On a dark an desolate stretch of I-81 on our way to Syracuse, we were not hopeful about finding a decent place to eat. But Binghams was a very pleasant surprise. Nothing fancy, completely unpretentious, just a good, old-fashioned family restaurant with a bright, clean and attractive dining room. We all had hot sandwiches, which were satisfying and generously proportioned. Excellent fries and onion rings. And my favorite part was the homemade vegetables - we were offered roast beets or butternut squash. We went for the squash, and it was delicious (and I'm very critical when it comes to vegetables). We were too full to try any of the bakery items for dessert, but they looked good. Oh, and our server was great - just the right amount of friendly for a family restaurant. Worth a return visit on our next trip to Syracuse. read more

Binghams is something of a destination for my family. We don't get there often because it's not close to home, but if we're anyplace nearby, we look for any excuse to have a meal there. Breakfast is wonderful, especially when enhanced by their homemade baked goods. There's an extensive lunch and dinner menu - and again, the baked goods are fantastic. They have breads and pies to take home too, and we often do. The cherry nut and poppyseed breads are family favorites! We've always had great experience with service too. read more

Stopped for lunch on the way home from upstate NY. Pleasantly surprised by what seemed a traditional family restaurant. Lots to choose from on the menu and waitress was perfectly happy to make a substitution for us. Food was excellent for this type of restaurant. Pricing was really good - 2 adults + 1 child for $27. Definitely a much much better alternative than fast food or a Subway built into a gas station. read more

Some people think that good country cooking should not earn 5 stars but I think that consistently good cooking of any style warrants that status. We have been stopping at Bingham's for years and have always had excellent food and service. On this trip, we stopped for dinner and I had incredibly tender pot roast with mashed potatoes and salad. Sounds boring, but well prepared and fresh is always a winner. Add to that a slice of fruits of the forest pie a la mode and you have a great meal! On the way back, we weren't very hungry but couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy some bread and pie to take home. Now, if we just could find more reasons to visit northern PA.......! read more

Can accommodate vegans very well! I also don't like anything too seasoned or cooked with oil so I asked for the veggies to be steamed plain on the vegtable salad and they were happy to do it! The vegtables were so good: broccoli, yellow & green zucchini, and mushrooms!!! Saw some vegan sides on the menu like sweetpotato fries and mashed potatoes and roasted beets. read more

I've always had good food here. Recently stopped on both ends of a trip to Pennsylvania. My first stops at the post-fire Binghams. I was pleasantly surprised at how the rebuild turned out, and that the food was still good. Lot's of parking, even when towing an RV. Look forward to my next visit. read more

Stopped at this restaurant while passing through Pennsylvania. Very nice clean place. Service was quick and friendly. I had cinnamon French toast. It was made with their thick homemade cinnamon bread. So delicious. Picked up two loaves of their homemade bread. Bought pumpkin raisin and cinnamon raisin. Very reasonably priced and very good. If you have really bad taste in food (and don't know it) then this is the place for you! I ordered the turkey dinner which was very lacking in seasonings and it had this yellowish colored stuff poured all over it that was suppose to be gravy. The gravy was so bad that I just scraped it off and tried to eat just the turkey and stuffing.This was probably one of the worst meals I've ever had at any restaurant! My husband ordered the slow cooked beef and while that did have some flavor, once again the gravy that came with it totally ruined his whole meal. He also ordered a french onion soup that came out with our entrees instead of before them. Having already sized up the restaurant he decided to just eat his soup after his entree. We normally don't get dessert, but a couple we saw on our way into the restaurant raved about how great their desserts were, so we decided to share a slice of their chocolate cream pie. They are very generous with their servings, but there was nothing to rave about here either. Did we complain? No. Should we have complained? Maybe, but there's no changing a place that everyone else thinks is good when for you it's way beyond bad! read more

This is a nice little place. I wasn't here before it burnt down, but now it's a nice place. I have heard the pies were good, and they looked really good, but we were so full from dinner that we couldn't have eaten a piece of pie if we wanted to. To start off, they give you a big basket of freshly baked bread. They gave us dinner rolls, strawberry bread, and banana bread. They gave us a ton too, so there was enough for everyone to have one piece of each. I got chicken noodle soup, and it was really good. One of the best I have had from a restaurant. I got the turkey dinner as well. The turkey and stuffing were really good. The mashed potatoes were ok, but I think they were from a powder. The only thing I didn't like was the gravy was super thick. It tasted ok, but it had a weird consistency. I would definitely go back though. Especially if you're up in the Kingsley area, there's not a ton of choices of places to eat, and I don't think you'll go wrong if you stop in here. read more

I stopped in here last weekend. I ordered the Reuben with "pilled high" corned beef. It was pilled high with sauer kraut, and a trace of corned beef. A very sad sandwich. I generally get a nice meal here, I stop maybe 3-4 times a month. I get tired of the cashier reminding me if I left a tip, or do I want to put a tip on my charge, of some other way to solicit a tip. I have always left a tip here, almost always a 20% tip, even after my sad Reuben. For your nagging policy for harassing customers about the tip, I give you a low rating. After a meal, I don't like being harassed after leaving $5 on the table for a $20 meal. read more

Since it was rebuilt I have heard very good things, unfortunately that wasn't the case! I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and that's exactly what I got. A cheeseburger on a plate with fries, no lettuce, no tomatoes, no onions etc.. I've seen better presentations at a school cafeteria and that school cafeteria tasted 100 times better! The other two people I was with ordered sandwiches, one didn't come with the sides and even after asking for them they never arrived by the time we were finished. And the other person's order was wrong and didn't arrive corrected until the other two of us were finished eating! When we asked for more waters the waitress said she'd be right back and then went and sat at a table for a while. I ended up actually going to the bathroom to refill my own water! When we were leaving I asked to speak to a manager and I could see our waitress roll her eyes as she overheard my request. As I explained everything to the manager he just looked at me with a blank stare and nodded after everything I said. No verbal response, just nodding! Either he didn't care or didn't speak english (I'm going to guess the former) so I shrugged my shoulders and left. If in the area then just look next door and head to the Lennox Diner, I will never go back to Bingham's! read more

We saw their billboard while on a road trip and decided to stop for dinner. We were greeted by friendly staff and their establishment was clean and welcoming. We were given dinner rolls and slices of sweet bread at the table. We ordered the shrimp broccoli alfredo and chicken and biscuits. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, the chicken was tender and biscuits were homemade. Everything was delicious! They also have amazing desserts and pies. You will probably have to get dessert to go because their meal portions are generous and filling. I highly recommend, if we are in the area again we will be back! read more

i've driven by this place probably a hundred times over the years but haven't stopped in until a few months ago. i heard great things about their pies, so while i was in the area i decided to get a few slices to take home. i got pecan, lemon meringue, and caramel apple crumb. if i remember right, the apple one was decent, but i wasn't impressed with the lemon, it seemed a little generic. the pecan pie though was really good, maybe even one of the best i've had. pecan pie is one of my favorites and i feel like it's the most underrated pie, i'm glad these guys have it. i stopped in again a few weeks ago for a meal, and i can't really say that i was too impressed. the bacon and eggs were ok, but the pancakes left a bit to be desired, they were just run of the mill diner pancakes. the homefries were a real letdown. not seasoned or cooked on a griddle, they were deep fried and had no flavor, they were kinda like KFC's potato wedges but smaller. i got some stuff to go this time around too. they have french toast on the menu made with their cinnamon bread, which i wanted to try but that would have been too much food for me, so i got a loaf and took it home and made my own french toast with it a couple days later. good flavor, but there were raisins in it that i didn't care for, and it was also more dense than i thought it would be. i also tried their fruits of the forest pie, which i guess is their signature pie, but i didn't care for it too much, i think there was a spice they used in it that i feel didn't fit in too well. i also got a couple cream puffs, one for me and one for my friend's pregnant wife. we both agreed that it was really good but the chocolate on it was a little much. the pastry itself was good and the cream was great, it was nice and custardy. i'd be down to try a meal at this place again, but really the desserts are where this place shines, and there's a lot more of them that i'd like to try, so i will definitely be back. read more

You'll understand why the booths are so huge after you walk by the bakery display case! Good food and very reasonable. It's right off the exit, not a couple blocks away like Google maps shows. Binghams was my all time favorite restaurant in Kingsley PA until there location closed after a fire in 2010. I was happy to see they recently rebuilt Binghams but the atmosphere and food were not the same. The wait time seemed to have doubled, the wait staff were inattentive, and the food simply tasted pre-made. Although the food and service was below the original "Binghams" standard the home baked goods (to-go) were awesome. read more
