Binkley's gets three stars for only three reasons: easy parking, nice atmosphere and good drinks. If we were going by food alone they'd be a 2 max, maybe 1.5. It's really disappointing every time we give them a shot for lunch or dinner but if we are just meeting up for a drink then it's more than adequate. The menu looks fine but when the food comes out it looks/tastes like sub-par bar food-which doesn't match up with the exterior or the interior of this place. Binkleys is a fave for our family-close, (relatively) easy to park, SUPER kid friendly, and decent food. Favorite thing to order is The Village pizza, spicy flavor and decent crust. Top sirloin is a good choice for the value, as well. Salads are great, homemade dressings are amazing. Most important---THE BEER LIST. They have always had a great selection, and they have just recently DOUBLED their beer list as they added on a new tasting room. Yum, love this place. My boyfriend only ever wants to eat here when he comes to town, which is fine by me! They have a large variety of cheaper and more pricey options, as well as a wide array of food options. Everything I've ordered has been delicious and and atmosphere is pretty good and casual. Usually it's hard to find parking and we circle for a while before we can find a spot, even on the non-busy time. That doesn't keep up from going to Binkley's though! read more

I know that I can take the kids, meet the grandparents, take friend from out of town, etc.; I know that I can get a good meal, the kids have a decent selection, and service is impeccable. This was my reply when a friend i had dinner with last night sent me a text that wrote, "Thanks for coming out. Sorry I got a little 'sour'. Was a little upset about the eggs!" My friend is vegan. We make it a point to go out to eat with one another frequently. It is always a challenge when understanding what she can and cannot eat at each particular restaurant. At Binkleys last night she asked the server if the hummus and bread was vegan friendly. My friend had been in this restaurant before and the server on the prior occasion mentioned the hummus was vegan friendly! My friend ordered the hummus appetizer both occasions, this time and last time, she ate the food as well thinking it was vegan friendly per the information from the first server. The server this time suggested consult from the chef in order to be thorough in her analysis and conclude on a correct answer. The server that made it a point to consult the chef comes running out of the kitchen with a panicked demeanor and a strong inclination to mention that the chef has looked at the bag of hummus bread and acknowledged there are eggs in the ingredient list. My friend was sickened with not only the thought of something foreign to her for the last year entering her body, but the sheer deceit and untrustworthiness that she felt in regard to the servers as well as the entire restaurant. All in all, the atmosphere and decor is really well organized. The food was nothing short of OK. The relatively high price point and elegant decor denotes a certain higher level dinning experience. My suggestion, get rid of the tacking Denny's style wicker bread baskets and the atrocious plastic and HP all-in-one home printer paper specials table display! Bonefish grill makes a good specials display present on the bar tables, i recommend Binkley's to check into where they got those. Needless to say our Bi-weekly restaurant outings will never again include Binkley's. Although, i would go back with someone that didn't care about quality of food and service, and only valued the visual esthetics of the place. read more

Soup was super watered down and salty, the carrots in the salad had a weird after taste, and the mashed potatoes were incredibly mediocre. We've driven past Binkley's millions of times and I always say that I want to check it out. So we decided to go there for Sunday brunch, but I was so disappointed with the brunch menu that we ordered off the lunch menu instead. The brunch menu was really small and nothing really seemed appealing. I ordered a house salad, tomato & mozzarella on ciabatta bread off their seasonal lunch menu and a side of fries. My fiancé ordered the Caribbean chicken wrap (also off the seasonal menu) and the soup of the day which was a creamy, red bell pepper soup. The house salad was really good and my sandwich was really tasty. It was big enough for two people so I shared half with my fiancé. And that was a good thing because the Caribbean chicken wrap was not so great. The chicken was so dry and hard and it seemed like all the seasoning was on just the bottom of the wrap and not on the chicken. And the red bell pepper soup was.. different. We don't quite know how to explain it. I think it was weird for me because I wasn't expecting it to taste like a sweet & sour soup. Personally I think we've been jinxed with soups since our odd soup experience in South Dakota. :P So overall it was just okay for us. I really enjoyed my sandwich and I would definitely come back to try the other ones on the menu. And it seems like Binkley's would be a great place to have a beer and some appetizers with friends. I recently stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised to smell the smoker outback burning hickory and flavoring pork! One look at the menu and I was sold on the pick 2 lunch special of a mini pulled pork sandwich and for $4 extra the smokehouse salad which says it comes with house smoked turkey char-grilled corn and queso fresco. Unfortunately I had deli sliced turkey on mine and flavorless canned corn. Perhaps if it were prepared like the menu says it would have been better. Binkleys was a convenient location for an event at Clowes. We were able to take advantage of the wine special and it is a good location for happy hour social meetings. The drink specials change daily so pick your night based on your preference. The server was nice. We ordered the Strawberry Chicken Salad based on the server's recommendation. Excellent choice. I ordered the 6 oz Sirloin with blue cheese crust. The steak was prepared fine but the blue cheese topping was forgotten so they took back to add. It didn't get hot enough to add anything to the steak and ended up being scraped off. The steak was nicely prepared so will skip it next time. Bonus: Open Table reservation vs waiting for 20 mins as most others nearby expect. If you are wanting a group to meet and sit down I'd recommend this spot. read more

We don't come here often because the price is but high for us, but I've never been disappointed by a meal here. I usually like to order different things when I return to the same restaurant multiple times, but once I tasted their stuffed chicken with mushrooms I was hooked. And get this... I hate mushrooms. The sauce they use on it is just that good. My boyfriend has had several of their fish dishes which have also been good. I like that they usually have different specials in the menu as well. Their mixed drinks are a bit overpriced, so we usually just stick with beer or wine. Overall, I really like Binkleys when my boyfriend and I want to go out for something a little special, rather than our regular cheap bar joints. read more

Binkley's is one of our regular spots. We usually sit in the bar but occasionally choose the dining room if the bar is extra loud. The food and service are solid. The red-pepper hummus with naan and onion rings are excellent. The soup of the day is usually a one-time only creation and quite good. I also like the bison burger but be sure to insist they not over cook it or it will be dry. I would like more salad choices but that a minor quibble. read more

Have been visiting Binkleys for years, always great service and food. Ideal location just south of Broad Ripple ave. Parking can be a struggle behind the building. Walk in the rear door, there is a hostess station, a bar area directly in front of you (on the north side), large eating area and private dining room on the south side. Outdoor seating area with several high top tables along College ave. Mixed crowd, some young, some old, but overall skews toward 30's/40's. Bar area contains several high top tables and a horseshoe shaped bar. Great bartender service and full menu available. read more

This place is like a locally owned O'Charleys with a good beer list. I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. The food is standard American fare - sandwiches, steaks, seafood. Nothing too exotic. Everything I have tried has been good. I appreciate that they have good grilled (broiled?) asparagus instead of the usual assortment of buttery veggies or potatoes. Plus, they have a very nice beer list with an emphasis on local products while still keeping some regional favorites, like Bell's. The location is prime. They have a parking lot. I went in to Binkley's tonight and I sit in the bar. It is a very nice bar and a cool atmosphere. I was greeted by a bartender and she told me that her name was Holly. Gave me a drink menu and then another gentleman who was behind the bar gave me a food menu. I ordered a water which I received promptly while I decided what alcoholic drink that I wanted to have. It was all going good up until that point. But after that I was just completely ignored. I have no idea why. Never came back over to me even after I put both of the menus down. Helped the people next to me but just ignored me. This was a place that I would go to about once a month. Had not been to the bar for a long time as I usually sit at a table away from the bar or general dining area, and I guess that was a good thing. It will be a while before I go back. Binkley's. A warm and cozy eatery with a friendly staff. The waiters were not overbearing, nor did they impede on my exquisite dining experience, yet were helpful and polite. The food was decent, I had a pulled pork sandwich with fries on the side and a pint of Kolsch (that's beer). The beer was refreshing and crisp, however, the martini that I tried was way too strong. It was like there was hardly any mixer in it at all! As I continued on my dining adventure, I was pleasantly surprised to find the first few bites were delicious. However, as my face met the middle I discovered that the sauce and barbecue flavor could not penetrate the steaming mound of pulled pork and I was disappointed. This did not discourage me from continuing my meal. I did pay for it after all. Speaking of which, the pricing of this venue is pretty good. I think google's 2 money sign rating is spot on.
