastry when they hit the table was absolutely mouthwatering, and the flavor lived up to the smell. One question for Valley Goat though: why was the tempura nori replaced with crackers for the Spicy Handroll Dip? The dip is still amazing, but the tempura nori chips took it to another level. The crunch and texture paired perfectly with the dip, and I'd love to see it make a comeback. The atmosphere was lively, the presentation was beautiful, and the service was excellent. A special thank you to Jake for taking such great care of us all night. He was attentive, friendly, and helped make the evening memorable. While nothing has quite topped my first visit yet, this was a fantastic meal and a huge improvement from my second visit. Looking forward to visit number four.

I wanted to treat her to brunch and chose this popular Americanized Thai brunch spot. I knew it had a good reputation in the neighborhood, and the packed dining room confirmed that it's a popular destination. We were seated immediately, which was a great start. To begin, we ordered the enoki mushrooms and calamari. The mushrooms weren't quite what I expected, and they had a flavor that reminded me of oil that may have also been used to fry seafood. The calamari was decent but could have benefited from more seasoning. For my entrée, I ordered the Fried Chicken Benedict. Unfortunately, it was the weakest part of the meal. The fried chicken was very underseasoned and lacked flavor. When I cut into the poached eggs, excess water ran onto the plate, which diluted the hollandaise sauce and left the dish tasting a bit watered down. That said, not everything was a miss. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Most importantly, my sister really enjoyed her meal and said she would definitely come back. While my food didn't fully meet expectations, the strong service, pleasant vibe, and my sister's positive experience were enough for me to give this place another chance. I'd be interested in returning to try their lunch or dinner menu before making a final judgment. Overall, the food was hit-or-miss for me, but the service and atmosphere left a positive impression and make me willing to come back and explore more of the menu.

We decided to do a walk in since the bar seating is first come first serve. Inside the restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff were so incredibly friendly and kind! While we were waiting, the manager of the restaurant gave us sparkling wine on the house because he felt bad we had to wait, which we thought was such a thoughtful gesture! We chose this place to celebrate our anniversary and although it was a little bit of wait, the service here already made it worth it. As for the food, we ordered the oysters, milk bread, kampachi, sugar snap peas, tuna on koshikari rice, dry aged duck, and the black cod. The food was absolutely delicious! The duck was probably the only item on our order that we would skip out on next time, but everything else we would definitely get again. The oysters were our favorite item that we ordered! It was topped with an aerated ponzu sauce with a celery oil(?) and that was amazing. Definitely recommend the oysters.
