During a recent stay at Peppermill, we opted for a casual dinner at Biscotti's. We arrived early, around 5pm and were quickly seated. Our waiter was close behind the hostess to take drink orders and offer bread, which we happily accepted. For our party of two,the bread basket held four large, crusty sourdough rolls and was served with Parmesan butter on the side. Parmesan butter. I didn't even realize that was a thing, but now I'm hooked. What a great little something extra it added to the bread! For our entress, we both decided on pasta - Chicken Alfredo for me, Sausage Penne for the hubby, each served with a couple slices of parmesan crusted garlic bread. The meals were very tasty and filling. I was a little sad that I couldn't possibly finish it all - never mind find room for dessert. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive, and we were never left in need of refills of soda or water. And thanks to the amazing locals discount, the final bill was just $36 +tip! I definitely see us making Biscotti's a more frequent stop when we're looking for a tasty dinner out. read more

The beef stroganoff tasted strange and like it was reheated in the microwave. The Florentince Club looked amazing until it was time to actually eat it. It was sooo huge there was no way I could even eat it unless I dissected it and took out most of the inside. I got so frustrated because it started to get really messy so I just gave up. Me and my bf literally just pushed our food around and asked for the check. Our waiter asked if we were satisfied with our meal and we said not really. Got to try this place for dinner the other night and I thought it was really neat and nice! Ordered the butternut squash ravioli, Alfredo fettuccini with shrimp, and the tortilla soup (I think its called). Everything was really tasty, I would order again! Was pretty happy with the shrimp's flavor knowing its just frozen fish they use down here. Apparently the recipe for the tortilla soup has changed quite drastically to cheaper ingredients so my aunt wasn't entirely happy with it, thought it was weird that they had the corn cob chopped slices in it and had potatoes in it too... wish I knew what it tasted like before because she made it sound like it was amazing. The waitress was really nice too and you could tell she was working hard and trying to rush a little but she wasn't rude at all. Overall would definitely eat here again. read more

Came by here with the boyfriend over the weekend and boy let me tell you... This place is awesome. We came around 1030 and the waiter was grateful enough to seat us even though they were going to close at 11. Boyfriend and I both ordered Pasta, Mojito & Corona. No free bread here which I kind of wish they had. Our waiter was awesome!!!! I forgot his name but he's filipino & from Reno itself. College student who plays basketball. Yes. I know this because hes so friendly and he makes such great conversation. Our pastas were average but really heavy. We couldn't even finish it. When the waiter carded me, he realized my birthday was recent. (June 5) so he gave me a creme bruleé on the house!!!! I definitely tipped him generously after all that he has done. I don't really know where to go with this review. Like wandering around dark alleys of a foreign city, some discoveries are amazing, while others leave you wishing you were asleep and dreaming. The seafood was all more than excellent. The prime rib left me wishing I had A1 sauce. The fillet mignon was a journey of perfection. The pasta was all under or overdone so much so I thought I was eating soggy chips. The oysters might have been some of the best I've had inland from the boats they're brought in on. The desert bar takes itself WAY too seriously and just made me wish they had some pie and ice cream (IT'S PINKY OUT PEOPLE!) UPDATE: A co-worker just told me that A1 goes with meat and was wondering what my complaint was. IF YOU EAT A1 WITH PRIME RIB YOU ARE AN ENEMY OF GOODNESS AND JOY. The reason A1 sauce exists is to make really terrible meat palatable. If you've never had a steak that made your mouth water before you put ANY fixings on it, you have literally never had beef worth eating. To emphasize my above point, I made comments in a good, bad, good, bad order. Because this place was equal measures of good and bad. Don't eat A1 sauce on any worthwhile meat you're ruining the world with this nonsense. END UPDATE: This was an eating experience I'll not soon forget. There is a ton to love about it and an equal portion to hate. Once I swore I would never eat any place that served or needed to serve A1 with prime rib. I think that will hold true here as well. I didn't leave the meal upset really. I also wasn't going to sing the praises of infinite goodness I wanted too. All in all, it comes down to that it just wasn't worth the money. With a price tag of $47.00 for locals, and a moderate tip besides, I won't be back. One thing I want to add to this is that our server, whose name I've misplaced in my brain space was absolutely amazing! He made the experience better for all of us and I did appreciate his efforts and ability to keep my mimosa truly bottomless! read more

Well, where do we start. This is our go-to inside the peppermill, especially with kids. STAFF/SERVICE: They are attentive and polite. It can get overwhelming in there with large parties and kids, they can handle it. They always figure it out, make room, bring crayons, and just help wherever possible. Food is usually on time for the quality, if you have 23 people like we did, expect to wait, that's normal large party timing. FOOD: Lots to choose. Breakfast: We always pick this, good coffee in carafe, fresh squeezed orange juice is a favorite, along with chicken fried steak and the hash, my kids love the pancakes. Dinner: Good salad, prime rib, great crust/fresh topping pizza, ice cream is a must and the bananas foster crepe is a treat. I get milk for my little one here also. You can order to go, if you prefer too. They will help create what you need if it's possible and have the ingredients, so helpful. ATMOSPHERE: Clean, nice, and relaxing. Booths and tables, it's big so usually there is always room with little wait. A great spot to please all. There are slots by the bar if your itching to play. My review is specifically for happy hour at the bar. You can't beat the happy hour prices with half off appetizers and some drinks. If you're playing the machines at the bar, you can drink for free. I had been to the terrace bar before which has the same happy hour deals, but found that the service was slow. Zachery gave great service and I will continue to go back to this happy hour. We heard rave reviews about the Sunday brunch at Biscotti's and decided to give it a try. Brunch is from 10 am to 2 pm and we got there at 12:45- a little on the late side, when a few items started to look a bit tired and dried out. There was a large selection of seafood items: King Crab legs (just so-so), oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail and sushi. My favorites were the salmon topped sushi (tender, high quality) and the shrimp cocktail. On the hot entree side, my favorites were the lamb chops (seasoned perfectly) and the bbq pork rib in a tangy, sweet/sour sauce. The desserts have their own separate room - my favorite was the lemon meringue pudding in a martini glass - garnished with a real rose. The price per person ($54.99) is a little steep but includes bottomless mimosas and coffee. Having a "locals" discount (20% off) helped the final bill. We waddled out of there very full but thinking that buffets are really not our cup of tea. read more

Second nites dinner was the highly recommended (by waiter) prime rib. This meal was a 2. Prime rib tasted and looked like it had at under the best lamps for 10 minutes maybe trying top make a rare slice become medium rare. It came with potatoes and asparagus. Potatoes were puny round ones that were over cooked, asparagus was good. Servers were polite and checked in on me at an appropriate rare. So one dinner was very good and one was subpar. If I could give 0 stars I will!!! We went yesterday morning for breakfast and we ordered pancakes, bacon and sausage. The food came out in about 5 minutes. The food was cold and the bacon was black which means it wasn't cooked fresh, the sausage patty was as hard as a rock! I got sick from the food, it would've been a better choice go to McDonald's than over there. The orange juice was good and the server was nice, kind, and checked up on is periodically. As a huge fan and frequent guest of the Peppermill Resort, I have to review their restaurants that I have dined in. I'll kick it off with Biscotti's. Service: As always with the Peppermill, the service is outstanding. My wife and I have never encountered any rude or unprofessional staff members. We've always been seated promptly, only had to wait for a table once and it was only about a 5 minute wait. Three out of the four times we've been here, we had the same server and he is very good. It's been a while since we last had him so I cannot recall his name. Atmosphere: Highly detailed, clean, & smoke free. Even with the hallway where people walk to get to rooms and the pool passing right by this open restaurant, it doesn't get very loud in there at all. Food: Very good, but not quit great if you get what I mean. I can't speak on lunch or dinner as we always eat here for breakfast, but the breakfast is good. Not very big portions, one of only a couple downfalls of this place. As an avid protein consumer, I do appreciate the egg white omelet they offer. Also, no nasty minute maid OJ, FRESH SQUEEZED JUICE! Price: A bit on the high side, but that's to be expected at the Peppermill. Could be a bit out of reach for a family on a budget, but if your there with just your significant other or a friend, I feel that it's affortable. read more

I come here often with my dad, the only thing that I'm not a fan of, is how we somehow ALWAYS get forgotten. Last time we waited about 20 minutes for someone to come take our order for our drinks, then another 15 min for our food. We even told the server we were ready to order food when he came and grabbed our drinks, but he said he would have to come back...There were maybe three other tables in the whole place. Food is decent, but I've had better. Whoever, they have awesome desserts and a nice dessert counter right outside ( I don't think it's part of Biscotti's). For some reason, the place runs better at night. The food at night seems more fresh and the service is fast, not sure why that is, but If you do come here, shoot for dinner and avoid breakfast/ brunch and lunch. read more

Went last night Joey was craving the chicken with capers( can now duplicate he loves it, but he wanted Biscotti's) I always get the Monte Cristo and garlic mashed potatoes.(best around now even Atlantis) The food sells it's self took home Apple Bread pudding it's out of this world. Biggest and most impressive part of our dinner. Our server named Jerry. He was cordial, nice, fast, explained everything. There's only one other waitress we've come across and she's also at Biscotti's Jamie. The only other four places for service that stick out are the now closed Gaslamp(great atmosphere and service) Shadowbrook(Capitola CA)and Harrah's steakhouse. The former Silver Legacy Steakhouse( best salad and edible shell wrap I've and Sunday Brunch I've ever had) which never should have been changed over to Ruth's Chris not into the place). Joey was so impressed he went to management and told them how good Jerry is and to give that man a raise he deserves it. He had everything on time, there was a minor mistake made and Jerry actually gave me the Apple Bread Pudding on him. We gave him a good tip. Whoever is hiring wait staff at Biscotti's is doing a pretty good job of selecting. There's one there that we avoid this was months back not sure if it was a bad night, but my husband almost lost it and he's not like that. That was the only bad experience we ever had at Bisoccti's. Back to last night one of the best experiences I've had out. Next time we go back I asked Joey last night after left the next time we go please request Jerry or Jamie I hope they don't quit for a long time. Have to add one more place that had excellent service the former Circus Circus steakhouse one of the rare few that served Beef Wellington every night tasted exactly how my mom and I make every Christmas, Easter and Father's Day. I don't understand how outstanding places close up and these places in particular were always busy. I was staying at the hotel for work, had also stayed 2 years ago for a week. I checked my comp points from my players card and had $100.00. I wont be back for 2 years and had a craving for a nice steak. Well.... I got one. First off we were greeted by our waiter Mike, a super nice guy who clearly explained the menu and options. I ordered the fillet with a 10oz. Tail and a side of sauteed spinach with roasted pine nuts. The fillet was well aged with a strong beef flavor, the horse raddish was very sharp and the tail was not overdone and quite sweet. We decided to come here during breakfast to use the rest of our resort fee. Our server was very polite and new to the job. We ordered the farm hash and the huevos rancheros. We got our food in a timely manner. Huevos rancheros was okay, it had a lot of sour cream and guacamole, too bad we did not get much chips as we need more since it was quite a bit. Unfortunately, they got our order wrong and we had to call our waitress to make sure this was the farm hash as well it was prime rib. We enjoyed the dish quite a bit and got to taste it which was great. Anyways the waitress apologized and even the manager as well which was nice of them. We got the farm hash and it was good, but we liked the prime rib better. Anyways they were kind and they ended up comping our meal which they did not need to but appreciate the gesture. We go to Biscotti's often because of the good food, the good drinks, the great service and the opportunity to play progressive poker while we wine and dine. We always seat at the bar. The bartenders are very friendly and chatty. Our favorites are Rachel and Zac. We stopped at Biscottis last night for a quick bite. I am not a big meat eater but I like the prime rib sliders. I order them almost every time I'm there to make up for my meat deficiency. I also like the tacos and the lettuce wraps though. I have had salads a couple of times and they are good too. I was craving a chocolate martini and Rachel fixed me one that was just right: no too sweet, no too stiff and very pretty. The dessert menu looks very tempting but have not tried anything yet. I keep making a mental note to do that sometime but those sliders are too filling. It's places like this that make me feel super wasteful. Portions are so big one dish can easily feed a family of four. This is Peppermill's version of The Cheesecake Factory. They even have similar Italian blown glass decor and a booklet menu. You'll find everything from burgers, pastas, pizzas, salads... just like Cheesecake. We almost didn't get in - the restaurants have super early hours here (what's up with that?!); nothing like Vegas. The chef saw us and waved us in though. Thank goodness because only the coffee shop downstairs is open past 9:30p on Thursdays. Trevor took great care of us, and catered to our every whim. We ordered the Hollywood pizza with basil pesto, chicken and sun-dried tomatoes, the prime rib dip and the garlic noodles with chicken. Everything was tasty, except the noodles were way too wet - it was drenched in a thick soy based sauce - and not a good dish to keep for snacking on later. None of us were able to finish even half of our portions. So, I'd highly suggest sharing unless you are super ravenous. read more

This review is based on the Sunday Brunch Buffet. Can we just say, DELICIOUS! One thing that was slightly annoying, but was totally fixed, is that we had a group of 6, specifically there for the Sunday Brunch Buffet. They tried to seat us on the complete opposite side of the restaurant, and in a booth. That would have been such a nightmare to sit in a booth trying to get up and down to get food. But either way, they hooked up us. Closer to the buffet and at a table. Now, let's talk food. The crab legs were some of the biggest crab legs I've ever seen. And they come pre-cut for ease of getting the juicy meat out. All of the food was amazing. From eggs Benedict, to french toast, and mashed potatoes to sushi. That's right, they have sushi at their buffet. The Prime Rib was some of the best Prime Rib I've ever had. Tons of fresh fruit, and fresh salads. And a make your own omelette station. Did I mention that they have an entire room for dessert!?! A whole room. A huge table with a plentiful amount of desserts. The center piece, a chocolate fountain. With strawberries, cake and marshmallows to dip in the chocolate. YUM! They had a few gluten free options with dessert which is always nice. I believe they even offered some sugar free options. I almost forgot to mention the bottomless Prosecco. Our waitress Holly was on the ball with the bubbles. Every time we got up for food, and came back, our glass was full. She never let it get down far. She rocked! The buffet is slightly on the pricey side, at $44 and change, but if you're a local with a players card you get 20% off. I believe me bill was $33.57 total.
