Birria Landia - some of the best tacos in NYC. I'm so proud to have grown up just a neighborhood away from their original location, Jackson Heights. What a testament to the amazing food that comes out of Queens, because now they have several locations including on the UWS and in Downtown Flushing of all places! The tacos - the meat is from the excellent and delicious birria they made, and the tortillas are grilled with the birria on them. Get a cup of consomme to dip the tacos into beacuse this is the way. So delicious. So good. As much as LA has on us on tacos in general, Birria Landia is one of the places that lets us hold our own in the great taco competition, at least for a while. Do yourself a favor and try these tacos if you haven't already. SO Good and one of the best bites I had the year I tried them. I've been back a few times since, most recently last week!
Birria-Landia -- Roosevelt Ave & 78th St, Jackson Heights, NY I ordered through Uber Eats -- 2 consomés and 3 orders of beef birria -- and wow, this place completely blew me away. So so so yummy!! Best Birria tacos i've ever had! The meat was so tender and perfectly cooked. I will be craving these tacos until i'm back. They were a bit busy, but regardless it was well worth the wait. So glad I stopped by.

I've lost count of how many times I've returned to Birria-Landia. Let's just say I'm a certified birria addict thanks to this magical food cart. Out of all the times I've ordered here (seriously, 100% of the time but I'll say 99% justttt to be safe), nothing has ever gone wrong. They have a straightforward menu with just four dishes (excluding drinks), and they've absolutely perfected each one: consomé ($4.5 for a small, $6 for a large), tacos ($3.5), mulita cheese quesadilla ($4.5), and tostadas ($3.5). Note: If you order online, it's an extra $1 for each. I always go for the two mulita cheese quesadillas - can't resist that cheesy goodness (absolute self-destruction for someone whose lactose intolerant but it's so good). My sister, on the other hand, swears by their tostadas, which she claims are a fuller (and more flavorful) version of their tacos. And she has a point; tostadas are typically served with a crisp tortilla that holds up better to toppings, giving you more crunch and flavor in every bite. Of course, we pair this with their irresistible (large, always!) consomé - savory, homey, and not too salty. I'm fully convinced that simplicity is their strength, and they've nailed every item on their menu.

I'm not quite sure what's the difference between tacos and birria tacos, but the tacos were pretty good. They double-shelled it to encapsulate all the flavors and stews, which definitely worked for its purpose but I felt like it became a little-bit too carby for me. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, but the winner was definitely the pickled onions. Haha, I'm not sure why but I was obsessed with their pickled onions, I think it's probably one of the best ones I've ever had. Overall, not too sure if this place is mind-blowing per say, but I'm really glad I got to try it out. By the way, it's around $3.50 a taco which I wouldn't say is incredibly affordable but I guess it is famous.
Came on a Friday evening, and there was no line. At $3.50 a taco, we got one per person, and they came out relatively quickly. It came with hot sauce and pickled onions in separate containers as well. Each birria taco encompassed 2 shells filled with a good amount of beef, onions, cilantro, and their sauce. The lime also adds the necessary acidity and freshness to cut the heaviness of the meat. The tacos taste like what you would expect them to--hearty, stewed, tender beef that melts in your mouth. It was good but it wasn't hot and lacked a certain flavor. Perhaps the consumé would've added an extra complexity to the flavors. Overall, it was a good experience! I probably wouldn't wait a super long line for them, but I would still recommend trying it out if you happen to pass by!
This truck has been next to me for over 6+ years, and I decided to try it for the first time the other day. I was sleeping on it for that many years. I can not believe my tastebuds waited that long! When I tell you, these are the BEST birria tacos ever. The tortillas weren't soggy, but crispy with the consumé soaked in it. The consumé too was heaven, like you can tell they cooked this the whole day because the beef broth really shined through and the flavor was just *chefs kiss*. Birria Tacos - First off, I was disappointed that my tacos did not come with the consume to dip it in. Excellent food. My niece told me about this place. Since she lives around there, she keeps talking about it every time she comes to visit. This time, I was in her area, so I decided to pick up an order to go. We had tacos, soup, and Tastade.. They are just awesome, as she mentioned. I'm glad that we picked it up. I did not get to see imside of the truck since I was driving, and there was hardly any parking, so I had to stay in the car. But truck looks nice and clean.

I'm still drooling over these tacos. My boyfriend and I got five Birria Tacos ($3.50 each) and a Small Consome ($4.50) and we went back in line to get more. Truly one of the most flavorful, addicting bites and dipping each taco in the consome makes it perfect. I felt that the size of the tacos was fair for the price and the consome was also very reasonably priced. There's lots of meat in it so it's a nice addition to eat after your meal. This is a great stop for lunch or a quick snack. Definitely come here!

Came here after a concert, and it was exactly the kind of late-night spot we were looking for. Despite it being packed most of the time, I'd say the service is quick. I've worked my way through almost the entire menu (still need to try the consommé!), and everything has been consistently delicious. The tacos are easily the standout for me-- super tasty and honestly some of the best I've had. read more

I live literally down the down from this truck and I love how convenient it is for me to just walk there. Line some times can be long but it moves fast . That's the best birria taco you will ever have in nyc . I tried everything they have on the menu and they were all super delicious . The meat and the spice they use and the sauces they all just go together. If you get tacos from there make sure you get their soup too ! read more

The it's a food truck so the ambiance is a tiny not so great looking park with a bunch of benches to eat on. Stumbled across this gem of a food truck last year since we were staying at a nearby hotel It was a chilly December night and these slightly-spicy birria tacos were the perfect way to warm up!! The consommé is sooo flavorful (but not too greasy) and the meat is bursting with flavor. We must've eaten here 3+ times in our short trip here. A year later; I'm still thinking about going back to NYC just to eat this again, definitely one of the top highlights of the trip. read more

I'm an Italian guy from New York, I am not by any means a Taco Expert. Everyone is praising these tacos, I'm down to clown but Roosevelt Ave? Parking anywhere in Queens is a challenge. I was able to snag a spot around the corner from the taco truck. Tailgate dining it is for myself and Mrs Bill S. There's a heater outside the truck. The order taker waves me over and I tell him (4) tacos with no onions. Now, I don't mind onions. God forbid if one piece would land on my wife's taco. No onions! The order taker slips thru the window our order. A short wait and then we have the goods. I pop the hatch and take out the tacos. I bought the consommé to dip our tacos. I let Mrs S take a bite and then I take a bite. Picture Flaming Hot Cheetos crushed up and made into a taco shell. These tacos with no onions bring some heat? I like them, not the best I had in NY but top 3. Mrs S ate her tacos but with sadness. Los Tacos No. 1 still holds our top taco spot. Enjoy! read more
I arrived right when they were supposed to open, but they ended up opening about 15 minutes late, which was a bit annoying. However, once I got my food, it came out pretty quickly. I ordered the mulitas, as many fellow Yelpers recommended them over the tacos because they come with mozzarella cheese. I have to say, I'm happy with my choice! The mulitas were super tasty! They're essentially tortillas laid flat on top of each other with condiments and filling, rather than folded like a taco. The cheese really holds everything together, making it a delicious treat. As for the beef birria, it had that expected dry, sticky, boiled texture on the bite. It's not exceptional beef, but it makes for a great street snack. I'd definitely come back! read more

If you're looking for some of the most flavor packed and delicious tacos in Manhattan, look no further. I've heard about their famous birria tacos in Queens a while back but I'm so glad to finally try it out in their new EV location. They have a very simple no fuss menu - just Birria tacos, tostadas, mulita, and consome so that's how you know they've perfected their craft. Each bite is a flavor bomb and everything is cooked so perfectly. Try dipping the tacos in the consome - it's a little messy but trust me, it's worth it. The line to order our food was short and we received our food very quickly. Service was also very friendly. Overall, 10/10 highly recommend! read more
This visit was years in the making. Last time I heard, they were only open at night with expectations to wait in line! The opposite was presented that day, as we went for lunch in the middle of the day, and there was no line. The worker was dishonest with the change he gave us back, so this experience already started with a bad taste in my mouth. Not only that, but the tacos that I thought would be everything I expected and more, was a disappointment. They were served piping hot, with a good amount of sauce, but I feel like I had better ones in Brooklyn. The tough taco shells might have threw me off. This food truck has one of the best Birria tacos I've had outside of Mexico! They only have approximately 4 things in their menu which you know is their specialty. Since this was my first time and I live in Canada I decided to pig out and had a taco, their consume and a tostado. All 3 items were super good. I've been wanting to try this spot for a long time now and it was well worth braving the freezing winter weather. Ordered 6 birria tacos and a small consome. The birria alone was bursting with flavor and juiciness, and dipping it in the consome elevated the taste to new heights. The quick and efficient service, coupled with the no-frills approach, delivered nothing but fresh and authentic birria tacos. The food was both satisfying and filling. Highly recommend and I will definitely be coming back for more birria! read more

Amazing tacos. We were expecting a little shop and so were surprised when we saw the truck, but the food was great, the wait was quick, and the truck has a little shelf on the side for make shift tables so we were able to eat right there. The birria was juicy, spicy, and the lime added the perfect little acid. I can't speak for the other menu items, but if they're anything like the tacos, they're probably worth trying. read more

You'll find parking but it may take a while to find it and you may have to do some walking after you find it. The tacos are worth it though.

It depends on the time of day. It could be 10-30 minutes and there is a line to order and given a number. When your number is called you pick up your order. It's worth the wait!

They move pretty quick once you order. It only takes about 5 mins once the order is placed.
